  1. Pretty sure that beef's been over for years now.
  2. Ryu - 'I Did It Myself' 1:57 - "For delf, for dolo, the wealth, the fame, the shows, the planes, the photos, the fans that still with me see me on DeSoto Never heard of Fort Minor but they love Marco Polo"
  3. Chester and Corey Taylor at the same show will be epic.
  4. Interesting song, though an acquired taste. You can really hear the Indian meets African influence on it, which is cool. It doesn't feel to me like this is a song that took 16-17 years to make, though. Perhaps not in a structural and spiritual way but rather by means of technology is what took this song so long to do.
  5. Today on Mike's Instagram story, he shared a few clips of making a new beat that excited him: he took a few cowbells, played a little tune on them, then put the recorded samples through guitar pedals and a vocoder to make a cool beat. He was inspired by Michael Jackson, who in one of his songs sampled Coke bottles in the same fashion Mike did here with the cowbells. Here's the video, in case you can't see it: What's interesting about this video is that not only is it one of the first tastes of new music we've been able to hear in awhile (since the studio updates have been largely just confirming a new album is on the way again and again without anything to show for it), but we have a potential new song title revealed! At about 1:18 in the video above, you can see a post-it note with a few things written on it: one of which is 'Painted Me Wrong 2.7'. What exactly this is is unknown, but there's a lot of of possibilities: a new song? Could it be the title of the upcoming Blackbear X Linkin Park track? The "2.7" could also be a variety of things - a release date (February 7?), a version number, anything! What are your thoughts on it? We've already updated the 7th Album page on Linkinpedia, so be sure to check there for more information. We'll keep you posted on any more developments.
  6. Thanks
  7. LPLive X has been running strong over this past week, and this may be our biggest exclusive of it all! Introducing: Linkinpedia! Linkinpedia is our attempt at creating the Internet's most comprehensive guide of Linkin Park information. It's been in the works for a long time now - we've been writing articles on it since Fort Minor's "Welcome" was released in June 2015! The wiki contains over 500 pages of content and information ranging from the background information of songs to their live histories. It may seem crazy, but this wiki has been built and written from a small team of eight people. Since this would be impossible without everyone's hard work, it's only right to recognize who worked tirelessly for hours this last week until launch on the wiki. Writers: RogueSoul SasstielExperience lpliveusername Hahninator Lestat (Grey Daze section) Developer: Dmitry Reviewers: AndOne SergSlim Project Leader/Supervision: Skipees It's been over a year since we've been working on the Wiki, so we have a lot of memories from our long journey. Here's some of our favorite moments from the course of the writing: RogueSoul: My favorite part about this whole thing was getting to know everyone along the way. It started off in a small PM group before we moved to Skype soon after, and getting to know all these guys over the course of the year has been great. Not only have I gotten the privilege of working on this awesome project, but I got to make some great friends along the way. On the wiki itself, I handled a lot of the Live sections. The earliest ones I got out of the way, I remember, were the singles from Hybrid Theory and "Bleed It Out". If you check out those Wiki pages, you'll see those sections are huge. I decided to knock those out first and get them over it... probably one of the stupidest mistakes I've made in a long time. My next task is to go back through and add in all of the tour wiki pages to the Live sections, so it'll be fun revisiting all of my little hells... SasstielExperience: Favorite part? It honestly might have just been getting asked to do it. I never would have expected Skips to message me and ask to work on what is probably the biggest project I've ever worked on. Working with and collaborating with you guys was a ton of fun, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. That or writing the COG page lpliveusername: I worked a lot on the Xero/HTEP/HT pages and it was really interesting. I had to read/watch a lot of interviews and learned a lot about the band's early years. Lestat was right, you can write a huge "Linkin Park Story" kind of page using only with the things that are already out there. It's amazing how many things people have been questioning for years were already answered. lol Hahninator: In our interview with the founders this week, I mentioned how our staff team is so big that we are able to delegate a few people to individual projects to accomplish our long term goals. This is the #1 example of what I was talking about. The team assembled here worked tirelessly for well over a year behind the scenes to get this project off the ground and to where it is today. A wiki project is an overwhelming task to even think about (hence why we haven't done it before), but they nailed it. It is a community-driven project from this point forward and they will be overseeing it. I couldn't be prouder of how this turned out and all credit is due to these guys that spent hundreds, if not thousands, of hours on Linkinpedia. Skipees I remember how the current layout started in a private conversation between lpliveusername and me, it felt like we have on LPLive almost all the information but with rigid division into categories, there wasn't a place to read JUST about One Step Closer even though all the information about OSC is already on the site. The general idea of having a "Wiki" on the site dated even earlier, it was completely ditched after two other sites launched their's. It felt unnecessary at the time, and with the fifth version of LPLive we launched our own LPLive-centered Wiki which was based on information that isn't available anywhere on the web, tour summaries and differences between setlists are good examples. In the meantime we've encountered dozens of events where people posted a "fact" or asked something that didn't even made any sense (8-track Hybrid Theory EP with a blue baby cover?). When we realized this information comes from a couple LP wiki's around the web and that information which was added to one Wiki find itself to another Wiki in a matter of days and vice versa, we realized that there's a problem. While we're holding the accurate information and there wasn't a reliable place for the community to get the information from, there was only one thing to do - create our own thing. Our motto while creating Linkinpedia was "accurate as possible", if something feels like it's only 99% correct we're looking for another source before we're adding it to the site. Just for the upcoming new album page we've added 104(!) references. Our team is based on members of LPLive that shared the ability of information aggregation and data mining, as well with their own specific specialty. It is an enormous and a long-term project, but so far it was very productive and fun to be a part of. Before you ask, we're not recruiting new members for the team except from one position that should be staffed very soon and some current or former staff members that will help from time to time. We're doing this to keep the Linkinpedia consistent as possible so you can have a place to gather any information about the band's music. Remember that Linkinpedia is based a lot on LPL topics and lists that you helped to create and update, each bit of information you've ever posted on LPL and found its way to Linkinpedia - is YOUR part in this knowledge base formation. The Wiki has a lot of pages in it, so you may not know where to start. Here are some good places with lots of information to get you started on your search: Hybrid Theory Minutes To Midnight One Step Closer Points Of Authority A Place For My Head Bleed It Out Castle Of Glass Welcome Xero (Demo Cassette Tape) List Of Unreleased Songs Wiki links will be implemented into the show pages, so you will be able to click on song titles that appear in setlists and immediately be taken to their wiki page! We also have a current wiki on the site that will be implemented into Linkinpedia...this is in the works now. We won't be opening editing of the wiki pages up to the public. A lot of the other wikis (Wikipedia itself included) and pages out there were spreading misinformation, thus giving people the wrong conceptions about many songs and subjects. We've provided source information and citations wherever possible to ensure the legitimacy of the info. To prevent any false information from spreading, Linkinpedia is only able to be edited by a select number of staff. We're launching Linkinpedia as a "work in progress" - there are a lot of missing pages AND there is missing info in the current pages. With hundreds of articles written, you have to expect some mistakes. Fans and members can submit corrections, mistakes, etc. on the actual wiki itself via a form located on the sidebar on the front page, and our staff will take over from there. There are also plenty of pages that don't have all of their information written in, but they'll be written up as time goes on. If you want to help us with lyrics (because trust me, we need it), and you find a page that doesn't have lyrics written in yet, post your lyric translations in this thread! We've learned a lot about the band and their songs, as well as each other. Not only have we grown as Linkin Park fans, we've grown as friends and that has taught us a lot. Now, we have the honor of sharing it with the world, and all of you fans out there who want to learn everything there is to know! Now you can be the next Astat! You haven't heard from me a lot on this big week, and that's because I haven't been here since the start of LPL. I've had the honor of being able to work on this massive project and collaboration, and it'/ important to note that we couldn't have done any of this without you. A lot of our information came from the forums, your questions, your threads, your discussions. This wiki, and this website itself wouldn't have been possible without all of you. From all of us at Linkin Park Live, thank you for making these last ten years such an amazing journey. We hope you enjoy Linkinpedia!
  8. Very cool giveaway - not only is it something rare(-ish? not sure tbh, seems like something uncommon ), but it's signed, too! Good luck everyone!
  9. Glad to see Chester finding time to have some fun with friends onstage. Always great to see him in his classic rock element.

    It's Coming

I know what's going on yet I'm still confused
  11. If we sharpen the image enough, we can see demo titles reflecting off of Chester's head!
  12. To be fair, they didn't really give us anything to discuss, so all that's left to do is complain
  13. He's talking about the pack that was released awhile ago. The one Asteroids came with.
  14. Ah, okay. I guess my point still stands for Page though.
  15. I'm standing by that it's not at all a Linkin Park song for these reasons: Mike's vocals are tuned up. The only other song where his vocals were tuned up was Darker Than Blood during the bridge, as far as I know. Blackbear's working on his own album right now. It's the style of music he makes - I don't see why LP would make a song that sounds like Blackbear music for themselves. You could saw 'Rebellion' and Daron, but as far as I know the concept of 'Rebellion' was there before Daron was added into the picture; they invited him because it sounded like a SOAD song. Same with AFN and Page. The band has worked on collaborations with other artists from their own studio before. Martin Garrix was in their studio when they made Waiting For Tomorrow. Not an LP song. Sure, it very well may be that I'm wrong, but I'm 100% confident that this isn't an LP song.
  16. Well, to be fair, we have heard Coffee and Odyssey - they're Keys To The Kingdom and A Line In The Sand, respectively. As far as I know, all you have to do is to get the Linkin Park version of Stagelight and it should come with the samples.
  17. Are you serious? I don't even think I should argue this lmao I didn't realize Mike recording vocals for a song and maybe guitar automatically means it's theirs. My bad.
  18. We can't jump to conclusions yet about how the album sounds from this. It's not even their song. This is Blackbear's music, and I don't really think we know or care about any of his music changing a la early-THP to final-THP. During the recording of THP and that cycle we got ALTNC and Darker Than Blood. Just because the band is collaborating with electronic/pop artists like this doesn't indicate that's the way they're going. And tey've said already they're not collaborating in a musical sense, but as writers.
  19. Yeah, Chester sings the "I am"s in the verses and Mike usually backs the "I won't be ignored" in the choruses. You probably saw footage of them doing that and mistook it for them switching
  20. Lol, this is exactly what I thought when I saw it I think we can count this as official, I'm pretty sure we've known Sleepwalking as a demo title for awhile now - didn't it leak on the picture of the whiteboard we saw?
  21. Linkin Park news may be slow, but maybe you will have the chance to ask them what's up. Music For Relief has started a contest that you can enter in to meet the band and get a chance to interview them! To enter the campaign, head to this page on Propeller and complete one of the actions to gain points to get a chance to win this opportunity. Each point constitutes one additional entry. Actions include subscribing to the MFR Newsletter, donating to the organization (five points for every dollar!), watching videos, buying Linkin Park merchandise, and more. Winning the contest will win you a variety of things: Propeller will fly you and a friend to Los Angeles (with hotel fees covered for two nights at a pretty high-profile hotel - the Sunset Marquee at the Sunset Strip) where you'll be able to go to Linkin Park HQ and meet the band members and see what's going on over there. The band will take you to some of their favorite spots around town - including the shooting location of Fort Minor's 'Welcome' - too. After it's all over, you'll be going over the Facebook Live to interview the band about their Power The World campaign - and don't worry, you'll have millions of people feeding you questions. The campaign ends on September 29, so you have plenty of time to enter! The contest is limited to people the age of 18 and above, but is applicable worldwide. Even if you don't win, you're donating to charity, so it's a win-win situation here. Who's going to enter? Follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page for more Linkin Park news.
  22. Can a man not play a show with friends/idols without being criticized about his personal views? If you're going to let someone's political or religious views (barring extremist views - I feel that's a reasonable justification) dictate whether or not you listen to music, I don't think music is the right thing for you. I get Trump is crazy, but given this election Hillary's not a shining star either. Don't make assumptions. Chester said he didn't support Trump awhile ago, and as we have no evidence or sources saying his mind has changed in 8 months, let's give the man that much. Interested to see what songs he performed!
  23. Its just sarcasm, unless ProTools crashed with all of the progress they made (it should autosave, and they, being artists, should save their progress likes its second nature anyway) I doubt that would be enough to set the album back that far. It's annoying and time consuming to restart the profram, yeah, but it's nit gonna set them back half a year.
  24. It's becoming increasingly less strange for Linkin Park to be involved in something political. The band, alongside Trent Reznor, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, and more are signing their names to a petition in support of reforming the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) was signed in 1998 by Bill Clinton, looking to update copyright laws with the digital age. Since it's signing, lots has come into play that have rendered the act outdated. Services like YouTube and Spotify - ways creators can get their content to consumers in efficient and convenient ways - have made the system, in the words of the petition, "broken and no longer [working] for creators." It also states that "It has allowed major tech companies to grow and generate huge profits by creating ease of use for consumers to carry almost every recorded song in history in their pocket via a smartphone, while songwriters’ and artists’ earnings continue to diminish... The growth and support of technology companies should not be at the expense of artists and songwriters.” The petition came about at the dawn of the new year, when the Copyright Office announced it's plans to reevaluate the DMCA, stating that "While Congress understood that it would be essential to address online infringement as the Internet continued to grow, it may have been difficult to anticipate the online world as we now know it, where each day users upload hundreds of millions of photos, videos and other items, and service providers receive over a million notices of alleged infringement." What are your thoughts on it? It's not exactly a Linkin Park-centric subject, but rather, an open discussion for music lovers and creators. Over 160 artists have now signed the petition, and more expected to follow. Linkin Park are major artists on most services, YouTube and Spotify included. This is more of a discussion topic than anything else. Tell us your thoughts! Linkin Park's next album is coming along, with another studio update expected soon.
