  1. Hey everyone. This isn't a normal news or announcement thread, but rather just something that needs to be said. Last night we opened our Twitter DMs to the public because we had been receiving a lot of messages from people who have no one to go to. We did our best to respond to as many of you as possible but with hundreds upon hundreds of you coming to us, it was nearly impossible to hit every single one of you. We're sorry if we couldn't reach you - it's just me (Dylan) and Hahninator (Mark) who have been reaching out to you all and doing what we can to help. Two people alone can't do this job even though we wish that we could have conversations with every single last one of you who are hurting now. We heard some truly heartbreaking stories from some of you. We talked to everyone from a United States soldier who was stationed in Iraq to a heroin addict, and despite such a large gap between those two types of people we were all feeling the same pain. It's so heartbreaking to know that there were all of you out there who had no one else to go to and all you needed was just to talk. Some of you told us that you were thinking about committing suicide and following Chester's footsteps. This is a PSA to tell you that killing yourself is not the answer to end your pain. No matter how much it hurts or how impossible it seems to move on, I promise you that even on your darkest days there will come a brighter tomorrow. I'm going to address some things that commonly came up that many others may be going through right now. One of the most striking things someone said last night was that they realized that suicide was now an option since the very person who saved them from it did it themselves. That is the farthest thing from the truth. Suicide is never an option. Those who do it fall into a dark place and make the mistake of forgetting that all pain heals. Chester was in a very dark place and he was all alone when he made that choice to end it all. He forgot in those darkest moments that he had everyone on the world on his side. That's what you need to remember. There are people who love you and will hurt just like you're hurting now. In a world so full of pain we have to remember that the answer to ending it is love. Related to that all, some people don't know what to do now that Chester is gone. There is no one definitive answer I can give you for this one. It's true, Chester is dead. But just because someone has left this Earth does not mean they are gone. Whether its a relative, a pet, or even a relationship, parts of those things we miss will always live on because we keep the good memories in our hearts. It's easier said than done for sure, but it's important to remember Chester is alive in our hearts and all the messages and memories have gave us will live on, too. Remember that if you're feeling guilty, you did nothing wrong. As sad as it is to say, there really wasn't much we could do that we weren't already doing for him. Chester knew we loved him with all of our hearts and he loved us all right back with all of his heart. Sure, there was a lot of backlash to One More Light but we're sure that wasn't a big role in what happened. He was proud of that album and there were so many of us who loved it all the same. We did everything we could for Chester and fans and know that from the bottom of his heart he loved every single one of you no matter where in the world you are. Remember that you are not alone in your suffering. I, myself, have lost more than just Chester in the last month. I've lost my relationship, I've lost a friend, and now a hero. The pain I've felt goes beyond words and I'm going to say right here that I, too, thought I should do what Chester did. I remembered all the friends and my family who comforted me through all of my pain. I remembered all the times I went to Linkin Park's music in these last weeks to help understand my own pain (though I can't bring myself to listen to the band's music for awhile). I remembered all the dreams I have: making music that will help people like Chester's did, helping people get through the emotions they feel when they reach this point in their lives, and one day showing the girl that broke my heart that I am the one for her and getting her back. Today, July 24, was the day I was going to fly across the United States to go see her again. Instead of letting my pain consume me I turned everything I felt into what drove me to make my life better and become a stronger person and today I'm releasing a song I wrote about a year and a half ago about that same relationship. Turn your pain into your power. Let it drive you. Make your dreams your reality. Life is what you make of it, and your dreams exist so that you can live every day until you reach that point in your life where you can live happily with your dreams being real. Life is hard and there are points where it may feel as if it's just going to keep going downhill. It happens to the best of us. But remember that even in the longest and darkest tunnels there will always be a light at the end. Push forward through the pain because you are stronger than it. It won't consume you unless you let it. Be strong and be kind. If you need to talk, you can DM us and we'll do our best to respond when we can. It's very important to talk to people who know the same pain as you so you can all grieve and heal together. If you want to talk to people who are hurting with you, please join the LPLive Help Line Discord group chat. It is free to join and anyone can come and just talk and let out your pain. You are not alone. I promise. When you feel like you're sinking down there will always be a hand that reaches out to you to pull you back to the surface. We are a family and we are here for each other. Even if you're not hurting and just want to help others, feel free to join the chat. It is open to everyone. We are Linkin Park Live. We are the LP Soldiers. We are family. Let's love each other and heal together. Chester is at peace now and he will stand next to all of us as we make our dreams, the dreams that HE inspired, come true. You are loved. Never forget that. We are always here for you if you need us to be. This is a list of Suicide Prevention Hotline numbers all around the globe. Please call one if you ever need to. Worldwide LP Ambassadors, please translate this into your own language and spread it to your page.
  2. I agree with this. This feels like the right thing for them to do if they want to keep performing.
  3. Thank you so much for sharing this all. Stay strong. We'll fight through this together. Unrelated, but for me, at least, some good came out of this. This post went semi-viral even being picked up on RockSound. This is no place for me to brag, but I'm so humbled to have been one of the leading factors of uniting this huge Linkin Park family together today. Somehow I feel like I'm doing Chester proud wherever he is right now. Stay strong everyone. I love you all and we'll be here forever. PM me if you need any support.
  4. Thank you everyone for the kind words you're sending to me. I'm absolutely crushed by everything that's been going on ut in the music I've found hope and I know everything will be better one day. Never forget that everything happens for a reason and things will get better. Just hold on even when things seem like they'll never get better. Everything will. I promise.
  5. I'm so sorry everyone. This loss comes as one for everyone. It is confirmed that Chester Bennington has committed suicide this morning. Even here writing this post I'm not really sure what to type or say. It's unbelievable that he's gone and it's heartbreaking from every end. It is his dear friend Chris Cornell's 53rd birthday, and it seems all too tragic and sad (and perhaps even coincidental) that this is the day he left us. I don't think anyone could've seen this coming. For me, personally, it's been one of the worst months of my life. My girlfriend left me for someone else and one of my old friends died in the Marines plane crash, and now my hero has committed suicide in the span of two weeks. Through all of this, I relied heavily on Linkin Park's music to help me through it. Songs like 'Leave Out All The Rest' and 'Sorry For Now' and even 'Crawling' were ones I was turning to to get me through. Chester's voice is something irreplaceable and in every word you can feel every single emotion and though that came to his mind. I met Chester for the first time two months ago at the secret show in New York. He shook my hand and told me "Thank you for everything." Those words, while simple, will be something I never forget. Those four words were so genuine and had so much emotion packed into them that I could feel he truly meant them. He was a man who could never do anyone wrong. Linkin Park is a band that has touched everyone in every part of the globe whether all they knew was 'In The End' and 'Numb' or whether they were the true hardcore fans that loved 'And One' to death. Whether it was just an angsty teenage fad for you or a lifelong dedication, Linkin Park was always there for you in your life. Chester's voice and musicianship was something of legend and something that this world may never see again. We don't know what the future holds for Linkin Park, or for any of us, in fact. What I do know is that no matter what happens going forward that we are all a family, united by a love for music and this band. We are Linkin Park Live. We are Linkin Park Association. We are Linkin Park Fan Corner. We are the Linkin Park Soldiers and that will never change. Forever and until the end we will always be here for each other and that's something that will never change. If you or anyone you know is suffering from problems with mental health, please go to someone. This goes to show you that it doesn't matter who you are or what you have. Mental illness can affect anyone. If you are having thoughts of suicide, please call someone or a Suicide Prevention Hotline. Your life is valuable and there are people who love you and will be devastated if you leave too soon. Everyone here will always be here for you if you need it. Don't lose hope. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for everything, Chester. Goodbye and we hope from the bottom of our hearts that you've escaped your demons. Rest in peace.
  6. So Far Away Nobody's Listening In Between
  7. Is a new collaboration on the way? Hip-hop artist Watsky just posted a picture of him, Mike, Chester, and drummer Chukwudi Hodge in the studio on his Twitter account: Linkin Park collaborated with many artists on One More Light, though a lot of the music they worked on with others never saw the light of day, so there's always a chance we won't see anything come from this. Though this could definitely be a one-off song for a Watsky song. What do you think will come from this?
  8. Apple Music now has Carpool Karaoke as a series so it'll probably air on there in August. Probably not going to air on Corden if he wasn't even part of it.
  9. God I hope not lol
  10. I'm pretty sure a person with a camera doesn't mean a proshot exists. The only form of proshot audio is a three-song radio webcast.
  11. This is it! We've reached the end! Linkin Park's One More Light European Tour is finally coming to a close after almost a month on the road and 16 shows in the books. The 17th and final show of the tour will be in Birmingham, England on July 6 at the Barclaycard Arena. Linkin Park has a history in Birmingham, but nothing compared to the 27 shows they've played in London over the years. Linkin Park first played Birmingham in 2003 on the Meteora tour. The show came at a pretty unique time during the cycle, as the band played a pretty out-of-the-ordinary set in November 2003 for the Meteora UK Tour. 'Papercut' opened the show for the first time ever in these sets with a long intro, and 'Breaking The Habit' was being performed for the first time ever. 'Nobody's Listening' would be extended with a verse from an LPU Demo called 'Standing In The Middle,' as well. The band returned to Birmingham 7 years later for the A Thousand Suns tour, performing new songs like 'When They Come For Me' and 'The Catalyst.' This show came with a couple of cool surprises: a fan playing guitar on 'Crawling' for the first time ever (this was also the first time since the very start of the Minutes To Midnight tour that a fan had been brought up to play a song with the band) and Mike rapped 'Reading My Eyes' and 'A Place For My Head' over 'Bleed It Out.' Watch the band bring up a fan named Chris for 'Crawling' at Birmingham 2010! The band's last show was in London, and it was a pretty special one. Linkin Park performed at the legendary Brixton Academy for a second night in London, and it was a pretty special night. The smaller venue led to some huge energy from both the crowd and the band, their extended set time allowing them to play two old classics that everyone jammed to: 'Points Of Authority' and 'A Place For My Head.' There were a couple of guests at the show, as well: Stormzy made a return for 'Good Goodbye' as he did at the O2 Arena the night before, and Jon Greene from The Bonfires joined the band for 'Nobody Can Save Me' for the first time ever (Greene worked on the song in the studio with the band). 'Bleed It Out' was moved down to close the main set instead of being in the encore (the first time both of these things have happened since January 2014), leading to an epic finale of 'Papercut' and 'Faint' to close out the show. 'Sharp Edges' opened the encore as it normally does in headlining shows, and Mike rapped verse 1 of 'Petrified' over 'Castle Of Glass' for the second time ever (the first being in Sweden). He also brought out the 'Reading My Eyes' verse over the bridge. A pretty huge night for a smaller venue! Birmingham is bound to be a special night as well, but perhaps more spiritually than on paper. There's no telling if all these guests will come back out in Birmingham (both artists are from London, after all), so that's one variable to look out for. The setlist will still be extended, but it's likely we see the same setlist from Night 1 with different verses and perhaps a return to the live version of 'Good Goodbye.' The setlist is nothing to be disappointed about, though: you're getting 'Battle Symphony,' 'From The Inside,' and 'Somewhere I Belong' in one long and epic set. You'll have an epic time no matter what the band does! It is entirely possible the band throws us some curveballs to keep us on our toes, so take this all with a grain of salt. It's anyone's game. It's the last night of the tour nonetheless, so it should be an epic night regardless of anything the band does! You've already seen Stormzy on 'Good Goodbye,' so check out Jon Green on 'Nobody Can Save Me!' --------------------------------------------------------------------- Before closing things off for the tour, something should be said about the cancelled show in Manchester that was originally going to close the tour. The show was cancelled after a terrorist attack occurred after an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena, where the band would have played after this show. It's a tragedy for a lot of us, not necessarily in regards to the artist but in terms of music itself. We can all vouch for what it means to be at a concert. A concert is when thousands of music fans can all come together free of any judgements or disagreements and for an hour or two and enjoy the night. We overcome our differences to meet on one common ground: a love or music. An attack on music is an attack on art and an attack on the world. I'm not telling you to go out there and go beat up a terrorist; don't put yourself in harm's way. But what you can do is show love and compassion to everyone around you, and stand up for what you believe in and for each other. The way to stop hate is to first stop it within ourselves, and then continue to spread that sentiment. Here is a list of all the people who died at the Manchester attack. Some were parents waiting to pick their kids up from the show, and others were the kids who had the time of their lives. Let's keep them in our hearts for today as the tour comes to a close here and remember that all of reading this is one family. God forbid it was one of us on this website or fanbase that was lost in a tragedy. Saffie-Rose Roussos, 8 Eilidh MacLeod, 14 Nell Jones, 14 Sorrell Leczkowski, 14 Megan Hurly, 15 Olivia Campbell, 15 Chloe Rutherford, 17 & Liam Curry, 19 (couple) Courtney Boyle, 18 Georgina Callander, 18 John Atkinson, 26 Kelly Brewster, 32 Philip Tron, 32 Angelika Klis, 40 & Marcin Klis, 42 Alison Howe, 45 Michelle Kiss, 45 Lisa Lees, 47 Jane Tweddle-Taylor, 50 Wendy Fawell, 50 Elaine McIver Martyn Hett You can read all of their stories and see who they were in this article. The following performance is 'One More Light' dedicated to Chris Cornell back at the Jimmy Kimmel Live performance in May. Let's all dedicate this song to those lost in Manchester tonight and sing the song for them. Thanks for reading. Back to your regularly scheduled pre-show post! --------------------------------------------------------------------- Who's going to the show? Linkin Park has no more tour dates in Europe just yet, but it won't be too much longer until they're back on the road! The band will return to the stage in North America later this month for the One More Light North American Tour with Machine Gun Kelly starting on July 27 in Mansfield, Massachusetts followed by the two Welcome To Blinkin Park shows with Blink-182 in Flushing, New York on July 28 and in Hershey, Pennsylvania on July 30. For updates on this show, join our Discord server and follow us on Twitter and Facebook. Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2017 touring schedule here.
  12. Scheduled to go onstage at 8:30 but didn't actually get on until around 8:50
  13. The boys are back for round 2! After rocking the O2 Arena last night with a special (slightly) extended setlist, the band is stripping things down for a smaller show at the Brixton Academy in London for night 2 in the city. We already discusses Linkin Park's hefty history in London in the previous post (being the band's second-most performed in city, there was quite a lot to cover), so lets focus in on the venue for this one, instead. Despite it being a pretty small venue in terms of Linkin Park, the O2 Academy Brixton has been the home of plenty of the band's biggest moments. The band's show there in 2001 is a very special and unique, being one of two shows the band has ever performed the entirety of Hybrid Theory (out of order, though, unlike at Download 2014). The band's setlist was also riddled with some epic treats, such as the Mike Shinoda Remix of 'High Voltage' and the live version of 'And One,' as well as a very early acoustic version of the Dead By Sunrise song 'Morning After' that Chester played to start the encore. The band returned in 2003 at the start of the Meteora touring cycle, giving songs like 'Easier To Run' and 'Hit The Floor' some playtime before being dropped (forever) as well as giving tracks including 'Don't Stay' and 'Lying From You' some of their first breaths of air. Sadly no recordings exist from these two shows at the Brixton Academy, but you can get a taste of what the atmosphere would've been like with this video of 'High Voltage' live at a later London show in 2001. The first of two nights were definitely something. For one, the band performed what is definitively their longest show ever, adding some treats into the set. The first surprise of the night was a big one - the album version live debut of 'Good Goodbye!' That's right, the band brought out London-native Stormzy for the first time to perform the track, Stormzy rapping his verse at the end of the song, but Mike still found time to do his own live verse, just over the instrumental of the second verse instead of the third. It was a bit of a bumpy performance with Stormzy coming in during the second verse before quickly stopping and Chester messing up the final chorus, but it was a pretty momentous moment nonetheless - where's Pusha T? Time for all the guests to come together for the track. Next came the addition of 'From The Inside' into the set after 'New Divide,' then a surprise performance of 'Hands Held High' acapella style before 'Invisible - the first time 'Hands Held High' has featured in a Linkin Park set since Mike rapped it during his Solo Medley at Greenfield 2014 and the first time the acapella version was performed since Epicenter 2009. The set went on pretty much as normal from there on out, with 'Somewhere I Belong' in the heavy slot and 'Sharp Edges' opening the encore. What can we expect at this show? Maybe something more, but perhaps some of the same, too. It seems like a bit of a waste to have a whole 40 minutes extra and only add one song into the setlist. Of course, the conservation of Chester's voice has to be taken into account (these are back to back shows, after all), but perhaps they can get a little crazier at night 2 in London now that a two-day break is coming before Birmingham. Plus, it's a smaller venue, so you can expect the energy to be a lot more present at this show. Perhaps the band will add another two songs into the set? Maybe Mike could do some Fort Minor stuff in the middle of the set - no one would have any complaints there. Assuming the band keeps the same formula as the O2 Arena, you can expect 'A Place For My Head' and 'Points Of Authority' to be played, and it's not far off to assume Stormzy would come back out for 'Good Goodbye.' What do you think will happen? Check out Stormzy kill it with Linkin Park during 'Good Goodbye' at the O2 Arena. Hopefully this isn't the last time we see this collaboration happen! Who's heading to the show? For live updates, join our new Discord server and follow us on Twitter and Facebook. What do you think we'll see happen at this show? Let us know. After this show, the band ends the One More Light European Tour off in Birmingham. Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2017 touring cycle here.
  14. We're on the final ropes - and things are about to get really interesting. Linkin Park is gearing up for the UK Leg of their One More Light European Tour and have quite a big surprise in store for the fans. The leg is beginning with the first of two nights in London at the grand O2 Arena! Linkin Park has played London a load of times - in fact, it's their second-most played in city, clocking in at 27 total performances (including Night 2 tomorrow), meaning it falls just 1 show short of the band's hometown of Los Angeles which boasts 28 shows. Mike and Chester visited London earlier this year for 'Heavy' promo (and the announcement of the UK Leg), performing one show at the YouTube Space in London and another for Warner Bros U.K. Stripped down versions of 'Burn It Down' and 'Battle Symphony' were played between the two shows, and Swedish/Moroccan vocalist Sofia Karlberg joined them for 'Heavy' for the YouTube performance. The last FULL BAND performances in London were in 2014, two nights closing out the European Leg of The Hunting Party tour. Aaron Pauley and Austin Carlile of (and formerly of) Of Mice & Men joined the band for the Ballad Medley and 'Faint' respectively. The band performed Set B at the first show (which featured the 2014 Version of 'Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You,' 'With You,' and 'Somewhere I Belong'), and played Set A at the second show (which boasted 'Points Of Authority' and 'Crawling'), but the second night had a few fun twists! Brad's guitar tech Benjamin Chandler came out for a guitar solo at the end of 'What I've Done,' and the band took a page out of Thirty Seconds To Mars' book and invited fans onstage for the last song, 'Bleed It Out.' Talk about a way to end off a tour! Linkin Park didn't return in 2015, but Mike did with Fort Minor, playing the latest FM show with a fully fleshed out setlist including a remix of 'High Voltage' and even an impromptu request section in the encore with 'There They Go' and 'A Place For My Head.' London has always had some really great moments go on at the shows. Since there are 27 of them, I won't detail them all (no one's reading this in the first place, don't want to give you a textbook to skim over ), so here are some unforgettable highlights over the years: the band performing a cover of 'Rolling In The Deep' by Adele at the iTunes Festival in 2011, hosting the first LPU Summit in London 2010, Mike singing a short cover of Rihanna's 'Umbrella' in 2008, impromptu performances of 'A.06' and 'A Place For My Head' in 2003, and performing all of Hybrid Theory at the Brixton Academy (where they play tomorrow) in 2001 (though not in order as they did in England in 2014). Oh, and don't forget Chester showing off his Superman underwear before the end of the show in 2007. A classic moment. Needless to say, Linkin Park's history in London has been nothing short of awesome. Never forget Chester and Mike's intimate cover of 'Rolling In The Deep' at the iTunes Festival in 2011. A pretty unique moment in Linkin Park's live history! The band's most recent show was at the Rock Werchter festival in Belgium, and it was certainly came with a few surprises! The most shocking was the fact we actually got a livestream! It was confirmed last minute by the festival as management gave them the okay, bringing the livestream count up to a whopping three this tour (that's a record!), the other two being in Monza and the Southside Festival. The setlist came with its variations: the 'Battle Symphony' / 'Nobody Can Save Me' slot being dropped, verse one of 'A Place For My Head' over the ending of 'Castle Of Glass,' 'Somewhere I Belong' in the heavy rotation, and, most notably, 'Faint' returning to the closing spot in the setlist. Lots of great things for another unique setlist for the tour! Something great about this European Tour is that more or less every single show has had a different setlist in some way, shape, or form. Well, that's definitely going to stay consistent here. The big buzz about the UK shows has been the recent announcement that the band will be playing an extra long set in the UK. There's no opening acts for this show, so the band will take the stage at 8:30 PM and keep going until 11:00 PM, as opposed to the standard 9:10 PM start. That's an extra forty minutes of set time. That's enough for up to 6 or 7 more songs! The big question about it is what the band will do to fill in the slots. The predictions are definitely varied. Most of you are pretty adamant that nothing significant will change in the setlist; that is, we'll see the standard full setlist with all the rotation slots plus 'Sharp Edges' in the encore. It's a solid conclusion to draw, taking into consideration Chester's voice (and the fact he'll be doing two super long shows on back-to-back days). Others think we'll see a longer set, but nothing too surprising: instead of adding some random songs into the set, we'll see all the songs the band has been rotating added in. Another pretty solid guess. Others are more adventurous in their thinking, hoping for perhaps some Fort Minor or stripped down action in the set. Surprisingly, the idea of Fort Minor material in the set really isn't that far off. Beyond the 'Remember The Name' intro to 'Waiting For The End,' there's a lot of clues pointing to Mike doing some solo stuff in the show; namely, the new Fort Minor shirts he's been repping. Seems a bit too suspicious and all too subtle in the classic Trollnoda fashion. Something must be up. Mike also did spend about 12 hours in the studio in Prague on his day off - perhaps he was preparing some new material for the setlist? All our questions will be answered soon! If you missed out on the Rock Werchter stream, be sure you check it out! A really great show from the band, and Chester really nailed it. One of the best performances of 'The Catalyst' in a long time! Who's heading to the show? If you'll be joining us for coverage live, be sure to check out and join our new Discord server. Lots of great discussion happened there for the Rock Werchter stream, so lets see what happens when we're scouring the net for setlist details! Come react to any surprises with us there. If you don't like us, that's okay. You can follow us on Twitter or Facebook for setlist updates as well. Linkin Park follows up this show with a smaller show at the O2 Brixton Academy tomorrow before wrapping the whole European Tour up in Birmingham. Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2017 touring schedule here.
  15. So we're going to try something for this show. Instead of the conventional shoutbox chat we opened up an actual chatroom on Discord. If you wanna talk and watch the livestream with us, click the link to join in. https://discord.gg/sCe2zSj
  16. We're finally reaching the end of the One More Light European Tour! The last show in the European Union (because, you know, Brexit and all that) and the last festival show of the tour is happening today in Werchter, Belgium at Rock Werchter! Linkin Park isn't a stranger to Belgium - or Rock Werchter! The band last performed at the festival in 2011 on the A Thousand Suns European Tour, playing a set full of huge tracks from the album like 'When They Come For Me' and 'The Catalyst.' The band's most recent performance in Belgium was at the Pukkelpop festival in 2015, which kicked off the final leg of The Hunting Party World Tour. This show featured one of the first "full" setlists of the summer of 2015, featuring 'Rebellion' returning to the set after being dropped for their China tour due to the political connotations of the song. Fun fact - the Pukkelpop festival in 2005 was the site of the very first Fort Minor concert! Linkin Park's very first show in Belgium was in 2001, when they opened for the Deftones on their 'Back To School' Tour. Watch some pro-shot footage of 'Papercut' opening up the band's show at Pukkelpop 2015! The band's most recent show came with a load of surprises - and we're not talking about the excellent pictures some of the fans took (though it has to be said - there were some truly crisp pictures taken). The band performed their first festival show in Sweden and the Bråvalla festival on June 29, and it was almost like we were taken back to the Meteora days! What do we mean? Well, for starters, Christian Lindskog from Blindside came out and guested on 'One Step Closer' - the first time we've had a guest sing on the song since 2004 when Jonathan Davis sang the bridge of the track Reanimation style. Lindskog was also a guest on 'One Step Closer' back in the day, this being the first time he's joined the band onstage since Rapid City, South Dakota on Projekt Revolution 2003, where he sang the ending of 'P5hng Me A*wy' (he would also guest on 'One Step Closer' at other shows, the last instance being the show before the aforementioned one, in Billings, Montana - coincidentally, these two shows were the only times the band ever played in these U.S. states!). Mike changed things up throughout the show, first by rapping a fresh verse over the ending of 'Castle Of Glass' - 'Petrified,' bringing the total possible verses up to four - and rapping the chorus of 'Remember The Name' before 'Numb' since 'Waiting For The End' was dropped. Seems like that song is bound to keep jumping around whenever 'Waiting For The End' isn't played - it came after 'Invisible' at Hellfest. All that variation for a show in Sweden? Must mean something special for Belgium, right? As we've been saying for awhile: we have absolutely no clue. All we can tell you is what we think will happen. Linkin Park has been randomly cutting their festival shows a bit short and cutting some songs (like 'Waiting For The End'), so whether or not they do that for Rock Werchter is up in the air. If they do cut it short, that'd mean 'Battle Symphony' and 'Nobody Can Save Me' are out of the equation (though if they were the play that slot, 'Nobody Can Save Me' should be performed). Who knows what Mike will do over the end of 'Castle Of Glass' - the options now are 'It's Goin' Down,' 'A Place For My Head' (if they don't play it later on), 'A Light That Never Comes' (which has only been done once so far), and now 'Petrified,' and Mike could easily pull something else up over it. 'Points Of Authority' was performed in Sweden and 'A Place For My Head' at the show before, so 'From The Inside' and 'Somewhere I Belong' are the most likely candidates - I'm thinking it'll be the latter of the two. Lastly, will 'Faint' return as the show closer as it did last-minute at Southside in Germany? We hope so, but it's been a few shows since that happened. Will Mike keep up the varied setlists, or will we finally get a match? Time will tell. This video catches a lot of of the cool moments from the Bråvalla show - watch Mike and Chester introduce Christian Lindskog to the stage for 'One Step Closer' and Mike rap 'Petrified' over 'Castle Of Glass' - what do you think takes the cake for the biggest surprise of the show? I've said that previous festivals the band played at on this tour have been stacked in terms of their lineups, but holy hell does Rock Werchter take the cake. Right before Linkin Park is the legendary System Of A Down, who are currently touring with a massive setlist including rarities like 'Pictures' and 'Highway Song,' as well as all of their big hits like 'Chop Suey' and 'Aerials.' Funny enough, the band headlined other days of many of the festivals Linkin Park performed at this tour, like Download Madrid, Download Paris, and NovaRock, to name a few. Before them come Blink-182 who need no introduction here - they've played with the band at several festivals this tour already, and the Blinkin Park hype at the end of the month is steadily increasing. Expect hits like 'Dammit' and 'All The Small Things' as well as new tracks like 'California' to be in the set. Before them come Jimmy Eat World, Seasick Steve, and more. Looking at the lineup, we know what you must be thinking: 'Rebellion?' Sadly, there's little hope that the song will be performed (even though all they'd have to tell Daron Malakian to do is play 'I-E-A-I-A-I-O'...). The biggest reason is guitar tunings. For those who don't know, 'Rebellion' is performed with guitars tuned to Drop C - a half step lower than most of Linkin Park's tracks (for reference, 'One Step Closer' and 'Faint' are both in Drop Db). The band could tune down two guitars to perform the song... but for some reason that just doesn't seem like something they'd do. According to Astat's Linkin Park Guitars website, two of the three guitars Brad used for 'Rebellion' are currently in the rig, but they are tuned to Eb instead of Drop C (for songs like 'A Place For My Head' and 'Somewhere I Belong'). The third guitar is MIA - we haven't actually had a picture of the guitar riff this tour, so we're not sure if its with the band or not (the safe assumption is no). In addition, based off the performance of the new lightning director, she doesn't really know what she's doing on most of the songs (just look at the lights on 'A Place For My Head'), so the production for the song would certainly be... something special. If 'Rebellion' were somehow to be played, replacing 'Wastelands' with it for some more The Hunting Party representation in the setlists would be great, but unfortunately it just doesn't seem like it'll happen. Daron has going the band for two separate occasions to perform the song: the Carnivores Tour stop in Los Angeles and the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas in 2014. Watch Daron guest on 'Rebellion' at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas in 2014! 'Rebellion' isn't in the setlist anymore, but will the band bring the track for a special performance with Daron since SOAD are performing? Probably not. But we can dream, right? Another question you may be asking: livestream? Unfortunately (again), it looks like Linkin Park won't be livestreamed. Don't get your hopes up for any of the other mainstage acts, either - according to the livestream schedule, the only mainstage act that's going to be livestreamed today are the Dropkick Murphys. If your interested in acts such as Passenger, Glass Animals, or Bonobo (amongst others), you can click that link to check out the schedule for the livestream. What will be livestreamed, however, if a Live Q&A from Mike and Machine Gun Kelly regarding the One More Light North American Tour that starts later this month. It'll start at 5:15 CEST (convert your timezone here / countdown), so tune in on Facebook Live if you can! Will anyone be heading to the show? After this show, the band heads to the UK for three shows that'll actually have an extended set time - join the discussion we're having on the thread for the topic as to what the band will do with their 40 minutes of added set time in the UK, if anything at all. 17. In terms of popularity at the TIME, doesn't really hold though. Like you said, they can't and couldn't predict the future so there was no telling how successful COG would be (which realistically is still very surprising). BID was the obviously safe choice for LT because it was the poppiest. Rebellion was the final actual single from THP, but even if we look past that idea, the only reason Final Masquerade was a single was because the label wanted it. It was still SUPPOSED to be the first if LP didn't push for GATS so heavily, so FM can only nab this by circumstance. Hell, in terms of LP, UIG may have been a poppier choice given its classic LP structure (sampled keyboard intro -> heavy instrumental part -> verse -> chorus etc.). There are certainly cases where the last single WAS the poppiest in LP's discography but I wouldn't really call it a trend.
  18. Of the 6 prior albums, the only tracks this actually makes SOME sense for are In The End and LOATR.
  19. Thanks for the opinion but what exactly does this have to do with the topic?
  20. Imagine this: 'Heavy' is doing really well on the charts, but it's hype is dying down. It's time for Linkin Park to choose a second single. They dropped a music video for 'Good Goodbye' with cameos from Pusha T and Stormzy a few months back, and they just released a live performance of 'Invisible' from the James Corden show that millions tuned in to watch. All these tracks with all these exposure? The logical choice for the second single from One More Light? 'Talking To Myself.' Thanks to our friends LPItaly, the news is out that 'Talking To Myself' will be the second official single from One More Light. Music source All Access has posted the impact date for the single: July 25. This comes right before the band embarks on the One More Light North American Tour in Mansfield, MA on July 27, meaning that the band will have a fresh single (hopefully) taking over the airwaves as the band tours. This does leave some speculation as to the situation with 'Good Goodbye' and 'Invisible.' We've heard that 'Good Goodbye' was meant to be a single in Europe, but no traction has gained on that just yet, and 'Invisible' is waiting on the single treatment as well with all the exposure. It was essentially confirmed that 'Invisible' would be the second single, so this is a real curveball (just like the setlists). The song even has its own single art! What do you think will go on for these songs? A third and fourth single? Will 'Robot Boy' somehow come through and be the third single? For updates of Linkin Park and if any more info on this single surfaces, follow us on Twitter and Facebook for the latest.
  21. Confirmed by the venue itself:
  22. So somehow it looks like we all missed out on an entire livestream from an official channel (even if its from the crowd). If you ever find a stream of any sort, be sure to let us know!
  23. For those of you in the UK waiting on a support act announcement for the three shows there, there's some disappointing news - there won't be any bands going on before Linkin Park. But rejoice, because Linkin Park will be playing the longest sets they've ever played on their UK Tour! The band will be taking advantage of not having an opening act by taking the stage at 8:30 PM - and staying on until 11:00 PM. Thats two and a half hours of set time. Even if the band doesn't end up using every single minute of that, these shows will still be the longest shows the band has ever put on. For reference, the longest show the band has ever put on thus far was earlier this month in Berlin. That show clocked in at about 110 minutes (the average time for a headline show is around 100-105 minutes for the band). These UK shows have 150 minutes of set time, beating the record by about 40 minutes! That's huge! With 40 more minutes of set time than usual, who knows what we can expect? As has been the case for pretty much this entire tour, the band's sets have been very unpredictable in terms of rotations. With a whole forty minutes of additional set time, that's enough for about 6-7 more songs - we really can't say with any certainty about what the band will do at these shows. Here are a few possibilities we thought of: The band will play all the songs they have played on the tour at the show. Let's say for argument's sake that the setlists at these shows will be 30 songs, give or take one or two songs, long. With the rotation slots omitted, there's 23 songs in the setlist. There are seven songs the band has rotated in and out of sets at the shows: 'Sharp Edges,' 'Battle Symphony,' 'Nobody Can Save Me,' 'Somewhere I Belong,' 'Points Of Authority,' 'A Place For My Head,' and 'From The Inside.' If the band were to play them all during the show, that'd clock in at 30 songs. Realistically, this is probably the safest option to go with. The band will play a two-part setlist. The set will be split into half, with 15 songs in the beginning followed by a break and 15 more songs. It'd give the band a nice mid-way point to catch a breath and allow for distinctly different portions of the setlist, and there's a lot of different options that can come with this format: a stripped down set and full band set, and old song and new song set... Options are endless! A stripped down section of the set could be really cool and open up a lot of possibilities for some rarer songs - 'My December,' 'Pushing Me Away,' and even 'The Little Things Give You Away' could all be fair game. The band will add some random songs into the setlist. Two songs remain to be played off of One More Light: 'Sorry For Now' and 'Halfway Right.' Not only is this extended set the perfect opportunity to debut the new songs, but it's also the perfect opportunity to play One More Light in its entirety. The album is already one of the band's shortest records yet, clocking in at 35 minutes. That's not even the entirety of the additional set time the band has. Who knows what else the band has up their sleeves that they could bring out last minute? It'd definitely be a really cool move to see the band bring out some tracks we haven't seen performed yet. Of course, these are only options and ideas. We really have no idea what's coming (and if you've followed the last few preshow posts, my predictions have been pretty off too ). What we are sure of, though, is that these shows will definitely be some of the most unique shows in Linkin Park's history. The UK tour kicks off next week on July 3 at the O2 Arena in London, followed by a second night in London titled One More Night in London at the Brixton Academy (the host of Linkin Park's legendary 2001 show), ending it all off in Birmingham on July 6. 24. Chester and Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor have gotten pretty close in recent months, especially since they toured together with supergroup Kings Of Chaos. Their relationship has definitely been evident in the last few months, Taylor defending Chester when he came under fire for the whole "move the fuck on from Hybrid Theory" fiasco. Upon the release of 'Heavy,' Chester also revealed that Taylor had some great praise for the song: Now, Stone Sour is just about to launch their new record Hydrograd (out tomorrow, June 30) and it's a style change for them, too. While it's not as drastic as Hybrid Theory is to One More Light, the sound is definitely noticeable. In an interview with Alternative Press, Taylor, when discussing the story behind single 'Fabuless,' mentioned Chester in his explanation: Cool to see friendships extend out like this, especially between two notable musicians. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook for more Linkin Park news! Stone Sour's new album Hydrograd is out now - if you listen to it, let us know what you think of it (check out my review of it if you need an opinion on it)!
  25. The One More Light European Tour is on its final stretch! Just five shows are left, but the band isn't done covering some lesser-seen territory. The band is returning for their first show in Sweden in six years today at Norrköping for the Bråvalla Festival! Linkin Park hasn't had the best luck when it's come to Swedish festivals in the past... This is the third festival in the country the band has been scheduled to play, but (hopefully) the first one they actually get to play. The first was in 2003 - the Hultsfred festival. The band was forced to cancel their whole summer European Tour (which included stops at Rock am Ring and Pinkpop) when Chester was hospitalized for severe abdominal pain. The band returned to the festival in 2008, but to no avail; this time, Brad was severely sick and doctors ordered him to not travel. Sadly, they didn't have Benjamin to cover for him back then like they did in 2014 and 2015! A show was also planned in Sweden to begin the Hybrid Theory European Tour in the fall of 2001, but the show (along with one in Denmark) were cancelled just days before the show began. These cancelled festival appearances were unfortunate, but it didn't stop the band from performing in Sweden altogether. All the cancellations from previous years made it so that the band didn't perform in Sweden until 2007, and they came in with style. It was only the second show of the first official tour of the Minutes To Midnight touring cycle when the band performed in Stockholm, so the band had a lot of fresh noise to bring to the stage. 'Leave Out All The Rest' and 'The Little Things Give You Away' were performed for the second time ever, while songs like 'No More Sorrow' and 'Given Up' were still churning with new-found live energy. Mike talked about being on the road for the first time in awhile before 'No More Sorrow,' and a fan managed to throw a bra right onto his micstand, making for a pretty funny clip! The band returned to Stockholm in 2011 for the A Thousand Suns tour, bringing new songs from the album to the set. This show marked the beginning of the rotation between 'Blackout' and 'Burning In The Skies' throughout the rest of cycle. Additionally, Mike's vocoder didn't work at the end of 'Numb,' leading for a rare cleanly sung Oppenheimer Outro! Need a laugh? Check out one fan's epic aim as they launched a bra onto Mike's micstand. Watch your ears, though - good ol' 2007 camcorder quality. The band's most recent performance on the tour was in Sopron at the Telekom VOLT Festival, for their first concert ever in Hungary. The band definitely brought a few treats: 'A Place For My Head' was brought back into the mix after the band changed up the rotation cycle for the heavy slot later in the set, and Mike rapped 'Reading My Eyes' during the bridge of 'Bleed It Out!' 'Faint' was not the closer for this show as 'Bleed It Out' returned as the show closer, and 'It's Goin' Down' was rapped over the end of 'Castle Of Glass.' The 'Battle Symphony' and 'Nobody Can Save Me' slot was skipped. A safer setlist for sure, but still a unique variation for the tour. What can we expect in Sweden? As usual, it's hard to say for certain, especially with so many more moving parts to the set. At this point it's safe to assume 'Battle Symphony' or 'Nobody Can Save Me' won't be in the set (and if one of them is, it's likely the latter). For the heavy rotation, 'Somewhere I Belong' should be next, but it could easily be any of the four (the choices are 'Somewhere I Belong,' 'Points Of Authority,' 'From The Inside,' and 'A Place For My Head'). Will 'Faint' closing be another rotation introduced into the set, or was that just a one-time deal? We'll find out at this show! 'Bleed It Out' closing the show in Sopron! Check out the killer 'Reading My Eyes' verse at 1:45 in the video. There's a pretty unique set of bands playing before Linkin Park at Bråvalla. Right before LP is a big throwback: 80's hair metal band Danzig will play their second show of 2017 right before Linkin Park. You can expect some of their new tracks 'Last Ride' and 'Devil On Hwy 9' to be played, as well as previous hits like 'Mother.' Before them, gypsy punk band Gogol Bordello will grace the stage, with new single 'Saboteur Blues' and their older hit 'Wonderlust King' in the set. Familiar faces Of Mice & Men will play before them (maybe we'll see Aaron Pauley join the band again? The Ballad Medley is no longer in the set, so he'd have to sing on something other than 'Iridescent'), and before them Adept. That's a pretty intense and diverse lineup! Is anyone going to the show? After this show, the band headlines Rock Werchter (which may be webcasted) on July 2 before heading to the UK for three shows. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates on the setlist!
