  1. If you don't think Chester's death affected TTM's performance you're crazy.
  2. The Kings Of Chaos (the lineup today featuring Corey Taylor, Matt Sorum, Robert DeLeo, Steve Stevens, and Franky Perez) and Julien-K's Ryan Shuck are playing at the Rock To Recovery event today in the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles, California. According to the event's website, "Rock to Recovery was created to help soothe the restless souls of those in recovery. We do this by creating a “band” and writing and recording songs together with Rock to Recovery’s staff of professional musicians, who are also in recovery. We help bring fun into treatment and recovery by offering a natural escape from the fear-based mind. This helps people grow a sense of belonging and self esteem. We help to vent emotions by writing lyrics and singing together for release, in real-time. We tie in a positive theme of hope in recovery throughout the whole process. When the session is done, our “band” members feel a new energy all throughout their minds and spirits." The show will be honoring Corey Taylor and MC5's Wayne Cramer, but it'd be shocking if they didn't mention Chester at some point. Chester has performed with Kings Of Chaos since their inception and they were all close friends (in fact, Chester was supposed to perform at this event with the band). Ryan Shuck was also very close to Chester, being part of Dead By Sunrise and Chester being a huge supporter of Julien-K. Shuck said that he'll be playing a dedication to Chester at the event with Wes Geer and will be trying to stream it on the Dead By Sunrise Facebook Page, so keep an eye out for that. Chester performed at the event last year with an All Star Jam band, singing Stone Temple Pilots' 'Vasoline' and Led Zeppelin's 'Whole Lotta Love.' Watch Chester and Kings Of Chaos perform a whole lotta covers at their show in Boston in December 2016. What are you guys expecting the bands to play at the show? If you're a rock n' roll fan, definitely check out the Kings Of Chaos' performances. We don't know what anyone will play, but we'll keep you updated. Ryan Shuck recently performed Dead By Sunrise and Grey Daze songs with members of both bands at a special memorial event for Chester, so perhaps he'll play one of those songs at this event. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates.
  3. Following Chester's death, Linkin Park sent out 'One More Light' as a sort of promotional single (and mostly as a gesture to Chester given the song's beautiful meaning). It was rumored that the song would be the next single after plans for 'Talking To Myself' were scrapped, and it looks like it's finally coming to light. According to All Access, the single 'One More Light' will be released to radio on October 3, which is in about two and a half weeks. This could mean anything, but it really seems to be a good sign for the band moving forward. Mike's wife Anna even teased that she was listening to some creative stuff going on in the studio, so hopefully the band is healing and recovering just like we are. EDIT: AllAccess is saying that 'One More Light' will impact the Hot/Modern/AC stations on October 2. It's still expected to roll out to the Top 40/Mainstream radio on October 3. What this means for the band going forward could be anyone's guess. There's still the unannounced Chester memorial the band will be hosting in the coming months and the tour dates in Japan at the beginning of November that remain uncancelled, but that could change any day, as it is a big decision for them. Take this however you want, but from what it seems like, Linkin Park is back. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook for more updates - we'll keep you up to date.
  4. Steve Aoki was one of the big collaborators with Linkin Park in the last decade that really got them on a grind to work with more artists on their music. 2013 saw the release of their first song together, 'A Light That Never Comes,' that would later be featured on RECHARGED. The artists collaborated again in 2015 for Steve Aoki's last album, Neon Future II, for a song called 'Darker Than Blood.' As a way of celebrating Chester's life and his music, Aoki is launching a brand new remix entitled 'Darker Than The Light That Never Bleeds (Chester Forever Steve Aoki Remix).' He played it for the first time today on SiriusXM and it will be launching on Apple Music and Spotify worldwide tomorrow (it's currently out in Australia already). EDIT: The remix is officially out. Listen on Steve Aoki's official YouTube channel. Net proceeds of the remix will go to Music For Relief's One More Light Fund in Chester's name. Let us know what you think of the mashup! The Aoki songs are a big hit-or-miss here - did this mashup make you like either of the songs more? Keep an eye out on our Twitter and Facebook page for more updates on Linkin Park. No word on whether or not the Japan shows in November are cancelled, but with every passing day it seems more and more likely that they will be happening, so be ready for those.
  5. I still don't understand why people think Mark Wakefield would be a suitable replacement. It's like all common sense is escaping your brain. The only vocals we've seriously heard from him (so excluding White Pegacorn) were performed 20 years ago, and pretty badly at that. He hasn't been performing at all for the last 20 years either. Saying Miley Cyrus would be a suitable replacement is a more accurate statement that saying Wakefield would be. At least she's used to performing.
  6. We told you we weren't done! Not that this is necessarily the capacity in which we wish we were going on, but we're forging ahead nonetheless. We all celebrated when Chester announced earlier this year that he would be reuniting with his first band, Grey Daze. Unfortunately, those shows will never actually end up taking place (they were going to happen a few weeks from now in Tempe, and another rumored for Las Vegas). However, we're still getting Grey Daze live in 2017. Grey Daze and members of Dead By Sunrise/Julien-K will be teaming up for a special acoustic performance today at the Saxe Theater in Las Vegas - and it'll be livestreamed! The lineup is Dead By Sunrise's/Julien-K's Ryan Shuck and Amir Derakh and Grey Daze's Mace Beyers and Sean Dowdell. This is a pretty special show. It's in honor of Chester, of course, but historically it's a big gig for all of us, as well. This'll be the first time Grey Daze has performed in any capacity since October 1998 - that's almost two decades! Their last shows were with a singer named Jodi Wendt, as Chester had already left the band in order to dedicate his time to Linkin Park (at the time they would've been Hybrid Theory/Xero). Another Grey Daze reunion was scheduled to happen in 2002, to benefit former member Bobby Benish, who unfortunately was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The show was cancelled as Chester could not make it, as the record label forced them to return to the studio to continue work on Meteora. Benish unfortunately died in 2004 and the show never happened. We don't have any videos from the Jodi Wendt era of Grey Daze, but here's one of Chester's last performances with the band in 1997, performing the song 'The Down Syndrome.' Julien-K ended a tour earlier this summer opening for Pig on their Prey & Obey tour, which took them across the United States. For those unaware, Julien-K and Chester have always been very close, members of JK working with Chester on the side-project Dead By Sunrise. Chester even sang an entire Julien-K set once, at Tinley Park, Illinois on Projekt Revolution 2007 when lead singer Ryan Shuck had to attend his brother's wedding. The show must go on! Chester joined the band throughout the tour to perform 'Technical Difficulties' with them as well. This isn't from Projekt Revolution 2007, but watch Chester perform 'Technical Difficulties' with Julien-K at their very first show ever at Club Tattoo 2006. There aren't many of us who can make it out to Las Vegas for this show and we'd all love to see Grey Daze live for the first time in years, and we're in luck! The show will be livestreamed on Facebook Live tomorrow. The show starts at 12:00 PM PST and goes until 2:00 PM PST. Check below for all the info you'll need. As far as what the set will entail, we're not entirely sure what to expect. Grey Daze requested that everyone attending know the lyrics to Dead By Sunrise's 'Let Down,' 'Morning After,' and Grey Daze's 'The Down Syndrome.' Beyond that, we're not sure what else they'll all play together. What songs would you like to see performed? SETLIST: 1. Morning After (Acoustic) 2. The Down Syndrome (Acoustic) 3. Let Down (Acoustic) - Sean didn't perform with the group. Who's excited for the show? It may be the last time these songs are ever performed live, and though it's a bittersweet goodbye, it'll be a nice send off all the same. Let us know what you want to hear and if you'll be watching the livestream. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates on the future of Linkin Park, and if you're still hurting or know someone who does, refer to the LPLive Help Line Discord and we'll do our best to help you out. Stay strong, everybody, and let's rock!
  7. "Last edited April 2015"
  8. None of us are saying Mike can perform every song. We're saying he'll find a way with what the band's discography looks like to make a cohesive and great Linkin Park set when they do return to touring. I don't think anyone going will expect 'One Step Closer' or 'Given Up' or anything like that after Chester's passing, at least not the majority (since I'm pretty certain at least 80% of the people who'll attend these shows will have some heart). Mike writes most of the songs that are successful and therefore can write songs he will be able to sing, and with how good his range has become over the years it shouldn't be a problem. You're right that none of us know what's going to happen and both choices are probably just as likely, just from our own perspectives we THINK they will go on as a 5 piece and therefore we're discussing how it could work. I'm even willing to go further to say it's less likely they'll hire someone else because I don't think any of them think anyone could do the songs justice. Time will tell.
  9. Looks like they just made a mistake on the site. It's the July 4 show, as is every video on that playlist.
  10. Just preordered my copy. Really gotta get the rest of the albums on vinyl at some point.
  11. The official Linkin Park Twitter just tweeted out a new message regarding how the band is doing and a quick diagnostic on plans for the future: The band is looking to host a special event in Los Angeles in Chester's memory soon with details to follow in a few weeks. What's interesting and perhaps most relieving about this message is that Phoenix wrote "The five of us are so grateful for all of your support as we heal and build the future of Linkin Park.' Whatever that means, it seems as if the band isn't calling it quits just yet, but still need time to figure out how things will play out. The band will choose whatever is best for them and we will support it 100%. Until then, we'll all keep healing together. If you're still having trouble coping, the LPLive Help Line Discord chat is still very much alive and active. For any updates on Linkin Park be sure to follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page.
  12. Making a casual bump here - if anyone is still hurting and needs to talk to someone now that it's been a month, feel free to join! Still a very active chat.
  13. Is this the first time No Roads Left is available on vinyl? Only LP vinyl I actually have is OML, might grab this one too.
  14. Well, looks like this thread's coming back into play with the Indonesia thing. sad to see all the blue slashes though
  15. It's an official video but it wasn't meant to be released today. Makes me hopeful though, it does seem like the band are at least making it known that they're getting ready to continue on into the future. If they wanted to say goodbye this would've been something far more personal, but instead it feels like a celebration. That last shot is like a "we'll never forget you" kind of thing. Really sweet and even a bit exciting.
  16. Calling us morons for finding a place to put information of Chester's funeral doesn't really look good on your part either. Just because it's listed amongst the show pages doesn't mean it has to classify as a gig. It's the most reasonable place to put the information that we have from it and what songs WERE performed in honor of him.
  17. Wow that's a really good point. That goes with the whole "Chester can't be replaced" idea a lot of us have. Then again, how can you still keep Linkin Park sounding like Linkin Park without Chester, you know? We'd have to wait and find out I guess.
  18. It's been just about a week and a half since Chester tragically left us, and though it was truly a crushing thing to go through, the entire Linkin Park community united and became closer than ever before. Chester's love brought us all together unlike anything we've ever seen before and it really showed that the Linkin Park soldiers were more than just a fanbase; we are a family. As our minds clear and we start looking forward again, there's a question that must looming in a lot of our minds: what's next for Linkin Park? Will they move forward without Chester? CAN they move forward without Chester? There's been an open discussion on it in the forums already, and there's been some good ideas thrown around here and there. Some outlets have already been posting about it, and none of them have really offered definitive conclusions and instead just discussed their own idea of what Linkin Park is. We've been thinking long and hard about what's next for the band, and here are some of the conclusions WE have thought of. 1) Mike takes lead. We all know Mike can't take the place of Chester in terms of some heavier songs like 'One Step Closer' and 'From The Inside,' but over the years Mike has really shown that he has risen up to become more than just Linkin Park's rapper. He's the genius behind the band. There are dozens of songs where Mike takes over completely, such as 'When They Come For Me,' 'No Roads Left,' and 'Until It Breaks.' Mike has really been showing his frontman capabilities on 'Invisible' as well, getting the crowd pumped and walking around the stage like he owns the place already. There's enough songs for Mike to perform in the discography and his voice and presence has gone up exponentially through the years. On some of the more iconic songs that rely on Chester, there's no doubt Mike could try and think of something to do over it (there's countless verses he can draw from for the bridges of certain songs). This man mashed up five songs for the 'Mashup Intro' in 2014 and somehow thought up a mashup of 'Fallout' and 'Roads Untraveled.' And just look at the Fort Minor sets from 2015! Plus, I don't think we can go without ever hearing 'Sorry For Now' performed live. And lastly, there will be new material someday by these guys.... which will need to be played. If there's a Shinoda, there is a way, and this likely is the most obvious solution for Linkin Park. 2) Play Chester's parts on playback. Now this one is a bit more debatable, but it could ultimately be a good move, at least initially. Astat described a pretty good way of making this work in the existing discussion: "just continue as a 5-piece and have Chester's vocals on playback with an empty mic stand under a spotlight at his spot at the front of the stage. Maybe collaborate with other artists in the future but never actually try to replace him." This doubles not only as a way to keep the show going flawlessly every night but also as an amazing memorial, so to speak, for Chester every night. The crowds will probably sing louder than ever during Chester's parts at future shows, and singing along with him, whether he's there or not (as evidenced in this year's performances of 'In The End'), will always intrinsically be a part of any Linkin Park show. There's not really a good way to replace Chester considering just how good a vocalist he was, so why try? If not, maybe just performing 'One More Light' in this form as a tribute is a possibility. 3) Continue as a 5-piece under a new name/Fort Minor. There was a lot of controversy surrounding Chester joining Stone Temple Pilots in 2013, many fans of the band saying that it just wasn't STP anymore without Scott Weiland. I'm sure a lot of you would have a similar reaction if the band went on without Chester. While losing Chester is a HUGE blow, we have to remember that there are five super talented members of Linkin Park still breathing and who will undoubtedly return to music again one day. If the band wants to continue altogether, they can keep the Linkin Park name OR just tour under Fort Minor or a new name without Chester. This option, personally, feels like it could be more of a detriment to them and realistically just unproductive considering how huge of a name and brand Linkin Park really is, but it's a possibility that's been brought up quite a bit. 4) Become a studio-only band. You might be saying, "Linkin Park is one of the world's best live bands. That's impossible." While the times certainly have changed for the music industry and the circumstances different, this is a route The Beatles took back in their prime. I'm sure you've already heard of the issues with streaming and releasing music in the industry today, but I don't think the band will have any problems with royalties thanks to just how popular and groundbreaking their music has been over the last two decades pretty much. Linkin Park isn't a band in it for the money, either. They want to CREATE. They're at the point where money probably won't ever be an issue for them again, so they won't have to worry much about balancing their budgets with income. It'd be a real shame to never go to a Linkin Park concert again, but if there is no alternative, I think we'd all appreciate new Linkin Park music in the future than nothing at all. 5) Try and find a new vocalist. Let's all be honest: truly replacing Chester is next to impossible. But that's not to say there are at least some vocalists out there who can do the songs some justice live. Some pointed out former Dry Cell singer Jeff Gutt. His band was fairly popular back in the heyday of "nu-metal" (cringe at the term yet?) back in 2001, and he proved he has a great clean voice in his performance of 'Hallelujah' on America's Got Talent awhile back. Not quite Chester levels but a good vocalist all the same. There's also the possibility of bringing in two vocalists (as several bands on the post-hardcore scene already do) to replace Chester: one for the screams and one for the cleans. Honestly, this option might be a detriment to the band even if there WERE a person who could truly replace Chester just because of chemistry and dynamic reasons. All the same, that's an avenue they can take. 6) Perform with guest vocalists. This option could definitely be a fun one, but it'd come with severe limits. Linkin Park could bring out a slew of guest vocalists every night to come out and sing some songs with them on stage. It'd certainly be pretty fun for us to cover every night, especially if there's some wildcards in there, but for the band it'd place a limit on when you can play and where you can play. There are lots of logistics involved with this avenue and it'd be hard to get to some places. It'd be fun to see an all-star lineup every night at Linkin Park shows but if they go this route, it'd be a difficult one. Plus, how would new music factor in? 7) Give the fans a chance to perform. This one is more of a fun and interesting idea than anything else. After Chester left Stone Temple Pilots in 2015 they began looking for a new singer, but by unconventional means. They opened up a contest to the whole world and took submissions from fans who wanted a shot at being able to perform with the band. The assumed winner is a man from the Philippines. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a sort of contest for every show or possibly every tour for fans to be able to sing Chester's parts? Sign Broman up. Get the fun times rolling with the fans because there is A LOT of talent in the community! It's likely going to be awhile before we see Linkin Park back in action. As of right now, the band's tour dates in Japan in November are still on-sale even though LP hasn't issued a statement on the future of the band at this point. It's okay to discuss and speculate, but remember that just like us, Linkin Park will need time. Don't expect any definitive answers soon. Fort Minor will likely be back someday. The other band members will likely be back someday. It'll just take time. What we can tell you is that Linkin Park is almost definitely NOT over. At the end of their heartbreaking message to Chester, they said the following: "Our love for making and performing music is inextinguishable. While we don’t know what path our future may take, we know that each of our lives was made better by you. Thank you for that gift. We love you, and miss you so much." Whatever route they take, Linkin Park will be back one day, whether it's in November for Japan, or in 2018, or in a few years. They've always turned our pain and struggles into something we can make into power to move us forward. It's our voices right now that are showing them that we are ALL healing through this together, even the band members. Mike, Brad, Dave, Rob, and Joe - we hope you're all doing well. We'll all heal one day at a time and you guys take as long as you need to heal. We'll be here when its time for you to come back. And most importantly - we respect any decision you make 100%. To all the fans - if you're still hurting, be sure to join our awesome LPLive Help Line Discord chat for some help and to make loads of new friends. Check out the memorial page we set up for Chester on our Exclusives Wiki, and also be sure to check out the big doc of Chester Memorials if you want to attend one nearby! Follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page for future updates on the band. LPLive is here to stay. So is Linkin Park.
  19. Thank you both for joining and for all the help. Hope you feel right at home here
  20. This is an awesome initiative, definitely going to donate. Glad to see us all coming together for something awesome.
  21. You guys should consider READING the actual memorial page and searching it before posting ones that are already listed lol
  22. You've been a huge huge help to the Discord chat. Thanks so much for everything you do and hopefully you feel at home here as well!
  23. A few nights ago we opened our Twitter DMs to those who needed help and had no one else to go to, because there were far too many people telling us they had no one to talk to. However, there were simply too many people to respond to (we're talking hundreds and hundreds). The Twitter is managed by Mark and I and as much as we wished we could have talked to all of you, it was just impossible. Something important to know when you're sufferring and in pain is that you're not hurting alone. Especially in a circumstance like this, it's good to know that you're not alone in how you feel. We wanted to open up a public chatroom where everyone could talk amongst each other and heal together, so we opened up the LPLive Help Line Discord group. It's a place to talk to others who are hurting about Chester, the band, and how you're feeling. To join the chat, click this link! Right click on your name on the side bar and add your language/change your username to what you want and you're good to go. We've got some great new team members who really rose to the occasion to help us out with the chat and really showed massive help and selflessness. A big thanks to some of our new staff/helpers: Wanheda (Germany) lostShadow (Germany) Stingernet (France) SkyFox (Netherlands) Sarinnah (Finland) TShibbsLP (Michigan) Akayes (Michigan) Sorina-Costache (Romania) Stephanie (Australia) If you haven't joined the chat yet, I highly recommend you do, even if you're not looking for any help yourself. You can help others or just talk to others about Linkin Park and more. We've really build a great community there and everyone is welcome to join, of all languages and creeds. Don't be a stranger and don't be afraid to tell us how you feel. We're all here for you. Remember if you're feeling down to read this message I posted to everyone hurting. Remember you are loved. That's important. We'll get through this together, and time will heal everything.
  24. Ever since the news broke about Chester, the world showed unfathomable support and poured their heart out for Chester. We thought it would be a nice idea to put together a page of all the musicians and stars who said things about Chester. Special thanks to lpliveusername for putting it all together. Check out the page on the LPLive Exclusives Wiki. Everyone from Rihanna to Jared Leto to David Draiman wrote about Chester, and seeing a lot of the messages is very heartwarming. Chester impacted so many lives and inspired so many people. Here are a few excerpts from the page: Jared Leto: So, uh, you know, it's been a really tough few days. You know, we said goodbye to somebody in recent days that was an amazing artist, and incredible human being, somebody who I know probably touched everybody in this entire amphitheater, and he touched me personally as well. You know, Chester... Ladies and gentlemen, make some noise for Chester. It's funny. I learned a lot watching him live his life. He taught me so much and when I close my eyes and think about him, I think about his face which was always smiling. I think about his heart which he wore on his sleeve. I think about how kind he treated me, my brother, Tomo, the band. I think about what he taught me about pursuing your dreams, pursuing your passion relentlessly, but as the same time being able to have an incredible family. You know, he had six incredible children as well. Every time we spoke, there wasn't a conversation we had that didn't include something about his family. And what you guys I think get a sense of from Linkin Park, and it certainly was an extension of how Chester lived his life, is Linkin Park; it's not just a band, it's a family. And the way they think about you guys, very similar to Thirty Seconds To Mars, it's a giant family and we try to make something more than just get onstage and play music. We try to connect and communicate in a way that's deep and meaningful, and I learned that from Chester. He did it night after night after night after night. And what about that voice, huh? What about that voice? That voice will live forever. Hayley Williams: My Chemical Romance: It's hard to say goodbye but remembering all the people he touched and helped is certainly a good way of starting to heal. Remember if you don't know where to go our how to heal, we're here to talk. Read our PSA we posted yesterday and join out LPLive Help Line chat so you can talk to others who are feeling the same way.
  25. Thank you all for the kind words. It's times like these we have to unite together and heal as one. People need to know they aren't alone. That's one of the best compliments I've ever gotten, thank you so much man. I could have sat back at mourned my life or I could have stood up and helped an entire world of people and the latter is much more important than just myself. All I hope is that even if it's just a few people that I showed them that its okay to hurt and they aren't alone in all of this.
