Fair enough. Probably doesn't mean anything though, likely just an oversight.
-
I'm pretty sure that's because grandson specifically stylizes his name like that
-
Man, even just reading the titles you really get a sense of a narrative. It's like he's speaking from an outside perspective watching himself go through it all. I just keep getting more excited for this album.
-
Even Chester has had a vocal coach over the years. No matter how long you've been doing it, vocal coaches can always help. Look at Chester from the THP era to the OML era. Big difference live.
-
Having a vocal coach doesn't mean changing his voice, it means improving upon what he's already got. It's clear that Mike struggles with some parts, so learning how to really control his voice will definitely help him perform. A vocal coach would improve the show loads.

We already had a discussion about this in the team chat and figured Over Again/Papercut is best. After the 'Papercut' part was over it went back into the end of 'Over Again.'

Setlist picture: If KROQ was the 30 minute set and this was the 50, I can't wait to see what the 90+ minute one in August will be like.
-
What a day. Almost forgot the thrill of the brilliant mind of Mike Shinoda and his setlists. From the KROQ show to the very end of Identity LA there was nothing but passion and gratitude. Incredible that it hasn't even been a year and we're seeing him onstage with just as much as fire and passion as ever before, if not more. And goddamn, 'Sorry For Now' live is something I've wanted from the very first time I heard the song. And the note he hit at the end of it, incredible. I've never been more proud to be a fan of someone. It's like watching one of your best friends succeed in a way they've dreamed about for so long. Mike has always been my favorite of Linkin Park, and while he's definitely no Chester (and never will be), he's Mike Shinoda and today I saw the man who inspires me every day find a new light today. And I've never been happier for him. and just to recap something I said on Twitter: The amount of strength it takes to get onstage not even a full year before a life-changing tragedy is unbelievable, and he showed that and more. Seeing him smile onstage is all we needed. Here's to what's to come.

lol. Classic "you can't see anyone moving on the stream, fuck the US" Have we not learned after YEARS of livestreams that videos are not a good indication of an actual crowd? Grow up, guys. Why shit on a good show just because you think you can do better? Let people have a good time however they want to. EDIT: Additional stream info for Identity LA. Streamer's saving their battery for Hoody, Jay Park, and Mike. If they don't make it to Mike's set we'll do our best to find Periscopes and keep the setlist updated. Keep your eyes on Twitter. https://twitter.com/LPLive/status/995492449584865281

Man, no one reads the posts lol There's a countdown under each of the webstream info spoiler tags.

Can confirm.

Been looking for Identity LA times but got nothing yet. Will keep checking. EDIT: M&G takes place from 8 to 8:30, to Mike will probably be playing at 9 at the earliest

Thought pre-show posts were done? You thought wrong! It's go time, get the hype train rolling. We're back and ready for the action as Mike Shinoda makes his solo live debut for not one, but two live shows on May 12, 2018 in Los Angeles, California! Mike will play the KROQ Weenie Roast in the afternoon before heading over to headline Identity LA later in the evening. The first show of the day - and Mike's first performance ever as a solo act - will be in the afternoon at KROQ's Weenie Roast. He'll be playing pretty early (starting 4:00PM PST to 4:30 PM PST) on the Bud Light Side Stage so that he can head over to downtown Los Angeles for Identity LA afterwards, but we can definitely expect for the set to be energy packed even if its a shorter set. Though Mike won't be sticking around for long, the event will be packed from start to finish! Nothing But Thieves and Bishop Briggs are playing earlier in the day, while Thirty Seconds To Mars, Panic! At The Disco, and Blink-182 will close out the night. It's going to be quite a day! Mike's no stranger to the Weenie Roast even if its first time as a solo act. Linkin Park first played the festival in 2001, playing just before 311 (who played with Shaquille O'Neal, strangely enough.) The set featured all the Hybrid Theory classics like 'Forgotten' (which has an extended bridge with 'Sweet Child O' Mine' by Guns N' Roses) and 'A Place For My Head.' They returned to the festival in 2007, this time headlining, towards the start of the Minutes To Midnight cycle. This is the show where Mike played the iconic Hello Kitty guitar and played it on 'From The Inside!' They headlined again in 2011, where a surprise performance by the Foo Fighters delayed the set a bit, causing it to be shortened. This will be the first time since then that Mike's played the festival. Epic... or cute? Check out this epic performance of 'From The Inside' from the KROQ Weenie Roast in 2007, topped with Mike's Hello Kitty guitar. It's looking like the show will be webcast! Information has not been released, but it has been confirmed that KROQ will be broadcasting the event on their website. We're not 100% sure if Mike will be livestreamed as of right now (because he's not playing the main stage), but hopefully we'll get that info soon. Stream information can be found below. Link: https://kroq.radio.com/weenie-roast-webcast Time: 4:00PM PST (Countdown / Time Zone Converter) The fun doesn't stop there. A few hours after Mike makes his debut performance at KROQ, he'll be in Downtown Los Angeles headlining the city's Identity LA festival. Identity LA is a celebration of Asian Pacific American culture, and it's a no-brainer that Mike's involved. This will be his first headlining performance at a festival as a solo artist - his first fully solo headlining performance will take place this summer. If you're in Los Angeles, you might want to organize your schedule - Identity LA is completely free. You'll still want to get there early, though - the park is going to fill fast. Interestingly enough, the park is the same place where thousands of Linkin Park fans paid tribute to Chester in July. The atmosphere is definitely going to be something special. On top of Mike, Jay Park, Hotel Garuda, Hoody, and many more will be performing. Most importantly, though, the food at the festival is curated by Roy Choi - you won't want to miss out on that, either. Mike's heritage is very important to him. A Thousand Suns is essentially based on the atomic bombs dropped in Japan, and the Fort Minor song 'Kenji' is about the troubles his grandfather experienced in internment camps during World War II. Check out this performance of 'Kenji' (mashed up with 'Castle Of Glass') Mike performed in 2015 as Fort Minor. This would be a great song to see performed. EDIT 5/11: Looks like Identity LA will be getting a livestream too! We're not currently sure about the quality, but from what we can tell, K-FAM Media Productions will be livestreaming the event on their YouTube channel (confirming on their Facebook page that they will be streaming Mike's set, too). Details are below: Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Qt-rAhKkpU Time: 9:05PM PST (Countdown / Time Zone Converter) What can we expect from these shows? It's anyone's guess, really. The only song that's essentially confirmed is 'Remember The Name,' as Mike posted a clip of him rehearsing the song on his Instagram story a few days ago. We can also expect to hear 'Crossing A Line' and 'About You,' since those two are singles. 'Place To Start,' 'Over Again,' and 'Watching As I Fall' from the Post Traumatic EP will likely be performed too, as well as 'Nothing Makes Sense Anymore.' It's hard to say what exactly we'll hear beyond that. New songs from Post Traumatic is definitely a possibility. Mike held a Twitter poll a few weeks ago asking what song fans would want to hear him perform, with 'Roads Untraveled' winning at the top, followed by 'Sorry For Now,' 'Petrified,' and 'In Stereo,' respectively. Perhaps he'll only play the winner, or maybe a couple from the poll. The Apple Music playlist Mike made a few weeks ago may be a sneak peek at what is to come, and it's 40 songs long. We can't say anything for certain, so all we can do is wait with anticipation! Feel free to make your own setlist and post what you think he'll perform in the Custom Setlists thread. Who's excited for the shows? They're bound to be incredibly special, and even if you can't be there, the fanbase online will definitely be keeping the energy going. It'll be some time before Mike's next performances after these (as of right now), but he'll be back: his Post Traumatic Tour will really kick off at the end of July, when he performs at Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons' LoveLoud festival in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 28. From there, he'll be embarking on the first real leg of the tour in Asia, starting in the two currently announced cities, Hong Kong and Thailand (which will end up being his first solo headlining performances, unless another show is announced earlier) in August. He'll keep touring throughout Asia and Europe for the rest of August, performing at big festivals like Japan's Summer Sonic and England's Reading and Leeds. Mike Shinoda's Post Traumatic album is out next month, and he's just released the tracklist! Place To Start Over Again Watching As I Fall Nothing Makes Sense Anymore About You (feat. Blackbear) Brooding (Instrumental) Promises I Can't Keep Crossing A Line Hold It Together Ghosts Make It Up As I Go (feat. K.Flay) Lift Off (feat. Chino Moreno & Machine Gun Kelly) I.O.U. Running From My Shadow (feat. Grandson) World's On Fire Can't Hear You Now Lots of interesting stuff going on - we've obviously heard six of the tracks already (the Post Traumatic EP songs 'Place To Start,' 'Over Again,' and 'Watching As I Fall,' as well as the singles 'Crossing A Line' and 'About You,' and also 'Nothing Makes Sense Anymore.'), and with 16 songs overall, there's still double-digits of tracks we haven't heard yet. The features are looking awesome, too: the up and coming grandson features in 'Running From My Shadow,' Mike's new friend K.Flay (who he hung out with a couple months back when he saw Imagine Dragons perform) on 'Make It Up As I Go,' blackbear who we've already heard on 'About You,' and, perhaps the most exciting, Chino Moreno from the Deftones and Machine Gun Kelly on 'Lift Off.' This album's bound to be packed with awesome, powerful music. Who's excited for the record? Post Traumatic is out on June 15, so be sure to pre-order it if you haven't already. Mike begins touring for Post Traumatic this Saturday, May 12, with two shows in Los Angeles. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates on Mike's music and tour, and join the LPLive Discord for discussion on the band and more!

He was planned for the second stage for awhile now... Shorter show because he has to go to Downtown LA for the Identity LA show. Makes enough sense to me.
-
Mike's playing at 4:00PM PST on the Bud Light Side Stage. Hopefully it still gets webcasted.
-
How is two massive tours (that unfortunately ended up being cancelled) neglecting the US? They clearly had the intentions to tour around, sucks neither of them ended up happening but I'd hardly call that neglecting us.

Round 2! Mike's run of Asian shows this summer for the Post Traumatic Tour is expanding, his second announced headlining show being in Thailand. Mike will be playing at the GMM Live House @ Central World in Bangkok, Thailand on August 9, with a capacity of up to 3,000, two days after the show he announced a few hours earlier in Hong Kong on August 7. This will be the first time in almost 7 years that Mike has been in Bangkok. The last time was at the very end of the A Thousand Suns World Tour, where the penultimate show of the tour was performed at Aktiv Square. This was a pretty tough show for the band - lots of technical difficulties which ended up resulting in a shortened version of 'Fallout,' and Phoenix had come down with food poisoning and could not perform. The fans were awesome and helped them power through, though, and it's no mystery why Mike will be returning this summer! While riddled with technical difficulties, Linkin Park's set from Bangkok 2011 was still an epic show, featuring classics like 'When They Come For Me' and opening with 'Papercut.' There will be an LPU Presale for the show, which will go live on May 10 at 10am local time and end at May 11 at midnight. Regular pre-sale details will be available on May 9, and the general sale will start on May 14 at 10am local time. This is the second of four shows that Mike has currently announced for his Asia trip. He'll be starting the month off with Hong Kong and Thailand (August 7 and 9, respectively) and will end the leg of the tour in Japan with two shows at the Summer Sonic festival in Osaka and Tokyo (on August 18 and 19, respectively). There's about a week and a half of space in between then, which is enough for another couple of shows. Where else do you think he'll play? China is a big contender. Other possibilities include South Korea, Singapore, India, and perhaps a solo headlining show in Japan. Where do you think he'll go in that span of time? It's a long wait until August, but don't worry: Mike's first performances are coming very soon! He'll be playing two shows in Los Angeles next Saturday, where he'll be doing double duty and playing the KROQ Weenie Roast in the afternoon (which will be webcasted) and Identity LA at night, which will feature a longer set. For those curious about what he'll be playing, it's possible that his new Apple Music playlist is teasing some of the songs he'll be playing. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for more tour updates and his live shows, and join the LPLive Discord for discussion on the band and more! Asia, it's your time to shine. Mike Shinoda's first official solo headlining show has been announced, and it's in Hong Kong! After teasing two announcements last week, Mike has announced that the first real leg of the Post Traumatic Tour will take place in Asia. The first date is in Hong Kong, on August 7, at the Star Hall - KITEC, a venue with a 3,600 capacity - Hong Kong must have really wanted Mike! This will be a few days after Mike performs at Imagine Dragons lead singer Dan Reynolds' festival LoveLoud in Salt Lake City, Utah at the end of July. This will be Mike's first time in Hong Kong since 2013, when Linkin Park performed there at the end of the Living Things World Tour. This included the 9th LPU Summit, where the band performed a soundcheck for fans. Watch Linkin Park soundcheck 'Victimized (w/ QWERTY),' 'The Catalyst,' and 'In The End' at the 9th LPU Summit in Hong Kong 2013. Mike has also announced a show for August 9 in Bangkok, Thailand. We can expect a couple more shows added in between this one and Mike's appearances in Japan at the Summer Sonic festivals at the end of August. Tickets go onsale at 10am local time on May 17. There will be an LPU Presale from May 10 at 10am local time to May 11 at midnight. Information about the general pre-sale will be available on May 9. Mike's first performances are coming very soon - he'll be playing two shows in Los Angeles next Saturday, where he'll be doing double duty and playing the KROQ Weenie Roast in the afternoon (which will be webcasted) and Identity LA at night, which will feature a longer set. For those curious about what he'll be playing, it's possible that his new Apple Music playlist is teasing some of the songs he'll be playing.
