  1. Two things are certain in this world: 1) pre-show posts will always be late and 2) Linkin Park will return to Germany. Back for their second German show on the One More Light European Tour, Linkin Park are performing at the Hurricane Festival in Scheeßel (how on Earth do you say this), Germany. Typically, this second paragraph is where we put a history of the band's previous performances in a city or country. Not today, for two shocking reasons: for one, this is one of the mythical cities in Germany that Linkin Park hasn't played a show in, and Germany has so many shows played in it that this paragraph would end up being a novel. A few quick stats you might enjoy, though: this is the band's second show in the state of Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony), with the other being Hannover 2008, and this will be the band's 58th full show in Germany (that's not counting any promo performances). Yes, I had to go count that by hand. The band returning to Germany means good things - for us! Not at this show, but at the Hurricane Festival's sister festival, the Southside Festival, there will be a livestream! Linkin Park will be playing that festival the day after this show (so, tomorrow), so make sure your calendar is cleared for June 25. We'll have more information about it on the day it happens. A Linkin Park concert and Germany are essentially synonymous at this point, but it has come with its legendary moments. Here's a show everyone knows and loves - Rock am Ring 2004, featuring a big intro of 'Don't Stay' with the Gacela Intro and a bunch of other goodies like 'From The Inside' and the Hip-Hop Medley with parts of 'Step Up,' 'Nobody's Listening,' and 'It's Goin' Down.' The band's show was ironically almost the opposite of this show. Instead of the band performing in a country they always play it, they played in a country that has been dry from Linkin Park shows in recent years. The band visited Madrid, Spain for the first time in seven years, performing at the inaugural Download Madrid. A pretty solid setlist for a big return! 'Somewhere I Belong' returned to the heavy rotation slot for the first time since the second show of the tour in Prague. Mike rapped verse one of 'It's Goin' Down' over the ending of 'Castle Of Glass,' and also said "fuck this, every setlist this tour will be different" and [quietly] rapped verse two of 'When They Come For Me' over the jam piano intro of 'Heavy.' 2017, the year where 'Castle Of Glass' has been mashed up with 'A Place For My Head' and 'Heavy' has been mashed up with 'When They Come For Me.' Next thing you know, 'In Between' with 'QWERTY' as an intro will be in the setlist! Unfortunately, there's no video of the 'Heavy' with the 'When They Come For Me' intro yet (maybe we'll see it happen at this show too and get a video then?), but here's a video of the lovely piano version of 'Crawling.' Hurricane Festival has one hell of a lineup this year. Before Linkin Park plays, Blink-182 will be onstage rocking out to new songs from California as well as all their big hits. The two bands have played together plenty of times this tour, but we've yet to see any Blinkin Park action take place. Will today be the day? Before them, A Day To Remember will rock the stage with cuts from their latest record Bad Vibrations and big hits of theirs. Before them, Royal Blood will dominate with their epic arsenal of tunes including 'Out Of The Black' and songs from their epic new album How Did We Get So Dark? (if you haven't listened to this album yet, be sure you do. It's awesome - check out my review of it if you need an idea). Before them, Jimmy Eat World performs, and then before them, Baroness, The King Blues, and the Alex Mofa Gang will open the main stage. Who's going to the show? Like I mentioned before, there will be a livestream tomorrow for the Southside festival, but not today for Hurricane. For updates on the setlist, follow us on Twitter and Facebook! Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2017 touring schedule here.
  2. shit I'm just going to quietly fix that, nothing to see here Thanks for the catch!
  3. We've hit the halfway point! Linkin Park is officially halfway right through their One More Light European Tour, and we're starting to hit some special spots. The band will be performing today in Madrid, Spain for the first time in seven years for Download Madrid! It has been quite a long time since the band visited Spain. The last show they played with in 2010, at the MTV Video Music Awards, though this show does and doesn't count. Fans weren't invited (and no one went as no one thought it would be a full show), but it was the entire band performing a semi-normal set at the time, though they did drop some of the staple numbers like 'One Step Closer' and 'Given Up.' If you don't call that a real show, then the band's last REAL performance in Madrid was in 2008, when they performed at Festivmad Sur, featuring a really solid setlist featuring 'Cure For The Itch,' 'A Place For My Head,' 'Faint,' and 'One Step Closer' as an encore (god DAMN that's filthy). Five years had passed before the band played that festival - they headlined Madrid in 2003, during the Meteora era. Epic songs like 'Figure.09' and 'P5hng Me A*wy' were featured at that show. This show was actually rescheduled from earlier in the year after Chester had to cancel a European Tour due to having extreme back pains. A show in Barcelona was also cancelled, but never rescheduled. The band's very first visits to Spain were in 2001, amidst the Deftones' 'Back To School' tour. Three shows were played in Spain as Linkin Park joined the tour: Madrid, San Sebastián, and Barcelona. Overall, today's show will be the band's fifth or sixth time in Spain, depending on how you look at it. It wasn't a formally announced show, but a full proshot is available of the band's show at the MTV Video Music Awards in Madrid 2010. You can watch the full show above, featuring songs like 'When They Come For Me' and 'The Requiem.' Be sure to check out the 2008 show too - that one's massive as well. We're back on the festival circuit, but the show before this in Amsterdam was the second headlining show of the tour. The band performed at the Ziggo Dome, brining a great set that garnered a lot of positive reviews. 'Battle Symphony' finally returned to the set after six shows of being absent (it's rotation slot with 'Nobody Can Save Me' was either dropped, or 'Nobody' was performed instead), the band gave 'From The Inside' another spin following its tour debut at Hellfest, and Mike rapped a verse of 'A Place For My Head' over the outro of 'Castle Of Glass.' 'Sharp Edges' also returned as the encore opener. It's another unique setlist for the tour, solidifying its place as one of the most varied tours of the band's career. Nearly every show has been different in some way - how will the show in Madrid compare? At this point, who knows what to expect in Madrid? There are so many factors at this point, it's hard to say what will go down. Will the set be shortened? If so, what will be dropped? What will stay? What will be rotated in? The heavy rotation slot already has four songs in it: 'Somewhere I Belong,' 'Points Of Authority,' 'A Place For My Head,' and 'From The Inside.' Will there be another song, or will the band finally start rotating through these tracks? What verse will go over 'Castle Of Glass?' So far, Mike has done three different verses: 'A Place For My Head,' 'It's Goin' Down,' and 'A Light That Never Comes.' What will come to Madrid? If the band keeps up their two-days per rotation song rule they seem to have been keeping, what should come next is 'Battle Symphony' and 'Somewhere I Belong' (assuming those two rotations are played). What are your thoughts? Listen to that crowd sing! The chorus pause in 'In The End' really brings everyone together nicely, even if the band is fucking with us on the paper setlists. Download Madrid has a brief but powerful lineup for today. Before Linkin Park is Five Finger Death Punch, a band who don't deserve a segue. Before them, A Day To Remember performed songs from their latest record Bad Vibrations including 'Naivety' and 'Exposed,' as well the old classics like 'All I Want.' Code Orange opens up the stage, their latest record Forever delivering some really intense tracks - check out my review of it here if you're curious about it. Definitely a wild set if bands for LP to follow up on, but who's gonna stop them? Absolutely no one. Something to note that's worth mentioning is the fans in Spain are very ready for this show! There was an unofficial Linkin Park fan meetup yesterday at Hard Rock Cafe in Madrid, and it looked like it was pretty sweet! Awesome to see fans coming together for stuff like this. Maybe we should do it, too? Who's going to the show? For updates, follow us on Twitter and Facebook. After this show, the band will return for Germany for the Hurricane and Southside festivals on the 24th and 25th, respectively. In other LP news, Mike has been spotted wearing some new Fort Minor t-shirts onstage, leading us to believe that something FM related may be in the works. Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2017 touring schedule here.
  4. The writing on the shirt is a Martin Luther King, Jr. quote: "I submit that an individual who breaks a law that conscience tells him is unjust, and who willingly accepts the penalty of imprisonment in order to arouse the conscience of the community over its injustice, is in reality expressing the highest respect for law." WJL 2.0 confirmed?
  5. Another day, another show. Another pre-show post written at one in the morning. Let's do it. Linkin Park is playing the second headlining show of the One More Light European Tour on June 20 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands at the Ziggo Dome! This show will be Linkin Park's fourth full show in Amsterdam. The first two they played were in 2001, the first being on Deftones' 'Back To School' Tour. We don't have a setlist for this show (if you know anything, let us know!), but the setlist back then featured plenty of Hybrid Theory tracks like 'Crawling' and 'With You.' The second show of 2001 was later in the fall, when the band returned to Europe for their own headline tour. We don't know the setlist for this show either, but we do know that Chester went out to sing 'Karma Killer' with opening act Cyclefly for the second time. Classics like 'Forgotten' and 'And One' were in the setlist at the time, so those songs were likely featured in the set. The band did not return to Amsterdam for over a decade, usually opting for the Pinkpop festival when traveling to the Netherlands (as is the case for 2007, 2012, and almost 2003). The band finally returned during The Hunting Party European Tour in November 2014, hosting the 12th LPU Summit there (which, to date, is the last LPU Summit to be held after the North American 2015 tour was cancelled). Along with a special soundcheck consisting of 'A Place For My Head' and the reggae version of 'Burn It Down,' the band performed a huge setlist which featured The Hunting Party tracks like 'Guilty All The Same' and 'Final Masquerade,' as well as an acapella version of 'Reading My Eyes' for the first time ever. Mike and Chester visited Amsterdam earlier this year for a promo show (where they announced today's show), playing piano versions of 'Crawling,' 'What I've Done,' and more. Behind the scenes action from the 12th LPU Summit in Amsterdam 2014: the full soundcheck, featuring 'A Place For My Head' and a reggae version of 'Burn It Down!' The last show the band played was a tense one, but in the end (ha) everything turned out alright. Linkin Park performed at the Hellfest in France, performing their new One More Light songs to a heavy metal crowd. Some moments went off really well - the crowd really vibbed to 'One Step Closer' and the first performance of 'From The Inside' on the One More Light World Tour. Others... not so much. It was reported that the band was booed during 'Castle Of Glass,' and Chester even tweeted out that fans were flipping him off during 'Heavy.' It seemed to not come with purely malicious intent, however, because he also said that he blew kisses to them and they made heart signs in return. French music fans, at least you all have a sense of humor. That's something we all appreciate. On top of 'From The Inside,' something else interesting at the show was that since there was no 'Waiting For The End,' Mike apparently did some sort of 'Remember The Name' outro to 'Invisible' - we don't have a video of it yet, so we're not quite sure what it entails. For this show, we're still not too sure what to expect - and we're eight shows into the tour! So far, the tour has only featured one other headlining show, and that was in Berlin. The show was listed as a Mercedes 50th Anniversary Celebration, kicking off with a Mercedes video featuring the band and Chester performing an acapella version of 'One More Light.' Mercedes doesn't have any stake on this Amsterdam show, so we'll have to see if they use the same intro or not. We're also unsure about the status of 'Battle Symphony' and 'Nobody Can Save Me' - neither have been played for the last few shows, and we haven't seen 'Battle Symphony' in more than a week. Has the song already been retired (they really never could get it down pat) and replaced with 'Nobody Can Save Me,' or will the slot return at this show and the songs be rotated? For the "heavy" rotation slot later in the set, there are four options that rotate every two shows (from the look of things): 'Somewhere I Belong,' 'Points Of Authority,' 'A Place For My Head,' and 'From The Inside.' Since 'From The Inside' just made its tour debut at the last show, its very likely they play it again in Amsterdam, but you never know. Whether or not 'Sharp Edges' is played is also a question, too. Was it just a one-off for the Mercedes anniversary, or will it return for headlining shows? We'll find out. Many questions will be answered in Amsterdam. 'From The Inside' returned to the setlists (after earning the second spot in Mike's setlist poll - maybe it was the plan all along to include both songs!) for the first time on the World Tour at Hellfest. Pretty damn great performance, too! Crowd seemed to love it. A special note about this show... the band will be recording a live video for 'Talking To Myself'! It will be done in a similar form to the 2011 'Waiting For The End' (Chicago/St.Paul) and 2014 'Until It's Gone' (Milan), where fans film the song, upload the footage and it's all synced together with the soundboard audio. Here's how it turned out last time... Opening for Linkin Park will be Sum 41, who also shared the stage with the band at the recent show at I-Days Milano in Monza, Italy. The band are touring in support of the latest record 13 Voices, performing some new songs 'Fake My Own Death' and 'Goddamn I'm Dead Again.' They also have some past hits in their set, including 'Fat Lip,' 'Still Waiting,' and 'In Too Deep.' If you go to the show, you won't be disappointed, especially if you're a fan of that late-90's/early 2000's pop punk era. Who's going to the show? Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates. After this show, the band has a day off before returning to Spain for the first time in seven years for Download Madrid. Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2017 touring schedule here.
  6. There's lots of shows on this European Tour, but this is the one we've all been waiting for the most. Linkin Park's next stop on the One More Light European Tour is in Clisson, France at the Hellfest. This will definitely be one hell of a show. got em For those who haven't been keeping a close eye on the tour, this will be the band's second show of the tour in France. The last France show was the tour opener, at Download Paris in Brétigny-sur-Orge. A standard headline set minus an encore break was played, with all the goodies like the 'Fallout' and 'Roads Untraveled' mashup going into 'Talking To Myself' and new songs like 'Battle Symphony' (which we haven't seen in awhile) and 'One More Light.' This will be the band's 15th show in France, and since we already went over the history of the shows here in the Paris post, we'll stay light on a history lesson for this one. Check out the extensive look at the band's France shows in the past in the Paris show thread. The band's most recent show was the day before this one in Monza, Italy at the I-Days Milano festival. The band managed to put together a stream for the show at the last second, though it was definitely a unique one; instead of being a livestream, it started about an hour after the show had begun and was released in edited thirty minute segments. We saw all the songs the band performed in glorious proshot view, though, so it was well worth it. Another great set from the band (though Chester did seem a bit off) that saw 'A Place For My Head' in the set and (finally) a great recording of the 'Remember The Name' intro to 'Waiting For The End.' The first verse of 'It's Goin' Down' was rapped over 'Castle Of Glass,' the 'Nobody Can Save Me' and 'Battle Symphony' slot was dropped likely due to time, and Mike rapped verse one of 'Reading My Eyes' over the bridge of 'Bleed It Out,' making it the first time since Amsterdam 2014 that the song featured in a setlist, the first time since Darien Center 2014 that the song was featured over 'Bleed It Out,' and the first time since Bayern 2011 that it was featured over the bridge of 'Bleed It Out.' Phew. The 'Remember The Name' intro to 'Waiting For The End' really hasn't gotten enough credit. No proshot footage from Monza has been uploaded yet, so check out these performances of 'Invisible' and 'Waiting For The End' from the band's show last month in Las Vegas. There is a reason this show has been to most anxiously awaited one so far. It's the Hellfest, a heavy metal and rock festival. On the bill for this fest is Aerosmith and Deep Purple opening the other days, with bands like Opeth, Autopsy, and Rancid also on the bill... then we have Linkin Park headlining while supporting one of their poppiest records yet. There are plenty of songs in the set that'll fit the bill just right: 'One Step Closer' and 'Faint' will definitely work well with this crowd. Songs like 'Burn It Down' and 'Good Goodbye,' however... maybe not so much. There's a lot riding on how the setlist will go for this show, and there are probably two likely outcomes: a) the band says fuck it and plays the same setlist, because they're Linkin Park and they can do whatever the fuck they want, or, they change up the setlist and add a few heavier cuts into it in place of some softer songs. It's must more likely they go with the first option, but it's not unheard of for a band to this. An example is Muse, who headlined the Download Festival in 2015 and added heavier cuts into their setlist, like performing 'The Handler' for the first time and adding 'Citizen Erased' and 'Dead Star' into the mix too. For Linkin Park, they could add 'From The Inside,' 'Somewhere I Belong,' and all the heavy rotation songs into the mix and even whip out something like 'With You' by surprise, but perhaps it'll make a bigger statement if they don't make any changes at all. Either way, we don't really want to see the band get booed or bottled. If they remember their show at Reading Ireland 2003, surely they won't want to experience that, either. Muse wanted to appease the crowd who fans of heavier music at their Download headlining show and added many of their heavier cuts (like this song, 'Micro Cuts'). Will we see Linkin Park do the same? Based on who's going on before Linkin Park, they may need to appease the crowd. Supergroup Prophets Of Rage are on right before, playing several covers of songs by Rage Against The Machine, Cypress Hill, and Public Enemy. Interestingly enough, a member of the band - Chuck D - stopped by Linkin Park's rehearsals back in March. The band has worked with him before, namely on the epic remix of 'Wretches and Kings' he did. That'd be a good song to see added into this set to work with the crowd. Before the Prophets comes Alter Bridge, who are touring for their latest record The Last Hero (read about it here, if you're interested in it). They'll likely play a few songs from that album as well as some classics like 'Addicted To Pain.' Before them: A Day To Remember, Black Star Riders, Motionless In White, The Devil Wears Prada, and Northlane. It's going to be pretty packed. Of Mice & Men will also be playing this festival, so maybe we see an onstage collaboration happen with them, too. Definitely check out this remix of 'Wretches and Kings' by HavocNdeeD featuring Chuck D if you haven't already. One of the best remixes of the band ever, and that's not an understatement. Is anyone going to the show? There is a livestream of the festival, but sadly they don't stream the headliners, so don't expect to see the band on it if you tune in. You can check it out here if you're interested. For updates on the show, follow us on Twitter and Facebook. What do you think will happen? Will the band play a normal show or make some changes? Let us know in a reply. After a short one day break, the band will play their second headline show of the tour in Amsterdam before returning to Madrid for the first time in 7 years for Download Madrid. Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2017 touring schedule here.
  7. Based off this stream I don't think there is one haha
  8. He's not playing today, but that's a collab I don't think we need to have a lot of footage of
  9. Webcast confirmed. Will be held at the start of the next hour and will likely be the full show. Not live but proshot footage is definitely welcome (hopefully this means some fancy shots).
  10. We're approaching the midway point of Linkin Park's One More Light European Tour, and it's showing no signs of slowing down. Linkin Park are performing the sixth show of the tour in Monza, Italy at the I-Days Milano festival on June 17! Italy was one of the last places The Hunting Party World Tour visited, the last show of the last leg in Europe taking place in Rome in 2015. A big finale indeed, opening with a consecutive onslaught of 'Papercut,' 'Given Up,' and 'Rebellion.' Joe was absent from this show due to some family issues back in the States, so his solo medley was dropped from the set. A bit of a tragic story involving a fan gave way to one of the band's most iconic onstage moments: a fan named Alessandro sadly passed away in a car accident before the show, so the band played an impromptu performance of 'A Place For My Head' (his favorite song) as the encore opener in his honor. Earlier on The Hunting Party tour, the band hit Italy again, playing the Alfa Romeo City Sound festival in 2014, playing some songs like 'Guilty All The Same' and 'Until It's Gone' which were fresh out of the oven at the time. This show in Monza will be the band's fifth time performing in (or around) Milan. The first time the band performed there was in 2001, opening for the Deftones on their 'Back To School' Tour. The band returned later in the year to play a show for MTV Live. Neither of the setlists for these shows are known, so if you have any information beyond what we have, do let us know! The band returned in 2003, kicking off the Meteora World Tour in Milan on the LP Underground Tour. The setlist saw the debut of many songs off of Meteora, including ultra rare tracks like 'Easier To Run' and 'Hit The Floor.' This show holds the record for the most live debuts in the band's history at one show, with a whopping eight songs from Meteora being performed for the first time. That show was the last show there until the 2014 show. Take it back to the Hybrid Theory days with this old-school performance of 'By Myself' at the band's MTV Live show in Milan 2001. This entire tour has really been something special. Pretty much every setlist on the tour has been different: the tour debut in Paris and the next show in Prague saw the full set performed without an encore break, an intimate moment with the song 'One More Light' happening in Prague as Mike spoke about his uncle Kenji who had recently passed away; the first headline show of the tour in Berlin saw the live debuts of 'Nobody Can Save Me' and 'Sharp Edges,' with 'Points Of Authority' making a return to the set, along with a brand new acapella version of 'One More Light' opening the set and 'It's Goin' Down' being rapped over the outro of 'Castle Of Glass,' making it the song's first appearance since 2008; the show at NovaRock in Austria seeing a shortened set; and at the Impact Festival in Poland, the most recent show, 'Nobody Can Save Me' saw its festival debut and the band added in 'A Place For My Head' after seeing the results of Mike's Twitter poll (and 'A Light That Never Comes' being rapped over 'Castle Of Glass,' making it the song's first appearance since 2014). If only we had some live recordings from this tour... Sadly, no sources have surfaced yet. Phew. Let's take a moment to absorb all of that. We're only six shows into the tour, and we've already seen more distinct setlists than we saw on the entire Hunting Party tour. Let that sink in for a second. The band clearly has a new mentality when it comes to the sets now, and it's really looking awesome. There's not two entirely different sets, but instead a few spots of the setlist that rotate every few shows (as it is now, it seems positions change every two shows). One rotation slot is mid-set, 'Battle Symphony' and 'Nobody Can Save Me' being switched. The other is a heavy rotation near the end of the set, with 'Somewhere I Belong,' 'Points Of Authority,' and 'A Place For My Head' currently in rotation there. 'Sharp Edges' is added to the encore of headlining shows. It's uncertain if the 'One More Light' intro will stick around, so we'll look passed that one for now. It would be great to get a few more songs into rotation - some of you had some great ideas, like at the positions where 'Wastelands' is at and at the position 'Crawling' is in. The 'Wastelands' spot would be a great place for some heavy, early-set rotations like 'No More Sorrow' and 'Rebellion' - we gotta get some more Hunting Party representation into the mix. 'Crawling' could be a fun place that can be put together pretty quickly, playing a random acoustic/piano version at every show, opening up possibilities like 'My December' and 'Pushing Me Away' to be brought into play. So many possibilities, so little time! Maybe we can see some more changes introduced when the band comes to North America this summer after they rehearse some more. What do you think would be a good opportunity for a rotation spot in the setlist? With this format, anything's possible, so go wild! For Milan, based on the two-show rule, we're guessing we see 'Battle Symphony' and 'A Place For My Head' performed. Mike, if you're reading this, you might want to bookmark this post so you can get some ideas next time you're in rehearsals. We have some fun ideas, and we know you like those Watch the tour debut of 'A Place For My Head' in Poland from the last show. Fun fact - you can hear Mike singing when Chester starts screaming the bridge, which is an element of the song that was present in the demo version 'Esaul,' which you can hear on the LPU 11 CD. As far as festival lineups go, this one is pretty damn epic. We have some pseudo-Blinkin Park action going on with Blink-182 playing before Linkin Park. Their set features plenty of songs from their latest record California and many classics like 'Dammit' and 'All The Small Things.' Will we see an onstage collaboration happen? Who knows. In the same punk ballpark as Blink, Sum 41 goes on before them as they tour for their newest record 13 Voices. New songs from the album can be heard as well as classics like 'In Too Deep.' A newer band on the block (but a fantastic one all the same), Nothing But Thieves go on before them, with Sick Tamburo and Linoleum opening the day. EDIT: A webcast will be happening in one hour! This will be a delayed webcast (so if any surprises happen we'll probably already know about it), but it will be proshot footage of the entire show. It starts at the top of the hour (countdown here), so don't miss out! There will be brief intermissions every few songs for an adbreak, but nothing should be cut as far as we know. We'll be covering the entire thing on social media, so follow us there! Stream Link: https://www.idays.it/it/idays-channel Who's going to the show? We'll keep you updated on any changes in the set, so be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates. Add our Snapchat too. After this show, the band returns to France for another show, this time at the Hellfest. After Hellfest comes the next headlining show of the tour in Amsterdam, so be on the look out for updates from that, too. Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2017 touring schedule here.
  11. Linkin Park is continuing to roll across Europe as the One More Light European Tour chugs ahead, bringing the fifth show to Krawków, Poland for the Impact Festival. The band is no stranger to Poland. This will be the fifth time the band performs in the country! The first was in 2007, near the end of the Minutes To Midnight European Tour in the summer, where they played in Chorzów and opened for Pearl Jam. Despite a few songs being dropped for time restraints, the band still delivered a huge setlist with the likes of 'No More Sorrow' and 'The Little Things Give You Away' in the set. This was one of three shows the band was set to play with Pearl Jam in 2007 - Poland, Lisbon, and Venice (which was canceled). The band didn't return for five years, finally returning in 2012 for the Living Things European Tour at the Orange Warsaw Festival. A massive setlist indeed, with 'A Place For My Head' opening the show and returns of 'With You' and 'Runaway,' among others. In 2014, they hosted a huge stadium show in Wrocław. This was an extraordinarily large headlining show for the band and the crew later said that it was the best show of the tour for Linkin Park. Linkin Park returned on The Hunting Party European Tour the very next year to play Rybnik. The band rocked several huge tracks, including the critically acclaimed 'A Line In The Sand' and even a version of one of their Steve Aoki collaborations, 'Darker Than Blood.' Due to the success of the 2014 show, it was no surprise that LP came back the very next year....and here we are again in 2017 for their fifth show in Poland! The band's last show was in Austria for the NovaRock festival. Linkin Park played an abbreviated set due to time restrictions - the regular festival headlining set returned, but 'Battle Symphony,' 'Waiting For The End,' and 'One More Light' were all omitted from the setlist. Interestingly enough, however, 'Somewhere I Belong' was dropped but replaced by 'Points Of Authority.' 'Points' wasn't brought back into the equation until the band performed their first headlining show of the tour in Berlin a few nights ago, and that was in a different setlist. It seems possible that this part of the setlist may be a rotating slot, changing every two shows or so. We'll see if anything interesting happens at this festival show - the winner of Mike's Twitter poll is unsurprisingly 'A Place For My Head' (winning with literally half the vote), so we can expect to see that song added into the setlist any show now, most likely in this rotating slot. It wouldn't hurt to see 'From The Inside' performed either, as it did garner quite a few votes. The Hybrid Theory representation in the setlists is pretty good already, too, so adding in 'From The Inside' would vary it up a bit more. We'll see what happens! It is also possible that 'Sorry For Now' or 'Halfway Right' could debut in a third setlist, but Poland might be set up for the Berlin setlist again instead. Due to how many festivals are on the tour, it might prove to be difficult to rotate three setlists with this run having shortened festival times. Berlin came with plenty of surprises - including the live debuts of 'Nobody Can Save Me' and 'Sharp Edges!' Check out 'Nobody Can Save Me' live in Berlin above. Linkin Park is back to taking the headliner's position as closing act of the night here, but the opening acts will definitely get the crowd readied up for the show. Opening the night is Polish pop rock singer Krzysztof Zalewski (have fun trying to say that), the man who won season two of Polish Idol. Anyone outside of Poland probably hasn't heard of him, but he has a few pretty popular songs, including 'Bo Jestes Ty' and 'Byle Było Tak.' Everyone's favorite rapper Machine Gun Kelly goes on afterwards, touring in support of his new album Bloom. This is the third time he's opened for the band this tour already, and while it will be the last time on the European Tour, he will be opening up for the band all summer long in North America. His setlist for the Berlin opening slot was brief, featuring three new songs from Bloom including 'Bad Things' and 'At My Best,' as well as some older ones like 'Alpha Omega.' The five song set closes out with 'Let You Go' from the new album. No onstage collaborations have happened yet, but like on Warped Tour 2014 when he rapped over the 'Bleed It Out' bridge at the band's surprise performance, something been the band and him can be expected. Perhaps not at this show, but definitely on the North American Tour. Anyone going to the show? Let us know! Follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates on the show - we'll keep you updated on if anything changes. Unrelated to this show but rather to the tour itself; the closing date of the tour, Manchester, has been cancelled as the arena is closed until September following the terrorist attack last May outside the venue. There is no official word from the band on the status of whether they'll have another show there or if it's cancelled altogether, but stay tuned for updates. Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2017 touring schedule here.
  12. After a successful first headlining show in Berlin, Linkin Park are ready to keep their streak of great shows going. Linkin Park are playing at the first "warm up" day of the NovaRock festival in Nickelsdorf, Austria! This isn't the first time the band will be taking the stage at NovaRock - this is the fourth time the band will be playing it! Their first was in 2007 at the end of the first Minutes To Midnight European Tour, where they played before Pearl Jam. The setlist featured new songs like 'The Little Things Give You Away' and 'No More Sorrow,' among others. Fun fact (or not-so-fun fact, really), this show was almost cancelled due to the band's gear getting damaged a few shows prior at the Heineken Jammin' festival in Italy when a sudden, violent tornado struck the festival grounds. The crew had to piece together what working gear they had and what he festival had for the band to go on. They returned in 2011, opening their A Thousand Suns Summer European Tour with a headlining spot at the festival. This was the second show on the entire cycle to not feature 'Jornada Del Muerto' before 'Waiting For The End.' A year after, the band returned for the Living Things tour, but their set was delayed by about 45 minutes due to severe weather. Still, they found time for new songs 'Burn It Down' and 'Lies Greed Misery,' as well as some tracks they hadn't played in a long time, like 'Points Of Authority.' Living Things was brand new when the band visited Austria in 2012, so this performance of 'Lies Greed Misery' was one of the first. The band's most recent show, their headlining show at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, was full of surprises. The most striking aspect of the setlist were the two live debuts! Two more tracks from One More Light were performed live: 'Nobody Can Save Me' and 'Sharp Edges.' 'Nobody Can Save Me' replaced 'Battle Symphony' in the set, while a stripped down version of 'Sharp Edges' featuring Brad, Chester, and Rob was added to the very start of the encore. Other surprises included a new intro to the show, featuring Chester singing an acapella of 'One More Light' after a screening of Mercedes' "50 Years Of AMG" clip and 'Points Of Authority' returning to the setlist by complete surprise, replacing 'Somewhere I Belong.' Oh, and don't forget Mike whipping out the first verse of 'It's Goin' Down' over the extended outro of 'Castle Of Glass' - the first time the song was featured in a Linkin Park setlist since Las Vegas 2008! While Linkin Park will likely be returning to the classic festival setlist at this show (even though they aren't the closing band - Fatboy Slim is playing last on the mainstage), there may be a surprise lurking. After asking us about how we felt about the setlists, Mike launched a Twitter poll asking fans to vote on what song they should add to the setlist: the vote was between 'A Place For My Head,' 'From The Inside,' and Shaggy's 'It Wasn't Me.' While it's fairly obvious which song is winning ('It Wasn't Me' got jacked, honestly), we wouldn't be upset with any of these choices. 'A Place For My Head' is a classic as we all know, and 'From The Inside' would get some more Meteora representation into the set. We also politely asked for a third set with 'Sorry For Now' and 'Halfway Right' (the only songs from the new record that haven't been played yet) to be put into rotation... so keep your eyes out for that one, too. We don't know when the winner of Mike's Twitter poll will be added to the set, but both actual songs are ones the band doesn't need a lot of time to rehearse, so it could be at any point. We'll keep our eyes peeled and our ears alert, and you should too. A rare verse of 'It's Goin' Down' was rapped over 'Castle Of Glass' in Berlin. First time something other than 'A Place For My Head' was performed over the ending, and the first time the song has been played in a Linkin Park set since 2008. Mike performed it as Fort Minor in 2015! As mentioned before, Linkin Park isn't the final act of the day. This show is only the warm up show for the festival, so the mainstage is the only one that's open, and Linkin Park is playing second-to-last; Fatboy Slim plays after them. The English DJ will perform plenty of well-known tracks well into the night. Before Linkin Park will be the infamous Five Finger Death Punch, who are playing their first show since they apparently broke up... yesterday. Read up on the situation, it's actually quite hilarious (and expected of them). Also performing on the mainstage is Steel Panther, a band that loves sex. I'm not kidding. Their entire new album Lower The Bar (check out my review here if you haven't heard it) is just sex references. Fair play. Who's heading to the show? If anything surprising does happen, we'll be the first to let you know, so follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates, and add our Snapchat for some fun stuff. Don't miss our latest Grey Daze exclusive featuring live performance footage from 1997. In Linkin Park news, Brad's recent interview with Billboard has brought up the possibility of b-sides from One More Light, and Mike was spotted wearing a new Fort Minor shirt lately, possibly meaning new merch (and music?) is on the way. He spent 13 hours in a studio today in Europe, so who knows! Next month, Linkin Park will be launching a new virtual reality experience called Linkin Park VR Destination that'll actually let YOU go onstage with them... in virtual reality. Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2017 touring schedule here.
  13. Brad recently did an interview with Billboard talking about the new album, and dropped some particularly interesting information. He began the interview expressing his thankfulness to the fans for the success of One More Light, talking about the album's #1 debut and more: He continued on to talk about the album writing process, and said something interesting: That could mean a number of things. The first thing to spring to mind: b-sides! We haven't gotten a proper b-side from the band since A Thousand Suns with 'Blackbirds,' and some of the band's most beloved songs happen to be b-sides, like 'No Roads Left' and 'Across The Line' from Minutes To Midnight. This could also mean that the band will revisit some of the material they wrote for this record on the next one. It's not unheard of; plenty of songs were finished in other album cycles. 'A Line In The Sand' was originally 'Odyssey' when it was written during the A Thousand Suns cycle, and we are all familiar with 'Primo' from A Thousand Suns that eventually became 'I'll Be Gone' on Living Things. Linkin Park often go back in their arsenal to pluck some seeds and work them into actual songs, so perhaps we'll see this happen with the One More Light tracks. We'll have to wait and find out! It's been far too long since we've gotten a proper b-side from the band, and this sounds like the perfect opportunity. Be sure to read the entire article, there's lots of good stuff in it. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook for any news regarding new music.
  14. It is literally in the setlist of which you posted a picture of
  15. All that's left is Sorry For Now and Halfway Right, and I think it'll be crime if neither of them get played (especially SFN)
  16. As many of you probably remember, the band's first full band appearance of the cycle was when they performed 'Heavy' with Kiiara back in February on The Late Late Show With James Corden. Along with 'Heavy,' the band performed 'Invisible' (after getting off to a bumpy start with it), too. That performance will be airing tonight! Be sure to tune in live to watch it at 12:37 EST (9:37 EST) on CBS. The performance will likely air at the end of the show, so you can probably tune in in the last 10 minutes to catch it if you don't want to watch the whole thing Follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates, and add us on Snapchat, too! We'll post some videos of the show there if you can't catch it.
  17. Like Mark said, full setlist isn't out yet, so we don't know what to even complain about yet. And if you're going to complain, make knowledgable, constructive complaints instead of something foolish like this. Read the setlist notes. First OML was an acapella intro to the show, the second was a full performance. and it's such an emotional and powerful song, I'm sure no one will care that much about it being played twice anyway. I will say it's not the ideal opening to the show but you're blowing up about it in the wrong ways. God forbid they drop older tracks to promote the album they're currently touring in support for. Shame on them, you're right. (This isn't 2007. They can do whatever the hell they want.) I have no recollection of Mike ever saying that, either. And in case you didn't notice, on top of all that, they didn't. Yeah, the lead single of the new album they are touring in the encore is a silly move. Riiiiight. Chester absolutely nails this song live, but given your attitude you probably haven't paid much attention to that (also considering it's been this way since May?) 'Somewhere I Belong' was dropped and replaced with 'Points Of Authority,' and also this is the second set. Hell, there'll probably be a third set with another older song in that slot for the North American Tour. It clearly wasn't dropped for any of the new songs; they dropped a new song to make room for another one, in fact. SIB has run its course, too... if its your favorite song, sure, its a bummer, but much like in 2014 they'll probably rotate the song. Calm yourself. As said before: God forbid they play more tracks to promote the album they're currently touring in support for. Honestly, what do you think this is? A lot of comments have been posted lately that are just pure asinine, and we've been responding to them as you've probably noticed, too. Coming into conversations without any constructive criticisms that clearly show you have no idea what you're talking about is just silly. What happened?
  18. Ever wanted to be Linkin Park? Probably just so you could add 'A Place For My Head' into the set. Come on, we know you. Don't lie. Well, you won't be able to make any executive setlist decisions, but you will soon be able to experience what it's like to be part of the band onstage while they perform! Spatialand and Intel are partnering with Linkin Park to bring a unique concert experience where YOU are the performer. The new app, Linkin Park VR Destination, will launch next month on July 27 via the Spatialand app. It will be compatible with the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive and bring a lot of content, including music, exclusive merch, special contests, the ability to unlock secret fan experiences created by the band, and more. It is unknown if the launch will have anything to do with the North American Tour this summer (as the article specifically points out that tour starts on the same day the experience launches), but as we find out more we'll keep you updated. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook for more info, and add us on Snapchat as well. November update: Mike and Joe visited ComplexCon, and did an Intel virtual reality "Linkin Park" demo. You can see footage from the Making of One More Light included. There is currently no information on whether the Making of OML will be released or not, or if the Intel VR experience will be made available for fans.
  19. Linkin Park are back where they love to be the most (if the 2014 European Tour didn't prove that, nothing will): Germany! The band are performing their first headlining show of the One More Light European Tour today, June 12, at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany. Linkin Park has performed in Berlin a whopping 11 times, one of which have been this year already, when the band performed 'Heavy' with Kiiara at the ECHO Awards back in April. The last time they played a full show in Berlin was back in 2015, near the end of the final leg of The Hunting Party World Tour. Lots of good stuff in the set in 2015: 'A Line In The Sand' and 'Rebellion' sounding loud and proud off the new record, 'From The Inside' made a return, and Mike was still on the heels of 'Welcome.' Mike even played a Fort Minor show there the day before Linkin Park played, adding a new version of 'High Voltage' into the setlist. The band performed there on the 2014 European Tour as well, filming the show for a release that never ended up happening (likely in part thanks to the audio problems that occurred during the first few songs). Bounce back to 2012, to the band's Telekom Street Gigs show in Berlin (that was released!) and find performances of 'With You' and 'Runaway' that were brought back after years as well as Living Things songs like 'Lies Greed Misery' and 'Burn It Down.' A show in Berlin kicked off the second leg of the A Thousand Suns World Tour in 2010, tracks like 'When They Come For Me' and 'Waiting For The End' still fresh off the burner. The band brought Projekt Revolution to Berlin in 2008, and opened up their second encore with the massive 'A Place For My Head.' 2007 was a legendary show, as it was the first show of the Minutes To Midnight cycle, and so it featured the live debuts of 'No More Sorrow,' 'Given Up,' and 'What I've Done,' giving fans the first taste of the heavier side of the record. A mashup of Fort Minor's 'There They Go' and 'Faint' was played so that a fan could play guitar on 'Faint,' as he wouldn't know the extended outro the band added to the song (that is now a staple part of every show). The band had to make up a show in Berlin in September 2003, as the original show scheduled for that June was cancelled after Chester was hospitalized due to severe back pain. The band's first show ever in Berlin was played when they were opening for the Deftones on their 'Back To School' Tour in March 2001, playing songs like 'By Myself' and 'Forgotten' as Hybrid Theory was taking the world by storm. The band came back again later that year for their own headlining show, starting the tour there after the previous show in Hamburg was cancelled out of respect for the September 11 attacks that occurred in America. 'Step Up' saw its live debut at this show, and Chester sang part of the 'A Place For My Head' demo 'Esaul' during the song. Talk about making a mark on history. One of the most unforgettable videos in Linkin Park's history is this video of 'No More Sorrow' from Berlin 2007. No cameras were allowed at that show, so when this clip of a never-before heard - not to mention heavy as hell - song surfaced, it through the fanbase into a frenzy. This show definitely has potential to make a mark on Linkin Park's history, too. The band has gotten their European Tour off to a running start, playing festival shows at Download Paris in France and visiting the Czech Republic for the first time in 9 years for the Aerodrome Festival yesterday. This is the band's first headlining show of the tour, so it's not unreasonable to expect something different. Both previous shows featured the same setlist, 'Talking To Myself' opening to show after the 'Fallout' and 'Roads Untraveled' mashup intro. Lots of One More Light songs feature in this set - 6, to be exact. That includes all the singles like 'Invisible' and 'Good Goodbye,' as well as the powerful title track 'One More Light.' Mike dedicated 'One More Light' to his uncle Kenji who had recently passed away, giving the song an extra personal touch. Chester has been giving it his all at these shows, really letting his emotions run - the acapella outro of 'Breaking The Habit' has been a particularly powerful moment of the set, too. What to expect from this show isn't completely clear. On one hand, it won't be very surprising to see the same set performed again, perhaps with one or two additions or changes ('Fallout' into 'The Catalyst' would be an obvious one). On the other, there has been a lot of promise for this show from a number of sources, including the band themselves. Chester claimed that the band rehearsed 'Sharp Edges' in a tweet, while Mike posted about him practicing a new song on Instagram. No additions were made to the set the band has been playing, so perhaps they've prepared something new for Berlin and the following headlining shows. Additionally, a close friend of the band, Warner Bros Records executive Tobias Fance has said there will be some surprises in the band's set in Berlin. It's not unheard of for the band to do something like this; in 2012, the band had two distinct setlists: one for headlining shows with songs like 'Blackout' and 'Tinfoil,' and another for festival shows, which featured 'A Place For My Head' opening. Prague really brought their all for the band, too. Check out 'Breaking The Habit' from the Aerodrome Festival yesterday, absolutely everyone getting into it, especially during the ending. Opening for the band at this show will be Machine Gun Kelly, who will open up for the band later this summer during their North American Tour. He's fresh off the heels of his new record Bloom (check out my review of it if you need an idea of what it's like - but don't expect too much out of it), performing songs off of it like single 'Trap Paris' and 'Bad Things.' He's also performing a cover of Blink-182's (who will also be playing some shows with the band this summer) 'All The Small Things.' It's possible an onstage collaboration happens, too: at the band's surprise Warped Tour performance in 2014, MGK came out and rapped part of his song 'What I Do' over the bridge of 'Bleed It Out.' Perhaps we'll see something similar to that happen at this show! Watch Machine Gun Kelly drop a verse of his song 'What I Do' over the bridge of 'Bleed It Out' back in 2014. It's pretty likely we see a collaboration happen at some point this summer - will it be similar to this? Is anyone heading to the show? The band has two more shows in Germany later this month, at the Hurricane and Southside festivals. Hurricane is usually webcast, so hopefully we'll be able to watch the band from home at that show! As far as headlining shows go, the next one will be in Amsterdam on June 20, and after that comes four shows in the UK to end the tour off in July. On the site, be sure to check out our new Grey Daze exclusive featuring live footage from 1997 of a song called 'Drag' ahead of the band's reunion this fall. For updates on the show, follow us on Twitter and Facebook, and be sure to add us on Snapchat for some cool stuff, too. Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2017 touring schedule here.
  20. The One More Light European Tour is a go, and it's taken off running! After a successful first show in Paris, France for Download Paris, Linkin Park is continuing their festival circuit in Europe in the Czech Republic, performing at the Aerodrome Festival in Prague on June 11. For fans in the Czech Republic, this is big news. This is only the band's third show there, their last one being Brno in 2008, an epic set featuring a rare performance of Xero's 'Reading My Eyes,' as well as other goodies like 'The Little Things Give You Away,' 'From The Inside,' and 'No More Sorrow.' They played Prague in June 2007 at the start of the Minutes To Midnight touring cycle, playing songs like 'Leave Out All The Rest' and 'What I've Done' that were still fresh at the time. Thirty Seconds To Mars opened for the band at this show, seven years before the Carnivores Tour happened! Their first show in the country was in 2003, with Meteora songs like 'Figure.09' and 'Don't Stay' still going fresh in the set. This show was actually a make up show, the show earlier in the year in June being cancelled due to Chester being hospitalized due to severe back pain. Another fun fact: this is the band's first time playing the Aerodrome Festival. They were apparently set to play an Aerodrome Festival in Austria in 2004, though this festival was completely unrelated to the one the band will be playing today and ended up being cancelled before the band announced their performance. A rare and epic performance of 'Reading My Eyes' in Brno 2008. It would be great if we ever saw this song performed again. The band kicked off their tour yesterday in Paris, France, performing at Download Paris for the first time. They performed the same set they were playing in South America earlier this year, though they played the headline variation of it instead of the shortened festival version. This set features a whopping SIX new songs from the new record, including 'Battle Symphony,' 'Invisible,' and 'Heavy.' It opens with the haunting start of the 'Roads Untraveled' and 'Fallout' mashup into the energetic sounds of 'Talking To Myself' (though Mike seemed to mess up the keyboard part during the first verse at this show) before rolling into some big tracks like 'The Catalyst' and 'One Step Closer' with an epic intro similar to the one from 2007. No changes were made to this set, but there's still hope. It seems unlikely that the band will change up the setlist for this show, but there's always a possibility. Chester confirmed the band has rehearsed 'Sharp Edges,' and Mike also said he was rehearsing a new song for the set. None of those are in the current set, so perhaps we should keep our eyes and ears open for the headlining shows. The band has several headlining shows set up, the first being in Berlin, Germany the day after the show. It could be like in 2012, where the band had a headlining setlist and a festival setlist that were very different from each other. A close friend of the band, Tobias Fance, also said that Berlin will have some surprises. All we can do now is wait and see! Production levels have exploded for this tour. Check out the crazy lights for 'One Step Closer' in Paris. There's quite a lineup for this show. Going on before Linkin Park is Simple Plan, who are currently touring for the 15th Anniversary of their album No Pads, No Helmets... Just Balls. This is a festival, and they don't seem to be performing the full record at festival shows, but you can expect several songs from that album as well as hits like 'Boom' and 'Perfect.' Before them will be Machine Gun Kelly, who will also open for Linkin Park in Berlin and on their North American Tour this summer. He is currently touring in support of his new album, Bloom (I did a review of the album here if you need an opinion... don't expect to be impressed with the record, though). Enter Shikari goes on before them, and they're on the heels of a brand new record as well, with their newest song 'Redshift' in the setlist. Who's going to the show? As mentioned before, the next show will be a headlining show in Berlin, Germany on June 12. For updates on the show, be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook, and add us on Snapchat too. Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2017 touring schedule here.

  22. I don't hear anything that sounds remotely like booing in this.
