  1. Can confirm.
  2. Been looking for Identity LA times but got nothing yet. Will keep checking. EDIT: M&G takes place from 8 to 8:30, to Mike will probably be playing at 9 at the earliest
  3. Thought pre-show posts were done? You thought wrong! It's go time, get the hype train rolling. We're back and ready for the action as Mike Shinoda makes his solo live debut for not one, but two live shows on May 12, 2018 in Los Angeles, California! Mike will play the KROQ Weenie Roast in the afternoon before heading over to headline Identity LA later in the evening. The first show of the day - and Mike's first performance ever as a solo act - will be in the afternoon at KROQ's Weenie Roast. He'll be playing pretty early (starting 4:00PM PST to 4:30 PM PST) on the Bud Light Side Stage so that he can head over to downtown Los Angeles for Identity LA afterwards, but we can definitely expect for the set to be energy packed even if its a shorter set. Though Mike won't be sticking around for long, the event will be packed from start to finish! Nothing But Thieves and Bishop Briggs are playing earlier in the day, while Thirty Seconds To Mars, Panic! At The Disco, and Blink-182 will close out the night. It's going to be quite a day! Mike's no stranger to the Weenie Roast even if its first time as a solo act. Linkin Park first played the festival in 2001, playing just before 311 (who played with Shaquille O'Neal, strangely enough.) The set featured all the Hybrid Theory classics like 'Forgotten' (which has an extended bridge with 'Sweet Child O' Mine' by Guns N' Roses) and 'A Place For My Head.' They returned to the festival in 2007, this time headlining, towards the start of the Minutes To Midnight cycle. This is the show where Mike played the iconic Hello Kitty guitar and played it on 'From The Inside!' They headlined again in 2011, where a surprise performance by the Foo Fighters delayed the set a bit, causing it to be shortened. This will be the first time since then that Mike's played the festival. Epic... or cute? Check out this epic performance of 'From The Inside' from the KROQ Weenie Roast in 2007, topped with Mike's Hello Kitty guitar. It's looking like the show will be webcast! Information has not been released, but it has been confirmed that KROQ will be broadcasting the event on their website. We're not 100% sure if Mike will be livestreamed as of right now (because he's not playing the main stage), but hopefully we'll get that info soon. Stream information can be found below. Link: https://kroq.radio.com/weenie-roast-webcast Time: 4:00PM PST (Countdown / Time Zone Converter) The fun doesn't stop there. A few hours after Mike makes his debut performance at KROQ, he'll be in Downtown Los Angeles headlining the city's Identity LA festival. Identity LA is a celebration of Asian Pacific American culture, and it's a no-brainer that Mike's involved. This will be his first headlining performance at a festival as a solo artist - his first fully solo headlining performance will take place this summer. If you're in Los Angeles, you might want to organize your schedule - Identity LA is completely free. You'll still want to get there early, though - the park is going to fill fast. Interestingly enough, the park is the same place where thousands of Linkin Park fans paid tribute to Chester in July. The atmosphere is definitely going to be something special. On top of Mike, Jay Park, Hotel Garuda, Hoody, and many more will be performing. Most importantly, though, the food at the festival is curated by Roy Choi - you won't want to miss out on that, either. Mike's heritage is very important to him. A Thousand Suns is essentially based on the atomic bombs dropped in Japan, and the Fort Minor song 'Kenji' is about the troubles his grandfather experienced in internment camps during World War II. Check out this performance of 'Kenji' (mashed up with 'Castle Of Glass') Mike performed in 2015 as Fort Minor. This would be a great song to see performed. EDIT 5/11: Looks like Identity LA will be getting a livestream too! We're not currently sure about the quality, but from what we can tell, K-FAM Media Productions will be livestreaming the event on their YouTube channel (confirming on their Facebook page that they will be streaming Mike's set, too). Details are below: Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Qt-rAhKkpU Time: 9:05PM PST (Countdown / Time Zone Converter) What can we expect from these shows? It's anyone's guess, really. The only song that's essentially confirmed is 'Remember The Name,' as Mike posted a clip of him rehearsing the song on his Instagram story a few days ago. We can also expect to hear 'Crossing A Line' and 'About You,' since those two are singles. 'Place To Start,' 'Over Again,' and 'Watching As I Fall' from the Post Traumatic EP will likely be performed too, as well as 'Nothing Makes Sense Anymore.' It's hard to say what exactly we'll hear beyond that. New songs from Post Traumatic is definitely a possibility. Mike held a Twitter poll a few weeks ago asking what song fans would want to hear him perform, with 'Roads Untraveled' winning at the top, followed by 'Sorry For Now,' 'Petrified,' and 'In Stereo,' respectively. Perhaps he'll only play the winner, or maybe a couple from the poll. The Apple Music playlist Mike made a few weeks ago may be a sneak peek at what is to come, and it's 40 songs long. We can't say anything for certain, so all we can do is wait with anticipation! Feel free to make your own setlist and post what you think he'll perform in the Custom Setlists thread. Who's excited for the shows? They're bound to be incredibly special, and even if you can't be there, the fanbase online will definitely be keeping the energy going. It'll be some time before Mike's next performances after these (as of right now), but he'll be back: his Post Traumatic Tour will really kick off at the end of July, when he performs at Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons' LoveLoud festival in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 28. From there, he'll be embarking on the first real leg of the tour in Asia, starting in the two currently announced cities, Hong Kong and Thailand (which will end up being his first solo headlining performances, unless another show is announced earlier) in August. He'll keep touring throughout Asia and Europe for the rest of August, performing at big festivals like Japan's Summer Sonic and England's Reading and Leeds. These shows are going to be full of memories and many firsts, so you won't want to miss out. Join the LPLive Discord for discussion on the band and more, too! 4. Mike Shinoda's Post Traumatic album is out next month, and he's just released the tracklist! Place To Start Over Again Watching As I Fall Nothing Makes Sense Anymore About You (feat. Blackbear) Brooding (Instrumental) Promises I Can't Keep Crossing A Line Hold It Together Ghosts Make It Up As I Go (feat. K.Flay) Lift Off (feat. Chino Moreno & Machine Gun Kelly) I.O.U. Running From My Shadow (feat. Grandson) World's On Fire Can't Hear You Now Lots of interesting stuff going on - we've obviously heard six of the tracks already (the Post Traumatic EP songs 'Place To Start,' 'Over Again,' and 'Watching As I Fall,' as well as the singles 'Crossing A Line' and 'About You,' and also 'Nothing Makes Sense Anymore.'), and with 16 songs overall, there's still double-digits of tracks we haven't heard yet. The features are looking awesome, too: the up and coming grandson features in 'Running From My Shadow,' Mike's new friend K.Flay (who he hung out with a couple months back when he saw Imagine Dragons perform) on 'Make It Up As I Go,' blackbear who we've already heard on 'About You,' and, perhaps the most exciting, Chino Moreno from the Deftones and Machine Gun Kelly on 'Lift Off.' This album's bound to be packed with awesome, powerful music. Who's excited for the record? Post Traumatic is out on June 15, so be sure to pre-order it if you haven't already. Mike begins touring for Post Traumatic this Saturday, May 12, with two shows in Los Angeles. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates on Mike's music and tour, and join the LPLive Discord for discussion on the band and more!
  5. He was planned for the second stage for awhile now... Shorter show because he has to go to Downtown LA for the Identity LA show. Makes enough sense to me.
  6. Mike's playing at 4:00PM PST on the Bud Light Side Stage. Hopefully it still gets webcasted.
  7. How is two massive tours (that unfortunately ended up being cancelled) neglecting the US? They clearly had the intentions to tour around, sucks neither of them ended up happening but I'd hardly call that neglecting us.
  8. Round 2! Mike's run of Asian shows this summer for the Post Traumatic Tour is expanding, his second announced headlining show being in Thailand. Mike will be playing at the GMM Live House @ Central World in Bangkok, Thailand on August 9, with a capacity of up to 3,000, two days after the show he announced a few hours earlier in Hong Kong on August 7. This will be the first time in almost 7 years that Mike has been in Bangkok. The last time was at the very end of the A Thousand Suns World Tour, where the penultimate show of the tour was performed at Aktiv Square. This was a pretty tough show for the band - lots of technical difficulties which ended up resulting in a shortened version of 'Fallout,' and Phoenix had come down with food poisoning and could not perform. The fans were awesome and helped them power through, though, and it's no mystery why Mike will be returning this summer! While riddled with technical difficulties, Linkin Park's set from Bangkok 2011 was still an epic show, featuring classics like 'When They Come For Me' and opening with 'Papercut.' There will be an LPU Presale for the show, which will go live on May 10 at 10am local time and end at May 11 at midnight. Regular pre-sale details will be available on May 9, and the general sale will start on May 14 at 10am local time. This is the second of four shows that Mike has currently announced for his Asia trip. He'll be starting the month off with Hong Kong and Thailand (August 7 and 9, respectively) and will end the leg of the tour in Japan with two shows at the Summer Sonic festival in Osaka and Tokyo (on August 18 and 19, respectively). There's about a week and a half of space in between then, which is enough for another couple of shows. Where else do you think he'll play? China is a big contender. Other possibilities include South Korea, Singapore, India, and perhaps a solo headlining show in Japan. Where do you think he'll go in that span of time? It's a long wait until August, but don't worry: Mike's first performances are coming very soon! He'll be playing two shows in Los Angeles next Saturday, where he'll be doing double duty and playing the KROQ Weenie Roast in the afternoon (which will be webcasted) and Identity LA at night, which will feature a longer set. For those curious about what he'll be playing, it's possible that his new Apple Music playlist is teasing some of the songs he'll be playing. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for more tour updates and his live shows, and join the LPLive Discord for discussion on the band and more! Check out the rest of Mike's touring schedule here.
  9. Asia, it's your time to shine. Mike Shinoda's first official solo headlining show has been announced, and it's in Hong Kong! After teasing two announcements last week, Mike has announced that the first real leg of the Post Traumatic Tour will take place in Asia. The first date is in Hong Kong, on August 7, at the Star Hall - KITEC, a venue with a 3,600 capacity - Hong Kong must have really wanted Mike! This will be a few days after Mike performs at Imagine Dragons lead singer Dan Reynolds' festival LoveLoud in Salt Lake City, Utah at the end of July. This will be Mike's first time in Hong Kong since 2013, when Linkin Park performed there at the end of the Living Things World Tour. This included the 9th LPU Summit, where the band performed a soundcheck for fans. Watch Linkin Park soundcheck 'Victimized (w/ QWERTY),' 'The Catalyst,' and 'In The End' at the 9th LPU Summit in Hong Kong 2013. Mike has also announced a show for August 9 in Bangkok, Thailand. We can expect a couple more shows added in between this one and Mike's appearances in Japan at the Summer Sonic festivals at the end of August. Tickets go onsale at 10am local time on May 17. There will be an LPU Presale from May 10 at 10am local time to May 11 at midnight. Information about the general pre-sale will be available on May 9. Mike's first performances are coming very soon - he'll be playing two shows in Los Angeles next Saturday, where he'll be doing double duty and playing the KROQ Weenie Roast in the afternoon (which will be webcasted) and Identity LA at night, which will feature a longer set. For those curious about what he'll be playing, it's possible that his new Apple Music playlist is teasing some of the songs he'll be playing. 10. It's literally in the thread, not even 10 posts above lol
  11. 10 hours for the first announcement, 12 for the other
  12. Update: Mike posted a second image. "Sawa dee cup" = "Hey guys" in Thai. Thailand date coming!
  13. Solo shows, here we come! It seems that the Post Traumatic Tour is finally starting to get under way. A Mike Shinoda announcement will be coming at 7pm PST on Sunday, May 6 - and it seems like we can expect tour dates! Mike didn't specify, but it's looking like Asia will be getting the first proper leg of the Post Traumatic Tour! In his Instagram post, Mike begins the caption with "大家好," which is Mandarin for "Hello everyone." This hints at China being included in this announcement - or something to do with China. The symbol in the top left is a symbol of Hong Kong, too, so perhaps he'll be performing there. Both China and Hong Kong raised a ton of noise during out Post Traumatic Tour campaign, so it'll be no surprise if he is playing there! If true, these will be Mike's first announced solo headlining shows! All other announced performances so far have been festival appearances, including the Summer Sonic festival shows in Japan, which were the first shows Mike announced overall. These shows will likely take place in the days leading up to the festival appearances in Japan. Mike recently visited China (as seen in the 'About You' music video), but the last time he performed there was in 2015 on Linkin Park's The Hunting Party tour. At the time, he had just started playing 'Welcome' during the sets. It's been even longer since he's been in Hong Kong - the last time was in 2013, when Linkin Park performed there on the Living Things World Tour. They held the 9th LPU Summit there, performing 'Victimized (w/ QWERTY),' 'The Catalyst,' and 'In The End' during the soundcheck for fans. Watch Mike perform 'Remember The Name' and 'Welcome' live in Beijing, China in 2015. UPDATE: Mike posted a second image, beginning the caption with "Sawadeecup," which translates to "hey guys" in Thai. Looks like a Thailand show is coming up! This'll be the first time since 2011 that Mike's been in Thailand, the last being the second to last show of the A Thousand Suns Tour. Thailand is one of few Asian countries he performed in when touring for Fort Minor in 2006, opening for 50 Cent in Bangkok. Looks like an Asia tour IS coming! What do you think is coming? China and/or Hong Kong seem like big contenders here. Who's excited to see what Mike has in store for us? Where do you think he'll be playing? Mike's first performances are coming up fast - under ten days to go until May 12, where he'll be doing double duty and playing the KROW Weenie Roast in the afternoon (which will be webcasted) and Identity LA at night, which will feature a longer set. For those curious about what he'll be playing, it's possible that his new Apple Music playlist is teasing some of the songs he'll be playing. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for more updates about the announcement and his live shows, and join the LPLive Discord for discussion on the band and more! 14. You know, even if he's NOT the main writer or composer of some of these songs, it's still music made by his band that he took part in. He has every right to play whatever song he wants to because regardless of how much input he has, because he at least helped make them. By that logic, Pheonix shouldn't have been allowed to play the HT songs over the last 18 years, but that hasn't stopped him. Hell, if it was a matter of who deserves to play what then covers just wouldn't be a thing.
  15. We're under two weeks to go until Mike hits the stage for the first time since October and for the first time under his new solo project, and we're all eagerly waiting to see what he comes up with for the setlist. He's posted on Instagram that he's getting started thinking about stage design and has talked about what he'll be doing live in a lot of interviews, but a new playlist he just made might give us a few clues as to what he'll be playing. Mike shared a new Apple Music playlist today featuring almost 40 songs spanning his career, from collaborations to Linkin Park songs to his Post Traumatic material. The playlist is appropriately titled "Stuff I Made" - click here to check it out. Beware the spoilers, though! This is some Infinity War level hype. Check out the full playlist tracklist below: Welcome Remember The Name About You Kenji Sorry For Now When They Come For Me Crossing A Line Dirt Off Your Shoulder / Lying From You It's Goin' Down Second To None Until It Breaks Waiting For The End Cigarettes Over Again Where'd You Go Wretches and Kings Watching As I Fall Bleed It Out Castle Of Glass Believe Me Invisible A Light That Never Comes It Goes Through Skin To Bone Petrified H! Vltg3 Big Pimpin' / Papercut In Stereo Hands Held High Devil's Drop High Road Good Goodbye Burning In The Skies Points Of Authority / 99 Problems / One Step Closer Nothing Makes Sense Anymore In The End Iridescent The Last Line Roads Untraveled What can a playlist reveal about a live show? A lot, potentially. The playlist features a lot of seemingly carefully selected tracks (we're not going to be naming any to keep the surprise alive for those who want to), and it wouldn't be the first time Mike would have teased a setlist using playlists. When he started playing some solo shows as Fort Minor in 2015, he created this playlist which included many of the songs he ended up playing. Some songs were indeed missing from the set, like the Styles Of Beyond collaborating 'Second To None,' the Vice Remix of 'I'll Be Gone,' and 'Wastelands' from The Hunting Party, but a majority of the tracks were played on his short tour. It's unlikely Mike will be playing 40 songs a night (but hey, if he does, we're here for it) and we all know his crafty mind just loves to make obscure mashups, so it's likely we'll see a selection of songs from the new playlist performed live during his shows. The only question now is: which ones? Here's something we want to see return - the epic 2015 Remix of 'Cigarettes' Mike performed during Fort Minor shows. What are your thoughts? Lots of setlist ideas are going around on the Custom Setlists thread, so feel free to post your ideas there! Are there any songs NOT only the list you would want to see Mike play, or songs that you're surprised are on there? There are definitely some interesting picks on there. Mike's first shows are coming up fast: mark your calendars for Saturday, May 12. Mike will be performing in the afternoon at KROQ's annual Weenie Roast (which will be livestreamed) and then headlining Identity LA later that night for a full set. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for all the updates! Check out the rest of Mike's touring schedule here.
  16. Here's what I expect from Shinoda's sets: Place To Start Crossing A Line Invisible Sorry For Now About You (Ext. Outro) Roads Untraveled (some mashup/remixed version) Castle Of Glass (w/ Kenji Bridge) Looking For An Answer Where'd You Go? Nothing Makes Sense Anymore High Voltage (2015 Remix Version) Cigarettes (2015 Version) Unreleased Song Watching As I Fall ---------------------------------- Over Again Welcome Remember The Name In The End (Crowd Sings Choruses)
  17. Mike can definitely do songs like Numb and BID with a key change. Nothing wrong with dropping things down a few steps, plenty of bands do it. Hell, LP should've been doing it with songs like New Divide in recent years. Of course Mike can't scream stuff like the Faint chorus or OSC, but like ITE from the Bowl I can definitely see them doing a "crowd sing-a-long section" in each set where Mike does the verses and the crowd sings the choruses. ITE, OSC, Faint could work in that function. Why does everyone think Mark Wakefield is a viable replacement? He wasn't very good/confident with Xero and I'm sure over 20 years later he's not interested or in the same vocal shape, especially considering he doesn't sing anymore.
  18. My least favorite of the bunch, but still a very good song overall. Kind of glad in a weird way there's a divided response to this one, gives more of an incentive to discuss it.
  19. Mike's very first performances under his new solo project are drawing ever closer, and he's backkeep the hype levels up. Mike's new song 'About You' featuring blackbear is now out! The music video was shot in China on Mike's recent trip, a location where he is planning on announcing at least one upcoming solo show. Mike teased part of 'About You' at the end of an Instagram stream last week, which you can watch and listen to the stream below. The song has appeared on Apple Music and reveals that it features producer blackbear (who helped produce 'Sorry For Now' from One More Light) and that it is 3:26 minutes long. Mike has confirmed previously that there will be a few more collaborations on the album, with this one being the first. It'll be exciting to see who else is featured on the record! Zane Lowe premiered it on his Beats 1 Radio show on Apple Music at 9am PST / 12pm EST (countdown and timezone conversions here). With 'About You,' that puts us at 6 pre-release tracks before the album (the 3 Post Traumatic EP songs, 'Crossing The Line,' and 'Nothing Makes Sense Anymore,' of course, being the others) is out. We still have 10 songs (double-digits!) we haven't heard yet - one or two might get released next month as the final songs before the record drops in June, and perhaps Mike will play some unheard ones live - in an interview with ET Canada, he said he's going all in with the set. Mike's album Post Traumatic is out on June 15 - make sure you pre-order it if you haven't already. Additionally, his very first shows are coming up very soon! He's pulling double duty on May 12 with both of his debut performances, the first being in the afternoon for KROQ's Weenie Roast (which will be livestreamed!) before headlining Identity LA later in the evening. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page for all the latest updates (and if you can, support us with a donation so we can bring a bunch of awesome things to you in the future)! Check out the rest of Mike's touring schedule here. What do you think about the song?
  20. Forget the Post Traumatic Tour, it's Hahn season. Mr. Hahn's been living life over the last few months and stepping away from the limelight, but he's back in action now. Joe will be playing a DJ set in Seoul, South Korea for the 10th anniversary party of BOONTHESHOP (a Korean fashion company). This isn't Joe's first solo performance - he's done several over the years, the last ones (we know of) being in China during Linkin Park's 2015 Chinese Tour. Additionally, this will be Mr. Hahn's second DJ performance in Seoul, the last being in October 2013. Joe's DJ sets are usually a mix of some classic tracks (like Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' and Marilyn Manson's 'Beautiful People') and more modern hits (including Jay-Z's and Kanye West's 'Niggas In Paris' and The White Stripes' 'Seven Nation Army). We don't have many Hahn sets, but you can check out an example of one here: at his performance for the Toon Workshop Tokyo Launch Party just before the China shows in July 2015. It's a private event, so it's unlikely we'll get too much information on the show (we'll do our best, though). Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates on Joe's performance. Would you see Mr. Hahn live if he did a run of DJ performances? Perhaps we should get a #MrHahnAroundTheWorld campaign going... we all know what we really want to see. Check out all of Joe's DJ performances here.
  21. Agreed. Nice little song with OML vibes, but not something I'd come back to. Hopefully she has more stuff on the way, her voice is very nice.
  22. Yes - this KROQ show in Carson will be early in the afternoon and the Identity LA show will be later in the night. Times will hopefully be out within the next few weeks.
