  1. We can all agree that Linkin Park was at the top of their game this year on tour. The One More Light European Tour may have been Chester's final tour, but he really gave it his all at every show and really shined. His stage presence and ability will forever be awed and perhaps never topped. It's important to note that this was also Linkin Park's largest headlining European tour in the band's career. In honor of Chester, Linkin Park will be releasing the live album One More Light: Live featuring performances from this year. This will be an audio-only release on CD, no video, but it is the first outright live release by Linkin Park since 2008's Road To Revolution. As you all know, live content has been featured as part of the deluxe editions of the bands last few albums, but its been a while since we've seen a live release all on its own. From linkinpark.com: "CHESTER CHARLES BENNINGTON 1976-2017 WE DEDICATE THIS LIVE ALBUM TO OUR BROTHER CHESTER WHO POURED HIS HEART AND SOUL INTO ONE MORE LIGHT. AFTER WE FINISHED RECORDING THE ALBUM, WE JOKED WITH CHESTER THAT - SINCE HE HAD DELIVERED SO MANY STUNNING PERFORMANCES IN THE STUDIO - HE HAD SET THE BAR EXTRA HIGH TO PRODUCE THAT ALCHEMY ON STAGE EACH NIGHT. NOT SURPRISINGLY, HE WELCOMED THE CHALLENGE. THE SHOWS WE PLAYED TOGETHER DURING THE EARLY SUMMER OF 2017 WERE EXTRAORDINARY. CHESTER SHARED WITH US THAT HE FELT THIS WAS THE BEST TOUR WE HAD EVER DONE. THE CAMARADERIE AND JOY WE EXPERIENCED ON STAGE REFLECTED OUR DEEP CONNECTION WITH EACH OTHER, WITH OUR FANS, AND WITH THE MUSIC. EVERY NIGHT BEFORE WALKING OUT ONTO THE STAGE, WE WOULD HUDDLE, GET FOCUSED, AND SHARE WHATEVER LAST-SECOND REMARKS POPPED INTO OUR HEADS. CHESTER ALWAYS TOOK IT UPON HIMSELF TO TURN THE NAME OF THE CITY WHERE WE WERE PLAYING INTO A FIRST-RATE RUN. THIS WAS OUR RITUAL. BEST OF ALL, IT WAS A MOMENT TO EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE THAT WE WERE LIVING OUR DREAM. CHESTER NEVER FORGOT TO EXPRESS HIS APPRECIATION TO OUR CREW - THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO TRAVELED THE WORLD WITH US, MAKING OUR DREAM INTO REALITY NIGHT AFTER NIGHT. WITHOUT THEM, THESE SHOWS WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE. CHESTER WAS UNIQUELY PASSIONATE, UNCOMMONLY GENEROUS, SENSITIVE, OPTIMISTIC, FUNNY AND KIND. WITH HIS VOICE, HE TURNED PAIN INTO CATHARSIS, AUTHENTICITY INTO ART, AND PASSION INTO CONNECTION. HIS DEDICATION TO BRINGING THESE SONGS TO LIFE WAS TRIUMPHANT. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ATTENDED THIS TOUR IN PERSON, WE THANK YOU. FOR THOSE WHO COULD NOT, WE HOPE THIS LIVE ALBUM GIVES YOU A GLIMPSE INTO HOW MAGICAL THESE SHOWS WERE FOR THE SIX OF US. - JOE, DAVE, ROB, MIKE & BRAD" Tracklisting: (track lengths) 01. Talking To Myself (5:16) 02. Burn It Down (4:13) 03. Battle Symphony (3:45) 04. New Divide (4:30) 05. Invisible (4:30) 06. Nobody Can Save Me (3:59) 07. One More Light (4:19) 08. Crawling (Piano Version) (3:29) [Berlin 2017.06.12] 09. Leave Out All The Rest (4:50) 10. Good Goodbye (feat. Stormzy) (4:08) 11. What I've Done (4:33) 12. In The End (3:48) 13. Sharp Edges (4:47) [Berlin 2017.06.12] 14. Numb (3:50) 15. Heavy (2:56) 16. Bleed It Out (4:57) Total: 67:50 11/17 Update: Track times added. What this tells us about the release: - Talking To Myself features the Fallout/Roads Untraveled intro from 2017. - Of course, the intros for Invisible, One More Light, Leave Out All The Rest, and What I've Done all are included. - Bleed It Out in 2017 featured an extended bridge w/ singalong and extended ending, but this could be one of the few performances with a special bridge (Reading My Eyes in Monza and Sopron). - It is possible that a significant portion of the songs are from the U.K. shows due to Good Goodbye being from there (only performed in London, twice).... but this is the first true compilation CD release from Linkin Park, so honestly anything from Europe is fair game. - Unfortunately, South America and Las Vegas do not have any songs on the compilation. 11/30 Update: 'Sharp Edges' is being released on December 1 to all platforms. The recording is from the band's show in Berlin. Pre-orders are available now for the release, and when you pre-order you get a download of Crawling immediately. There is also a digital-only release, but the CD looks like the booklet features lots of 2017 images (even some from the Hollywood Bowl) of Linkin Park performing live.
  2. You have a fundamentally wrong idea of what maturity in music is if all you can cite as a lack of maturity is the tone. If you think "WAAAAR, DESTROYERRRRR" has more maturity than "I'm holding up a light, chasing out the darkness inside, tonight. But nobody can save me now," that lies in your association of maturity to heaviness/anger, which just isn't the case in music. Sorry to say.
  3. Ah, the good ol' "i'm too edgy for pop music so let's shit on it because its something everyone of all ages can enjoy and doesn't have guitars" argument. Always a good laugh.
  4. So Mike and Joe were at ComplexCon today, and from seeing Mike wearing a VR headset I can only assume they were using/playing with this. Did it get delayed after Chester passed? Never heard anything about it until today again.
  5. Jon Green will be the Morgan Nicholls of Linkin Park. Love this guy, hope he sticks around with the band. Seems to be super versatile, too. &I'm laughing at the people who still think LP needs to be aggressive to survive. OML went to #1 this year. Most of the band's hits in the last ten years haven't been aggressive. It's time to stop living in the nu-metal era, guys.
  6. I think the real thing we should be taking out of this is that Jon Green is a legend. Get this man as a touring member or even an official member. He could be like Morgan is to Muse.
  7. Can confirm. Was there. Was sexy.
  8. How are you complaining about The Catalyst not being a punk rock song and Deryck singing over it when M. Shadows sang on Burn It Down and there's not a single complaint? Deryck sounded great on the song IMO, just because he's not of that genre doesn't mean he can't do it some justice. Of course no one will be able to do things like Chester did, but you can't fault them for wanting to pay their respect by honoring his art.
  9. Yep. I didn't necessarily know it was a new song and it did kind of take me by surprise - there was an unknown piano ballad that was reported during the rehearsal and in the moment I had figured it was 'Rest.' At the very most I expected it to just be an older song the source didn't recognize but it was legitimately a brand new song!
  10. Just listened to the proshot of this. This song destroyed me hearing it, it's so beautiful. Can't wait to hear the studio version one day. Fun fact, this is the second song to be performed live before being recorded, 'QWERTY' being the other one. It's also the fifth song to be performed before being officially released, the others being 'QWERTY, 'Wastelands,' 'Talking To Myself,' and 'One More Light.' I think that's correct, at least.
  11. I'll lay down my full thoughts of the show in a bit, I have a lot of work to do and so little time lmao But for now, I filmed the entire show and I'm uploading it song-by-song here if anyone wants to watch and hear me sing my heart out
  12. Updated Maryland Heights 2004 with setlist and some show info.
  13. Thank you all! I'm currently in Los Angeles. It's happening. Blink-182 in rehearsals today with the band, we'll see if anything else pops up throughout the day!
  14. Thanks guys! Can't wait to see you there Thanks for the correction, I'll fix that up now.
  15. It's been a hard three months for not only the Linkin Park fanbase, but for the world of music, as well. It still isn't easy to grasp that Chester is gone, but as a community we've all united and become a stronger fanbase - and, more importantly, family - than ever before. On October 27, we will again unite as a family, this time in person, and all enjoy one of the things we all love so dearly: Linkin Park live. Linkin Park is playing their first show since Chester's death on October 27, 2017 at the esteemed Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California. Joining the band will be a whole load of guests: including members of Avenged Sevenfold, System Of A Down, No Doubt, and more - but we'll get into depth with that later. Linkin Park & Friends will be lighting up the night with a special show honoring Chester. Linkin Park has played Los Angeles countless times in the past - it's their hometown, after all. This will be their second time performing at the Hollywood Bowl, however. They performed there for the first time back in 2014 on the Carnivores Tour with Thirty Seconds To Mars - that show was streamed live on VyRT, and featured loads of surprises, like Daron Malakian performing on 'Rebellion' and Austin Carlile formerly of Of Mice & Men joining them for 'Faint.' The band would have ended this year's One More Light North American Tour at the Hollywood Bowl on October 22 (5 days before this event), as well, though it seems all paths ended up there. Watch the full show from the Hollywood Bowl back in 2014. Before we get into the details about this show, let's talk about watching it. Tickets sold out in minutes with a majority going to the LP Underground, and not every fan in the world could make it out to Los Angeles. The band will be livestreaming the event via YouTube, so no matter where in the world you are, you'll be able to watch the show right from home and we can all feel the emotions together, whether we're there or not. Click the spoiler tag below for more stream info, including time zone conversions and a countdown. Link: http://lprk.co/YouTube Time Zone Conversions (Comment below if you need me to add your city/country) Countdown For those who will be attending - come meet us! There will be a massive meet up outside the Hollywood Bowl at 4:00PM PST. If you want to come meet us all, RSVP for our Facebook event (or just show up - either works!). You can meet loads of staff members including myself, Hahninator, SasstielExperience, Jonas, Dmitry, and more! It's the family reunion we never had! Let's get into the details here. It's going to be an emotional night for sure, but it's also going to be a very unique one. Opening the night is an old friend of band, DJ Z-Trip, with whom Chester recorded the hit 'Walking Dead.' He promised a very special set for the event, so make sure you catch it! Linkin Park will be performing with loads of guests, both friends of Chester's, contemporaries, friends of Mike's, and so forth. First up is M. Shadows and Synyster Gates from Avenged Sevenfold. We have no clue what they'll be playing - in an interview, they claimed they were going to originally be playing a song that went to Jonathan Davis of Korn when he joined the lineup. It's possible they were talking about 'One Step Closer' as that's the song Davis performed with Linkin Park in the past. As for the A7X duo, it's very likely they play one of the band's heavier songs - 'A Place For My Head' or 'Guilty All The Same' are up there in contention. Also joining is 3/4 of System Of A Down: Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian, and John Dolmayan. Daron, of course has joined the band to play 'Rebellion' both in the studio and live, so that song's in obvious contention, but with the other members of SOAD, we can't say for certain. Blink-182 will be joining the band for a few songs, as well! Matt Skiba watching a video tutorial to learn 'What I've Done' on his Instagram, so it seems like they'll definitely be playing that one! The members of the band have joined Linkin Park before, Travis Barker playing drums on 'Bleed It Out' at the Concert For The Philippines in 2014 and 'A Light That Never Comes' with Mike, Chester and Steve Aoki at the Shrine Expo Hall in 2013; and Mark Hoppus playing bass on 'Numb' at the band's Relief Live! concert in 2015. Both bands were to play the special Blinkin Park shows this summer in Pennsylvania and New York, so it'll be good to see them share the stage for real. Adrian Young and Tom Dumont of No Doubt will also be joining the band. Young also played at the Relief Live! show in 2015, playing on 'Numb.' Yellowcard's Ryan Key will join the band as well. In 2014, Ryan Key joined the band for 'What I've Done' at their surprise performance at the Vans Warped Tour. While it's possible he joins on 'What I've Done' with Blink, it'd be great to see him perform 'Shadow Of The Day,' which he did an incredible cover of the day of Chester's passing. Watch Mark Hoppus and Adrian Young perform 'Numb' with Linkin Park back in 2015 at Relief Live! Linkin Park have several more familiar faces joining them, as well. Kiiara will be playing with them, and she'll obviously be singing 'Heavy' amongst others. She could join for any other song, too - don't forget she did a duet of 'Burn It Down' with Chester at the Facebook Live Event at the beginning of the year, too! Jon Green from The Bonfires is also on the lineup. He joined the band both live and in the studio for 'Nobody Can Save Me,' though whether or not the band will play that song is to be seen. That's a lot of emotion. Machine Gun Kelly is also on the lineup, and he's a very familiar face. He first joined the band on 'Bleed It Out' back in 2014 on the Vans Warped Tour show and rapped his song 'What I Do' over the extended bridge. He did the same this year on the band's One More Light European Tour at a few stops, and was scheduled to open for the band this entire summer on the North American Tour. He recently released an studio cover of 'Numb' which he dedicated to Chester. Then there are some curveballs. DJ and electronic musician Zedd will be performing drums on a song - and that could literally by any song. Nonetheless, that's a huge name to have on the lineup! Bring Me The Horizon's Oliver Sykes will be playing with the band as well. He's expressed time and time again that Linkin Park is one of his all-time favorite bands and inspired his music (his first concert was Linkin Park in 2001!). Footage exists of him singing 'Papercut' at an after party event, though we could also see him on 'Faint' as well. Pop rock band Echosmith will also be playing - they could also be on any of the band's poppier numbers, like 'Burn It Down.' That's everyone confirmed so far, but there could very likely be some surprises that have been kept under locks up until the day of the show. Do you think we'll see anyone else show up? EDIT: Taka of One Ok Rock have confirmed his presence in the event. His band had been playing a cover of 'One More Light' during their recent US tour. Frank Zummo of Sum 41 was also seen rehearsing with Linkin Park and members of System Of A Down. He has been performing drum covers of 'Faint' and 'One Step Closer' at recent Sum 41 concerts. Besides that, Ryan Shuck of Julien-K was spotted at Thrid Encore, Linkin Park's rehearsal space. It was brought to our attention he had been listening to 'One Step Closer' on Spotify quite a lot in the last few days. Can we expect him to join the band at the show? Watch Kiiara and Linkin Park debut 'Heavy' for the first time earlier this year on The Late Late Show With James Corden. Setlist-wise, that's about all we can predict. There's no telling what the band can do with just a five-piece. There are for sure some songs we probably won't be hearing ever again, like 'Given Up.' But Mike Shinoda is a creative genius. The mashup-master can (and will) find a way to incorporate any of the band's songs into the setlist. Plus, there are loads of tracks he is in charge of - 'Invisible,' 'In Between,' and 'No Roads Left' are just a few of them. There's also a bunch of Fort Minor material he can pick and choose from, like 'Welcome' and 'Remember The Name.' And wouldn't we all love to see 'Sorry For Now' performed live! In the band's near-two decades of performing, this is undoubtedly one of the, if not the most important show they have played yet. It's many different things: proof that they aren't quitting any time soon, proof that they have the ability to continue, and, more importantly, a celebration of the incredible life of Chester Bennington. He'll be in our hearts and minds all night and for every day to come. Chester will always be with us, in our hearts, walking beside us as we climb the mountains his voice helped us overcome in the dark times before. A soul only dies when they are forgotten, and Chester's life burns powerfully in all of our hearts. We can't wait to watch this show with you whether you'll be in Los Angeles to see it or watching from home. It'll be a night of laughs, love, and tears. And that's what a Linkin Park show has always been. For updates on the show and for everything Linkin Park in the future, be sure to follow our social media: we're on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Linkin Park currently has no other touring plans, but they will return to the road once again some day. When that day comes, we'll all be here ready to have a great time and see our favorite band kill it on that stage (and to constantly nag for 'A Place For My Head,' just like the good ol' days). If you're still struggling with losing Chester or want to help Linkin Park fans who are hurting, join the LPLive Help Line Discord chat. Even if you just want to chat about the band - feel free to sign up! This isn't a goodbye. It's just the end of the chapter. Thank you, Linkin Park, for everything you've done. Thank you for the perseverance and the courage you've given us. Now it's our turn to help you. And thank you, Chester, for everything you've done. We know you're happy wherever you may be now. And we hope you're watching us, too. As we end this chapter, let's keep an open mind and most importantly, an open heart as we enter a new one. See you all on October 27.
  16. We already have our LPL Meetup Facebook event up and ready, but let's get down to business. Let's get the LPL Guest List rolling - who's going? We gotta get a group picture for sure. I'll see all you beautiful people there
  17. 3 hours later... finished editing the rest of the submissions in the link lmao. Goddamn that took forever. The way I'd see the categories winning (at least, how I'd prefer it to come down) would be like this: AOTY: Linkin Park - One More Light Lady Gaga - Joanne Childish Gambino - "Awaken, My Love!" Kendrick Lamar - DAMN. Ed Sheeran - Divide Lorde - Melodrama ROTY: Imagine Dragons - 'Thunder' Miley Cyrus - 'Malibu' Harry Styles - 'Sign Of The Times' Kendrick Lamar - 'HUMBLE.' Ed Sheeran - 'Shape Of You' Logic ft. Alessia Cara, Khalid - '1-800-273-8255' SOTY: Linkin Park - 'One More Light' Kendrick Lamar - 'HUMBLE.' Childish Gambino - 'Redbone' Jay-Z - '4:44' Imagine Dragons - 'Thunder' Harry Styles - 'Sign Of The Times' The GRAMMYs is the biggest circlejerk of musical popularity ever, so I wouldn't be surprised if they throw LP in there just because they know all of their fans will watch and thus they'll get more ratings. Doubt they'll win AOTY but maybe SOTY if they see enough people talking about it lol.
  18. A leaked list of the 2018 GRAMMY Awards submissions have revealed that Linkin Park's 'One More Light' (as well as the album One More Light) have been submitted for an award. The following have been submitted for an award: Song Of The Year: 'One More Light' Record Of The Year: 'One More Light' Album Of The Year: One More Light Check out the full list of submissions here. Note: Submissions does not mean nomination. The artists and music nominated will be officially revealed on January 28, 2018. Should Linkin Park win the nomination, this'll be the band's first GRAMMY Nomination since they were nominated in 2010 for Best Hard Rock Performance for the live version of 'What I've Done.' They have previously won the Best Hard Rock Performance award in 2002 for 'Crawling' and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for 'Numb/Encore' with Jay-Z in 2006. Overall, they have been nominated for 7 GRAMMY awards, winning two of them. Would you like to see the band win a GRAMMY award in 2018? They are currently in contention for the Favorite Alternative Rock Artist for the American Music Awards against Twenty One Pilots and Imagine Dragons (though looking at the announcement tweet, it looks like everyone - even fans of the other bands - are supporting LP for the award). You can vote for that award here and posting on social media. Be sure to follow us on social media too on Twitter and Facebook. The long-awaited Hollywood Bowl show is this Friday, October 27 - if you're going, be sure to meet us outside the venue before the show for our meetup! If you're not, you can watch at home via the YouTube livestream.
  19. No one's saying they can play the full songs, but there's 0 doubt in my mind Mike could find a way to peform most of somgs like Faint, SIB, LITE, Wastelands, ND, WID, BS, TTM... essentially every song you listed besides OSC and FTI can probably be done in some way by Mike and the rest of the guys backing him, + backing tracks to help.
  20. The problem with Oli becoming lead singer is the fact he's already the leader of another big band - not to the degree of Linkin Park, of course, but BMTH has a pretty big following. BMTH is his band, so he'd prioritize that of course. LP is Mike's band. There's a lot of scheduling conflicts there - would LP end up becoming like STP was for Chester? One tour a year when BMTH isn't busy? Will we have to wait for BMTH to be between albums for an LP Tour? Mike can do just fine on his own. Thinking the band will fail because they won't play One Step Closer is ridiculous. Sure, that song's probably out, but most of LP's other songs have roles Mike can use to make something out of. This man mashed up Fallout and Roads Untraveled and it was beautiful. He can do anything.

    Rehearsals

Added in this month's rehearsals. Doubt we'll ever get any info on 'em but for consistency, might as well keep them.
  22. All the gear is back at Third Encore. Shit's getting real now! https://twitter.com/digbyjim/status/919634707976830977
  23. Getting some more female representation. Echosmith is joining the band for a song. I'm guessing they'll do Burn It Down or Waiting For The End.
  24. That would make sense, considering that is him lmao
  25. Damn, that was hilarious and bittersweet. Glad to see that he was happy even in those last days. The dynamic between Ken and Mike was hilarious lmao
