  1. Anyone know what was played at the soundcheck?
  2. WTCFM in Africa with the Africans singing the tribal chorus....would make for one hell of a DSP track. There. I said it.
  3. I'm sure LPU12 will blow this stuff away lol
  4. A few hours for a show disrupts your exams that badly?
  5. You have to understand as LP gets older and older and they enjoy touring less and less, their tours will be smaller each time they go out. 17 dates is the shortest HCT to date. LP doesn't tour like they used to. 12 shows in Europe is a lot for them. They don't do these huge runs anymore and it sucks for sure but that's just how it is.
  6. Linkin Park's FIRST EVER appearance on the continent of Africa comes on November 7th, when they play in Cape Town, South Africa at Cape Town Stadium. After two off days, the band plays Johannesburg on the 10th at FNB Stadium before heading home. So for a short two show "tour", these shows are sure to be packed since both stadiums hold HUGE crowds and both shows have sold a LOT of tickets. Built in 2010 for the FIFA World Cup, the stadium has held concerts by U2, Neil Diamond, Coldplay, and Kings Of Leona and after the Linkin Park show it will be hosting Lady Gaga and the Red Hot Chili Peppers in the next few months. The official capacity for the stadium is 55,000 but it is currently unclear (at least to us) how many tickets were sold for the LP show and how much the capacity for the performance is since there will be a huge stage in the arena. It doesn't look like the stage will even be at one end of the arena, though. The promoter has posted a FAQ document which basically has everything you need to know about Linkin Park's first ever show in South Africa. Basically the only highlight of this document is that the band Kongos will be opening both the Cape Town and Johannesburg shows. And also, the 7th LPU Summit will be held at this show! The Summit starts at 9:00am local time and will include some fun events....although the list of activities isn't out as far as we can tell from the LPU website. A Music For Relief tree planting activity in Cape Town (including some members of the LP touring crew) is taking place on November 6th. As far as the setlists go for these two shows, it wouldn't be surprising to see either two of the setlists from the Honda Civic Tour being used in Cape Town and Johannesburg, or even the same setlist twice (maybe US Set A). What do you think? It's surprising that 'Castle Of Glass' hasn't been included in any setlist yet since the video just came out, but it is unknown if the band has even rehearsed it yet. Do you think it will be played soon? Coming off of a very successful five show South American tour, including a show in Buenos Aires, Argentina and four shows in Brazil, the band is wrapping up 2012 in style with two stadium shows in South Africa. Is anyone from LPLive going to Cape Town and the LPU Summit? For the full 2012 tour recap including past dates, setlists and more, click here. After the Johannesburg show on the 10th, Linkin Park plays the American Music Awards at LA's Nokia Theatre on November 18th. SOUNDCHECK SETLIST (for LPU Summit attendees): 01. Faint (Ext. Outro) 02. 10. To coincide with the release of Styles Of Beyond's third studio album Reseda Beach today, RYU and Cheapshot have both answered some questions for us about the album, its recording, and also other future music projects (including some new S.O.B. releases). We would also like to take this opportunity to announce that during the next LPLive site upgrade, SOBCentral will officially be integrated into the site! You will then be able to get all of your SOBC needs right here on LPL, as well as our Twitter.com/SOBCentral and Facebook.com/SOBCentral pages. So look forward to seeing those changes soon! But without further adieu, please enjoy this SOBC+LPL exclusive interview... (continues in the next post)
  11. APFMH bridge in Lisbon.
  12. Oh, he does. It was almost released once.... from what I heard. We'll see. I'd say it's more likely to appear on an LPU CD than anywhere else, so why not LPU 12?
  13. The last DSP I have is Calgary. I guess I'll get the rest eventually.
  14. Numb was filmed in a church in Prague and then later in Los Angeles since Chester was sick and they had to finish at a church in LA when he was better that looked very similar to the Prague one.
  15. 2008. LP and 10 Years. All that needs to be said.

    Mexico DSP

Ethan apparently "live mixed" the Carson show. Sounded pretty bad in my opinion. They should wait to mix these things in the future before showing them....I thought Carson was a sucky mix. I love the way Pooch mixes usually, well 2012 has sounded GREAT, but I don't like the DSP mixes on video sources because it sounds weird for some reason, like it's fake or something. Idk. Monterrey had an epic mix, not sure who mixed that.
  17. Last minute trip to the middle of the woods LOL to a cabin 5 hours away, didn't have time to do this one - sorry. I only hce my iPhone and I can't do them from it. Thankfully we have a great backup preshow post writer I'll be back at it for South Africa!
  18. Yeah but Brazil was like $153 or something? Equivalent in US dollars I mean. And no opening band? Holy shit lol.
  19. Do regular BTH with the long intro and ext outro and I'll go with yours instead I would've liked to have seen Reading My Eyes in there though.
  20. lol the band's return to Brazil was so anticipated and only a few replies about the show
  21. He makes an interesting point - US Set C was not played in Canada, Mexico or South America (yet). US Set C tonight.
  22. This would be pretty filthy and would eliminate a lot of those singles. Breaking The Habit (New buildup intro into gunshot into BTH; Outro w/ strings & Chester) LOST IN THE ECHO (doesn't matter if there's an intro or not) No More Sorrow (Long intro) From The Inside (Ext. Intro) VICTIMIZED (w/ QWERTY) Somewhere I Belong (2012 Intro) Points Of Authority (Studio version w/ There They Go jam outro) When They Come For Me Reading My Eyes Figure.09 IN MY REMAINS Leave Out All The Rest Numb (Numb/Encore outro) CASTLE OF GLASS P5hng Me A*wy The Catalyst BURN IT DOWN Enth E Nd What I've Done (AMBO Intro) Bleed It Out (w/ Sabotage) ----------- TINFOIL Faint Lying From You / Papercut A Place For My Head (Ext Bridge and Outro) One Step Closer
  23. The second-to-last show (the fourth out of five) of the LIVING THINGS South American Tour takes place at Citibank Hall in Rio de Janeiro. Linkin Park has actually played this city and venue before....TWO DAYS AGO on the 8th actually!! Haha! This will be night two of a two night stand at the venue for LP, with a rare off day coming in between these two shows (see below for more information). Show number one on the 8th (show page here) got REALLY good reviews from both fans and the LP crew. Originally on the 10th, the band was set to play Estádio Durival de Brito in Curitiba, Brazil, but on September 10th the band changed their South American Tour up a little bit by canceling that show and adding a second night in Rio, and canceling Porto Alegre on the 11th and adding a new show in Porto Alegre at a new venue on the 12th. Two night stands (headlining) are pretty rare for Linkin Park, with them only performing twelve since 2000: (plus one THREE night stand in 2003) - March 2003: Closing out the LPU Tour with two shows at the Wiltern in LA for the Meteora release - October 2003: Their only THREE night stand, the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo - October 2007: Auckland's Vector Arena, Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena, & Sydney's Entertainment Centre - November 2007: Saitama Super Arena Chou-ku in Tokyo - January 2008: London's O2 Arena to close the Winter European Tour - March 2008: Two nights at The Joint @ Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas - November 2010: London's O2 Arena to close the European Tour, with the first LPU Summit - December 2010: Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena and Sydney's Acer Arena (but 11th and 15th, not back-to-back) - September 2011: Tokyo's Makuhari Messe for the 5th LPU Summit - October 2012: Rio de Janeiro, the first two night stand in South America The 2010 Sydney Acer Arena shows were not back-to-back - one coming before a two night stand in Melbourne and one coming after. That tour was the only time the band has ever headlined two nights in one venue on the same tour NOT on back-to-back days.....until now. Yes Sydney had shows in between but this is a rare case of an off day coming in the middle of a two night stand - Rio on the 8th and Rio on the 10th. Show number one in Rio featured US Set B, meaning so far on this tour these have been the setlists: Buenos Aires - US Set B São Paulo - US Set A Rio de Janeiro (Night 1) - US Set B US Set C has yet to make an appearance on this tour and Brazil has had both A and B, so maybe C is coming at Citibank Hall for night 2? Thoughts? Chester at the first show in Rio sang part of 'Crawling' a capella mid-set (due to the crowd chanting for it throughout the show) so it makes you wonder if he might sneak in part of 'Castle Of Glass' a cappella somewhere since the video is coming out today. Thoughts on that? Hmm...... Here's a video of what went down in Rio: Who from LPLive is headed to the show? Night 1 was sold out but currently night 2 is NOT sold out, at least yet. However, I'm sure the Brazilian crowd will be absolutely crazy yet again (that's a good thing). After this show, the band closes the South American Tour in Porto Alegre on the 12th at Gigantinho. After that, only two shows are left in 2012 for the band (unless they make an appearance at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas show or something) - the South African shows in November. For the full 2012 tour schedule including upcoming dates and past setlists, click here. SETLIST: 01. With You (Game Of Thrones + 2012 Ext. Intro; Ext. Scratch Outro) 02. Faint (Ext. Outro) 03. Given Up (Ext. Outro) 04. VICTIMIZED (w/ QWERTY) 05. Lying From You 06. Somewhere I Belong (2012 Intro) 07. New Divide 08. IN MY REMAINS 09. Empty Spaces 10. When They Come For Me 11. Waiting For The End (Apaches Intro w/ 'Until It Breaks' rap; Ext. Outro) 12. Breaking The Habit 13. LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent (Ballad Medley) 14. The Catalyst 15. What I've Done 16. BURN IT DOWN 17. In The End 18. Numb (Outro 'Numb/Encore' lyrics tease (Mike)) 19. Bleed It Out (Ext. Bridge w/ 'Sabotage'; Ext. Outro) ---------------------------------- 20. LOST IN THE ECHO (2012 Intro) 21. Papercut 22. One Step Closer (Ext. Outro)
  24. This. Keep it out lol. Drop In The End from a setlist and Numb from another one too. And another single from another one. Rotate the singles Surely LP has to be tired of playing the same songs over and over and over again every year, so I would hope they'd get more energy on stage by playing other songs. But I might be wrong because the lack of energy I saw on With You this year was incredible - band looked VERY unenergetic playing it. But APFMH being there and the band exploding on it further proves they should at least try the others. Runaway being dropped, etc makes for a bigger case against my statement but if they tried something like Easier To Run or Robot Boy they might like it and keep it. Only thing with these setlists I don't like much would be how similar the run is of WFTE, BTH, LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent, The Catalyst, LOST IN THE ECHO, Numb and What I've Done in every setlist. Seems like all 6 shows I saw had that run almost the exact same lol
  25. WOAH good find here. Thanks so much for that. Dang time to go back and look at the source of that setlist and see where we went wrong lol. Pretty rare for the online world to get a setlist wrong for a show these days.
