When fans are there in attendance, yes. Otherwise no. http://lplive.net/shows/20120810.php http://lplive.net/shows/20101107.php For the Cape Town thing I'm talking about, I was just going to mention it in "Other Notes" since it's pretty rare for the band to do soundchecks these days. But it ended up being something to do with the actual Summit soundcheck lol. -
Awesome, thanks. I just recently scanned my MFR pass from Alpharetta haha...but we are missing so much from this year for some reason.
-
Bump - still missing lots of tickets for the end of 2012 along with a SA Summit pass scan and much more.
-
Saw them at Voodoo a few weeks ago, wasn't impressed.

I believe the day before the show they rehearsed LOATR and the Ballad Medley. As in: 01. Faint 02. With You 03. LIES GREED MISERY 04. Leave Out All The Rest 05. LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent (Ballad Medley) 06. LOST IN THE ECHO Very very likely they did more than that but that is the soundcheck setlist. Unless that's the setlist for the LPU soundcheck party, but the setlists are pretty different: 01. Faint 02. With You 03. Somewhere I Belong 04. IN MY REMAINS 05. New Divide 06. VICTIMIZED (w/ QWERTY) 07. LOST IN THE ECHO That's why I think it was for the day before...that's a pretty drastic difference in what was played. Here is the Summit soundcheck: http://instagram.com/p/RviQ76oeCa/ The image I'm referencing is attached. I think this was the day before since it is confirmed they did rehearse on the 6th, although this could possibly be an earlier version of the LPU soundcheck setlist. Doubt it though, most likely the day before. -

Which one was better? -
So much negative feedback being thrown at KROQ about the lineup lol, a lot of it about how so many people left during LP at Weenie Roast last year since Foo surprised the crowd and blew the place apart.

Yes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSHgrzuwAp4 -
Agreed on My December, about time for it to return. I don't think they'll play Castle of Glass until Australia, if even then. Most of those are festival shows....

Yup! Heard it too Edited the main post.

Someone commented on a blog on ocweekly.com saying they had a flyer mailed to their house by KROQ announcing the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas lineup for 2012. Member valiumknight1 posted: "Kroq mailed a flyer to my house today announcing the lineup. Night one is on December 8th with "Linkin Park, Rise Against, Bush, Garbage, Slightly Stoopid, Awolnation, Walk The Moon, The Gaslight Anthem, Two Door Cinema Club, and Youngblood Hawke". Night 2 is on December 9th and the lineup is "The Killers, Jack White, Fun, M83, Passion Pit, Of Monsters and Men, Grouplove, The lumineers, Alex Clare, and Imagine Dragons". So you guys were pretty close on a couple of these. Bush, and Grouplove played last year so I was surprised to see them in this years lineup again." While someone claiming KROQ sent them a flyer in the mail with the lineup can be taken with a grain of salt, it is rumored that Linkin Park will headline one of the nights of KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas this year. The announcement on the bands should be coming soon, so we will see. What do you think? With LIVING THINGS coming out this year, will the band return to AAC? Linkin Park last played the show in 2007 at the Gibson Amphitheatre, providing a pretty special show. EDIT: Linkin Park is confirmed to be headlining night 1 of KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas 2012! Other bands include Rise Against, Bush, Garbage, Slightly Stoopid, AWOLNATION, The Lumineers, Walk The Moon, The Gaslight Anthem, Two Door Cinema Club and YoungBlood Hawke. "The 23rd Annual KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas returns to the Gibson Amphitheatre on December 8th & 9th, 2012, featuring two nights of incredible performances from many of today’s biggest bands! Proceeds from the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas benefit local charities Para Los Niños and the Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center." More information can be found here.

Yep U2 360 tour was fantastic. The show I saw actually had the stage at one end but it had 360 seating - I was sitting "behind" the stage for example. I think some shows had the stage in the legit middle though? Or maybe I'm wrong? I know the Metallica Death Magnetic headlining shows had the stage in the VERY middle of the arena. -
Enough with the side projects lol

Added it to the page, thanks. It was the last song in the soundcheck. -
I'll take anything for LPU12...the past few LPU CDs have been impressive. 9, X and 11 are solid....9 is just balls to the wall insanely good haha. Across The Line, ftw. Hoping Pictureboard is on LPU12 so the hype around the song will finally die!
-
Sometimes it takes a while after the shows to update the site. I don't see why we wouldn't get them. Even if they were filming a live DVD (if you film one anywhere, South Africa looks like a great place haha) I think we'd get a DSP.

Well we wouldn't have this problem if they didn't fuck up Set B and remove WTCFM from it! Camden and Alpharetta's Set B had WTCFM. http://lplive.net/shows/20120817.php Camden show was insane. Just so fucking good. Instead of removing WTCFM from Set B for IMR, they should have dropped LGM. Still think that song live sucks major balls lol. I'll take Runaway, Blackout, FTI, WTCFM, NMS, anything over it. Probably my most disliked live LP song at this point since WFTE got improved a LOT this year. -

Word. Exactly. Set B and Set C are quite a lot better than Set A haha. I'll assume you mean 2010 - now, because the 2009 setlist was really good. Europe in the summer of 2008 had incredible setlists...and they were practically ruined for Projekt Rev by taking the good stuff out that of course the hardcore fans wanted to hear lol (APFMH, Valentine's Day (since it's not an overplayed single in every set is my point), Reading My Eyes, etc). One of the best I've seen from LP for sure. The main ATS tour setlist (http://lplive.net/shows/20101020.php) I felt wasn't that great... not sure why but I saw it 3 times and it really lacked energy. Maybe it was the band, maybe it was how the set flowed, but it wasn't a great set in my opinion. I didn't love any ATS tour setlist...but this one was alright since it had ND/F/OSC closing, with BITS and Blackout in there...I mean it was good but not great: http://lplive.net/shows/20101213.php Set C is fantastic...Bristow was just an awesome show with the band rocking and the crowd going off. Set B in Camden was one of the best LP shows I've seen (Atlanta 07, Stuttgart 09, Camden 12 are my top 3). Set A was really good with Runaway and Blackout but I felt like with those being dropped it took a lot out of it. Numb moving from the encore was good but Set A really suffers from the classic complaint a lot of fans have with LP's setlists - same singles in the same order over and over (look at the middle to the end of the main set). Encore is alright but definitely the weakest of the 3. Set B encore makes your face want to melt. TINFOIL, Faint, LFY/Papercut and OSC is probably the best encore they've ever had. Just filthy shit. Maybe add From The Inside and Runaway to Set A and drop Catalyst and Numb or something. Set A is definitely better than than the ATS tour sets but the weakest one for 2012, if that makes sense. Regardless, I'm glad the band is changing the sets up a lot and actually caring what the fans what to hear this time haha. I told Mike at the Alpharetta M&G that I and LPLive and the online fans were really impressed with how they were incorporating a lot of older stuff the hardcore fans wanted to hear into the sets and he said yes they really legit tried to do that this time and read what fans wanted to see live, asked the crew what they wanted to hear, and the band discussed it and made the sets. Pretty cool. -
Linkin Park's second show in South Africa and final show in Africa comes on the 10th in Johannesburg, South Africa at FNB Stadium. Holding 94,736 people, this is one of the largest venues Linkin Park has ever headlined. It is unknown how many people this show will hold, but it is sure to be a packed crowd just like the last one in Cape Town. Previous shows at this venue have included U2 (with a crowd of 94,232 people!!!), Neil Diamond, Coldplay (with 62,000 people), and Kings Of Leon. In Cape Town (show page here), the band treated LPU'ers to the 7th LPU Summit by hosting a variety of activities including a backstage tour and an exclusive six song soundcheck performance before the show. As far as the setlist goes, Linkin Park stuck with US Set A (opening with 'TINFOIL' and 'Faint') for their performance at the very windy venue. It wouldn't surprise us if they stuck with Set A again in Johannesburg but it's definitely possible they'll play Set B ('A Place For My Head' opening) or Set C ('With You' opening). After all, 'When They Come For Me' definitely needs a performance in South Africa! KONGOS (the opening band in Cape Town) will also open the Johannesburg show. Before the show, there was an accident outside of Cape Town Stadium resulting in about 19 injuries and one confirmed death, the first known death at a Linkin Park show. This prompted the band to issue a statement on their Facebook page, stating "Though we have had no relationship with the sponsor or the entity responsible for erecting the structure, we take the safety of our fans very seriously and our thoughts are with all of those who were affected by this tragedy." Who from LPLive is going to this show? Anyone lucky enough to score a M&G? After this show, the band has one more show scheduled (at least for now) in 2012 - the American Music Awards at LA's Nokia Theatre on November 18th. Maybe they'll play KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas in December? For the full 2012 tour schedule including past dates and setlists, click here. SETLIST: 01. A Place For My Head (Long Intro, Ext. Outro) 02. Given Up (Ext. Outro w/ Extra Note) 03. New Divide 04. With You ( 2012 Ext. Intro; Ext. Scratch Outro) 05. Somewhere I Belong (2012 Intro) 06. IN MY REMAINS 07. VICTIMIZED (w/ QWERTY) 08. My guess is that I think at that time it wasn't 100% clear if someone had died yet, but they could have said something like "We heard about an accident outside the stadium before the show, we dedicate this song to those who were affected by it" or something. -
