Yeah, what Astat said. We had a poll at the time I think (if anyone wants to find it, go ahead) and we chose The Radiance (Live Version). Then we just recently decided to go back to The Requiem and The Radiance to open a show and call the part after Numb the Oppenheimer Outro. The band seems to have gone along with what we used because the ATS+ show has The Radiance hahaha. In 5.0, the setlists will be like: 01. The Requiem 02. The Radiance 03. Wretches And Kings xx. Numb (Oppenheimer Outro w/ The Catalyst Lyrics) Instead of a show that the band filmed themselves like Road To Revolution Workprint or London 2001 Workprint, Camden 2004 is the video of the show that was displayed on the screens in the amphitheatre. It's the live video feed. For whatever reason, the guy in charge of that didn't choose to show anything for the outro of Figure.09. No idea That was disappointing to us too when we first got the show.

How can you sit and say fans think ATS is the only good album LP has done and sit and say at the exact same time you're sick of the praise for HT and Meteora? That makes absolutely no god damn sense. If you think Living Things is a better album than Meteora then I don't even know what to say to you, LOL. Don't Stay, Somewhere I Belong, Lying From You, Faint, Figure.09, and From The Inside jam 100x harder than anything on that entire album.

LP headlining Download Festival 2014 & playing HT in full

I bet the ballad medley is gone for this year. If LP is smart they'll do other songs then HT because people will leave after HT. -
I bet that's What We Don't Know.

Commentary was official yes. I don't know about a release since I think it was streamed right? Instrumental was not official and it was on eBay.

Yes. But you are attending Lisbon, which is arguably one of the best festivals in the world, especially for Linkin Park. The 2007, 2008 and 2012 shows there were AWESOME (from the webcasts/recordings I watched). The band always walks away saying "holy shit" at those crowds. The speech on Bleed It Out in 2008 is great. I always look forward to the Lisbon shows because the whole crowd sings the songs so loudly, they rock out, the band loves it, etc. I hope LP visits Spain for you on this touring cycle so you can see them twice You will get to see LP at the first show of the tour in Europe with a brand new setlist and with thousands of us watching across the world -
Oh man I wish I could say what I want to say right now, but wait until this weekend :D You're about to see an index for that stuff! I commend LPA for making a wiki - we were about to launch one at almost the exact same time but when they put theirs up we scrapped ours because we thought people would see it as a "copy" move. They beat us to the punch (barely) but the weakness with theirs is that EVERYONE can edit their stuff. We are about to tackle the fact that the index/guides on LPL are stuck in the forums

For a while I thought Steve Aoki and LP would contribute a song to the movie.

Over the past few years, Linkin Park has gained the notoriety of being the "Transformers band" among other titles. What I've Done was featured in the first Transformers movie, along with Second To None by Styles Of Beyond (featuring Mike). New Divide was THE song for Transformers 2 (featuring score contributions by Linkin Park as well), and Iridescent was in the 3rd edition of the movie. Additionally, Linkin Park performed at the Transformers 2 and Transformers 3 Premieres in Los Angeles in 2009 and Moscow in 2011, respectively. As per Michael Bay's website today, Transformers: Age Of Extinction (the fourth movie) will feature an original song by Imagine Dragons called Battle Cry. Additionally, they will be contributing to the score of the film with Steve Jablonsky and Hans Zimmer and will be performing at the Transformers 4 debut in Hong Kong on June 19th. With Imagine Dragons being named the "official band" for Transformers 4, it seems like Linkin Park's run as the Transformers band has come to an end. However, we still think it is possible that a song by the band will show up on the movie's soundtrack as The Hunting Party is set to be released soon and a lot of new music has been created by LP lately. Perhaps Until It's Gone will be submitted since it has that pop/mainstream feel, or maybe Guilty All The Same will be used in a high-energy scene. Until we know for sure, we can't rule out that Linkin Park won't be featured on the soundtrack but we do know that they won't be performing at the movie's premiere.

Yes. Late 2010 through all of 2011.

I might be in the minority but Burning In The Skies when I saw it rehearsed like 5x was GREAT. I only wish I could have seen it at an actual show. Anyway, the problem was the flow of the setlist to me. To me, the biggest mistake that Linkin Park made was to NOT perform A Thousand Suns in full on tour. They could have done South America, Europe/Mideast, Australia, North America, and Asia (maybe swap it up for Europe 2011 Summer) with a setlist like I have below. Play Robot Boy normally and then for the ending with the layered vocals just get Mike, Phoenix and Chester to replicate it the best way possible. It wouldn't sound bad. A Thousand Suns World Tour (featuring the album in full) The Requiem The Radiance Burning In The Skies Empty Spaces When They Come For Me Robot Boy Jornada Del Muerto Waiting For The End Blackout Wretches And Kings Wisdom, Justice, And Love Iridescent Fallout The Catalyst The Messenger -------------- (5 min break here, then change up nightly or have 3 variations of what's next:) No More Sorrow Papercut Faint Given Up New Divide Breaking The Habit In The End What I've Done A Place For My Head One Step Closer Then at the end rotate in Crawling, Given Up, Leave Out All The Rest, Shadow Of The Day, From The Inside, etc. Whatever they wanted to do. This would let the CD be presented in full and you'd get the full experience of ATS. To this day, the ATS songs still don't fit into the setlists right lol. Reviewing the songs live from my opinion: Burning In The Skies: Didn't think it had any problems. I liked it a lot. I'd personally still be performing it live and have it before Numb (but if I was in the band I'd drop Numb lol) When They Come For Me: Best live song from the CD. Comes off flawless. Waiting For The End: Struggled in 2010-2011 big time to me. When Chester was mixed lower on the rapping + they added the intro/outro in 2012+ then it became great. I like it a lot now. Blackout: Chester can't nail it, but we all know that. Otherwise I thought it was good. Fan favorite and it's a really unique song. Wretches And Kings: Second best live song from the CD. This one could be done mid set and still get energy going. I loved the London setlist when it didn't open. It fit perfectly with those other songs. Iridescent: So tired of the sampled vocals on the bridge But it's an ok song. Not a big fan...ready for it to go. It didn't SOUND bad at all though. Fallout/The Catalyst: The "muddy" vocals took a while to get used to but I love the song now. It sure didn't fit in the HCT setlists but Catalyst is one of my favorites on the album at the end of the day. I thought it was good live 2010 and I still think it's good live now. The Messenger: Zero problems here. The added drums and piano are great. If anything, add Wretches and WTCFM in for 2014 and keep them there. BITS maybe a little appearance in one set. Don't just play Catalyst and WFTE. Give Catalyst a break at least and maybe WFTE too.

Live Songs Series: "Songs The Band Has Been Nailing Live"

Live Songs Series: "Songs The Band Has Been Nailing Live"
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
There isn't an order to the list. I almost put COG but I think a lot of people would have objected. Maybe that's just me though. This is all opinionated lol I tried to include everything that a lot of people mentioned though. -
Next up in our live song series is a list of a few songs that Linkin Park has really been nailing live. On the Living Things World Tour, we can all agree on a few songs that the band shows extra energy on, or a few songs that sound exceptionally well in the live setting. "Songs The Band Has Been Nailing Live" 1. Papercut This song was not surprisingly on almost every list that people submitted for this series, including ours. And it's also no surprise that Chester said during the Living Things World Tour that Papercut is his all time favorite Linkin Park song. "Alright Pooch, crank that shit up", said Mike at Lisbon's Rock In Rio in 2012. Being put before One Step Closer at the end of the show in the Festival Setlist, Linkin Park knows the fans love Papercut and know that the song will get some energy going in the crowd. Having been played on every tour since 2000 (except the short Summer Tour in 2009), Papercut is a song that LP has been completely nailing live for well over a decade. And then they did the unthinkable by mashing it up with Lying From You! The Set B encore from the last touring cycle was arguably the best encore that the band has presented on stage in many years, perhaps since Projekt Revolution 2004. If there's one thing you can guarantee with the Linkin Park fanbase, it's that just about everyone loves Papercut. We included a fan-shot video from the front row of the Camden show in 2012...where Set B debuted. Check Mike's expressions when the sample for Papercut starts....he LOVES this song. And so do we! 2. With You When With You was absent from setlists in 2007, we were a little sad. Mike in 2009 and 2010 told fans that he knew the hardcore fanbase wanted to see it return. Well, the band finally made it happen in 2012 and it brought up the question of why was it ever gone to begin with?! Hey, we'll take it though if a song comes back in such strong shape six years later. Check out the video from Las Vegas a few months ago - the band is rocking it. With You was a staple on the entire Living Things World Tour, but was a song that was consistently sounding great night after night. Of all of the non-singles in the setlist, we hope that With You stays around after Download Festival, where the band is guaranteed to play it for the Hybrid Theory set. Plus, it'll fit in nicely with the heavy songs on The Hunting Party in the setlists. 3. Lost In The Echo How often has the melody from the beginning of the song gotten stuck in your head since 2012? Half a million times? We even had Jonas from LPLive's staff humming it during the Honda Civic Tour between shows. This song became a fan favorite from Living Things instantly and the band made a strong statement with it by opening the encore with it at the very first show of the Honda Civic Tour in Bristow for its live debut. It's one of the hardest hitting songs off of Living Things and the band can be seen rocking out and with huge smiles on their faces during this one at every single show. The only question we have is... we know it opened KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas in 2012, so when will it open a setlist on tour? Don't miss the video for this one...even with the insane heat in Tokyo for Summer Sonic 2013, Linkin Park is all over the stage jamming on this song. If Linkin Park keeps anything from Living Things for The Hunting Party World Tour, we hope its at least Lost In the Echo! 4. Waiting For The End One of the complaints about Waiting For The End during the A Thousand Suns World Tour was that the song didn't pack enough "punch" during the shows. Was the band listening or what? The Apaches Intro with a verse from Until It Breaks has to be hands down one of the grooviest and and one of the best rap pieces that Shinoda has laid down in a live setting. If Until It Breaks couldn't be played live, the verse sure fit perfectly over the intro for Waiting For The End! And the Wall Of Noise outro - don't forget about that one too. Waiting For The End fit in perfectly in 2012 and 2013, sometimes even coming with zero delay straight from the end of Points Of Authority. As the most popular song from A Thousand Suns with the mainstream, we expect this song to stick around for The Hunting Party's World Tour, but that's completely fine with us as long as it still keeps sounding this good live! Going from an average sounding song in 2010 and 2011 to a force to be reckoned with in 2012 and 2013, Waiting For The End is definitely a song that Linkin Park has been nailing live. 5. One Step Closer Be honest...you were all a little bit nervous (like we were) in the summer of 2011 when the band dropped One Step Closer from a festival setlist or two. As much as we can't blame Linkin Park for giving the song a VERY short break (if you can even call it that), and as much as we know that surely it must get old playing the song 300+ times over so many years....we all know that One Step Closer still kicks ass live. In the end (no pun intended), Crawling was the song that took a break from "the big three" - the three singles on Hybrid Theory that has been played at just about every Linkin Park show since 2001. We commend the band for keeping One Step Closer around for so long, especially with so many Hybrid Theory songs in the setlists on the Living Things World Tour. The only thing we could think of that would improve the song in any way would be to stick the Reanimated bridge back into it, but it still rocks live in any version that the band feels like presenting! What do you think? Do you agree with these five songs? Part 3 will be coming shortly, which is "Songs That Should Admittedly Take A Break", followed by "Songs That Would Be Gladly Welcomed Back"!

Yeah this is way better than MFR 2014. Concert For The Philippines was a bad show. Monterrey is one of the best crowds of 2012 and is up there with Rock im Park and Camden in terms of the best shows of the year in my opinion. APFMH there is insane. And it's the special, big stage Digby helped design. I wish they'd release it with the bonus stuff, but I bet it's just the MTV broadcast without the logos. LP could headline 6+ shows in Mexico like Muse and still bring great crowds.

Live Songs Series: "Songs We Need To See More Of"

When I saw WFTE in Sunrise and Tampa 2011, I told Pooch that for Atlanta he should try turning down Chester on the rapping (beginning and middle). He said that the band requested Chester be mixed loud there but he knows exactly what I mean about the rapping. Crazy lol. Anyway for one show (Atlanta) he turned Chester way down on it and it sounded better to me. Need to see if I can find a live video of it. In 2012, I thought that the band rejuvenated the song 100% and made it sound much better. I love the Apaches Intro and Wall Of Noise outro a lot, so if you keep the song, just keep playing it like that. -
Adam says it's not 2013, that the site is wrong.

Just need Pictureboard and that Thoughts That Take Away My Pride demo.

In this case, UIG doesn't sound like anything else on the album and it's an outlier. It has a totally different "genre" to it. People are disappointed for that reason. You don't have to be a fan of everything LP does - if you like every single thing they do or put out then that's called either being really lucky with your tastes, or being a fanboy/girl.

Wow that tweet is really suggestive. And it's such a random one for him to reply to. If they really do High Voltage, that'd be epic. It'd be the most random song "comeback" they've ever done, but wow that'd be so cool. I'd just hope they keep it around for Carnivores. -
I think they will play most of THP on Carnivores. I think Keys To The Kingdom and/or Wastelands also for the Arizona show + Europe as well as UIG/GATS.

Gotta have some diversity! Can't pick all the songs from Meteora and Hybrid Theory. Don't worry, Figure.09, With You, etc....all of that is in one of these upcoming lists. And the songs to drop has all singles, lol -
I think Until It's Gone will replace New Divide. I hope so, at least.
