  1. Yeah if there is no Download Festival DVD, people will be reaaaaaaally sad haha
  2. On April 30, we decided to start a "live song series" with four categories about Linkin Park's live shows and the songs that they are performing. We thought these four categories would cover most of the songs that fans talk about in the setlists, and with rehearsals starting up for the band, everyone is anxious to know what they'll be playing this summer. So here we go: "Songs We Need To See More Of" In this list, No More Sorrow was one of the top votes in our initial thread. We will save that one for "Songs That Would Be Gladly Welcomed Back" since it wasn't played at all on the short Living Things World Tour. This list has five songs that were played when the band toured for Living Things, but either weren't in more than one setlist and/or were dropped at some point. 1. A Place For My Head It doesn't take a casual visitor to LPLive to know that A Place For My Head is hands down the hardcore fanbase's favorite song to see live. When the song was played in Paris for the Hybrid Theory 10th Anniversary for a one-off performance, you would have thought the Great Depression had set in when fans found out it was for just one show total of the A Thousand Suns World Tour. Luckily, it was brought back in 2012 and remained as the opener for Set B (originally the Festival Headline Set) for the entire world tour. However, just one set might not be enough for some fans. It's no secret that this song really gets any crowd going and is a highlight of any concert it is performed at. While it has been done a million times in the past, the closing of a Linkin Park concert with A Place For My Head and One Step Closer has remained a fan favorite throughout the years. The band has been picky with the song in the past, leaving it off of all 2007 setlists and dropping it again for Projekt Revolution 2008. Here's to hoping that it remains in a few setlists this summer, when the high-energy songs from The Hunting Party will fit in perfectly with this Hybrid Theory classic. 2. When They Come For Me When They Come For Me is another unanimously agreed-upon song that Linkin Park seems to LOVE performing live. Hardly elsewhere can you see Mike bouncing from one side of the stage to the other and the rest of the band looking like they love every aspect of life than when this song is being performed. It made a surprise comeback for the Honda Civic Tour in 2012, but was slowly dropped down to one setlist (Set C) for the remainder of the touring cycle. That set was unfortunately retired for 2013, but the band resurrected it for the one-off show in Las Vegas earlier this year. With a megaphone, a foreign beat that makes anyone that hears it want to dance their asses off, and a very energetic rap section from Shinoda, When They Come For Me is a song that fans definitely want to see performed in 2014. While The Catalyst has been performed at most shows since it was debuted in 2010, When They Come For Me would be a solid replacement for the song should Linkin Park seek to drop a few singles here and there in the setlist and make room for more high-energy songs. 3. From The Inside Sometimes the band is REALLY "on" at a show, and the Rock im Park performance from 2012 is one of those examples. From The Inside has been somewhat of an outlier over the past few years. It was performed a few times in North America for A Thousand Suns, but it was dropped for the Honda Civic Tour after it was in the Festival Set. Since Figure.09 stands a very small chance of returning (having been last played in 2004), From The Inside is a track fans love to see live and would enjoy in a setlist or two for 2014. Chester with those epic intro screams in 2007 and the fact that fans love to sing the bridge with the band makes From The Inside a great song to add to the first part of any set the band is playing. 4. Blackout Who cares if Chester can't nail the screaming on this song at every show? Blackout is a fan favorite from A Thousand Suns and one of the most disappointing things about the song is that it was very rarely played in the United States. It was in the Headline Set in 2012 before the Honda Civic Tour, but was dropped likely because of Victimized/QWERTY being added to the setlist. Still, fans would love to see the song brought back in some form, even if it is in just one setlist. A Thousand Suns doesn't get much love these days at the live shows and Blackout and When They Come For Me could turn that around quickly. It's one of the most unique songs on the record and was performed pretty well when it was in the setlists. 5. Points Of Authority It's no secret that the band loves to perform this song. We just hope that it doesn't see another break like it did in 2010 and 2011 for the A Thousand Suns World Tour. Since Points Of Authority and A Place For My Head will be performed at Download Festival, we are hoping that both songs stick around for the rest of the year. Linkin Park has experimented with the song a lot since 2007, adding different intros and outros to it, but the one on the Living Things World Tour was the studio version and that's just fine with everyone since the song kicks ass start-to-finish and is a very popular non-single in the bands setlists. What do you think? Do you agree with these five songs? Stay tuned for part 2, which will be "Songs The Band Has Been Nailing Live", followed by "Songs That Should Admittedly Take A Break" and "Songs That Would Be Gladly Welcomed Back"!
  3. Here's a recap of what's been going on in the Linkin Park world in case anyone has missed anything: First, the lyric video for Until It's Gone has debuted. Going by what the band has done before in regards to singles, this is not the official music video...that will likely be released sometime later. , , and all had lyric videos before their real videos debuted. Next, the album is climbing quickly in the iTunes charts. You can preorder it in the USA store here. iTunes also released a few more track times for songs on the album: More promotional pictures for the album have been found by MikeShinodaClan, and you can view those on their site here. They have the best photo gallery for Linkin Park on the web, so we recommend you register there if you love pictures of the band (live shows, press conferences, promo pics, etc). Warner Music Germany has an interview series they are slowly releasing where the band is talking about The Hunting Party. The fifth video was released today and has Mike and Brad discussing recording the album at two different locations instead of recording it at NRG, where they usually record albums at. The fifth video can be seen below...browse around the WMG account for the others. Lastly, as we posted before, the official preorders are up on Linkin Park's website for the album. Three packages are available. There will also be a DVD with The Hunting Party but it is for Europe only...however, international fans can preorder it from Amazon.de. Adam confirmed yesterday that the DVD will not be a "making of", so we are going with an educated guess to say that it will be the Concert For The Philippines show. This is NOT confirmed, but it makes sense as Ethan Mates's website listed the following information for February 2014: "Concert for the Philippines 02-24-14 I mixed Linkin Park's performance at the benefit for broadcast and dvd, and continued recording new Linkin Park album in LA." Hopefully we will find out if our guess is correct about the DVD soon! It is possible that the DVD will be something along the lines of A Thousand Suns+ (the Madrid 2010 show) and Living Things+ (the Berlin 2012 show).
  4. Good catch on the So Far Away stuff. Those are definitely alternate versions of that song. I wonder if they worked on it during the Meteora sessions. It wouldn't surprise me. That's definitely the Thoughts That Take Away My Pride demo in the LPTV from Summer Sanitarium. That might be a completed b-side that we get someday from the band. The other stuff sounds like just normal beats and stuff.
  5. lololol
  6. DVD is Europe only...one of the most questionable things I've seen from the band. I'd think 9/10 fans would want a DVD over an art book or lithograph lol. Preordering it from Amazon.de. It'll be here before the CD is released here I bet. Preordered the ATS CD/DVD and it arrived in great time. Didn't preorder LT because there wasn't a DVD. Info on the DVD is in the main post.
  7. One question - where is a "making of" DVD? That's the best part.....
  8. Via http://thehuntingparty.linkinpark.com/, you can now preorder the band's new album from their website. In the deluxe edition you will find a lithograph and art book. 9. I said nothing about mainstream music. Of course I listen to mainstream music: http://www.last.fm/user/Hahninator/library But not a whole lot of pop. I was saying the last time I've seen a 110% positive reaction to a new song that wasn't a mix of all sorts of different opinions was for No More Sorrow in April 2007.
  10. Has anyone had any luck on the Tampa Finals stuff?
  11. Basically I meant songs like Lying From You, Figure.09, From The Inside, A Place For My Head, etc kick the ass of In Between, Shadow Of The Day, Iridescent, etc...you can't say entire albums are better than others because some songs rock so much that they make other songs look like nothing. LP mastered being able to take samples of noises/sounds and craft them into these great tracks on Meteora. I'm a big fan.
  12. Lots of negative reactions, wow. Not what I thought the LP fanbase would be dishing out. But hey, if it's pop and it's not rock then that's expected. Anyone remember when this happened? This is the last time I have seen every inch of the LP fanbase shit their pants at the same time over a new song. QWERTY did it too. But this...holy shit. Every forum exploded lol. NMS will never sound "normal" to me on MTM due to how much I played this video.
  13. lololol Lying From You takes a shit on Shadow Of The Day and so on and so forth...I could go on for pages.
  14. Holding off because listening to a single always makes the first listen to a CD weird for me. I've had a hard time describing it but for a lot of first and second singles that are released before a CD drops, I rarely ever listen to them when I play a CD start-to-finish. ATS is an exception since it's a concept album but I've constantly skipped the studio versions of Somewhere I Belong, What I've Done, BID, etc for years. Nothing wrong with the songs but it's odd to be so familiar with a song or two before a CD drops when the rest of the CD is 100% foreign. I love Guilty All The Same so I'll wait for the other 11 songs in June
  15. Unfortunately we don't have the dates. We do know of the tour though and that the band pulled the plug on it, not sure why though. Either to work on The Mall soundtrack or because something came up in the personal lives of the band.
  16. There was. Fall 2012 there was a full-on European Tour which had UK arena dates as usual but LP cancelled before it got announced....we don't know why.
  17. Not insulting the UK fans and it's not your fault but I find it really funny LP had him premiere LGM and LP didn't even play in the UK for Living Things lol
  18. Live Version it is then. What's funny is that in the live guide in 2014 for the new version, I listened to all 3 versions and tried to come up with a way to accurately list it. I ended up with "Reprise Version; Live Beginning". I didn't know there were other differences like the guitar though. I will get it changed to Live Version. Good recommendation. For And One we listed it as Short Live Version; Wind Intro.
  19. Now...to listen to the song or wait until the CD drops. For the other albums the only studio version of stuff I listened to would be LGM since I disliked BID. I think I'll wait.
  20. I generally use Reprise to refer to like a Part 2 of a song, like Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, or even the O song on the new Coldplay CD (but O is called Part 2 I think). For DMB, a reprise at their shows is when they play a song like Lie In Our Graves mid show and then play the 3 min outro/ending by itself in the encore. "Reprise can refer to a version of a song which is similar to, yet different from, the song on which it is based." The term can be used pretty loosely in music based on that definition. What you're saying about Carousel and Part Of Me (and And One, which is unreleased) being redone after the HTEP was released in order to enter them in the running for Hybrid Theory....is that a reprise? Is DMB even correct when they use reprise like that instead of using "Ending" or something? I definitely wouldn't call the HTEP Carousel and Part Of Me versions "demos" since they were officially released. If anything, I think the community referred to the redone one as like "Post-HTEP demos" or something. The High Voltage version was essentially a remix. I'm surprised there is no official name for it since they call both versions (which are totally different) just High Voltage.
  21. Can't find one. Brings up a good question - is that title something a fan gave? For 5.0 on the live guide we list is as (Reprise Version)
  22. Just listened because of the post and wow I've never noticed that before either. I've been listening to this song since I was in 6th grade lol, well over 10 years, and I haven't even heard it. Right before it, "with a tendency to make up stories" an echo in the background seems to say "bullshit". Most of it is censored but I have always thought that's what it says there. I haven't compared it to a live version though. When I rap the song when I'm listening to it myself I always say the bullshit part, haha. I wonder why they don't censor "get your ass kicked" but censor "fuck" and maybe "bullshit".
  23. As the Linkin Park news is slowing down a bit and with rehearsals about to start up for Linkin Park (the first show is less than a month away), we decided to do a four part series on the live songs for the band just to get some discussion going about the touring for the band and the song performances. Since we did a live poll in 2013 about what rarer songs you wanted to see performed live, we thought it'd be a bit redundant to do the same thing again. This time, we are doing a four part series starting shortly featuring about five or six songs that fit into each category. We definitely have some songs in mind for each, but if you want to submit your ideas for each category - feel free to join in! The winners of our 2013 live poll were (top 10, in order): Figure.09 P5hng Me A*wy Don't Stay Reading My Eyes Easier To Run High Voltage (Reprise Version) Wretches & Kings And One No More Sorrow The four part series that we are doing (dealing with the live songs in the setlists) will have the titles of: Songs We Need To See More Of Songs The Band Has Been Nailing Live Songs That Should Admittedly Take A Break Songs That Would Be Gladly Welcomed Back If you want to help us out, feel free! Part one will be coming soon!
  24. Dang I really want them to keep Runaway in the setlist for Carnivores....
  25. I emailed DomainFest about the 12 song set. Maybe they'll reply. EDIT: Wow ok they replied! Not bad! Adding it to the main post!
