"Guilty All The Same" - New Linkin Park Single!
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
http://variety.com/2014/music/games/linkin...ame-1201144855/ http://www.shacknews.com/article/83694/lin..._medium=twitter Another weird music video collab with a company. Wish they'd return to performance videos and jam again. Here it is: our collaboration with Project Spark. Instead of a traditional music video for GUILTY ALL THE SAME (feat. Rakim), we are giving you this as a starting line for you guys to create and share. This is the first interactive, remixable game. We look forward to seeing what you make with it." - Joe -
Anyone have links handy for the Meteora, MTM, ATS and LT song boards from the studio? If I recall correctly they all had the songs on them that made the album and didn't have any extra songs. Maybe ATS had one extra non-album one? Or MTM with NRL?

Yes! In 5.0 I have fixed that show too, I just didn't mess with it for this version of the site. It's the exact same thing as Minnesota this year. The venues were fixed by me too...they weren't specific enough. 2007.08.28 Syracuse, NY, New York State Fair Grandstand, New York State Fair 2014.08.26 Falcon Heights, MN, Minnesota State Fair Grandstand, Minnesota State Fair

I guess don't add Japan, if you did you could put a star by it and say "*Japan Tour: Escape From The Studio Tour for 4 shows" or something. New Divide's little tour thing started with Westwood I guess technically. I'd never add incomplete shows to this list (same as you) but that was the premiere show and New Divide was written specifically for the movie so fuck it lol
-
I agree. Usually when radio stations take over/sponsor a show of a tour, they don't add more bands. I made sure in 5.0 (huge site upgrade info-wise) that I listed them all on the year/show pages. Now that I'm not on my phone, I'll describe the cases where it's been done for LP before: Nottingham 2003 - This one is unique. As far as we know, either BBC legit booked this show or LP booked it and BBC paid/got it to be exclusive for BBC and BBC winners (and a few LPU after that) only. But it wasn't announced on LP.com. Other examples of this are London 2001 at BBC (a secret show), and the MTV show in Milan in 2001. These aren't exactly what we are talking about though. ------ East Rutherford 2003 - K-Rock's DFP-7-Tarium. Instead of hosting their own summer show that year, K-Rock "sponsored" (or whatever you want to call it) the Summer Sanitarium stop there. I'd love to know more technical details about this kind of stuff - how it happens, how much it costs, etc. LP returned to play the K-Rock winter festival that December too. In 2001, LP played the K-Rock DFP 5 show in Wantagh but it was NOT a part of Ozzfest, it was a legit radio show. Noblesville 2004 - X-103's X-Fest 10. Same deal as East Rutherford - radio station sponsors the local summer stop of the tour. Projekt Rev. It didn't happen on Projekt Revolution 2007 as far as I know. I followed the whole tour and didn't see it... Atlanta 2008 - Project 96.1 Revolution. Project usually hosted a fall festival show and also a spring show called Project Cinco (for 3-4 years in a row)...this one was a summer one in 2008. Just sponsored the ATL show. An interesting note is that a local DJ came up and introduced LP to the stage at this show - only time I have ever seen that at an LP show. It definitely didn't happen on the Honda Civic Tour. I think that tour was too big for that to happen, lol Tinley Park 2014 - 101WKQX's Piqniq Festival. For the first time, they are adding more bands. I'm sure they had to pay LP a lot for that, what do you think? I've never seen a show like this with more bands. With how rare this is, I bet it's a costly thing for stations to do. From my understanding with the four cases I listed above (2003, 2004, 2008 and 2014), Linkin Park books the tour themselves and then a radio station comes in and says they want to do this. I don't think the station is bringing Linkin Park in specifically themselves. I'd be surprised if I am wrong on that assumption. From the way I look at it, if you wanted to call the Camden show "Soul's Summer Rock Festival" I bet you could with a lot of cash haha.

The Living Things cycle started at the May House of Blues show in LA. That was the first full show for that album. Technically if you want to be specific, the 2009 tour was 99% for New Divide and 1% LP wanted to get out of the studio and play a little bit. You can put New Divide Tour or something for it in this list if you want I am surprised it didn't get called that in the end. 2006 has no name I guess. Escape from the studio haha

http://www.pursuitofdopeness.com/2014/03/1...ds-to-mars-afi/ Tinley Park is getting the radio festival treatment (like we've seen before on pr04 and pr08)... More bands will be announced for that show.

2013 Live Poll: What songs do you want to see added to the setlists?
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Live Talk
Yeah I'm about to do a 2014 poll in a week or so. -
The guest thing is weird. Mike says no more guests, Brad says a few more guests. I think the new song will be from Transformers 4 and will probably be a new song on the album. Or maybe the T4 song is with Steve Aoki. They were in the studio with him recently.

Mike discussed new Linkin Park, 'Guilty All The Same' and the music industry as a whole with Hip Hop DX. An interesting note is that he says there will NOT be any other collaborations for the album, contradicting what Brad just said the other day. The band will also be releasing a new song before the summer. The album title is rumored to be 'The Hunting Party' and will be coming out in June, so perhaps the new song will be released in May. Here are some highlights: DX: Will you be doing any more collaborations for the album? Mike Shinoda: No I don’t think so, only Rakim. It’s hard to follow that up with anyone else. I actually had a hard time rapping on any song after he came in, like Jesus Christ, how can I pretend I can rap after this guy’s been in the room? It was inspiring though. Honestly it forced me to go and take a long look at my lyrics and really push myself to write better stuff. Having him there and seeing him do it was inspiring. But the album will be released this Summer. At least one more song will be given out as well before Summer comes. Thats new info too, haven't told anyone else. DX: The rest of the album, what are we in for? Mike Shinoda: It’s a Rock record. It’s loud and it’s Rock, but not in the sense of what you’ve heard before, which is more like ‘90s Hardcore-Punk-Thrash. But from time to time we do flex the beatmaking and sampling and a record isn't done ‘til we add a little of that color to it. You even hear it in “Guilty All The Same” in sections. We break it down to samples that are made with the keyboard then switch it up with sampled guitars. We try to reference some of our favorite older music while still keeping it futuristic. DX: When you approached Rakim for the project, what were his thoughts on it? Mike Shinoda: It was so funny how that happened. We were in the studio listening to the track and originally I was gonna Rap in the bridge and I said as I was listening to it I thought it was predictable for me to rap a verse right here. Like that's not as exciting as it could be. What could we do that would be shocking? And I joked [that] you know we’ve already done stuff with Jay Z, what if we got Rakim? Like I thought it would be impossible, but the engineer was like I can get to him if you want me to. I said, 'You're fucking kidding me.' He said, 'You know my buddy back in New York was his engineer and lived near him, and I’ll just give him a shout and see if he can reach out and ask the question.' I said, 'Well it doesn’t hurt so do it.' Next thing I know a week later I was on the phone with the guy. Source: MikeShinodaClan Read the full interview here. Thoughts?

It's possible man. Chester just snaps his finger and stuff gets moved around, etc. Remember he joined Chris Cornell for Hunger Strike on PR08 and also ASHES dIVIDE a little bit too. And Jesus please drop Iridescent from the whole tour. No more sampled gang vocals in the live show.

Chester: Carnivores Tour Update + Transformers 4
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
That M&G will occur either just before or just after the LPU one. They are doing them back-to-back. The "early entry" is a total selling point/dumb thing to put for that because you'll have to leave the front row to go to the M&G and you won't be able to go back, lol. Early entry there is just pointless for that package unless it's for the lounge thing they are doing. The M&G guarantees you will lose whatever pit spot you have as the M&G ends JUST before Mars finishes their set, just AS Mars finishes their set, or just after Mars finishes their set. -

Linkin Park often doesn't even arrive to the shows until 8:00-8:30pm. They fly/take helicopters/black sedans to the shows and get there late. They are an older band now so they aren't a band that shows up at 12:00pm to hang out and fly planes in the parking lot and jam all day long lol. They go to the show to do the M&G, play the show and adios leave. The M&Gs occur just before the setup for their set begins, meaning you'll miss the band just before LP. You'll see AFI. -

The entire thing for sure. The LPU M&G will be right near the end of the 30STM set if it's like the Honda Civic Tour. They'll have you line up a few songs in for Mars, like 1-2 songs in lmao or even just as they start. Then you wait for 30+ mins in line (more if the band is late, as they often are, since these days they often go straight from the vehicles to the venue to the M&G. If you win an LPU M&G, you'll see little to nothing of Mars. -
Keep LIVING THINGS all caps or change them?
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Information and Support
If we change it what do we do about QWERTY and ALTNC? -
https://twitter.com/heydudeimadam/status/441411609680826369 "RIP #ALLCAPSEVERYTHING. It was fun while it lasted." LP used an interesting form of marketing for LIVING THINGS, by requesting that all of the songs be capitalized (as well as the album name) whenever you discussed the album. It was sent to iTunes that way, it was written that way since early 2012 when BURN IT DOWN first came out. With the LIVING THINGS cycle over, should we return these songs to normal capitalization? Or keep them in ALL CAPS? Up to you guys!

I highly doubt with a new album dropping LP is going to play under their usual set length. -

So if 30 Seconds To Mars gets an hour or so...that means with Leto talking, they'll have enough time for 3 songs? -
Please separate the list into 2000-2006 and 2007-current day lol. LP in 2007 reached a different status for a live band and they headlined almost everything from then on out. It's confusing to have the old shit mixed in. Here's when they opened for other bands: http://lplive.net/shows/20070613.php Chorzow 2007 (only regular / non-festival show 2007-now that LP opened for someone at) http://lplive.net/shows/20070608.php Lisboa 2007 (Oeiras Alive! - played before Pearl Jam) Venice 07 at Heinekin Jammin' on the same tour they were playing before Pearl Jam but the show got cancelled http://lplive.net/shows/20070707.php Live Earth 2007, weird festival but they played before Kumi Koda and Rihanna. Strange deal...with a huge show of that size (not a normal festival), that doesn't really count IMO http://lplive.net/shows/20090725.php Pori 2009 - LP played before Metallica Sonisphere UK they headlined w/ Metallica...LP on one day and Metallica on the other day, so that doesn't count http://lplive.net/shows/20090822.php Pomona 2009 - LP played before Tool http://lplive.net/shows/20120526.php Lisboa 2012 (Rock In Rio) - LP played before The Smashing Pumpkins, in what is one of the weirdest festival bookings to me. That's likely due to logistics or something (LP having to play the next day and/or Smashing Pumpkins getting in late for that show, who knows) - LP draws a HUGE crowd at that festival. Under normal circumstances that wouldn't happen. http://lplive.net/shows/20120922.php iHeart Radio in Vegas 2012 - LP played somewhere in between some of those bands (lmao, I give zero fucks about that show)...not really concerned about it *SOUNDWAVE 2013 - LP headlined their STAGE at all 5 shows but due to the stages being connected, TECHNICALLY they played just before Metallica, so you can add that. http://lplive.net/shows/20130810.php Chiba 2013 - LP played before Metallica http://lplive.net/shows/20130811.php Osaka 2013 - LP played before Metallica (both were Summer Sonic) Technically at festivals it doesn't count as LP "opening" for other bands to me but I mean this works if you want to just make a list of it all. Sorry that we don't have the lineups listed on the current show pages - we have them in 5.0. I THINK that's it for 2007-now. Other notes: LP didn't headline MFR 05, they opened for No Doubt The cancelled Austria 2004 show...LP was at least opening for Metallica (maybe more? Slipknot too right?)

Oh please don't combine the Summits lol The Steve Aoki show is in Miami. If it was in LA, LP would join I bet. I doubt Mike and Chester go to Miami just for that.
