  1. But he mentions this 3-song demo twice (in both his videos I think). At first I thought he got the Xero tape wrong because it's 4 songs and 1 1/2 made it on the album. But then he mentions it again that they started on the next batch of songs after the original show case 3-song tape which became the 4-song Xero tape (presumably). Never knew of that and I doubt there is a lot left from it after all this time (see the "Rhinestone" audition tape rip). I haven't listened to it yet, but "Dialate" might be one of those songs. Btw: The videos contain more little bits of information which is not in the written version.
  2. So now we have a new holy grail with the three-song demo before the Xero tape? Boy oh boy...
  3. Oh wow! I actually thought about this a couple days ago. How cool would it be to have all the HT era shows, especially with HT20 on the horizon. Looking forward to it
  4. Seeing what they did with the other songs on "Amends" there are a lot of possibilities for a banger.
  5. Hopefully my boy "Saturation" will get the treatment.
  6. Oh, for sure. There was some ridiculous stuff in the past. I'm actually really happy that didn't go overboard this time around.
  7. @hahninator Thank you for the long post. It just baffles my mind how anyone could call this a cash grab. There is so much stuff in there that 180ish currency units are an incredible price for value. It proves that you can do your very best and still people will try to call you out for it. This could've gone for a bit more and would still be a great package.
  8. Compared to the Xero tape, I was shocked at how bad Mark sounded overall. Could hardly recognize him. But I have no real idea anymore on how the song went aside from the obvious melody we all knew before. Plus I think the version we are getting will sound a lot more clean and better produced. I imagine the difference being like between "Rhinestone" from the Xero tape and the "Forgotten" demo.
  9. Meteora is probably one of their most well known albums which is considered by many to be a classic. After MTM they lost a lot of their earlier fans. The first two albums are often in the run for best LP album by more casual people. Plus I think it would make a great package overall because there was a lot more stuff during that era. Oh, and obviously "No Roads Left" with Chester would be on my top 2 list, too.
  10. This one is it for me. Ever since I watched the LPTV episode for the very first time in... January(?) 2003 (imagine all the hype after so much time without any real new LP stuff!) I couldn't get it out of my head. To this day I catch myself humming the melody of this thing and I hope we'll get it with Meteora20 (which has to be a thing). For all I know it could be the same as "Thoughts That..." but however it may be, receiving this song will be a full circle kind of thing for me. Pretty much all my holy grails are from the HT and Meteora days. So one down, one more to go ;).
  11. The only reason for "She Couldn't" sounding outdated today is because it is a demo from 1999. The song itself with a bit more polishing and better equipment would be a great song today by any standards. Im with "Qwerty18" on this one. Even in its current form the song creates a mesmerizing atmosphere. It's probably one of my favorites from the HT era.
  12. An interview would be a great chance to close some of the gaps in the pre HT (album) days. You guys would be perfect for this and now is probably THE best time to do it.
  13. Oh wow, I suspected that but hoped for more of a continuation from Ozzfest which was pretty much the end of Frat Party 1. We might even get the very first footage of some Reanimation work. The work for that started in 2001 and we know some people recorded vocals on the bus for example. So many possibilites :). I think PR 2002 is the only tour of which we have zero video sources, right? At least one of a very few. Makes it special by itself, as you said.
  14. Just want to throw it out there: I bet Frat Party 2 will have easter eggs like the first one does. Who knows, maybe another home taped performance?
  15. Oh, my statement wasn't adressed at you in particular. It all depends on what someone is looking for in this box set. It's our fault in the end that we always listened to everything that leaked in the last 20 years and therefore know most of the stuff. Still if you see this box set as the ultimate HT experience, there is not much to complain about from that point of view. Plus all the video content is really cool and special and the book will be a great addition, too. I'm just happy to be having all these songs and demos in one place. Still can't believe it to be honest :D.
  16. I'm all in for missing some stuff here and there. But honestly, a real complaint about the content of the box seems just silly. The only thing that's a bit of a shame are the different bundles, though. But overall the price tag is incredible. That's some real value for money.
  17. RaR feels weird, kind of. But it was also one of LP's first really big festival crowd shows + on foreign soil. So it has some place in their history. I remember vividly how great it was, to see them "live" for the very first time via stream that day. Always loved the show because even though the weather is poor and it is daylight (rather cloudy though) they absolutely rocked the place. It also adds variety when you already have two indoor shows, one smaller and one pretty big. Anyway, I'm so hyped :)! Very cool to see all your enthusiasm aswell!
  18. They delivered everything I asked for. This is so great! Love it.
  19. Just one more thought for today: With the unreleased and unknown songs getting released we can compile a pretty nice "album" of Hybrid Theory (the band). Compiling all the songs plus demo versions of later HT (album) songs can give us a feel of what the band was without any major outside interference (label, producer, random). Just a couple of guys working on their vision and creating songs how they see them fit. It's basically the "underground" phase of the band which was always appealing to me at least. Blue So Far Away Slip Dedicated Dilate Could Have Been Pictureboard (maybe ;)) She Couldn't + The original versions of the album versions we will receive which differ significantly lyric-wise Esaul Rhinestone Super Xero Points Of Authority Stick 'n Move (maybe the full song ;)) Crawling Untitled Should be a really cool experience which I'm looking forward to.
  20. Same, man! I'm just so hyped for something LP-related again and love to dive into speculations and stuff like all of us. I'm incredibly happy with what got announced so far plus the very probable chance of Frat Party 2 and PR02 live. We never had a full pro shot show from 02 so this is great!
  21. Well, I kinda disagree. Even though they were part of the LPU releases, they would complete the HT cycle and would make a nice addition to have them all in one place. Now is the chance to properly do this. Don't forget that many people probably don't even know about those songs and they are full versions with vocals, so they have their worth. To me it would feel a bit like a missed opportunity, but at least (as you have pointed out) we have those songs. And about the other demos, I don't think a remaster is that big of feature on those. Sure they will sound a bit louder but demos are demos for a reason, especially those that have been out since forever. But I guess this is all up to personal preference. "Esaul" was on an LPU release, too, btw.
  22. Personally, I don't think "Esaul", "Super Xero", "Carousel", POA and "Crawling" will be new demos that we don't know. All of those have been out there for a long time and I don't see why there would be other versions included but we'll see. I would have liked for the LPU songs to be included here ("Slip", "So Far Away", "Blue") as well to make the collection of songs complete. But it's ok, I won't really complain just yet before we know what we are facing :).
  23. Oh yeah, I totally agree with you. I don't think there will be behind the scenes stuff from the recording process. But they could still tell the story of the album without it. The vault includes rehearsal and live footage which can help build a narrative. Throw in some pictures here and there, the band members narrating the whole thing and you could tell this episode of the HT cycle. Shortly after the release the band started to document themselves via video and I'm sure there is a whole lot of footage that never got released (case in point, the whirlpool stuff). Thus a Frat Party part 2 is not fully out of the question, seeing as it was more a touring documentary footage-wise. I know that the whole thing is not really likely but still the chance is there if you like to follow vague hints :D. Ah, and I would fancy a nice book as well. There needs to be something visually to tell the stories of this album cycle.
  24. My body is ready. There is a huge chance that we will get stuff that was longed for by fans since the early days of the album's life cycle. Unbelievable what possibilites there are for a great box set. Finally getting the chance to listen to Chester's audition tape would be amazing. I'm so incredibly hyped. It's like reliving my teen years. I also have some hopes for a Frat Party part 2 kind of thing because I can't recall the snippets from the mails being out anywhere. A retrospective documentary about the album and its cycle would be a cherry on the icing of the huge ass nostalgia cake. I'm willed to throw hard earned cash at this thing.
  25. I hope it doesn't get ridiculous with the pricing. 500€ is almost guaranteed to be silly. There is not much that could justify such a price tag. There barely was in the past with other LP box-sets. I'm just hoping for a nice video thing (privat archives, live performance would be great) and little thingys going along with it. Nothing that should even come close to half a thousand currency units... Different categories seem reasonable, I just hope they don't blow it with the pricing.
