Yass Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 (edited) I've just found this interview of Mike talking about what will the new album sound like. http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/linkin...003976097.story Edited May 22, 2009 by nkramar Edited thread title. Quote
Jen Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 "I think I have some of the Fort Minor (his rap side project) energy in me that wants to come out, so you'll probably hear more rapping on it," Shinoda says. "I don't know if it'll be a little or a lot, but I now I've been sitting down writing a lot of verses, so there's a better chance of those making it on the record." Awesome. I am really excited by that little bit of information Quote
Revolution1985 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I hope there is some more Mike on this cd, just sucks we have to wait so long. Quote
MarathonMan Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Well, he didn't Metntion Meteora. Maybe it'll be closer to that sound. Quote
lp12311 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Well, he didn't Metntion Meteora. Maybe it'll be closer to that sound. I don't think he mentioned Meteora because of its similar sound to HT. It'll probably be a whole new sound. Quote
mvaug002 Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 i remember i added on here a while ago that he wanted to use some energy like he did in the fort minor tracks and everyone laughed at me lol well i knew i was right Quote
spraypaintninkpens Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 i remember i added on here a while ago that he wanted to use some energy like he did in the fort minor tracks and everyone laughed at me lol well i knew i was right It'd be nice if Mike raps 90% of the time on the album and chester is barely featured to make up for MTM. Quote
mvaug002 Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 really off topic but this playlist has almost every lp song and some we probably havent heard...i know there are alot on here i have never heard..some are not lp but mike or chester http://www.imeem.com/cavopollo/playlist/jV...-music-playlist Quote
LPxDC Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 It'd be nice if Mike raps 90% of the time on the album and chester is barely featured to make up for MTM.Wtf? Thats stupid. kind of off topic but this playlist has almost every lp song and some we probably havent heard...i know there are alot on here i have never heard..some are not lp but mike or chester http://www.imeem.com/cavopollo/playlist/jV...-music-playlist Why would you post that here? Papelbon Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 Atleast he told you it was off topic Although, agreed, does not belong in here at all....... Quote
JZLP-Benningstrong Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 HEY guys.. what happened with Brad's chat? something interesting? Quote
GraDoN Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 yeah what happened to the chat? these articles are very broad and does not give anything away, same old lp. well i like that they are going for something more unique, i dont care what sound they go form, i just want it to be unique Quote
spraypaintninkpens Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 Wtf? Thats stupid. No it's not. Fm> lp. Quote
bout2break Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 (...) you'll probably hear more rapping on it (...) YES Brad's chat was ok btw. Way better than the Phoenix chat, though Brad stayed only for about 45 mins. Quote
wiiesel Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 I would love to hear Mike rapping again! I'm very excited about this new album because of this great news all the time.... Quote
Geki Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 It'd be nice if Mike raps 90% of the time on the album and chester is barely featured to make up for MTM. I'd rather have it be a perfect balance of Mike and Chester. Quote
zuben7o7 Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 No mention of the "concept album" lately makes me wonder if that kinda took a sidestep out the door. Who knows. I just thought it would be brought back up. Mike will be rapping on this album, and I think it will be very much in the mold of what we have been experiencing in the POA intro/outro mold. I think it would be sweet to hear him lay down a new LP verse with some nice drum loop like the one they used on tour with some bass on there. Also, There They Go was sweet on PR 08, lots of energy and great instrumentals. Quote
Linkindude92 Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 its not that i dont like Hands Held High but i want mike to do meteora stuff on this record Quote
AilinaAnn1988 Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 (edited) don't delete what i post.fyi if ya'll read the whole article it does say they have a producer for the new album Edited May 23, 2009 by AilinaAnn1988 Quote
nkramar Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 don't delete what i post Can you be more specific? I've seen you make this claim previously... If you feel your posts are being deleted without merit, please PM one of the mods or admin, don't make off topic posts in news threads. Thanks. Quote

zuben7o7 Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 The vagueness of the "producer" quote leads me to believe the producer is Mike himself. If they have half of the music done, wouldn't it be a bit of a shakeup to bring in a new face this late in the game? Mike has produced a lot of their work, including New Divide, and I definitely see him being the only one on the back cover. Quote
AudioNick Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 I didn't think about that. That's a great thought! I think Mike may be the producer but also use an external producer to draft in ideas and help guide the band? No? Quote
Jug Of Water Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 maybe they won't be so light like M2M. hoping it'll be a mix of meteora sound in there if it says its not HT Quote
