A sports team wouldn't use photos of one of their players playing for another team to promote themselves. A movie wouldn't use footage of its lead actor from another movie to promote itself.

A band shouldn't use photos/footage of its lead singer performing for another band to promote themselves. Particularly when said "other band" is one of the biggest rock groups of the last 20 years, and your dead singer is the only member of your band who isn't a fucking nobody.

Hilariously, the amount of shit they talk about LP and yet they have to use an LP photo to sell their shit...

Has nothing to do with it being a photo of Chester. Has to do with the band involved in the photo.

Are you talking about the one with CB and the rest of GD like on the spotify page ?

I really dont have no problem with it, thats how most people recognize Chester, high quality promo shots, it would look silly if they used 20 year old shots of chester.

The band and the music they are going to release is 20 years old so actually there wouldnt be any problem with them using a 20 years old photo

I was wondering as well tbh. Selling physical copies is not a thing since like 2010 lol. And during the quarantine actually people might stream Music more so maybe it would be a smart move to release it in April. Or maybe they have planned some promo i dont know.

What does a band who has no opportunity of touring benefit from postponing an album release, especially when physical sales are not anything like they used to be?

Cause the sales would be even worse

This is a major release Grey Daze is doing fine they are in some top 10 billboard rock charts.

Like it or not.

How would sales be impacted at all? The vast majority, if not all, physical sales would happen online and obviously streaming/digital downloads wouldn't be impacted at all. They're not touring on this. If they said vinyl/CD shipments were delayed until later, that'd make sense, but postponing the whole album is strange.

I have a feeling they had more plans for filming promo material over the next couple weeks that got put on hold with everybody quarantined. Or maybe one of their distribution warehouses is closed at the moment.

This might be the case. Other than that, postponing doesnt make any sense.
