Linkin Park has teamed up with Urgency Network to send someone to space. The whole idea is to donate to charity for your chance to win a trip to space. This is the article:

"I've often dreamt of flying a rocket ship into space—as I'm sure we all have—and always get stuck on one thing: What's your spaceflight mixtape going to be? My most recent vote has been for Nazareth's "Hair of the Dog," which would just crush as you raced out of the atmosphere strapped to a massive tube of explosive material.

But I'm just some guy on the internet, and no one cares about my musical suggestions. What does Linkin Park think?

"I wonder if that would be weird, actually, to listen to music," Mike Shinoda told us. "It cheapens the Moon landing. Classical is a better choice than Linkin Park, I can tell you that much.

For the first episode of our mini-series Spaced Out with Friends, we hung out with Shinoda and Joe Hahn to talk about taking a space vacation, and (spoiler) both guys are fully on board to cruise the heavens.

Now, I'm not sure if Linkin Park is actually going to throw a space concert any time soon. But if you, dear reader, want to leave Earth, we've got the perfect chance: We partnered with Urgency Network to send someone to space. And yeah, you'll probably want to bring Hybrid Theory for the ride up."

There is also a video Mike and Joe did about it here.

From the band's Facebook page:
Linkin Park x UFC - "Wastelands"

This video contains footage of UFC fights and footage from Linkin Park's performance of Wastelands in Rock in Rio Lisbon earlier this year (only video, the audio is from the studio version).

Thoughts? This is the first of probably two Wastelands videos, with the collaboration with the IAVA coming up.

Greetings everyone, I have some good news for you from here in Portugal.

According to AFP (Portuguese Music Associtation in English):

"This week the album "The Hunting Party" by Linkin Park (pictured) debut in the lead of the national top sales records, while in the second place we find "Music Is My World" from Disney star Violetta. In third position we find another first: the "Ultraviolence" by Lana Del Rey "

It is a great pride for me and of course for all the portuguese LP fans.

Linkin Park is currently working on their seventh album, which vocalist Mike Shinoda expects will emerge in the second half of 2016.

"I've been on a tear in the studio right now with the band," he tells Rolling Stone. "We've been making so much new material. … A lot of this stuff is, we're just kind of experimenting a lot with all the different directions the band can go."

Shinoda is mum on what sounds are informing the follow-up to their 2014 alterna-metal blazer The Hunting Party, saying it's too early to tell. "We're just … really heavily focusing on the melodies. Some of the music is coming together here and there but it's really, right now, more about the words and melodies. So I don't actually know what the sound of the record is going to be like yet."

Shinoda recently re-emerged with a rebooted version of his hip-hop side hustle Fort Minor, remixing "Get a Dog" by tangled wordsmiths Homeboy Sandman and Aesop Rock. "I don't think the next Linkin Park record is going to sound like this remix. But I think there's a part of me, as just like as a person and also as an artist that I knowwith every record I am hunting for inspiration. I get that through experiences with people around me."

Since the release of The Hunting Party, Linkin Park has been laying relatively low. A 17-date tour to support the record was mostly abandoned after vocalist Chester Bennington suffered a leg injury. The band made a guest appearance on the Steve Aoki single "Darker Than Blood" last year.

Linkin Park are enjoying their most recent wave of success thanks to a viral video where YouTube user The Unusual Suspect mashed up what he claims is "183 movies" to sing their 2000 hit "In the End"

"I can't believe this guy edited all these movies together," says Shinoda. "I can't even imagine. What, did he start in in 2005? How do you have the time to do something like that?! I was really impressed. I love it."
