LPU XIV is officially out, but this time is a little bit different - no more 50%-50% between demos with vocals to instrumentals. This time it's 8(!) instrumental demos, 1 "cookie" and 1 original demo of Breaking The Habit with vocals by Mike. It seems like the band attached this LPUnderground CD to the entire The Hunting Party theme, and chose a lot of heavy demos.

LPU XIV tracklist:
1. Aubrey One (2009 Demo)
2. Malathion+Tritonus (2008 Berlin Demo)
3. Berlin One, Version C (2009 Demo)
4. Blanka (2008 Demo)
5. Heartburn (2007 Demo)
6. Breaking The Habit (Original Mike 2002 Demo)
7. Dave's Beat feat. Joe (2009)
8. Froctagon (2009 Demo)
9. Rhinocerous (2002 Demo)
10. After Canada (2005 Demo)

Malathion is the most Metallica track LP has ever done, i'm sad that they did not completed this track it had a lot of potential but I can see why it was never finished it was part of the ATS era, it doesn't fits the atmosphere of that album.

Blanka is another good song, great riffs.

I don't really like this new trend of instrumental albums, atleast last year we got Primo which is one of my favorite LP songs of all time and now we got a stupid robot song and an AWFUL sounding Mike, I don't blame him it's just a demo he has improved a lot.

I won't listen to this album again, I will probably revisit it to make ringtones.

That was an interesting listen, and I have to say, I am really surprised at the raw, heavy, dirty sound of those ATS demos.

Also, I just love the fact that all of those, except for BTH, were totally unknown tracks. It just feels better, in my opinion, to discover brand new stuff rather than alternative versions of old stuff.

Favorite tracks: Aubrey One, Blanka, Rhinocerous

I don't think Mike improved. If he would try to sing that high now, he would still sound like that! But that's ok. He's not a singer and it is a demo.

I miss tracks like ATL. Some of these demos are interesting but I don't think that I'm going to listen to them twice.

Please, Blanka in English is what? Im excited, because Blanka in Czech language is female first name, name of Prague tunnel complex, and other. And in 2008 LP had one show in Czech Rep (Brno).

Blanka is a character from Street Fighter lol:

But I guess there's another meaning.

I just think that BTH win above all for it's meaning in the Linkin Park's history. I mean that even if the vocals are awful that it's the song that Mike give to his friend Chester for saving him and i really appreciate Mike's effort . There are other good songs but BTH it's the best for his power. Without that song , it would be a really different band now....anyway, this is only my opinion :) ;)

for all the jokes about BTH, this one is really nice to hear/have. it's interesting - it says something about their songwriting/lyrical processes

for example, that the lyrics were originally more about two people than an individual:

"I don't know what we're fighting for or why we have to scream"

"I don't know what's worth fighting for or why I have to scream"

I wonder who chose to re-write that
