Got back home from the show. It was awesome. I'm glad I was there for the new setlist debut. Overall the set has some highs and lows. I'll keep saying that the shortened songs idea makes zero sense, and that crap like Joe Solo (yeah, cool effects and stuff but I'd rather have a song there) and the Castle of Glass version they play should be removed. Also, too many singles and the song election/order for the encore can be vastly improved. Other than that, I have to say that I had a lot of fun and that the band played flawlessly, except for a few mistakes by Brad and Joe. DOYS/LFY was a nice surprise. People were loud as hell from beginning to end and Chester was on fire. Man, he's from another planet.

Going to this show with the LPL guys! I can't wait. I hope the set is different but I'm not holding my breath.

I don't know if I'm the only one who thinks that from Minutes to Midnight on, all the alternative album covers of every album look better than the one LP picked as the main album cover.

Pretty bad setlist. I don't see how this is a high energy 'visceral' show. Too many singles. Shortened songs is ridiculous. Never heard of a band doing that before. Intro + joe solo + mike solo + robot boy interlude + blackout interlude crap = play instead 2 or 3 full songs. They destroyed castle of glass. They rehearsed by myself , forgotten and pushing for the download festival show, so they could for instance rotate those songs, that'd be a cool thing. They can add one or two more THP songs (aren't carnivores and hunting party basically the same idea?). I can't believe they shortened UIG. So there you go .. They can play a 22 song set with 14 singles, one or two 'rare' songs being rotated, and 6 THP songs. /endrant

Playing the same set for another entire tour is disappointing. I'll never understand the shortened songs crap or why they think that playing that awful version of Castle of Glass is better than the original song. I understand the idea of the ballad medley but they've been playing it for way too long. On a recent interview, this was Mike's response to a question about setlists: His response is really pathetic and it's sad to think that they want to play a show for 'casual' listeners. I don't know why they don't make different setlists every night, like give each a city a 'surprise' song or something like that. It's not that we're asking them to drop all the singles for b-sides but one song each night won't hurt. Having said all this, at least I'm glad I'll get to see 5 songs off of THP. Rebellion is a great jam and I'm excited to hear it live.

I don't understand their logic. Two consecutive albums saying that they are writing songs that are fun to play live and then they completely ignore half of those albums live. I'm not saying they should play the entire album every night but they could easily learn all the songs and rotate them, having GATS, UIG and Final Masquerade in every set list. Then again, they talk about how soft music is and that they want to write heavy songs but they release the two soft songs as singles, which means that from their heaviest album to date, THP, the only two songs that have a secure spot in their set lists are the soft songs ...

This song is fucking awesome. It was the song I was looking forward the most and mother of god, what a monster! It completely fulfilled my expectations. It's gonna be hard to top this song but I have faith that the rest of the songs we haven't heard are as good.

I like Wastelands. It's a great song to jam and it works in a live setting. I still think they could have worked on that bridge a little bit more, it feels like it's lacking something. I am really satisfied with that I've heard from THP. I mean, I love GATS and I consider UIG and Wastelands to be solid tracks. Besides, I am positive these songs aren't even highlights on the album. Apparently Keys to the Kingdom, Rebellion, War and A Line In the Sand are all awesome songs. This could be my favorite LP album ever.

I don't know if I'm the only one who thinks that it's ridiculous that they're playing like 16 full songs? I mean, I get it that they want to change stuff and surprise people but I'd be pissed if my favorite band played 8 or 9 incomplete songs throughout a 90 minute set. I'm fine with them using transitions, but going from a shortened ALTNC to a shortened LITE to a shortened New Divide to a shortened Crawling? WTF. I'm one of those people that want them to change their setlists every night but whenever I say that, I'm not thinking of a ton of incomplete songs.

I'm surprised the band hasn't released this song oficially yet. After the 1 minute preview and its live performance last night, I was expecting them to put it online today, kind of like what STP did with Out Of Time.

That COG version was bad. They destroyed the best song on LT. Let's hope it's just a once in a lifetime thing,

I've been watching the videos and I gotta say that the band sounded awesome. I'm so glad they decided to not add tons of layers on Chester's voice on the recording of the new songs. He nailed GAS, UIG and Wastelands. Rob also is killing it, I've always thought his drums sounds way better live than on the albums. Having a double bass pedal made that solo even more awesome. As for the setlist, the way they mixed songs was pretty badass, although I'd rather have two complete songs than 4 halfs of different songs. I can imagine if they start playing my favorite song (even though I doubt Runaway or ALTNC are anyone's favorite songs) and then they suddently stop it. I'm surprised they dropped BTH too. I can't wait to see them in August!

I don't think PMA is a good closer so I think they'll probably play the album either at the beginning of the show or in the middle of it, just like Mike suggested it. They might play like 5 songs, then have a break and play HT in full, and then close the show with 5 more songs. I think that even if they're going ''visceral'', they will still play a couple of slow songs. I don't think they'll drop BTH or Numb, and I wouldn't be surprised if they keep the ballad medley.

I pretty much agree with most of what has been said here. When I saw LP in 2010 and 2011, the interludes kind of killed the flow of the show. Apart from that, I think the ATS songs sound great live. WTCFM is probably the one I enjoy the most live. When they opened with W&K I had a blast even if it was only weeks after the album had been released. It'd be great if they keep WTCFM on the new tour. I'd also like to see WFTE since it's one my favorite songs. If they're going to keep some mid-tempo/soft songs, I hope that's the one they keep.

Download Festival is the perfect excuse to release a badass DVD, just like they did with Road to Revolution. Both are very special peformances. Live In Texas, Madrid 2010 and Berlin 2012 weren't particularly special concerts and they all got released.

It'd be pretty disappointing if it's the Concert for the Phillipines. It was a very short presentation, Chester was sick (yes, I know they fixed everything when they showed it on TV), Castle Of Glass sounded awful, etc. I wonder why they don't do making of DVDs anymore. I really enjoyed the MTM one. They should record their Download Festival presentation and put together a pretty cool documentary DVD with the concert and interviews as a celebration of their 15+ years. That'd be awesome.

I still don't know whether to preorder or not. It says that the CD that comes with the artbook + lyrics is 'exclusive packaging' so I'm assuming the version that will be in stores will be different. If that's the case, I'll get it from lp.com but I'll wait for more information.

After listening to the song several times, I think it has grown on me. I'd say I like it even if it's not the greatest thing in the world. I don't think it's better than GATS, but if this is the softest song we'll hear on the album, then I think I'll be satisfied. The song has a lot of interesting things going on, musically. I'm still not completely happy with the mix (of both UIG and GATS), especially with how the drums sound. I honestly don't care about lyrics in general. I've never understood why a lot of people care so much about the lyrics (of any song/band). If I want to read deep stuff, I guess I'd simply read poetry. As long as the words make sense, flow well and have nice melodies, that's fine with me. If LP wants to use the words "lies" and "pain" in every song from now on, I honestly don't care as long as the music is good. Oh, and the outro bit is interesting and I can't wait how it connects to Rebellion which is probably the song I'm looking forward the most.
