  1. No freakin idea how you get this stuff but thanks a lot for sharing!
  2. About time! I'm glad they posted this video. Let's hope it becomes a trend. Like someone said, I also don't get why they record so much stuff in the studio and on tour and release like 1 % of it.
  3. I didn't think they could come up with something worse than ALTNC.. I guess I was wrong. I hate to see the "Linkin Park" name attached to this. I wonder how much the others members (besides Mike and Chester) contributed to this song.
  4. Probably not a highlight but it's worth noting that Rob also said it's very unlikely that they'll ever play Carousel, but that High Voltage may have a chance of being played if enough people want it.
  5. About time he decided to do an LPU chat. Mike's and Chester's chats are the ones worth the LPU money. Now let's hope it won't be full of people asking "when are you coming to Brazil?'' or ''what inspired you to do THP?"
  6. I guess I don't feel bad for missing this show anymore. As much as I like APFMH and as much as I'd like to see FTI live, it doesn't make up for the fact that the set still has a lot of flaws. I can't believe that they're just playing 3 THP songs. I kinda miss the attitude the band had during the MTM/ATS era where they didn't give a fuck about playing new songs (70% of the album from the very beginning in the case of ATS).
  7. Can't wait for Mark's reaction to LP opening with Joe Solo / BID haha. That set is so bad I can't even.
  8. Awesome lineup! I'll try to make it to one of these festivals. I hope that the Carolina Rebellion lineup looks similar to this since that's the one I'd like to attend.
  9. Finally listened to the CD. Like many people, I didn't find anything particularly exciting except for the BTH demo which was a good surprise. It's always a good thing to listen to the stuff they come up with even if they don't make them full songs. In a lot of songs I feel like it's just Mike playing guitar over programmed drums. Anyway, I'm not going to complain this time because it's pretty cool that they still give us demos even if they're instrumentals. Let's hope they will continue doing so for a while.
  10. I feel like that might have been due to copyrights. After all, RME was written when they were Xero and Wakefield was in the band. Can't think of any other reason for dropping it.
  11. I pretty much agree with everythink Mark said. And I've said this before and I'll say it again, Mike and LP will always have an excuse to keep playing the same songs over and over again. The casual fans, the lights, the cities, the rehearsing time, the curfew, etc. In my opinion, they're just lazy musicians. It's even hard to understand them from a musician standpoint. Even if you feel you have to 'please' an audience (which doesn't make sense since they precisely decided not to satisfy an audience from MTM on ...), you still need to make it entertaining for yourself and I doubt it is entertaining to play the same songs for an entire year. None of the LP stuff is technically challenging so if they wanted, they could play pretty much anything from their catalogue without even rehearsing. If they ever do a fan voted setlist, I'm sure they won't include LPU songs/HT EP, or b-sides, but they can easily find a way to please everyone. My idea would be to have two categories. First, let fans pick two or three singles from every album to play live (18 songs). That's plenty of material to please the 'casual' fans they worry so much. Second, let fans pick a non-single song from every album (6 songs) and that'd please the hardcore fans, and those who have been with them since the beginning (and who are always ignored). No interludes, no ridiculous shortened songs. A 2 hour live show that would leave everyone satisfied.
  12. Altwire interviews Mike in Germany: http://www.altwire.net/#article/4146 He talks about their relation with Germany, meet and greets, and a couple of other topics. Oh, and for those expecting different sets during the winter US tour, well, Mike has some bad news for you.
  13. They want you to think they're playing 30 songs, but they're only playing 16 full songs. The rest is just half songs/intros/interludes. Milton Keynes was 1hr37min and their actual set is around 1hr40min so it's not so different.
  14. Great stuff! Thanks a lot
  15. Sometimes most of the time I don't understand Linkin Park's logic for the shows they pick for DVDs. I mean, Download Festival was by far the most epic/unique event on this tour cycle, yet they decide to record a random show with a setlist we've seen all year long (we have proshots of Rock in Rio, Rock am Ring, Camden, Hollywood Bowl, and Circuito do Brasil). I wonder if they'll release this as The Hunting Party+ or as a separate CD/DVD.
  16. Don't get your hopes too high. This is coming from a band that said they wanted to play ATS in full live (never happened), made Living Things an album to be played live (ended up playing only half of it), a band that came up with a "visceral" sound different from what's on the radio (and released the two ballads as singles), a ''carnivores' tour with a set full of radio friendly songs, and a long etc. Phoenix 'reason' to not play new stuff on this tour is just an excuse for laziness. None of the LP stuff is technically challenging so if they wanted, they could play pretty much anything from their catalogue without even rehearsing (but they would probably tell you they can't because they need to figure out the lights, pyro, screens, etc that go with every song, which is, for me, another excuse. I don't give a fuck if they play an entire set with no lights or 1000 LED screens on the stage as long as the songs they play are all badass. /endrant
  17. Dang it. They're playing in Nashville and I'll be out of the US in January. I wish the tour was in March. Whatever. It's cool that they're playing in places they haven't visited in a long time. I hope they add more THP songs to the set.
  18. By far the best LPTV in a while. Great to see a longer episode and more backstage stuff. I wish they had asked Daron something. I hope the next episodes are this good.
  19. That was pretty cool to watch! Great background music that MTV picked. You know you're a LP fan when you recognize every single one of those rare demos/songs haha. I know that they've said multiple times that early on some bands treated them horribly on tour but I didn't know until now that one of those bands was The Union Unfderground. Thanks for the link!
  20. Btw, Rebellion didn't have an extended intro like the show page says. They played the studio version.
  21. Seeing Daron on stage with LP made my day. What a fucking genius.
  22. I wonder what was the project that according to Chester fell apart while they were making ATS.
  23. It's the opportunity for Daron to join them and play Rebellion, but I'm not holding my breath.
  24. Exactly my thoughts. That was Brad's only serious answer.
  25. http://www.chideo.com/chideo/2023# Mike reveals that the audio they wanted to use after Keys to the Kingdom was originally a clip of a boy saying "a cold doesn't bother me anyway" (quote from the movie Frozen) but Disney didn't want them to use it as part of the album so they replaced it with a boy saying 'I'm not allowed to say certain things', in reference to the original clip.
