  1. In old interviews they've mentioned that in 2010 they were working on music for a project that ended up falling apart and I always wondered what it was... well, now we know that it was a video game.
  2. That's not good. That's my favorite thing about the LPU. I hope they can work on something.
  3. The first of the six demos that are going to be released is called TooLeGit (2010 demo) and it will be released on December 15th. LPU members can preview it right now (check your emails).
  4. Pretty cool interview. Hopefully LPL can get something like this at some point. I remember LPL ''winning'' an interview with Mike in an LPU contest a couple of years ago but I don't remember it ever happening, but oh well. I'm glad Mike addressed different topics that ''hardcore'' fans usually talk about. I can't believe he said THP is a thrash metal album though ...
  5. I'm glad that they dropped the prices and that they got rid of the VyRT thing. The t-shirt design is a bit disappointing though and I'm not so sure about the way they split the demos but as long as they keep releasing demos in a physical form I'll be happy. I'll renew in a few months.
  6. The Hundreds v LP jacket is out. In case you want to spend 120 bucks + shipping on a jacket, here's your link http://store.linkinpark.com/the-hundreds-v-lp-jacket.html
  7. I don't particularly care since I don't like STP but I can't say I'm surprised. While I'm glad Chester had the chance to be part of a band that he loved growing up, from the very beginning it seemed like it was going to be a tough job to sing in two big bands. Basically, the only way to make it work is by doing what, for example, Corey Taylor does. When Slipknot is recording/touring, Stone Sour is completely on hold and vice versa.vIt just didn't seem like LP was going to stop at any point considering they've been in such a non-stop creative mood since 2010. After all, like Weiland put it with different words, LP is what allows Chester to pay the bills. Now let's hope he will put all that creative energy into LP7.
  8. Crossing my fingers so that this is not LP7 related but instead just another stand alone crappy EDM track like the Aoki ones, a remix or a FM collaboration.
  9. Sorry LP, but no matter how good the designs are, I'll never pay $115 for a t-shirt. That's ridiculous.
  10. I have to agree with Astat. While the song is not bad overall and it's catchy, I don't like the fact that he's trying to sound/rap like someone else instead of himself. He has a very distinctive way of rapping that we all like and all of the sudden he tries to sound gangsta. I don't mind if he releases more stuff as long as that doesn't delay a new LP album.
  11. They are indeed trying to show everything they've done musically, but you can't deny that their actual setlist has some flaws. After such a great high energy first part of the set, you get like 25 minutes (from Castle of Dance to Mike's solo) in which you keep asking "What the fuck is going on?" You said we could be getting setlists of only singles, well .. that's what we basically get except for ALITS and Wastelands. I've said before that I don't expect them to play Part Of Me or No Roads Left every night but they can actually make the set a lot better by replacing some songs. Hell, they could even add some singles that they don't play. Final Masquerade instead of the ballad medley, Lost in the Echo instead of Mike's solo, The Catalyst instead of the Robot Boy+Joe solo crap and play a song for the 'fans' like APFMH or No More Sorrow instead of that irrelevant Runaway transition.
  12. LP and logic are two words that should never be together. Anyway, the show was alright mainly because of ALITS. It was a pretty solid performance for a debut even if I felt Rob was a little 'off'. It's such a pity that they decided to keep the rest of the set untouched for this new tour (I honestly don't expect any surprises for the rest of the dates) because there are so many things that simply don't work. Glad to see Chester back and sounding good for the most part.
  13. Great to see ALITS making its live debut! Hopefully the live version will do justice to how amazing that song is. The rest of the set is laughable. The portion of the set starting with Runaway and finishing with Numb/Encore has to be the worst series of songs in a set I've seen on any band ever.
  14. No freakin idea how you get this stuff but thanks a lot for sharing!
  15. About time! I'm glad they posted this video. Let's hope it becomes a trend. Like someone said, I also don't get why they record so much stuff in the studio and on tour and release like 1 % of it.
  16. I didn't think they could come up with something worse than ALTNC.. I guess I was wrong. I hate to see the "Linkin Park" name attached to this. I wonder how much the others members (besides Mike and Chester) contributed to this song.
  17. Probably not a highlight but it's worth noting that Rob also said it's very unlikely that they'll ever play Carousel, but that High Voltage may have a chance of being played if enough people want it.
  18. About time he decided to do an LPU chat. Mike's and Chester's chats are the ones worth the LPU money. Now let's hope it won't be full of people asking "when are you coming to Brazil?'' or ''what inspired you to do THP?"
  19. I guess I don't feel bad for missing this show anymore. As much as I like APFMH and as much as I'd like to see FTI live, it doesn't make up for the fact that the set still has a lot of flaws. I can't believe that they're just playing 3 THP songs. I kinda miss the attitude the band had during the MTM/ATS era where they didn't give a fuck about playing new songs (70% of the album from the very beginning in the case of ATS).
  20. Can't wait for Mark's reaction to LP opening with Joe Solo / BID haha. That set is so bad I can't even.
  21. Awesome lineup! I'll try to make it to one of these festivals. I hope that the Carolina Rebellion lineup looks similar to this since that's the one I'd like to attend.
  22. Finally listened to the CD. Like many people, I didn't find anything particularly exciting except for the BTH demo which was a good surprise. It's always a good thing to listen to the stuff they come up with even if they don't make them full songs. In a lot of songs I feel like it's just Mike playing guitar over programmed drums. Anyway, I'm not going to complain this time because it's pretty cool that they still give us demos even if they're instrumentals. Let's hope they will continue doing so for a while.
  23. I feel like that might have been due to copyrights. After all, RME was written when they were Xero and Wakefield was in the band. Can't think of any other reason for dropping it.
  24. I pretty much agree with everythink Mark said. And I've said this before and I'll say it again, Mike and LP will always have an excuse to keep playing the same songs over and over again. The casual fans, the lights, the cities, the rehearsing time, the curfew, etc. In my opinion, they're just lazy musicians. It's even hard to understand them from a musician standpoint. Even if you feel you have to 'please' an audience (which doesn't make sense since they precisely decided not to satisfy an audience from MTM on ...), you still need to make it entertaining for yourself and I doubt it is entertaining to play the same songs for an entire year. None of the LP stuff is technically challenging so if they wanted, they could play pretty much anything from their catalogue without even rehearsing. If they ever do a fan voted setlist, I'm sure they won't include LPU songs/HT EP, or b-sides, but they can easily find a way to please everyone. My idea would be to have two categories. First, let fans pick two or three singles from every album to play live (18 songs). That's plenty of material to please the 'casual' fans they worry so much. Second, let fans pick a non-single song from every album (6 songs) and that'd please the hardcore fans, and those who have been with them since the beginning (and who are always ignored). No interludes, no ridiculous shortened songs. A 2 hour live show that would leave everyone satisfied.
  25. Altwire interviews Mike in Germany: http://www.altwire.net/#article/4146 He talks about their relation with Germany, meet and greets, and a couple of other topics. Oh, and for those expecting different sets during the winter US tour, well, Mike has some bad news for you.
