For the time being, until maybe the new album is released: 1. "Lying From You" - I like the energy in the song. Also, when I started getting into the song, I was dealing with a bad relationship, and there was so much angst to deal with. 2. "What I've Done" - another one of those songs that spoke to me about letting things in my past go. 3. "One Step Closer" - another song where the energy is awesome. Plus, who else wants to say, "Shut up when I'm talking to you!" on some occasions?

Linkin Park Song Election - Meteora

The pictures look sharp.

Okay...let's see how the rest of the thread unfolds. I just see it going down the same road as the one about the artwork, where there was a lot of bitching because the aesthetics and style didn't line up with someone's preconceived ideas. People seem to think, or have thought, that with the tracklist of 15 songs/tracks, that it's going to be pretty long, like over an hour or something...some rap and r&b CDs have that many tracks, more, but don't come close to the limit of what a CD can hold. I just hope for those that do go off the deep end, give the thing a listen first when it comes out.
-
First, people flipped about the artwork...now, some are flipping out on the length. Let's give the album a listen to before a full condemnation, please.

I'll be sure to check it out, now that I have some free time. I think part of the problem is that each person has created their own stuff/remix for the song. They put in their energy, creativity, etc. Then someone comes along who doesn't like it, and tears down what they've spent a lot of time on. A lot of what's said is potentially because one person sees the superiority of the other person's work, so they try to tear it down...at least that's what I've gathered in reading the last few pages, without taking a listen to anyone's work. It's unfortunate, but not surprising, with folks' posting their remixes. My one concern, especially with those posting the mp3's, is that one person could jack someone else's work and claim it as their own. Call me pessimistic, but in my line of work, plagiarism is a big issue. I'm by no means saying that anyone has done it here, as I haven't had any time to listen to anyone's submission. I don't have a dog in this fight. My only advice is that everyone a) grow up, and b ) take some criticism; don't take it personally...do what you want with it; improve whatever is criticized or ignore.

A Thousand Suns - First Physical Release Details
auburntiger replied to Nameless's topic in Newswire
The $21.98 is probably the manufacturer's suggested retail price. Once you get closer to the release date of the new album, you should see that discounted. -
More: No puzzles or hidden messages with this one. We’re excited to finally announce that our new album, A THOUSAND SUNS, will be released on September 14th. The lead single for the album is called “The Catalyst.” It will be released on August 2nd. Beginning tomorrow, July 9th, we’re teaming up with MySpace and MixParade for “Linkin Park, Featuring You,” a contest which gives you the one-of-a-kind opportunity to be on our new album. We'll be giving you some audio from “The Catalyst,” and you get to take it from there; you can remix the parts, write something over them, or mute stuff and write something totally new. We may choose a remix of the song, and put it on the album…or, we may choose an amazing keyboardist, string quartet, guitarist, percussion group, or other musician, and invite them into the studio to play on one of our songs. No matter what instrument you play, you can win. We're open to anything good. All we ask is that you include any audible portion of any one of our stems in your submission. Once you submit, the community (that's you) will vote, and the most popular stuff will rise to the top. Then, my bandmates and I will comb through the submissions, choose one winner, and they will be included on our album, A THOUSAND SUNS. Check out http://www.myspace.com/linkinpark for contest details. I think I've said enough for now. Thanks for your continued support. We’ve got more announcements coming, so keep checking LinkinPark.com for updates. -m Source

organizing the facts is holding up the announcement on the new album
-
Well, look at it this way - by the end of the day you guys will be on the same page as Adam, with regards to what the announcement is about.
-
I'll reserve final judgment for the full track; based on the snippet, though, I'm not really feeling this...
-
My only guess is that the album might be released Oct./Nov...they played shows prior to MtM's release, then after it. I'd guess a similar pattern, but that's all I got.
-
Some good work there...
-
There are a few interesting bits... I do find the stuff interesting about whatever they're working on to be more challenging in performing them live.

How do you play in offline mode? I have to log in, and if it can't be verified, I can't play.

Someone mentioned playing in an off-line mode elsewhere. How do you do that? -
Wow. You get to kill dogs? This game will be a hit with Michael Vick...yes I just went there.

Got it; thanks for the heads-up on searching.

8BR Event in Los Angeles for LPU Members- 4/23/10
auburntiger replied to auburntiger's topic in Newswire
Meh, it's only 3 days from that point to the game's release, so no biggie. I would like to know if there's a particular release time (i.e., can I DL it that morning and take it with me to campus, or if I have to wait out most of the day to get it). -
From the LPU: We're looking for a few LPU members to test Linkin Park’s new video game, 8-BIT REBELLION before it's released to the public. We will be hosting an intimate, exclusive event on Friday, April 23rd in Santa Monica, CA for LPU members to play the game. JK Giveaway to celebrate the new JK Forum at LPL
auburntiger replied to SpikeMinoda's topic in Julien-K
Awesome; count me in. -
How about making fun of said poster's mom? It's just as juvenile, but twice the fun...especially seeing others get mad about it. j/k

No sharing of DSPs on the LPL site. If you're asking strictly about the NZ/AUS shows I recommend Auckland night 1 and Sydney night 1
