  1. If I happen to see this, is it worth picking up, for the DVD? I bought the regular version back in late '03-early '04 as a casual fan of the music.
  2. I don't really have a problem with DBS. The only problem that exists is the lack of promotion for DBS, as others have alluded to. I've watched several college football and NFL games on ESPN. They have played "Fire" and CBI, but don't give credit to where they got it. If this were just for funsies, why not then have just released the music for free or something?
  3. I was googling some tracks from the live shows in '07, as well as the '08 Winter European Tour. Kept coming back because interesting things were being posted, news-wise.
  4. I think I'd have a similar reaction if/when some version of BTH isn't on an LPU CD.
  5. This was reported last week; iTunes has started up a live music section. Could this be a new outlet for LP's DSPs? Or maybe LP selling the older shows? A partial set of Pearl Jam's '06 concert tour is also featured in the new live section. Source here. Pretty interesting.
  6. The CD is solid. After LPU8, really, no one should be complaining about the content. As with the others, ATL is the best track on there. The instrumentals are great, and the alternate versions of songs are cool. I haven't been able to give the songs much of a listen yet to give more of an in-depth opinion; these are first glances.
  7. Not too sure about NRL; maybe they didn't want to get too preachy about social issues with ATL, since it's there's a good mention of them in the latter half of MTM.
  8. ATL reminds me of "Youth of a Nation" by P.O.D., lyrically/message-wise. Still, pretty good.
  9. I agree; I felt this way after actually hearing TLTGYA, after it got so hyped up by the band in interviews.
  10. Post of the year.
  11. Hey - that's a pretty good deal...provided you cover air fare to a show in Europe.
  12. What's the actual date that LPU 9 is supposed to be available? Sorry if it's been asked before; I tried searching the forums.
  13. Their music is getting a little love on ESPN. The vocals aren't included, but I've heard a couple of instances of DBS used on ESPN over the last couple of days. NFL Countdown yesterday had a piece about what the Lions and Rams' problems, and you could hear an instrumental version of CBI in the background. Tonight when they went to a commercial during the ATL/NO game, you could hear an instrumental snippet of Fire played in the background.
  14. I was interested in LP from the fact that "Papercut" was played for some players' intros for the baseball games I went to. I didn't really and truly get into LP, though, until Meteora. HT is a solid album, though. It's one of a handful I could leave on repeat for a few hours. That's what normally makes a good album for me, imho. Best song on the CD at the beginning: "Papercut." Presently: "A Place for My Head." "Points" still rates highly.
  15. It reads as if CB is being typecast for his work with LP. Rather sad, at that. I read about LP being "hip hop" on the NYT article. WTF?
  16. No; thank you, sir, for the update..
  17. Yeah, I wonder if the new album will have some political motifs to it. That was cool in MtM, IMHO.
  18. Here's a handy web site: http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc
  19. Having a "stripped down" version of 4.0 for mobile devices would be cool.
  20. No worries; at least we have something to listen to. I guess those boys haven't hit puberty yet.
  21. Thanks for the recording; it's good. I'm torn; on the one hand, I like the girl's enthusiasm I hear in the background, but I wish she would be quiet at some points.
  22. Well said. I seriously doubt fans going to the concert are going to be disappointed by a redundant setlist.
  23. For all you guys who is been attending this tour, according to downloads.linkinpark.com: Due to the intense travel schedule on the tour, the downloads will not be available until 30-45 days after the conclusion of the tour (8/17/09) How sad, that's too much time... sorry guys.
  24. the track is tight... I can see this as something akin to "Announcement Service Public" or "Wake" - a lead-in for the CD.
  25. For those wondering about an on-line purchase, here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...&id=1927799 Additionally, if you don't feel like waiting around until Friday, you may want to meander out to Best Buy. I picked up my copy of Road to Revolution today, and saw that this particular store (Farragut, TN) had already put the "Songs" CDs out.
