This article contradicts itself with the "Linkin Park returning to their roots" and then it goes to Mike talking about how it's going to be completely different than anything they have done before. It's not really returning to their roots if they are making a whole new approach with themselves and the music. If the music is good though, that's all that matters to me.

Minutes to Midnight was considered "epic"? Ew.

Didn't really have hopes for Rubin again...but if he accomplished what they wanted then all power to them. He's a great producer but I don't think he was right for Linkin Park.
-
Wouldn't have been so bad if he didn't make 10 invites for 1 event. Oh well, guess you have to promote somehow. It was him that provided the Mike earpiece, right?

JoshW was the bomb..still is. He's running a music venue and sells custom t-shirts now.

I never heard that. Every source I find still lists Chester under the credits on the song. I hope that's not the case because we've been waiting for this for years (lol). Also, it makes more sense for it to be released soon because Korn is currently not signed to a label. Around the time it was supposed to be released, a bunch of crap hit the fan and I know they were touring a whole lot alongside making new records. At the current time, they don't have these strict contracts and albums to push. Last I heard, Ross Robinson is in the process of mixing both albums at the moment - once again though, couldn't find a credible source on that.

Since around 2005 or so I believe. I think the chances of getting it are higher than ever right now (as in 2010).

Hey, just letting you guys know that Fieldy (bassist) from Korn stated that they "plan" on releasing their cover album, Korn Kovers, along with their next studio album next year. I'm sure a lot of you know already that Head Like A Hole (Featuring Chester Bennington) is on that album. Some members from Korn already stated that the new studio album should be out early next year and Fieldy claimed that the cover album would "hopefully" be dropped around the same time. One thing that could cause a problem is that David Silveria (ex-drummer) and Brian Welch (ex-guitarist) played on most of the tracks on the cover album, so they may not be able to release it until they figure out the royalties to be paid and all that fancy stuff. The only source at the moment is from the Modlife chat from their premium membership on the official Korn website. Another thing regarding their website is that they have "Digital EP's" they release to premium members occasionally, so it could be released that way too. It's just kinda speculation right now since there are no huge news captions picking up on this but it's good to hear that it may be seeing the light pretty soon. The album IS real, it just wasn't released because of the other members quitting around that time. Here is a source (seems credible) from this year where Fieldy confirmed they were still working on it at least: http://www.iconvsicon.com/2009/04/27/korn-...-releases-book/

I think you provide enough answers for everything as it is. lol

Fact: I used to help provide news on your old website (Cure for the Itch). Then you started LPLive and I got buried in the dirt with the claimed "Meteora demos in Joe's backyard". Fiction: I found LPLive advertised on the back of LP's tour bus in Oklahoma City. Conclusion: Shit happens, enjoy the media.

It's a conspiracy.

I agree with you. It seems like they didn't pour their full heart and soul into it and were more focused on selling a record...which they accomplished. They pulled in a huge fan base because of MTM. In Pieces reminded me of some old school Incubus and TLTGYA was very well constructed. The rest as you said were pretty radio friendly which isn't a bad thing for a band but some people like us who like "unique" are going to be quite disappointed.

Korn has more albums than Muse does, you're wrong about them not having a headlining spot (Memphis in May, Rock Day, Mayhem Festival, Sunset Strip Music Festival, Rockfest and rumors of Download Festival next year), and it's foolish for you to say that Family Values wasn't that big. You could probably compare Family Values to Projekt Revolution. Once again, you can't claim a band is less popular (as in declining popularity) simply because another band is MORE popular. It's false information. If a band "sucked" and was stuck playing small venues....they wouldn't be headlining festivals. lol EDIT: My whole point to begin with was that Linkin Park didn't have control over what they are playing because a record label was telling them what to do...which in turn, Adam corrected me as he works in the industry himself. Also, I know what you're saying about them not having the popularity they once had but I actually think the exact opposite. They had a small following at one point - they didn't have these songs that appealed to the ears of the mass audience. Now look at Coming Undone and Twisted Transistor - wouldn't you say those are more community friendly than songs such as Freak on a Leash and Thoughtless?

Unless he was referring to the entire LPU9 CD and saying "new song". There was a handful on there that were purely collector items and not really "songworthy". I'm sure I will enjoy whatever it's going to be.
-
Kinda hard to tell because of the fact that it's a "prize". I'm sure it will have it's catches.
-
Didn't consider that. That's definitely a possibility. Oh well, we'll hear it eventually.

All you have to do is "open" the file that contains the information stored in the actual application. I don't have an iphone so I'm not sure how to do it on there. For example though, there are numerous PC games that have MPQ files which you can crack open with a specific program and pull out every single sound file that was put into it.
-
Not sure where you pulled this information from but they play large festivals all the time. They did an entire tour catered to smaller venues because they WANTED to, not because they had to. Just because a band hasn't sold the same amount of records as LP doesn't mean they aren't huge. I didn't see Muse on that "top sold albums" list and they still put on a kickass show. Also, they DID change their music style. Look at their last two albums compared to Life is Peachy and their Self-Titled album. I'm sure part of that had to do with the fact that they lost a guitarist and a drummer during that time but they by no means are "less popular".
-
Hell yes, now we're talking...Universal..damn. That's a pretty nice job to get.
-
No he was actually saying that Bob Dylan was in his band, before Bob Dylan was huge and my teacher claimed to have kicked Bob Dylan out of his band because he "sucked" and then later felt like an idiot. Just sounds like a stretched story to me. Missouri State University is where I am starting up, I just finished at Ozark Tech' which was a community college. So the professors there most likely weren't highly educated on what they were teaching..it just wasn't til now that I realized it. lol
-
Oh yeah man, I'm definitely learning the ins and outs of all sorts of things but I'm beginning to think my professors are just kinda winging it with some of the things they say. I have one who claims that he was in a band with Bob Dylan before he got huge, and they thought his vocals sucked and kicked him out. Just seems a little stretched but anything is possible I guess.

No problem dude. Welcome to LPLive where you will find much fun and debate combined.
-
Yeah dude..tonight was an eye opening thing for me..I didn't like debating with everyone but I'm glad you spoke on it because I wasn't convinced at all based on what my professors were telling me. Now that I look at it, it's a big difference studying papers and becoming a teacher - compared to working in the actual field and knowing what the heck you are teaching. Quite sad but oh well, at least I will get a degree of some sort. lol

No, it was marked private. I made it for my own purposes to keep. No one saw it but me..but I know why they flagged it. It makes sense, but just saying they have ownership over it. Regarding your work, I don't know what to say. If it's true what you are saying, then I feel as if I am wasting lots of money in these college courses I am taking. It's not going to be the first time though, that's what colleges do I guess. I prefer words from someone in the industry over someone that just took a class and assumes they know what they are doing..so thanks for clearing that up man.
