Translation: Fresh band: Bust some ass and get some fans. Pro band: Get yo moneyz. They cared more about their sound then. Now they don't have to, they are making thousands. Just an observation I have made since 2001.

Thank you so much! O.O I had all these years (YEARS!!) ago...lost them all on a hard drive crash and could never find them again. Here they are. I love them all.

    Inside Of Me!

I'm talking about when Anthrax and Public Enemy collaborated and made a song. That was considered the birth of nu-metal because people really liked the combination. Edit: That's also debatable because Aerosmith did the "Walk This Way" collaboration with Run DMC.

Nu-metal is rap and rock. It's more defined that it's rap and rock "influences" combined. This is why Korn was considered nu-metal because of the hip-hop style drumbeats combined with the heavy guitar. Public Enemy and Anthrax are considered to be the forefathers of nu-metal.

    Inside Of Me!

Well no I mean, it sounds "good" but I personally am not a big fan of the recording techniques of todays music. I miss the 90's (early 2000's) when everything was raw. It doesn't suck, it's just not my personal favorite touch.

His pitch changes are far too dramatic (because of autotune). I like a more raw sound myself.

    Inside Of Me!

Too "poppy" for me. Too much obvious auto-tuning as well. I really like the other songs so far though. This will be a very unique album.
  8. Interesting indeed.
  9. Without using auto-tune preferably.
  10. This is not 100% credible, but it's the only thing I found...said he passed away from a car accident complication. =/ 37 is still pretty young...R.I.P. Roc Raida
  11. Eh, it's not like we aren't familiar with "overproduced" anyways. We ARE Linkin Park fans after all.
  12. Very famous! And considering Tool isn't really put in the spotlight that much as far as their concerts go (because they choose that way usually), this should be a pretty huge thing for them. It's going to be an awesome show...sucks that I can't go.
  13. Oh yeah, I agree with you on that 100%. I am simply complaining because I remember starting a website up with a friend and had it placed on FTG's Wall of Shame simply because we had huge pictures on every page that you clicked on. The only content that we had on the site was bloopers and stuff during previous LP shows, something to add a little twist to the usual LP media people were getting. FTG took it a little overboard in my opinion but I guess I forgot about bazinga! and similar sites causing major chaos around that time (they still do). Forgive and forget I suppose.
  14. I think it went downhill with their "Wall of Shame" section that targeted any website that tried to be successful....
  15. There are two issues at hand here with the griping fans. #1: "The same setlist? Lame..." #2: "I'm not downloading the DSP! Grr!" For #1, setlist posting has pretty much been in existence since the internet. However, it didn't become a huge thing until this decade. All of that information doesn't matter though. You are complaining about something you technically weren't "supposed" to know about to begin with. You can't get mad at the band...you brought it on yourself for finding out what they were playing. Big deal. For #2, are you implying that you aren't downloading something that you "paid" for out of spite because of Linkin Park not playing a song of your choice? Well...have fun with that. I think the real reason is that you aren't going to pay for it, and will be downloading it free anyways...and surprise? You want to complain about something you will be getting for free. What a shocker! Take into consideration what YOU bring onto yourself. It's not always the bands fault. (Even when we think it is..it's usually Warner Bros. )
  16. I still listen to what I listened to when I was growing up. That's what most people listen to. They listen to what they grew up with. I don't see how you call a genre of music "immature". Nu-metal was hip hop and rock influences combined...which I myself still have a very strong liking for. I don't care what Linkin Park says....screaming "PUT ME OUT OF MY FUCKING MISERY" is no different than saying "SHUT UP!" 10 times. If they wanted to change, fine. Calling a genre of music "immature" just MAKES them immature.
  17. Yes, I'm serious. Hence why I said "Papercut outro that night". They didn't play Points of Authority. >Thanks though< for being Mr. Correction when it was not needed. ANYWAYS Place for my Head (KROQ 2003) is FTW also: To Xero21: I'm not dissing the band at all...well I guess I am, but in all honesty - ALL bands sell out. They smell and touch money and they want more so they get it. This doesn't mean that they abuse it. Linkin Park has done wonderful things, including Music for Relief. You can't honestly think the band has the right to say "Well, we really didn't want our music to be this way, we just wanted more money." They will tell everyone that they wanted to "change musically." lol It's just obvious, just like any other band that completely changes their sound to appeal to a larger audience. There is nothing wrong with it (for them), they haven't suffered obviously. They are a huge band! However, those of us who liked their hybrid sound in the early 00's are unhappy with what we hear now. It's no disrespect to the actual band. As far as their fans go, yes. Their fan base has always been huge but the comparison was the crowd of today compared to their early career. If they kept playing the same style of music, they wouldn't progressively gain more fans, thus they have changed their style of music to appeal to a larger audience. People just don't like the term "selling out" as it sounds negative. Saying you actually like every single song they have ever made is a LIE, because I know that everyone has been pissed about at least one song they have written and recorded. Am I still excited to hear what their next album will sound like? Hell yes.
  18. They will definitely put on some good shows. They haven't let us down before....have they? lol
  19. He didn't say that. More like "best live act in the world". Source: http://www.nme.com/news/linkin-park/45562
  20. It's called selling out and making ballads to appeal to a large audience. Your point? Anyways, to contribute to the thread. There They Go over the Papercut outro that night:
  21. I'm fairly convinced that if you were able to obtain a soundboard recording of Dead by Sunrise, you would be unhappy with the entire show because of one minor flaw in Chester's singing. You're never happy with anything.
  22. If you don't like it, don't read it. Some people actually care when people pass away that were important to them.
  23. Tool is far more talented and complex than Linkin Park. They were out before Linkin Park even thought about forming. Just because one band can swoon a bunch of teenage girls, it doesn't make them "better".
  24. -sniffs- I smell a tiny hint of a party pooper.
  25. That's the same thing I was saying. It was okay for maybe a couple people...but seeing like 4-5 winners here saying that they can't make it? Pretty stupid if you ask me. I live in Missouri so...you guys can stop accusing me of being a "whiner". I had no way of going to begin with, just pointing out the obvious here lol. Don't sign up for something if you can't use it effectively because someone who really wants to use it will get screwed over.
