  1. I hope so. Even though Out Of Ashes suffered from it's mixing quality and the amount of filler material it was definitely a very solid and promising debut album. It must be noted, that even the most lyrically generic song on the record is still full of focused thoughts. Too bad those thoughts are not that easily accessible for the listener who is totally unaware of Chester's own explanation about the song meaning. You can't even call it generic anymore when you found out what's this song about and you are like "Whoa! That's surprisingly makes a lot of sense" The last tracks on the record are probably the best songs Chester ever wrote. The worst songs on the record are the ones that were written during the very last stages of the recording process, when Chester was obviously rushed to release the album as soon as possible. All in all, I prefer OOA over any of the even more generic first two Linkin Park albums. I just hope that the next time Chester will be much more focused and will have much more spare time without any LP-related deadline distractions.
  2. I'm not sure if it was already posted, so I'll just throw it out here, in the Got News section, so it won't be totally lost in the shuffle. http://www.noisecreep.com/2010/09/20/linki...noda-interview/ Excerpt: As far as another song, I'd say 'Waiting for the End' is one of the songs that stands out to a lot of people on the record, because people who are fans of our band haven't heard a song that mixes these kinds of emotions and these kinds of lyrics. One minute it's blazing loud, and the next minute it's super dark and quiet and even a weird mix of hopeful and fearful. And to me, it's a very three-dimensional song, and I think it became that kind of a song because of the insane writing experience on it. It started off with the drums and the rapping, and then some of the music came along, but it was really a boring track. It was good, but it wasn't great yet, and we always felt like it had the potential to be great. And I was working with Chester in the studio, and we were trying to think of some words to sing over it and he always records vocal ideas on his phone. And he happened to go through his phone and pick through vocal ideas, and he sang 'Waiting for the End to Come,' and we both just loved how it sounded over the music. So we basically put that into place and wrote all the rest of the music around that. It was a trip.
  3. It's always great to hear Chester answering some smart questions. I like the meaning behind The Messenger.

  6. I'll quote my own post:
  7. I think it's pretty obvious that he pretends to sing through a vocal filter, but it's actually just a recording.Mark pointed it out not because he sounds like a girl, but because it's totally identical to the studio recording. We could be wrong, of course. Need to A-B this live version and the studio version to be completely sure.
  8. Well, I guess this statement means that Mike is clearly not the one who wrote "In Pieces".
  9. Fixed
  10. It's on the Deluxe version of the album, along with some other bonus track and DVD.
  11. Robot Boy by far.
  12. The entire Santana's cover album "Guitar Heaven" is available for streaming on Santana's amazon.com page. Check out his cover of "Riders On The Storm" with Chester and Ray Manzarek of The Doors here
  13. As I said before, it's my favorite LP track to date.
  14. But still not enough to make me a fan of this band.
  15. Good. Probably the best Linkin Park album to date. I love The Requiem and Robot Boy. Robot Boy is the best LP song, in my opinion.
  16. On a side note, Robot Boy strongly reminded me of this song: http://www.amazon.de/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?__mk...amp;x=0&y=0 They are kinda on the same vein and the background sounds are similar.
  17. I like The Requiem, Robot Boy and Waiting For The End clips the most so far. Hope the full songs will live up to my expectations.
  18. Chester is a godfather of Cornell's son. Scott is Chester's biggest idol since Chester was a teenager. They performed together on the Family Values Tour. Chester performed Velvet Revolver song on the Camp Freddy show. Also, it almost feels like someone mixed up the song choices. Chester performed "Whole Lotta Love" a lot with Camp Freddy and nailed it. Scott Stapp (his track will be on the Deluxe version of the album) performed "Riders On The Storm" with The Doors on VH1 Storytellers. Scott Weiland performed a few other The Doors songs at the same show as well.
  19. Amazon.de just posted 30-sec clips of the Santana's upcoming cover album called "Guitar Heaven: The Greatest Guitar Classics Of All Time". Chester and The Doors' Ray Manzarek appeared on Santana's cover of "Riders On The Storm" (originally by The Doors). Check out the clips here

  23. The Catalyst made me appreciate DBS even more. Favorite tracks: End of the World Walking In Circles In the Darkness
  24. I'll just quote my own post from some other thread. The only things I really like are Chester's vocals and the deepness of lyrics.
  25. Meh....Someone should honestly say Mike that his singing is not good at all. He always seemed to realize the fact that he is not a singer. Since what he is so self confident that he's putting his "vocals" all over the tracks? The dancy part is nice from the melody standpoint, but it sounds a bit toyish.
