  1. lets just say in 20 years they will (if don't pull a magnum opus out of the hat) be nothing but a memory. I hope that's not the case though
  2. i for one dont want another frat party type of DVD. The only reason that dvd worked was because it was a mixture of live/tour and FUN. They are old and 'mature' now and i just dont think they can pull off the spontaneous fun and laughter they used to do.
  3. yeah complaining is rather futile and useless, but some people are just frustrated that they have to see the same show every time they go. LP had gone gone a bit too deep into the mainstream IMO. A lot of BIG bands mix up their setlists and give fans some good songs that they want. Now for festivals and concerts like those i don't mind a generic setlist that much, but when it comes to smaller events and specials events where mostly hardcore fans attend it just baffles me how they still spit out the same singles junk setlist. Just play those songs ONCE at some event where they shoot a proshot. Is that really so much to ask? Apparently it is...
  4. yeah i get that, but if we blindly go with the current setlists we will give them the idea that we enjoy the same songs at every show. I mean complaining git APFMH played again.
  5. i'm sorry but just like tax payers, whom finance a country, have the right the complain when things are not as they want. We the fans who basically finance LP have the right to complain when they for no good reason give us the same stuff over and over and over again. I am against album complaints because they should do what they want, but when it comes to live shows the FANS whom pay and show up should get what they want. Even if it is just one or two songs.Hardcore fans is what every band needs to get mainstream attention, without us they would still be an internet band, so giving something small like an old song or two should be no problem for them. Why it is is beyond me....
  6. personally i believe LP owes it to the fans to play some of the hardcore fan favourite songs. $500 is a lot and i know it's for a good cause, but that's even a better reason to reward fans for getting involved. I know they wont play any old non singles and it will most probably a kick ass show because of the size just my opinion...
  7. haha newbie, its linkin park we are talking about.
  8. i get the whole "most of the people in the crowd are casual mainstream listeners", but trust me it would not hurt anyone if they included just ONE good old song like With You. It will actually make the show 10x better since the die hard fans will explode and trigger a great crowd re-action in he pit. And from experience i know that most of the hardcore fans are satisfied with very little value added thus even one song will make a world of difference. It is actually in LPs best interest to include such a song in every playlist.
  9. if the problem is that he cannot scream/not good enough to sing those hard songs then let him say so. Don't hind behind lame excuses.
  10. was about to post this exact post.well said
  11. "singles and new album" is the LP motto
  12. fact still remains, no real info was given on any future events/projects. Chester seems like a good oak reading that, but i do hate this stage of the album making. They don't want to give anything away and we sit for months without any real news
  13. well with the ATS sales it seems that FM is close'ish... i would love another FM, thoroughly enjoyed TRT.
  14. same old same old, mostly expected questions with predictable answers.
  15. i really never cared for DBS, the album was very average IMO and maybe deserved more sales than it got, but due to TERRIBLE marketing it went by unnoticed. FM on the other hand was awesome and i won't mind another one, it was popular because of how well mike promoted it.
  16. i agree that having an open minded and music genius as a producer is a good idea if he lets a band do their own thing and help them make the music they want. It just worries me that if it is indeed true that LP is making the music they want, that it's rather bland and boring. Sure ATS has some great moments, but overall it made me think of another (above average it must be said) mainstream pop/rock album lacking any real creativity and originality.
  17. and let be clear don't mistake 'mature topic' with 'mature lyrics' a song can be about a very interesting and deep topic, but the lyrics can still be bad/not very good some of the newer LP songs are like that IMO
  18. agreed in a way, since my december and she couldn't are my all time favorite LP songs it's weird, but their recent ballads seems so empty. I kinda pity the crowds at shows when they start with the ballads because they are so boring live. Different strokes for different oaks though. My december is awesome live and very enjoyable for a slower song though.
  19. i really enjoyed them when they didn't swear... chester did address this back in MTM saying something like "sometimes you have to curse to express yourself" something like that. I stopped swearing a while ago and it's rather liberating, it forces you to be creative when you want to get some emotion out without a blatant f-bomb. IMO it's the same with music, sure its easy to drop a few swear words in your song to make it sound full of anger and emotion, but most of the time it's shallow and meaningless. Without the swearing you have to actually think and be creative with what you write to get that boiling emotion across. MY opinion. *edit* and i'm not saying they were word smith geniuses back in the day
  20. not enjoying the touring as much as they used to. Solution? Make more albums. Good one imo.
  21. 2012 to early 2013. Lets not kid ourselves and think it might be sooner They have a knack of always wanting to do a bit more pushing back the release date
  22. lets not have sour grapes over something so trivial
