We will see if that really works. Mike and Chester both said Linkin Park has wanted to do that since at least 2008 and that's never happened except for New Divide. They wanted to write a few songs, put out an EP, tour, write a few more, another EP, etc. That hasn't happened.

Reading My Eyes hasn't been played in the USA since they were Xero as far as I know. At least not one time as Linkin Park. Great place to play it. Really sucks only Japan and Europe got it in 2006 and 2008.

What do you think the possibility is that the band will release new music this year? I can't believe it hasn't even been a year yet since LIVING THINGS came out. The band has had a lot of downtime since the record has been released compared to other albums, where they seemed to have played a lot more concerts. Linkin Park has been working on music (the soundtrack + score, apparently) for The Mall since at least September 2012. The soundtrack will be produced by Rob Cavallo and Bill Boyd. The Mall was announced in May 2011, over two years ago. Additionally, the band has been working on a new album. We have heard basically nothing about The Mall....and you'd even have to search a good bit before you found out that the music is even being worked on by the band. I'm sure they didn't just work on The Mall ONLY from September to now and they are now just starting a new album - they've probably worked on the two interchangeably. I've heard that the August shows are a one-off tour and they will be returning to the studio afterward. My question is - will we get some new Linkin Park music this year? Either The Mall music or a new album. Or something else. What do you think?

My opinion is that if any member leaves except Mike you can still call it Linkin Park. If Chester leaves, it's still Linkin Park. However, if Mike leaves, you need to change the name. Linkin Park is essentially his band in a way....he creates the core of the music, he co produces the albums, he is the one who has trouble sleeping because he's always holed up in the studio, etc.

I don't think they went back into the studio and re-recorded stuff. I think the mix just has the guitars cranked way up.

Finally I can give confirmation that something is being done about this. LP management is aware of it, the band is aware of it and steps are being taken to make it happen. I have no specifics at all but I have been told the wheel is moving in the right direction for this to happen. Good job on spreading the word everyone

This is really interesting. You can hear samples of other stuff in them, for example Kingdom (3:29) has a sample I've heard before from an LPU track. I think it's from Coal. Anyone else have any other finds? Heretic sounds kind of familiar too...maybe it's similar to one of Mike's VMA score tracks. Some of them are heavy as fuck, wow.
