Feeling like the old guy here being, but Meteora leaked. I remember being unable to pick it up on release day and being upset, but I had definitely heard the album prior to that day. I forget when, but it couldn't have been too early. It was after the Nottingham show, so sometimes between the March 3rd and March 25th. Probably within the same week. Reanimation goes at tiny bit too far back for me to remember if it leaked in full. I think yes. But several tracks got leaked early, with the remix of Ppr:Kut getting radio play here in New York on KRock before the release date. I remember Enth E Nd leaking what felt like pretty far in advance.

Happy Birthday! Thrilled to hear this exists. I remember when this and R&R Hall of Fame was coming on MTV2 all the time in '02. I feel old as fuck now! It's great to hear this exists in its entirety. I've always had a soft spot for Docklands. I love when little things like this pop up.

I posed what I posted just to have it be seen. This is a live guide and the information I provided will help make it more comprehensive. Honestly, it's just always bugged me more than normal because it was not only my first LP show but my first show ever. That's obviously a personal thing though, and in the grand scheme, it's just another show, but this seemed like an okay place to mention it.

It's off topic, but still in the same vein - the Notes for the 02.08.2004 show at Jones Beach aren't 100% complete. I submitted this information at some point and it got nowhere. Not nearly as interesting as the Em thing, but I know the moderators have been in this thread. During the Hip Hop Medley, Snoop Dogg came out, but his microphone cut out. I remember Mike telling the sound guys to fix it. He may or may not have given Snoop his mic, but I'm not 100% on that. I remember hearing Snoop say one line but by the time things worked out he was pretty much finished. Sorry my memory of it isn't as clear, but it was 8 years ago. There's a bunch of pictures of him onstage on Getty Images. Also, Bert McCracken from The Used came out and sang on 'Faint'. I haven't found anything to back it up, but I'm pretty sure it happened. They were my two favorite bands at that time and I lost my shit. Someone I didn't know at the time who was at the show also mentioned this. I also found out there's footage of one of his performances on The Used's "Berth" DVD, but it doesn't look like Jones Beach to me and I've been there 9 times, so I can say that with some authority.

I wouldn't get my hopes up about Amazon adding the music player. I've seen things not have a preview well beyond when they should have. That being said, Amazon in other countries sometimes seems to be a bit ahead, like .de, .fr, or .jp, for those checking. They might pop up earlier in countries where the album is released earlier.

After all the searching to find that clip, I can say it's awful, awful quality. Just hold out a few more days for something better. It definitely sounds like Mike and Chester though and the lyrics seem to fit with the title (from what small bits I could actually make out - what's that about a Kit-Kat, Mike?). I'd believe this as a Linkin Park song. What's weird to me is that the clip seems to shift speeds at certain points. Strange if it was recorded on a phone, but that's just me being curious as an engineer and irrelevant. Anyway, I've been out of the loop for a while. If that leaked WBR tracklist turns out to be true, I'm going to have a very hard time talking about this album with a straight face.

Styles Of Beyond's "Reseda Beach" Coming, Finally!
letdownagain replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
It's not as black and white as that. It depends on what kind of contract was made up then (if there was one) permitting her to be featured on the album and who owns the rights to the "Holly Brooke" name, who owns the rights to that song, etc. I could be wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't show up. If Interscope now owns the rights to "Holly Brooke", SOB might have to get licensing from them, regardless of when the song was recorded. -

I wonder about "Damn" now that Holly Brooke is Skylar Grey. Huge Grammy winning songwriters usually don't show up on independent hip-hop albums. I wonder what kind of deal was worked out and if they have permission to use the song anymore. -
The disc says 10.31.2011, which is likely when the CD was mastered. The CD-R says "for mastering" on it.

In a new interview with Artist Direct, Mike talks about scoring the Indonesian action film "The Raid" for its US release in 2012. He discusses how the process of writing for a movie versus writing a song and other factors in scoring, along with an update on Music for Relief. Notably, he mentions he's made the decision to "essentially abandon the use of electric guitars" for the score and that "super heavy" moments are achieved by "super-distorted percussive and melodic sounds". He is working with Joe Trapanese, who worked as Daft Punk's scoring partner for Tron: Legacy and on strings for M83's new album. Read the interview here: http://www.artistdirect.com/entertainment-...g-music/9517876 The (particularly violent, NSFW) red band trailer can be seen on MTV's website here: http://www.mtv.com/videos/movie-trailers/6.../the-raid.jhtml

Interesting article. They gave away the secret about Brad's headphones, though!

The Placebo track isn't there anymore. I was quite looking forward to it. Was it pulled for some reason? -
DJ Hero 2 DLC - Linkin Park Mix Pack Trailer
letdownagain replied to letdownagain's topic in Newswire
Someone needs to play and record the song without Rewinds and sound effects on. There's some pretty interesting stuff going on. Definitely my favorite remix for ATS so far. -
There were two NIN tour EPs. The Lights in the Sky one has "Echoplex". The one with two new songs on it is the NIN|JA tour EP and it has "Non Entity" and "Not So Pretty Now".

The official DJ Hero YouTube channel has posted a video previewing the LP DLC pack available tomorrow. It features gameplay footage of the remixes done by FreeStyleGames (which, unfortunately, aren't drastically different from their original versions), as well as the "When They Come for Me" remix by Diplo. The three songs in the pack are: "When They Come for Me" - Remixed by Diplo "Pts.OF.Athrty" - Remixed by FSG "The Catalyst (Does it Offend You, Yeah? Remix)" - Remixed by FSG

Hey guys, With the holidays in full swing, I'm looking for a picture Mike drew. It was an art print he did for an auction, featuring two robots drawn in the style of the Fort Minor artwork. The page for the auction had a picture of the print that I never saved. Now I can't remember where I found it and I've looked for it almost every year with no luck. I would peg the original post at around between 2003 and 2005, if I had to. To help jog anyone's memory, I'm pretty sure that the picture featured two robots (with may have been male and female), with one robot giving the other a present. The color scheme is mostly blue, pink and white. I think one robot is blue, the other pink. They are standing in the snow. The print itself, I believe, was auctioned to help suicide prevention. Suicide rates unfortunately spike during the holidays. Is there any kind soul out there who might have saved it? Any help would be great. I always really liked the picture and what it stood for. Happy Holidays! -James

You're right. That makes little sense to me though. If there is a "clean" version of W&K, why wouldn't it be on the "clean" version? I wonder what the deciding factor is (though it's probably the f-bomb).
-
Probably not. There's a clean version of the album and they aren't playing just singles. They played Robot Boy.
-
Oh, I do agree but I just think the vocals could have been dropped at that point - not the whole song. I understand the appeal though, but for me, that doesn't have much replay value.
-
I'm glad they're instrumentals. As much as I appreciate the effort last time, Mike's "rap" on the Leave Out All the Rest demo was kinda embarrassing. I wished that would have just been a instrumental part. And all the bitching - did we not like "Cure for the Itch", "Session" or "A.06"? At least they are full instrumentals and not "Hybrid Theory demos" that turned out to be pretty much 30 second clips. I can't wait till everyone is talking about how awesome "instrumental whatever" is in like the next 2 days. And instrumentals are new songs! If you have not heard that music before, it's new, vocals or not! I think $10 for a CD is fine and think of the monthly pass as a extra $10 for good seats. Trust me, I've got more than a few gripes with the LPU now, but I don't think that's unreasonable. The CD is gonna get you ripped off if you buy it on eBay.
-
I know it's not really on topic, but I encourage all of you to test your LPU access at the very bottom of linkinpark.com so there's no problems with the pre-sale. I just had a slight slip-up. If the tickets were actually on sale, I'd probably just have screwed myself.

DLC Tracks for Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock
letdownagain replied to tschenneck's topic in Everything Linkin Park
Getting a little bit more on topic, if you reverse the Blackout acapella, those vocals at the beginning are cut up versions of Chester singing Blackout from LPTV. It's sick how much I like the acapella of Burning in the Skies. -

I'm really confused. I got the e-mail, but I was in my LPU mail. I went to redeem it and then I had to connect it to another network and that my e-mail (the LPU one) was invalid. So I chose GMail. It said it worked, but I don't see anything on my current account that lets me know if I actually am an LPUX member.
