  1. I still haven't got an e-mail yet. When should I start worrying for real?
  2. It's kinda fucked up that he needs to tell us all these songs we've come to love suck.
  3. Should we expect the e-mails to come to the address we signed up with? My LPU Mail is littered with spam, so I hope it's not in there...somewhere.
  4. They've given the new album a near full performance on this tour. 30 seconds for a small bit of an old song makes you sick? Come on, man. In most cases, I'd agree with you, but Chester had no creative process in that song. I think it's somewhat understandable that he'd not want to play it. On the other hand, he seems like he doesn't want to play anything old (didn't Mike say he's down but "some members" object?). He did also cut into LPs encore with DBS. But I'm in nitpicking territory now. Kudos for any nod to old songs and Mike's willingness to shake things up. This should happen.
  5. Trust me, I haven't agreed with LP on a lot of things, but I think if they didn't like HT, they wouldn't have launched into APFMH, unrehearsed, the other night. I think of what they could have done to celebrate. Going into a 10 year old album on a world tour for your new album seems insane. A re-released wouldn't make much sense, we've got In The End Live and Rare to cover the b-sides, the HT EP and a shitload of early demos (not that they released them to us, but they know we've got them). They released some stuff on LPU9 and probably have more coming on LPUX. I can't think of anything else.
  6. Mike's posted a blog with four of his personal pictures from the early days. Among them is a picture that appears to be Xero, featuring photos of their demo tape and the newspaper clipping for their first show. All the pictures are available here: http://mikeshinoda.com/2010/10/25/10th-ann...-hybrid-theory/
  7. I used Sonar 7 once to track guitars and without using it before, I was comfortable and getting good sounds within minutes. Abelton, on the other hand, I've had a hard time getting the hang of for whatever reason.
  8. Pro Tools isn't the end all be all. It's the industry standard, but it's just a fancy version of other DAWs. What do you use?
  9. iTunes releases a new podcast every week and the podcast says released 10/19/2010, but my iTunes decided to download it today! The podcast features Chester and Mike talking about their favorite songs. I believe you can download it here without iTunes. http://www.apple.com/podcasts/playlist/c.xml
  10. I don't have any fears about the multitracks being cracked. The Beatles Rock Band was cracked and had crazy encryption. Granted, it took over a year to crack, but it was done. Was was this not included in the post, though? "...three Linkin Park hits are also set to receive the exclusive DJ Hero remix treatment as downloadable content this winter for DJ Hero 2."
  11. That picture's pretty rad because I believe it gives the BPM (ex. NUMB110-scratch) for each song as well. Also, there's things specifically listed as "Video", so it seems that Joe may have some control over the screens. I thought he'd just have to be in sync with the video. There's also a set list that ends with "OQ Date". Maybe it's "KROQ Date" and has the Breakfast with LP set list? I wonder if there's an "NYC Set" after that we just can't see. It also looks like there's another one that ends with "Videos...", towards the top. Very interesting stuff for just one picture.
  12. Just thinking out loud - I wasn't aware it was a common occurrence! I hope not. The transition from Numb to Iridescent worked really well and if they're going to play Numb (and I feel very confident they'll keep that one on), they should stick to this.
  13. It's all wishful thinking but Pooch at Rehearsals? Maybe we'll have a few more Third Encore Sessions? As far as old songs, please bring back the album version of Pushing Me Away if it's going to be played. I feel like Nobody's Listening could work well alongside Wretches and Kings and maybe the sound of the new songs could influence the choice of the old songs played. I'm not holding my breath for anything crazy, though and expect singles heavy setlists.
  14. I've been thinking a bunch about Reanimation recently and how much some of the rhymes on that album just don't fit with the theme of the songs and make it awful. For example, "Runaway" is amazing, then it's like, "let me rap how cool I am over this" and just fucks thing up. "Papercut" is a good example of how it should be. A Thousand Suns seems like an even worse album to try and do that with. If they're going to remix stuff, it's gotta be approached differently. I think the King Fantastic remix is awful and it's just a re-hash of this shit. "Wretches" actually makes sense because it has that feel to it. I feel this remix is going to feel a lot more natural. I didn't even think about it earlier, but there's 4 official remixes now - 3 being for "The Catalyst". I think it's overkill to have so many remixes of the same song (especially two by the same band? Come on.) That isn't fair to those who entered the remix contest. Weren't the top 20 supposed to be considered for this stuff?
  15. Really, really enjoyed this. This is the first song from LP that's resonated with me in a while. I feel incredibly thankful to have seen it live and it was really overwhelming, but in a cathartic way.
  16. I'd imagine that if LP commissioned the remix, they'd provide stems or at least an instrumental. It's quite possible it could just be a loop though. For anyone who missed it or hasn't seen Mike's formspring yet, here's a quote: "We've been sending songs out to some amazing remixers lately. The first one came from Does It Offend You, Yeah?". It's kinda cool they're open to remixes again, but honestly, I'd prefer older material. I understand wanting to shy away from that for a while though after Reanimation. I just don't know if these songs lend themselves to being remixed as well.
  17. The first is? Haven't heard, sorry. GBC Remix will be sweet I bet. The Catalyst ("Bobby Bloomfield" DIOYY? Remix) is by Rob Bloomfield from Does It Offend You, Yeah?, hence the name of the remix. Though if you don't know the band, the name probably seems like nonsense.
  18. I was waiting for that. They all looked like they had an awesome time. I hope so. I wish I had a drum kit like that.
  19. No one said he would serve as the band's producer.
  20. Lol at the Vuvuzela app chosen by Phoenix.
  21. It's been a few years, but the band +44 played a show in New York and their AOL sessions were filmed the same day.
  22. I thought the drum kit from Wretches was actually a set of MPCs. I was wrong there. There's very clearly four electronic drums in the MetroMix pictures. So my question is: why does Chester play them like some weird ass animal?
  23. Nothing at the moment, I would imagine. Though it could in someway affect the promotion of the album, I doubt there's going to be some enormous immediate change.
  24. If it is that Rob Cavallo, then I'm very excited. Rob has worked on some awesome stuff and a musical mind should run a music group.
  25. I didn't even realize they didn't play Crawling until I just read it. I thought the setlist was excellent. Faint, No More Sorrow, Given Up and Wretches And Kings back to back to back was so awesome and so heavy. No More Sorrow into Given Up especially was fucking amazing. Numb into Iridescent was excellent as well. I always expect the transition to go into Pushing Me Away and I was pleasantly surprised and the band seemed loaded with energy. Even songs you could say are "played out" were energetic. Plus, the interaction I had with Chester was my favorite, hands down. I've gone to a few M&Gs, but seeing them right after they played was just so much better. Chester looked psyched and was closer than you'll ever get at a M&G (Not that I'm trying to knock them, I'm just using it as comparison). I also have to say that I thought the sound was excellent. I was unfortunately not in the room during New Divide (ran slightly behind) but it sounded so well mixed even outside. I could clearly hear The Radiance once I got off the escalator. I probably shouldn't have stayed right under the PA for my ear's sake, but I could hear some really awesome nuances during the more "mellow" songs (and didn't have much room to move anyway). I'm really excited to hear the DSP. So much for being too tired to comment.
