  1. I have a stupid question: Is Part of Me related at all to Figure .09? As in the demo of it? It doesn't seem logical, but I have read a couple of times (I think once on here) that POM became Figure .09, even though they are years apart.

    Best of ATS tour

Well I didn't really want to get into this because I know I'm biased, but if no one else will make a suggestion for The Catalyst, I thought it sounded good at the Kansas City show while I was there. I'm not comparing it to very many shows, but if no one else has a better suggestion I'd say Kansas City. Edit: 100th Post!
  3. The lack of holding up the album jokes are holding up the new album.

    Fall DSP's

    lol I have 4 for July 22: 2000, 2001, 2003, and 2008. Just missed the beginning of PR04 (1 day) and 07 (3 days).
  6. I was very nervous before this album came out. I knew it was going to be a lot different, but other than that, I wasn't sure what to expect. When they came out, I loved The Catalyst, liked Wretches And Kings and loved Waiting For The End, so so far things were looking good. I didn't (and never do) download the leak and instead waited until September 14 when I went and got the CD. I remember being pretty disappointed at first, but it grew on me. Now I think it is just as good as their previous three albums, but in a different way. Individual-songs wise, I don't think it's quite as good, but listening to the whole thing top to bottom, it's great because of the overall experience of the album. While I would probably never add them to a playlist, the interludes add a lot to the overall album and help songs blend. With A Thousand Suns, I found myself enjoying the slow songs more than the faster ones. My four favorite songs from the album are probably Iridescent, Waiting For The End, The Catalyst and The Messenger. Meanwhile, I don't like When They Come For Me, Blackout, and Wretches And Kings as much. i think the main reason for this is, I can enjoy a slow song without a lot of guitar. But for me, there has to be some guitar on the faster ones, which WTCFM, etc. lack. As far as Robot Boy goes, it's my least favorite song on the album, but I still hope it gets played live before the ATS cycle wraps up, to keep the "every song" tradition going. So, to sum it up, A Thousand Suns is a great album, but not my favorite all time. My main issue is that IT NEEDS MORE GUITAR. Not background/quiet guitar. Like loud, obvious guitar like past albums have had. Favorite Songs: Iridescent Waiting For The End The Catalyst The Messenger
  7. I personally don't think it would be a bad setlist (I have liked this set all along), my point is many members here instantly criticize and hate a setlist just because "OH NO IT GOT PLAYED TWICE!" Just look at the threads from the Las Vegas and Los Angeles shows where they played CFTI. Vegas: "Cool they switched it up and played Cure For The Itch! I like it! LA: "Cure For The Itch AGAIN!?!? Come on LP never does anything new! Yes, that's exatly what I meant.
  8. Watch, they will do the same set keeping NRL over BIO at the next show and suddenly it will be the worst setlist ever according to half of LPL.
  9. Wow. I seriously would have expected something like By Myself or And One before this. This is amazing. No Roads Left was always "I would LOVE for them to play it, but I KNOW they never will." I never expected to see NRL live in any form. I hope this is a sign that LP starts using fan input for setlists more and/or starts throwing in like 10 different songs over the BIO bridge. I have to admit, I always used to read the "maybe they'll play NRL this tour" and get annoyed by those posts, now I guess I can't complain.
  10. If there's discussion for the 1-year anniversary (which I'm assuming there will), I'll make a more in-depth post there, but for now here's what I have to say: First, I did not download the leak and I never do because I always want to wait until the release day. However, I did listen to The Catalyst, Wretches And Kings, and Waiting For The End when the band released them. A Thousand Suns is a great example of the sum being greater than its parts, in my opinion. As far as individual songs go, it's probably my least favorite LP album (but still good), but as a whole it's probably my favorite album by any band, because of the experience. Individually, yes, the six interludes seem annoying and almost pointless, but listening from top to bottom, they add a lot to the album. Also, unlike most albums, i found myself enjoying the slower songs more than the faster ones. Songs like Iridescent and Waiting For The End are great, but I was not a big fan of, for example, Wretches And Kings and When They Come For Me. I, like most people, would have preferred a lot of guitar. (Blackout with some heavy guitar could have potentially been my favorite LP song ever.) But even without it, this was overall a pretty good album.
  11. I, like most people here, prefer the old music over the new as well, but that doesn't make ATS bad. You have to stop expecting too much of this band. If you don't like the new music, why are you here? I mean opinions are fine to have, but it gets VERY annoying when every show thread ends up the same way, with the same people complaining about the setlists. If the last page from every show thread of the past year were put together in one thread, no one would see a difference, they all have the same ending. If you're unhappy, that's fine, WE GET IT, you don't have to keep telling us after EVERY show. I'm starting to think that someone should just create a new thread and let all this complaining go there, so we wouldn't have to weed through all of it in the show threads to get some actual useful discussion. Like I said, I would love to see some old songs in the set too, it would be awesome, but I'm not going to sit here and tell everyone, because no one wants to hear it and it's not really necessary to say it every day. Remember, don't let Setlist Trading Card Syndrome get to you. Admit it or not, LP concerts are still amazing. Especially people in the US/Europe, at least we have the opportunity to go to at least a concert per year, unlike South America, Asia and Australia. To the people saying that they should extend their sets, remember that they probably have longer setlists than most of your other favorite bands already. I don't know why everyone treats LP different than other bands. They play three DIFFERENT (even if it is minimally) 20-song setlists and everyone complains they're not playing enough songs, but then another band plays one 15 song set and everyone is happy. Doesn't make sense to me. Also, complaints ABOUT the setlist complaints are almost just as bad now .... so you people aren't much better. (I know I'm contributing to this too, but had to make this post)
  12. I think it has a great vibe as an opener; I would like to see The Requiem/CFTI dropped in favor of a long new intro to Faint. Yes, the outro is long and has a closer feel, but it's still awesome anywhere in the set and I still think One Step Closer's outro is an even better closer. I would say the outro could be shortened, but I think that would take a lot of epicness away.
  13. Exactly my thoughts. I'd like to see an old song as much as everyone else, but I have also seen Linkin Park only once, at this year's Kansas City show, and the LAST thing on my mind after that show was being disappointed about no Figure .09, With You, etc. This show was meant for a good cause, not to play a bunch of different songs. Yesterday, everyone was saying how THIS IS AN AMAZING SETLIST! and now everyone hates it. What happened to everyone wanting The Messenger back? First everyone wanted it, now people are saying they don't. Just be happy LP changes their setlists a little and does rotate. Most bands play the same set for a whole tour, and I don't see anyone complaining about those bands. PS Faint is probably my favorite opener.
  14. I almost included A Place For My Head but didn't for a couple of reasons. Honestly, I think that it's much better live and as much as I like it, it wasn't really a hit among casual/non-Linkin Park fans. Also, I ran out of room with 21 tracks and I don't think it deserved to be in more than anything that made it.

  16. If you go to setlist.fm and search Linkin Park there is a way to view their covered songs. I don't think any of the artists were really recognizeable (not looking right now) and I'm also not sure how legit some of them are. A couple songs I remember not listed here were No More Sorrow and Lying From You, I know there were more.

  20. I agree, I was hoping for new intros/outros, especially because some of the new songs have very long intros. The only changes I have noticed are very small ones, like the ending of No More Sorrow (instead of repeating "your time has come to be replaced" 3 times, he now repeats the whole chorus again), and the extended outro of One Step Closer kicks in a little sooner.
  21. I put it as one of my least favorites in that thread, but I still really like it. It is one of my least favorite songs on MTM, but the album is great, so it's kind of by default. Don't get me wrong, it's really good, especially for easy listening like LPxDC said, but most of MTM is better. It just shows how good the album (and all of LP's music) really is.

  24. Hybrid Theory: Crawling Cure For The Itch (love everything else) Meteora: Nobody's Listening Hit The Floor Breaking The Habit Minutes To Midnight In Between Valentine's Day (still really good) What I've Done (still really good) A Thousand Suns(not counting interludes) Robot Boy When They Come For Me Blackout or Wretches And Kings (both are still good) Although the only songs I really dislike from them are Nobody's Listening and Robot Boy.
  25. I've seen a lot of posts like this, so I thought I would clear this up: For Mike to rap something over Bleed It Out, the two songs have to have the same speed. This might not make a lot of sense to those who don't play an instrument/aren't musical, but that's just how it is. The reason they do Reading My Eyes, A Place For My Head, and Burning In The Skies is because they all have tge same tempo as Bleed It Out (or very close). Therefore, songs like With You, Figure .09, and By Myself would not work. But, for example, Faint or Part Of Me might (not that they ever would). I know Mike himself has said this at Meet and Greets too, saying that, I think it was Forgotten or By Myself, is too fast. Too fastfor him to physically rap, no. Too fast for Bleed It Out, yes. If We were talkung about Points Of Authority, the live rap outro is about the same speed as Bleed It Out, so the same songs apply. But the intro is different, so Part Of Me, APFMH, etc. No longer work, and Figure .09, With You, etc. could be over it's intro. Make sense?
