I think I posted this in another thread, but it seems to have gotten buried. The guide suggests that What I've Done currently has an extended ticking intro. (I know it doesn't actually say extended, but it's implied). Really, Mike's piano part just comes in two measures later than it normally would, so it's just the "ticking" for two measures. It's not any longer. I know it's kind of nitpicky, but worth mentioning. fixed by Mark

I think it was the same number of loops and the piano just came in later (maybe Mike messed it up), but I'd have to see it again.

After thinking about it a little more, I think "The Hunting Party" is the title and it will be released sometime in June. Apparently there won't be any puzzles this time, which is kind of disappointing.... As for the website, the clouds will probably fade away to reveal the tour with 30 Seconds to Mars. So we basically have everything except release dates for the single and album. Edit: I wouldn't think LP would be making such a big deal out of this if it were just for Transformers.... They're treating it like a new album, not one song.

I don't know what "The Hunting Party" would mean if it's not the album title, but I would think that 6.14 would mean June 14th, not June 2014, because I think 2014 is kind of a given. But we also thought that "Living Things" was just a clue and meant nothing at first, so I don't know.... I hope we get some puzzles to work out instead of them just giving us information lol.

I thought it was played at a soundcheck somewhere around there. Weren't QWERTY's bass lines and one other song played at a soundcheck like a year or two ago? And POA was on two 2010 setlists but not played.... maybe they rehearsed it?

That's a good point, they did. Especially the Requiem opening, it felt like something big was about to happen, more so than most intros.

I've been wondering about a way for each show page to list all of the LPL members who were there. Or guest comments at each page. It could get out of hand/difficult to moderate/etc. but it could be interesting. And yeah not sure if you were planning on waiting for the next version, but I sent in a ton of banners a while ago and was wondering if they were getting used.

I saw them once on the 2011 North American arena tour. I could have done without them, they kind of seemed like ways to fill time/give the band breaks. They were interesting on the album to make it flow together, but a live setting is different - it's less about flow, more about individual songs. Some (The Requiem, Empty Spaces) made sense because the former opened the show and the latter was short. But others (The Radiance, Fallout) took up time that could have been used otherwise, and we basically just stood there during them. Even if they would have been taken out and replaced by nothing in the set, I think I would have preferred them talking to us during that time. The crowd wasn't all that great for any of the show, but I don't think anyone really cared about the interludes from what I remember. Overall, they were not as useful live as they were on the album.

So, I was just watching the Olympics on NBC and a commercial for the upcoming series "Revolution" came on and Roads Untraveled was used in it. Not that it's terribly newsworthy, but thought it was interesting. I'm too lazy to find a video right now.

Had to post my review. I was expecting a mix of Minutes To Midnight and A Thousand Suns, with some Hybrid Theory/Meteora influence in lyrics, etc. Overall, I think that's what it was, with more ATS than I expected. 1. LOST IN THE ECHO - Chester's vocals in the chorus were less aggressive than i expected/hoped for. But, after a few listens, the song has grown on me. I liked the raps/screams. 8.5/10 2. IN MY REMAINS - Sounded a little to similar to Burn It Down in some areas, but overall a nice song. I liked Mike's vocals at the end. 8.5/10 3. BURN IT DOWN - Not bad, but a little too poppy for my taste. Liked the rapping. 8/10 4. LIES GREED MISERY - Still not sure what to think about this song. I want to like it, but it seems like something's missing and like it was rushed. Not a huge fan of the lyrics either, but it's still a fun song and the ending is pretty cool. 8/10 5. I'LL BE GONE - Really good song. Nothing really jumps out at me to make it amazing, but it's one of those songs that really has nothing wrong with it either. Just a nice mid-tempo song with a big chorus. 9/10 6. CASTLE OF GLASS - Pretty different from what I expected. It's definitely folky, but still good. Mike's vocals are really good as usual. This is the first track that really strays from the standard-ish formula used in the first part of the album. I would have preferred a bigger climax, like the vocals going higher at the end. 8/10 7. VICTIMIZED - This track confuses me. I feel like they made it to satisfy the older fans, not because they wanted to. I like the verses, but the chorus sounds very forced. And the drums didn't make much sense to me. 1) The punk-ness bugs me 2) They sound different from all other LP drums, like they were recorded in a garage or something. 7/10 8. ROADS UNTRAVELED - I like it, but I wish it had a chorus. It feels like it was really close to being REALLY good, but didn't quite get there. Maybe it needed a bigger climax, like Castle Of Glass. 8.5/10 9. SKIN TO BONE - Decent I guess, but it didn't really go anywhere. Kind of a consistent, almost boring-ness. Not awful, but it needs to go somewhere, it was too repetitive. 6.5/10 10. UNTIL IT BREAKS - This felt like a medley. I know it came from like 3 demos, and I don't think it really worked. The verses were OK, but they really needed a different, more aggressive chorus. Brad's part was good, but again, it didn't really belong there. 6.5/10 11. TINFOIL - Good I guess. 12. POWERLESS - Great ending to the album. Best slower song on the album. Really liked when Chester started singing "Powerless" higher toward the end. 9/10 OVERALL LIVING THINGS RATING - 8/10 My early rankings (these will probably change): 1. I'LL BE GONE 2. POWERLESS 3. TINFOIL Like most have said, I really like the first half more than the second half. I really like these big choruses that appear early on, but those kind of disappear from COG through UIB. That said, the only songs that I didn't like very much were Victimized, Skin To Bone and Until It Breaks. Overall, I was a little disappointed. I expected to like this a lot, and early on, I like it, but not as much as I hoped. But, as I type this, I can already feel it growing on me, so my hopes are up for my future opinion improving. A lot of the songs' ratings are close together, so I hope they start to separate more.

I'm not totally sure, but I don't think these are completely true. My December was written in about two hours by Mike for a Christmas charity event, according to Chester's speech at the Fairfax '02 show. I suppose it could also be about the fight thing, but it seems unlikely. Also, Meteora was written and had demos made in those places, but I don't think those recordings actually found their way onto the album.

In The End. Around late 2007-early 2008 my friend started listening to LP and told me about them. I had heard of them, but didn't really know their music. I remember vaguely recognizing In The End and maybe a couple others, but I instantly became hooked on ITE and LOVED it, especially the bridge and ending. I slowly started to like more and more of their songs and today they're my favorite band and I'm a much bigger fan than my friend is lol.
