I think you misunderstood. Every song on the main 4 albums are already in; now we're nominating b-sides and separate releases. Update: I won't be home much tomorrow so I would like to get the first round started on Tuesday. However I would like to see more participants/nominations first!

Agreed. Like I said earlier, just because a single and one other track name have been confirmed now doesn't mean that more info/snippets will MAGICALLY start leaking. Why didn't this happen a week ago or more? Also, based on those lyrics that were posted, "...if you do not like, simply...." sounds a bit 'lost in translation'. I would think that it would go more like, "if you don't like it...". Almost like whoever posted it came up with it in their language and translated it to English. And, even if "Lightning Strike" was on YouTube first, then maybe the poster got it from YouTube, instead of the other way around....

So I had this idea to do a song tournament for Linkin Park. It's going to similar to the current TV show tournament going on now. 64 songs and six rounds, which will each last 2 or 3 days, depending on when I can get on. I'm taking every track from their 4 main albums, adding up to 54. This means that we will need 12 more to make an even field of 64. So for now, we will be voting on B-sides, etc. to make up those spots. I know there's not a ton of completed demos, so some instrumentals will have to be taken. I AM ONLY TAKING ONE VERSION OF EACH SONG. This means 1) No voting for demos such as "Fear", that already have a released version and 2) If two versions of the same song (such as High Voltage) get in the top 12 votes, I am only taking the top one. After this, I will make a bracket containing the 64 songs and Round 1 voting will begin. I will try to make the bracket seeded fairly, but it won't be perfect so please don't complain. I am not listening to it, so I have no musical evidence to support this, but I have a feeling it is fake. What are the chances that a snippet just HAPPENS to leak the same day the name/date are made official. Everyone, including us and fake-video makers, are getting overly excited today and scrambling to make fake snippets/look for real snippets. Don't let the excitement of the official announcement cause you to assume that there are already real clips out there. Announcments have nothing to do with whether or not music has been leaked.

I wasn't suggesting that it would sound exactly like Hybrid Theory or Meteora. Obviously, there is almost no way we're getting songs like that. Honestly, I see it as a cross between Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns, but with less slow songs. I just feel like bringing back more guitars is kind of their way to get more older fans interested again. In my opinion, instead of just doing what THEY want to do, like Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns, they are letting fans tell them what to do a little bit. Either way, the album is still going to sound great, and I'm very excited.

Don't get me wrong, I like the guitars a lot and I like Hybrid Theory through Minutes to Midnight more than A Thousand Suns. However, I still like A Thousand Suns and the way I see it, it's like they've come too far in their sound evolution to go back now. I don't think it's going to sound JUST like Hybrid Theory by any means, but I still see this as a step back in the evolution process and to me it's like, how can they tell us two years ago that they're going through this great change in sound and they're sick of the nu-metal sound, then go right back and go back to it. I can't help but think that money/sales/popularity played a big role in this. Sure, maybe they just wanted to bring back guitars, etc. but you can't tell me that when they saw less album sales and half-filled arenas (at least the show I went to), that played a part in the decision to partly revert back to old ideas. Again, I didn't hate A Thousand Suns, but it was probably my least favorite album in terms of individual songs, but I see this new transition of sound as being forced based on what they saw in fan support, rather than what they WANT to do, like Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns were.
