One More Light is one of the most poignantly beautiful songs the band has ever written. Good Goodbye provides a moment of levity on an otherwise heavy (no pun intended) album.

Whatever they decide to do, I'll ultimately support. Personally, though, I would prefer that Mike step up as the sole front man of LP. Play the songs he can pull off. Alter some songs that are out of his range normally. Play some of his solo songs after converting them to full-band material. I realize some people will vehemently disagree with me, and say that it would be inappropriate for Mike to play any of his solo stuff under the LP name, but I disagree. I would have agreed if Chester was alive. I didn't really like Welcome being played by LP, for example. The only positive to that was that it gave Chester's voice a break. Chester is gone, though, as much as that still hurts to say. The Chester-era of LP is over, and the next chapter is LP's to write. If doing any of that would help fill out a full set as a 5-piece, then I would rather that as opposed to bringing in another vocalist on a permanent basis. Outside of a tribute show or special guest, I really wouldn't want to hear anybody else but Mike or the crowd singing Chester's parts on a regular basis

Mike has sung on every song released so far from his album. 3 of the 6 released songs are all singing. One could argue that Watching As I Fall is also all singing, but whatever.
-
Technically, yeah. Honestly though, in my opinion, UIB is far superior to About You both lyrically and in terms of ambition.
-
I think he actually said he had 2 verses and he just threw them in together. He said it adds to the varying moods of the song. He basically tried to spin it into a cool, experimental thing. Mike is good at creating hype, I have to admit.

Lol. Something to do with accessing LPL on mobile. That happens to me every time I post from my phone.

I don't think she would take offense, because that's not an insult. This isn't a Linkin Park song. Her style is what it is. Mike and Brad just helped her fully realize her vision for her song.

A Perfect Circle x Linkin Park - "Eat The Elephant"

Chester was absent on one of the OML tracks? If you're referring to Invisible, I thought he did background vocals on that one. -
This is awesome!!! Informative post as always, and it's much appreciated. I would ask if you guys feel that 6 tracks are too much to release before the album, but a) I will never complain about too much new music, and the album has 16 songs lol so there will still be enough to make release day special!

"It seems it most likely will never be released as a sign of respect to Chester." I may be wrong, and of course I will always respect the wishes of LP as it relates to Chester, but this explanation is something I don't really buy. WFT was in limbo long before Chester passed away, and I also don't see how essentially throwing away the song is a sign of respect.

I could be 100% wrong but I think what happened is that Mike threw himself into Post Traumatic (16 songs!), and the rest of the band aren't ready to go there yet. At this point, this far into 2018, I think there's a possibility that there will be no LPU 17 music. It might just pick back up in 2018. Maybe with a completed "Looking for an Answer" as a track on that.

Nothing Makes Sense Anymore made me cry. Hit me harder than any of the others so far. As for Crossing the Line, I realize that what good is the kingdom if youre missing the love? probably is not a callback to KTTK, but my brain registered it that way and for some reason that hit me really hard... Side note: apostrophes and quotations refuse to show up when I use LPL on my iPhone. I know how to type lol

This is great news! Not gonna lie, when I saw that Mike said it would be a while before anyone else heard the song, I thought it would take way longer than this. Lol. Glad I was wrong!

So is this a good time to again ask about the possibility of a like button?

Im sure that Astat or Hahninator would have more concrete info, but if I remember correctly, Sublime with Rome claimed LP called Security on them because they were smoking weed backstage at a show. Mike denied it, Sublime with Rome stuck to their story and branded LP Linkin Narc, and then it kind of just blew over and went away. Not sure if the 100% undisputed truth ever came out about it.

This is so amazing. The way he mentioned that he isnt sure who wants to see just him on a big tour without Chester....to see this response from around the world is so great.

I was around back then as well, and although it may have FELT that it was not a solo project just based on how FM was presented at times, it was indeed still a solo project. Mike featured SOB heavily, and played shows with them and everything, but at the end of the day it was Fort Minor featuring Styles of Beyond. If Mike had considered Fort Minor a group, then it wouldn't have made sense to list them as features.
-
This. Every song they're featured on on TRT says "featuring SOB", which is why I never understood the whole misunderstanding and attitude of "Fort Minor shows without SOB? I guess Fort Minor is a solo project now." It always was.

You said that in July, and I'll say now what I said then: It does no good to look at Cornell as the reason Chester is gone. Whether or not that was what pushed Chester over the edge, there were things already going on in his mind besides that, and the same is true of Chris Cornell. It's terrible the way things turned out, but you cant simultaneously have empathy for Chester and acknowledge that depression is a mental illness, while at the same time saying you can't stand Chris Cornell for possibly being Chester's final trigger. I feel like there's a better way to say what I mean, but do you see what I'm trying to say?

Well... the point of staying is to be among fellow LP fans. Whether you like the newer stuff or not is not the issue. It's your right to not like what you don't like. As long as the criticism isn't inappropriately brutal or personal, I don't see an issue with saying that you don't like something by LP. We are a community, not a cult. It's alright to have differing opinions with someone on something while still being part of the community.

I hope that didnt get canceled. Releasing OML and the rest of the remaining albums insteumentals and acapellas would be amazing. I figured that it was just indefinitely postponed after Chester passed, which is understandable.
-
Ive been saying this for years now lol. Once they released Living Things like that, I was hoping they would release their back catalogue that way too. Also, dont leave out Reanimation even if that one would be less likely.
-
I definitely agree. I believe that Chester would be very proud at how much Mike has stepped up and improved as far as singing goes.

RTR is an amazing show that I still can watch and enjoy almost 10 years later. I love that DVD so much... That being said OML Live is great too!

Linkin Park Releases 'Talking to Myself' Lyric Video
Justin replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
I'm completely guessing on this, but it is possible that the release was postponed after Chester passed. Then, it was originally made public by mistake back in August...and now is the time that the band feels right releasing this "officially".
