So I listened and I gotta say, in my opinion, the LPU9 cd was much better. I like instrumentals but there's nothing special on LPUX except Pale and Halo. What we don't know is also a great little demo along with PTB but the rest...not great for me. I love ATL on LPU9 and say what you will but for a 'demo', its a quality track. Drawing is also a kickass instrumental as is A-Six full length. The Figure.09 demo was like a whole new song and its was cool hearing different lyrics over Faint. Track length wise, yes, X beats 9 but quality demo for quality demo, 9 is way better than X in my opinion. Thats my thoughts on the matter

Looking forward to hearing the tracks. But once I do it shall befall the same fate as LPU9 cd in that I won't hardly listen to it again (as I've done with previous LPU CD's except for a few songs here and there). The only track I still listen to from LPU9 is ATL. PTB has even fallen by the wayside! Personally speaking, I'd love LP to cover some of the songs they love (Linkinparkify them if you will) and put em an LPU CD. That would be awesome IMO. Still looking forward to hearing LPUX all the same.

Just watched the 3 pro-shot performances online and they were awesome. Great crowd by the looks of things. Can't wait to see the full show on MTV. Oh and Mike, you are THE MAN but I'm sorry my friend, the Stevie Wonder specs make you look like a douche!
-
Awesome stuff and great work by Hahninator! See to me, this is why LPLive is better than LPA. LPA is great but it doesn't cover stuff like this!
-
Not sure if I'm willing to fork out 10euro for a DSP. Might wait and see if there's a really unique one. Question - Can anyone tell me what the below represents on the setlist? Just curious! Thanks " 50mike.crowd-- 50crowd-- 50rob-- 50chester.banner-- 50joe-- 50phoenix-- 50brad-- 50mike-- 50mike.keyboard-- 50chester-- 50Cover-- 50rob.behind"

Much props LP...much props! I said exactly the same thing in the 'setlist thread' after they played APFMH, i.e. do you think they noticed the fans complaining and thats the reason they changed it up and interacted more. One or two folks said no but Hahninator backed me up! Cheers man! By the by...Mike if you read this...lose the Stevie Wonder specs. They seriously hamper your cool level
-
That...was...fucking...awesome!!!! Chester tore that shit up big time! With a little bit of luck the crowds reaction to APFMH may force it to be played again...maybe! Do you guys think that band has been reading this forums with regards to the little interaction they've been doing with the fans at the recent shows and the resulting complaints? This might explain the turnaround in crowd interaction at the France show or it could just be coincidence!

I don't know! Maybe nothing. Maybe everything. Try reading it again. Ready....Go! ... ... ... ...now thats spam!

Fan #1 - "Yes, they finally played With You again on tour and it was just as awesome as I remember it" Fan #2 - "Yeah, I suppose, but I would've preferred if they played APFMH!" Fan #1 - "But dude, they also finally played No Roads Left and it was totally badass!" Fan #2 - "Yeah, but Across The Line would've be soooo much better to play than NRL" Fan #1 - "Wow man, you're tough to please aren't you?" Fan #2 - "Hey man, I paid my hard earned money for this ticket in the hope they'd play some of the older/rarer tracks instead of the same stuff they always play!" Fan #1 - "You know what, you're right! Stay right there while I ask the other 20,000 people at this show if they agree with you!!!" Morale of the story...there's no pleasing everyone and by everyone I mean the MILLIONS of LP fans around the world! You want rotating setlists or classic songs like With You or A Place for my head??? Then watch the Live in Texas dvd or go on YouTube! Rant over!

With regards to the whole rotating setlist thing. Anyone ever think that maybe LP are just trying to comfortable with playing the new stuff live, both lyrically and muscially. Everyone is dying to hear Blackout live (including me), but Blackout is going to be complicated as hell to perform live. My guess is, it will be the last song from the new stuff that we will hear live. Robot Boy has the whole band singing on it for just about the whole song. It could be that Brad, Joe and Phoenix aren't quite up to performing that one live just yet. Those guys have only started singing live for the first time ever on this tour (bar Phoenix who's done TLTGYA). Remember how Mike was when he first started singing more stuff live. He seemed quite nervous and shy about singing when compared to rapping but obviously he's way more comfortable now. Could be the same for Brad, Joe and Phoenix so they may need a bit of time. BITS has a fair bit of Mike singing on it too. Mike's always said that the reason he doesn't perform NRL is because it takes a lot out of him. Maybe its the same with BITS. Give it time and we'll see some rotating setlists. Maybe LP are just trying to nail down the new songs lyrically, musically, the new interludes and transitions between one song to the next before they start mixing it up. Just my thoughts on the matter, thats all.

Its an awesome idea and I applaud LP for the concept but realistically, the vast majority of LPU members won't be able to attend nor will they be able to attend future events should they choose to hold another. Yes, I'm only in Ireland but the cost alone is not worth it to me. Flights, accommodation, LPUX membership and spending money would add up to a seriously expensive trip. Not to mention, taking time off work. If this is the type of exclusive stuff thats lined up for LPUX members then personally, its not worth renewing my membership. Yes, most members will love this stuff and hopefully take advantage but in the real world earning a living and family takes priority over something like this...no matter how much I love and support LP! For all those attending, I really hope it lives up to expectations and you have a kickass time. For the rest of us, we await the LPUX cd info (at least I can afford that...I hope!)

Can...not...wait...for...next...live...dvd!!!!

I like the setlist but I think they'll change it up to see what works best for them. Does anyone know if Brad rocked the megaphone during WTCFM? Would be so cool if he did!
-
It wasn't great. I wouldn't preferred to hear the whole songs on their own without the interview portions being mixed in!

Good luck getting a straight answer from Joe during the chat!

Brilliant blog from Mike! I've been a fan since HT and when I first listened to ATS, I gotta be honest and say I didn't like it. Was I gonna dismiss ATS and subsequently LP after just one listen??? Of course not, that would be just plain stupid! So I listened to ATS again & again & again....and after several (understating it), listens, I learned to appreciate and love ATS for what it is and for what it is NOT! Like all other albums I have, not just LP albums, there are some songs I like and some I don't. I thank LP for making ATS and having the balls to do what they wanted to and what makes them happy! I look forward to many more LP albums in the future no matter what "genre" they may be!
-
Congrats to LP! Damn us Irish with only a #3. Sorry bout that LP, some folk are gonna be getting slapped as punishment! HA On that note, does anyone know how the ATS orders direct from LP.com are counted? I mean, do they go towards the US charts or because I ordered one, does it go towards the Irish charts? Do direct orders from LP.com even count at all towards chart positioning???

I think once WFTE hits and gets some decent airplay/video plays, ATS will shift yet more copies. I think WFTE is that sort of song that has been going around the last while that people seem to like i.e. Rap/singing but catchy. I know people say Mike isn't rapping on WFTE but you get my point! EDIT: Also, when Iridescent is released the album will sell more copies IMO
-
If you have a PS3, I highly recommend you listen to ATS while having the earth visualizer playing. It totally adds to the whole experience. Try it if you don't believe me!

mmm...a free lifetime membership to LPLive!?!?!? HA

OK, so I streamed the leak once and didn't like. I've pre-ordered the deluxe from LP but couldn't stand waiting until Tuesday to hear it again (thanks america!). So went down to the store today and bought the special edition cd/dvd. WOW LP, I take it all back!!!! Fuckin awesome album. Well done to LP. Already listened about 12 times today. Still don't like Fallout though! As for the dvd...what a mind fuck that was! Good but way trippy! FYI - if you like to smoke the wacky tobacci or take "other stuff", I'd advise not to watch Meeting of a Thousand Suns while high
-
Great video! Well done man

So I'm guessing they will be playing offsite in some other location just like they did when they play BIO a couple years ago (the one with captain retardo timbaland). No way they'd play more than one song if they were in the main 'awards' location. P.S. - 'Awards' in is inverted comas because anything MTV related is ridonkulous these days

One of my feelings after listening to this is that it's really hard to recognise it as linkin park. By that I mean, with previous albums & songs, I got the feeling that if I never heard a song before and say turned on the radio and heard the first few notes/cords of BIO, LFY or even ATL, I'd say to myself, "hey, that sounds like linkin park". If I was not to have heard ATS and say BITS or iridescent was to come on the radio, I don't think I'd recognise it as linkin park! Maybe, this is what LP were trying to achieve with ATS. It's a hard thing to explain what I'm trying to say but maybe some of you will understand!
