Rubin....meh. He's just a guy with a beard. Don't get what's so special about him. Mike will take lead obviously and Brad will be there backing up just like on ATS.

I voted for Iridescent which is one of my favourites but I don't like it live. Same goes for BITS, WFTE and LOATR. I really like those songs but I think they're weak live. Just my opinion. I prefer certain songs live and certain songs on the album. I love The Catalyst but I would like them to perform it live without the vocoder (or whatever its called). Personally, I think it would be better. I would've like to see an option of picking favourite live songs and favourite album songs. Again...just my opinion

That was stressful Some of the questions, I was like, why do you need to know this!? 3 favourite songs was tough. I felt pressured in case my vote actually swayed any decision making. Ridiculous, I know, but couldn't help feeling that if I picked a certain song like NRL, it was a waste, given that Mike said in the chat recently that it doesn't sound good live. Thats assuming of course, that the song choices are geared towards setlists. In the end, I just stuck my principals and picked my 3-favourites: Blackout, Iridescent and APFMH. However, ATL was not available as a choice and that is one of my all time favs. I would've also liked a comments section instead of picking from the drop down lists. Still, interesting survey. Who knows, maybe they'll finally stop using myspace

Cool. Friend of mine I used to work with just posted this on her FB page "but in the end it doesn't even matter!!!! Loved Linkin Park-great concert (apart from the warm up band which showed swastikas and huge p****)" She was not an LP fan before but I reckon she is now! Interesting note on the warm up band though! Anyone know which act she could be referring to?? She's not sure of their name

Interesting chat. Everyone has their favourites but obviously everyone can't be pleased. I won't even mention what songs I think should be dropped & which should be played for fear of being torn a new one in the forum. But yeah, With You would be a welcome return, as would F.09 and many others. We'll never get the perfect setlist, ever, thats just a fact of life. Also, I love the fact that he mentioned PB n Jellyfish not having a good chance of being played. Imagine being at an LP concert and then mid-show, they bust out PB n Jellyfish. The whole crowd would be like WTF! I want The Wizard Song

Good man Adam. Lets hope it happens but no matter what, fair play to you for passing the message along. Top man

Didn't like it at first but its gradually growing on me. No crazy about Mike's look and I'm sorry, but for me, the dog looks so out of place in the video. Looks as though Phoenix had an easy day at the office too. I'd love for Joe to breakdown his videos and explain what he was trying to convey (if anything) in certain shots, effects etc. Yes, I know the guys like their music & videos to be open to interpretation by each individual but I'd still like for Joe to explain whats happening in the video (apart from his brief description). While looking at the video, I'm wondering if the transformers parts in the video are taken directly from the movie i.e. like New Divide or if they were specially done for the music video. Does anyone know? It was clear as day in New Divide but its harder to tell with Iridescent without actually seeing the movie.

congrats to Joe. I hope he enjoys the experience and is left alone to make the movie in his own style.

Cheers guys. This is awesome!

Well done LP and well deserved for an amazing album

Official 'Iridescent' Remix - Transformers 3
andydlp replied to BeardyWilderness's topic in Newswire
really not liking it. Absolutely love the album version which still trumps this. Seems like something that was done by a fan like The Catalyst remix contest. If this is the version that gets released as the official single then its a huge let down IMO. However, if its just for the OST then I can live with that. Just please don't let it be what is officially released as the single....please LP!!! -
It's....it's ALIVE! (The site that is) Welcome back

I like WJ&L but would not really be affected either way with it not be on the DSP's. I just bought 6 DSP's over the weekend and some have it (Paris/Tel Aviv) but others don't. Its OK to listen to but its not a stand out track. If I were pushed for an answer, i'd rather they drop it completely. But...they've talked about playing ATS live in its entirety at some point. This has a big effect if they ever do play ATS in its entirety as the susequent DSP would include it! On a side note...regarding my 6 DSP's...I could've sworn it was buy 5 and get the 6th for free or am I think of the offer during the MTM touring cycle?!

Thanks for the info! Request.....sent!

It'll be interesting to see what Mr Hahn does this time round. Will it be straight up performance video or something story based like SOTD. Also, how will Mike cover up his luscious head of hair in this video. He used a hood in TC, a hat in WFTE....whats next...a cap??? If so, it'll be the resurrection of FM Mike

Ha...I just made a thread like 15min before this one. I had no link or reference to Joe's twitter though. BITS is OK for a single but would've preferred Blackout (wishful thinking), Irisdescent or WTCFM. Can't wait to find out what single it is and see the video!

Oxegen Festival in Ireland would be great but i highly, HIGHLY doubt it!
-
Wow!!! You sure told me! Not to be smart here but "singing over a backing track" and lip-syncing are two completely different things. True? Yes/No??? Its quite clear that during Irisdescent, the guys aren't even singing over the track, they're lip syncing and its quite obvious. Its a big difference between the two. Lip-syncing is predominately associated with pop acts such as britney or ashley simpson. I made the point quite a while back that its unlikely we'll hear Robot Boy performed anytime soon as the whole band recorded the track but like I've previously said and others have said too, apart from Chester, Mike and Phoenix, the rest of guys are probably far off from being comfortable singing live. I even get the impression that Phoenix still isn't that comfortable singing live. The only track he's previously had to sing on before ATS was released, is TLTGYA. I can't think of another that he's performed live on. EDIT: He's also sang on HHH (Thanks LPxDC) Now, in saying they seem to be lip-syncing on Iridescent, it does look like they are actually singing the "Oh-Oh's" on TC but its harder to tell personally. And just to finish off, personally I don't really care if the lip-sync cause its still early days performing ATS material. I know the guys are well capable of singing together live so I do hope they remove the lip-syncing sooner rather than later. After all, we go to concerts for that live experience!
-
Yeah, hopefully sync issues get fixed but otherwise, its great stuff. Love The Catalyst but hate the vocal effects when its done live. The sampling is unreal in some of their more recent performance. I laughed at the gang vocal part of Iridescent during the EMA in Spain. Chester was barely moving his lips, same with Phoenix and BBB may as well have been on the other side of the stage "singing" into Phoenix's mic! Ha...it was funny! Only Joe looks like he's really making the effort when singing. Its funny cause all the guys recorded gang vocals. They sound the same when performed live yet Rob doesn't sing!!! C'mon LP....quite the pop-music lip syncing crap!

Happy New Year All!!! Hope everyone has a kickass 2011 Best moment of the year for me...Release and subsequent love of ATS! I took a while but we're inseparable now and we hope to have many more happy moments together in 2011 Both me and ATS love all our kids equally, even our "special" little guy Robot Boy! I must again remind everyone just how sick and wild our most precious child Blackout is. He can be misunderstood by most when they first meet him but if you give him time and patience then....he will blow your f-in mind with his awesomeness!!!! I think I'm still drunk but you get my point!

Nice little interview!

Ha ha..we wish! New album in 2011, yeah, if he's referring to a new LPU album!
-
This! Just watched the LFY video which was great but I was wondering why quality was so poor for a pro-shot performance. Then I realised at the end that it was a recording of the real pro-shot which was playing on the dude's tv So we still haven't seen any of the actual real pro-shot in all of its glory...if you know what I mean!

Gimme gimme gimme...please!

Hope those who are going to a show enjoy the hell out of it! Prodigy and Pendulum as support = some high energy shows Should be insanely awesome! So thats what 21 shows confirmed, possibly 22 and maybe more to come. Just a thought but what if...what if LP decide to make each show as unique as possible??? Allow me to elaborate. Below is a list of songs we've never heard live, haven't been played in years or are yet to be played (ATS) or just some songs we f-in love! 1 - Across The Line 2 - APFMH 3 - Pretend to be 4 - What We Don't Know 5 - No Roads Left 6 - Not Alone 7 - By Myself 8 - Pale 9 - Halo 10 - Step Up/NL/Its Goin Down 11 - Blackbirds 12 - BLACKOUT 13 - BITS 14 - Robot Boy 15 - Figure.09 16 - She Couldn't 17 - QWERTY (Summersonic version ) 18 - I Have Not Begun 19 - Lockjaw 20 - High Voltage 21 - With You 22 - Reading My Eyes Now that's just some songs that popped into my head but lets think about this a second. A lot of folks seem to be going to multiple shows and are worried about setlist rotation or lack there of! What if LP picked one of the above songs to play at each show as sort of a 'special treat' for that specific show. Not only would that make the concert going experience that more memorable but it would also increase the interest and selling potential of DSP's as each show would have one unique/rare song associated with it. More DSP's sold = more $$$ in LP's pocket and subsequently in Pooch's pocket (can't forget Pooch) And on the flip side of things, as we LP fans seem to love complaining bout sh!t...we can still keep doing that in the form of...'Damn, I can't believe they played (insert song here) for those fans and we only got (insert song here)'. Just a crazy idea that popped into my head. Its 99% likely to never happen but just what if....what if!!!!
