Listening to the interview, Chester there MIGHT be a FEW shows early next year, and then he mentioned that LP's new album and the World tour later, so I feel like August is a good guess.

Also lets not forget that Chester is still touring with STP early next year too.

If I win another M&G I think I should get Chester some sort of stress reliever, like one of those squishy hand things lol. Good thing is that he sounded fine in the interview.

I'm stunned by this. If LP drops an album in the spring I'll be seriously blown away. They've been so quiet and I thought the same as Mark, they'd spend the beginning of 2014 in the studio and then start the PR for the 6th album.

Even if they aren't dropping the album in the spring, that's almost more surprising that they would suddenly do a world tour, not just some shows in Japan or LA, but a WORLD tour.

I hope Chester doesn't get worn out.

The EP will be out so I'm hoping to hear more of their thoughts on Same On the Inside, Tomorrow and Cry Cry.

Another video has been posted by Artisan News. I LOVE how cool the LP guys, Mike especially, have been about this. You can hear how grateful Dean is. Also Dean implied Mike was willing to help with STP.

I'm definitely going to try and get the best tickets I can. I wish there were some LP fans in Dallas I could go with. I hate going to shows alone.

Jay mentioned High Rise and they played Black Heart. It was a good performance, they sounded solid IMO. What did you guys expect? We knew it would be only one song aired. Lol.

I guess I didn't hear it. I don't know what I expected. Maybe a few words from Chester or one of the DeLeo brothers. Still it was a good performance and that's the important part.

Looks like it was just a quick performance of Black Heart. I'm not sure if Leno even mentioned the album, but instead just held up the album. :/

 

However, the band sounded great. I'm glad they did Black Heart. I can't wait to see someone else post the link because my stream wasn't the best quality.

I'd just like to have a longer version of Victimized. I was never a fan of the album version.

I just couldn't hear the "nothing cures the craving part" so thanks. Still have no idea what that part is when he gets really quiet and breathy before "Pull in you and throw you out of time".

I respect your opinion, but just no. LP is way better than STPWCB. I am a die-hard Chester fan but nothing Chester has done side project wise has compared with anything LP has released. Also, it won't influence the next LP album. Mike wouldn't let LP release music like this. LP has a way different style. LP requires way more aggressive vocals from Chester like his screaming, and these type of grungy vocals wouldn't work well in a lot of LP's settings. Also, just to play the devil's advocate here, I hope they make another LT. Because I'm sick of people bitching about it. When LP had just released ATS, people were begging for a LT style album. Then the band releases LT and all the fans love it at first, then hate on it, wanting another ATS. It's annoying. I always catch enough shit for being a die-hard MTM fan, so I'm just going to defend any album besides ATS just to somewhat troll LP fans. All of LP's albums are 100% perfect to me, so I don't really mind.

To me Living Things didn't have any replay power. I LOVE Linkin Park, but as a whole I'd say I would rather listen to High Rise than the 5 best songs off LT. And I don't really see STPWCB as a side project, but as Chester's other band. I think it's fair to compare the two. Though to be fair I guess the real comparison will be after a few months and see what I'm still listening too.

 

Also I really wasn't serious about the influence. I know Mike would never let that happen, but I really think this type of music really shows how great Chester's voice sounds. I really thought LT was lacking. I wasn't a fan of how unfinished a lot of the songs sounded (UIB, Victimized, Skin to Bone).

I tried to type all the lyrics. Can someone help with Cry Cry? I feel like I got the rest of the songs.

Same on the Inside is awesome. Chester sounds great and the melody is catchy. I see this being a really good radio song. The ending is really cool.

 

Listening to Cry Cry and it's as great as I had hoped! Definitely my new jam. 90sec preview didn't do it justice. Just beautiful.

 

Tomorrow is much better than what I heard in the 90sec preview. You'd think after the ATS previews I'd learn not to listen lol. Really great music in this one.

 

For me High Rise blows Living Things out of the water. I'm so glad Chester is able to make this type of music, and I honestly hope this somewhat influences the next LP album. Don't need another LT.

Also feel really bad my first reaction was just to be exasperated. I mean smashing it on Dean's guitar? Only Chester.

It's cool to see Chester in a new writing environment. They see to be a jam band, when we know LP is very much not.

 

The snippet of Cry Cry is just killing me. I want the EP so much!!!

 

I hope STP fans can appreciate the fact that Chester is really taking this seriously. And I'm glad to see the whole band seem so relaxed and happy. I can't imagine what it's been like with Scott recently.

I really like it. Honestly didn't see it didn't sound overproduced to me like DBS. I mean DBS was really a disaster production wise.

 

This is really my type of music, and I see them being really successful with it. Plus Chester seems to be truly enjoying himself.

 

Personally I can't wait to be able to hear the whole EP. I really love how Same On the Inside is sounding, and Cry Cry sounded beautiful to me. Then Tomorrow was slower than I imagined, but still good.

 

I'm excited lol.

The clip of "Same On The Inside" reminds me of Tiny Music…Songs From The Vatican Gift Shop and Purple instrumentally (with a hint of Talk Show), the song sounds like a definite hit and the 90 second clip is the best thing I've heard so far from the new incarnation of STP. The DeLeos' riff that leads into the chorus soars. Chester Bennington sings during the memorable chorus, "When do we stop pretending we're all the same on the inside?" The clip shows the song has all of the makings of STP pop rock bliss.

 

On the "Tomorrow" clip Dean DeLeo channels Jimmy Page but Bennington's melody gives the song a modern feel. Bennington sings, "Tomorrow's just a dream I can't contain/It's like a fire I can't contain/And though it seems so far away/It's just a day a lonely day."

 

"Cry Cry" has a very southern vibe during the verses, where Bennington channels Scott Weiland circa Velvet Revolver vocally, with some No. 4 melodic sensibilities.

I really love this. It grabbed me faster than OOT, but I'm still not sure which one I like better. I'm stupidly excited for the EP, especially Cry, Cry.

 

Chester and the guys nailed the live version. This is definitely incentive to try and make it to the Houston show.

STP tweeted this picture. Looks like it'll be the cover art for Black Heart. I think it fits the vibe of the song perfectly.

As for the song, I LOVE IT! Rock is where Chester's voice shines. Whoever is producing knows what he/she is doing because they took advantage that Chester can actually SING and let his raw voice come through. Oh this is going to be on repeat on my iPod probably till I get the EP.
