Most of the tweets in English (idk what the other languages were saying) were just poking fun. There was only one person who I thought went to far.
I do wish they hadn't advertised it as "live footage from SSMF" if it really wasn't that, but just them putting together a package.
If the only purpose was to put together the package I don't know why they streamed it at all. I'm glad we got the little we did, but I just don't know why they did it. It all seemed very unorganized.

Really cool of Lorenzo to give us setlist updates!
-
Chester came in the crowd for What I've Done. x
-
Serious questions.
Do you think Linkin Park is killing it?
Does Doug have this covered from up high AND down low?
Is the crowd thousands deep?
-
Do you think the camera guys knows we can see what he's doing?
Sad to see that from the little crowd shots we've seen that they don't seem to be moving. Just a bunch of cameras.
-
This livestream isn't even worth recording lmao
Nope. Only thing it's good for is for us to at least get the main setlist.
I do wish the audio would get better. It gets loud at some points, but now it's too quiet.
-
I can barely hear because of the other music. :S

I remember sitting in the way back for PR08 and the sound was awesome, so hopefully we'll get it.
They're 4 mins late.

Some updates:
And there was some interesting commentary on Twitter about DSPs....I'll get a thread going after the show with that stuff. Pooch and Dylan both said the DSPs basically are done for right now and to ask the band. Mike replied and said ask Lorenzo, he isn't sure what the deal is.
Oh man. I wonder why they might stop DSPs? Maybe not enough people buying them? Maybe if Lorenzo is involved DSPs will have to do something with LPU? IDK the thread for this will be interesting.
Also curious for what the setlist will be. Also curious if Chester will do something with Julien K.

Wonder if RME over BIO is the only thing they'll do. If so then I won't feel as bad for not being able to make it.
Seriously though, I do hope they do the full song. There has been a CRAZY amount of hype for them just to add a few lines in a bridge. But I won't really be surprised if that is all they do.
And Maik I hope your dad feels better!

I think Chester contributes more than we think, even if he's just validating Mike's lyrics! Personally I think (or like to think) they work on them together, bouncing off each other and sculpting them into what we hear i.e. Chester brings the lyric idea and Mike constructs the sentences.
Anyway, I'm super excited for the STP EP, I'm a big fan of them anyway so I'm hoping they'll come to the UK (where they were never that big so it'll be purely LP fans!). I'm finding the Chester hate on the STP facebook page hard to stomach but I keep clicking the comments like an idiot.
I like the grungier side of Chester I just hope he doesn't try to imitate Scott, that's a little annoying.
Facebook is the land of headaches. I'll argue if I'm already in a bad mood, but most of the people commenting are trolls.
And yeah I'm not a fan of how everyone seems to think Chester doesn't do much. Of course Mike had a hand on everything, but not all the ideas are his. We know the band comes up with their own bits and pieces, and I'm sure Chester does his fair bit of writing the lyrics. I don't believe for one second that Mike does ALL the lyrics, or that Chester only helped on Catalyst and New Divide. We haven't had a good making of video since MTM, and all the stuff before that seemed to say that Mike and Chester had a pretty equal relationship. Where Mike becomes LP is when he helps with the guitar/bass/samples/drums/art/mixing etc. And like someone said, that's his production credit.
tl;dr Chester deserves more credit than you guys give him because you don't know exactly how much Mike really does.

I might not be a fan of another contest, but I do have LPU membership so I'll definitely be voting for Astat!
-
This is not replacing the whole CD. Don't worry-
Your song may even end up on the upcoming LPU13 album due out later this year.
I didn't think it was going to be a collab cd, but I feel like at this point I've reached my wits end with contests/collabs. Catalyst remix contest, LIVING THINGS "remixes", Lost in the Echo remix contest, COG tshirt contest, MFR tshirt contest, etc.
Yeah I'm complaining, but I've never claimed to be someone who thinks everything LP does is OMGWONDERFULFANTASTIC. Just not me.
I just want Chester to do an acoustic cd for LPU13. And if not that then fall back on the reliable demos (more Meteora heavy if possible).
-
STP is holding up the next LP album.
(Sorry, had to do it.)
LIVING THINGS proved the albums need to be held up. And I'm fine if Chester is doing a more grunge rock with STP. Hoping they keep his voice raw and underproduced! (Forever bitter at Howard Benson)

- In regards to how they write new music, most STP songs start out on acoustic guitars and evolve from there.
- STP is interested in making a full album, but with time constraints with Linkin Park, family and touring, it's difficult to make a full record right now.
I cannot explain how EXCITED I am about all of this. I really liked Out of Time, and if they did that while trying to hide out and in short time period, then I can't wait to hear what the EP will sound like.
I can already tell I'm not going to be happy with only 5 songs, but will be wanting a full album ASAP.
- There are songs that they weren't able to play live with Scott Weiland that they will play live with Chester.
hahahahahaha
-
Every time I see "with Chester Bennington" it annoys the shit out of me.
If you guys saw the sh*t storm the whole name thing is causing right now with STP fans, you'd get why they're billing this way. I totally agree it should just be STP because Chester is their lead singer, but STP is trying to find a bit of middle ground with fans.

How far is Midland from you?
Maybe with that Biloxi date in November they'll add some more shows, like Houston and Dallas or something. Texas is such a huge state that bands typically play tons of shows there.
4+ hours from Dallas. But I don't have a car, so it complicates things.
-
I was so excited to see they announced a tour, but none of those dates are close. I have no idea why they choose Midland of all places in Texas.
IDK how I'd make it to any of these shows
However, SO EXCITED for the EP!!
-
why?
It just seemed random. I mean for STP, who's trying to get back on their feet after the whole mess with Scott to do one of their first big shows with Chester in Japan? It just seemed off. Like I didn't think STP had that big of an international presence.
-
Interesting. I wonder if this means that the door is still open for a new producer or maybe for Mike to try it only.
Nice that Mike answered.
-
I'm quite surprised by this date, but I'm still holding out hope for a Texas show. Pretty cool that after 20 years they can go back and headline this festival.
-
I think that was a really good point Skipees brought up. LT didn't have a "sound" to it like all the other albums. The songs were obviously Linkin Park, but to me a lot of them felt more like Demos then actually songs.
I was VERY harsh on Victimized when it was released, and I had hoped it would grow on me, but the only good thing about it was when I heard it live, and even then I just wanted more QWERTY. I do really like COG, POWERLESS, and I'LL BE GONE. ROADS UNTRAVELED could have been SO EPIC if they had just given it more time. Still not a huge fan of UIB, In My Remains, Skin to Bone, and the rest. And I flat out don't like Burn It Down. It got way overplayed and I didn't like it live.
So yeah hoping for more unique style with the next album, or at least or more finished product.
-
Motley Crue is doing a bunch of shows in Vegas after this so I don't think they'll be touring with them. I do hope that they'll do a show closer to Dallas. The Venue isn't my type, I was hoping to go to just a STP show, and it'll be a pain to get there, but I am considering it.
Though I find it funny that all the people complaining that their using the STP name without the "with Chester" are now complaining that they're using the STP name at all. I hope I'm never so bitter over a band name.
-
and yes I am super excited for this! and hope i have the chance for M&G session. i'm part of LPU! but then no official words from them yet isnt it?
Official word just announced about the show. LPU Pre-Sale tickets on Wednesday, June 19. If there's a M&G it will probably show up on the site then.

Here's a very short snippet of LITE so they definitely played it.
I wish they had played RME in full, but oh well it's not like I was there. The important part is if the band enjoyed themselves and it seemed like Mike certainly was. I've only seen good tweets about the show (even if they're all spelled Lincoln Park )
