I have to listen again for a rank, but so far a no skip album from my listening party.
Comfortably can say over OML. But idk the rest yet. Won't be my top 4, but really a great job by them.
I think they played to a safer sound which is smart.

I think no one every could have replaced Chester. He was a one in a lifetime voice.
So with that in mind I'm just taking this as it is. The new song is nice. I love the guitar on it. I am not savvy enough to describe music, but it had that Mike Shinoda/Linkin Park sound.
I'll be ticketing tomorrow and then see how this album feels in November

Already crying lol
Removing the sheets from their instruments ugh

Leaving work early soon so I can catch my flight at 6am! Gonna land 8am local time so I’ll finally have a chance to explore LA solo before the show!
Be careful of the heat. It is no joke.

Pre show post 🥹
The stream starts the min I'm supposed to clock out of work.
I'm also going to a concert so tomorrow will be interesting lol

Now I wanna clown and say after all the speculation they might continue as 5.
I'm still going to mentally prepare for a new vocalist. Looks like Mike in that purple/pink Pic.

Albums are always released on Fridays, Singles can be released on various different days and releasing singles on a Thursday is a growing trend.
Billboard tracking is Friday - Thursday, so singles also usually are on Friday.
Considering they're pushing the VMAs, I imagine they would do a traditional Friday drop to maximize Billboard points.

The irony is, if Adam is back in LP's management full time, part of this might even have been his doing...
Tbh it probably was.
But Adam has earned about 10 passes from me. So all is good lol
This literally made my day.

Adam being back has me on the hype train.
He isn't back for something small. This is his job.
I'm so happy. Everything ran so smooth under Adam with LPU. I'll pretend this was the end of the countdown announcement lol

So member wise Twenty one pilots would be perfect for LP. A singer replacing Chester and a drummer replacing Rob. Also they're currently on world tour, around that time they're in Texas but they're free on September 5th. It's not that much of a stretch...
Got a LPU email so I don't know that they would do an event in LA and announce in Texas.
TOP and LP also never quite made sense to me. No reason for TOP to change what they're doing. I only liked it because I am in Texas and could have gone lol

Well, now we have something ladies and gentleman.
This should have been at the end of the timer.
Although again I think the timer should have just been for Sept 5th originally.
Sleeping on it, I still think it wasn't rolled out right and still support people upset
For me, I was exhausted by the "you did this to yourself expecting anything" replies. So I'm just waiting for an announcement from Rolling Stone or something. I can't take part in whatever codes or games they want to do. I hope the new and old fans enjoy it.
If they actually are coming back then I will pop in again, but they totally soured this for me by not catering to the hardcore fans who are very emotional about a potential comeback.

A lot of people thought they were going to a part of something really special today with thousands of other people who care as much as them. The thought of them coming back is a very emotional thing for all of us, and for years we were uncertain about whether or not it would ever happen again. While I’m not personally super upset about it, I think they made the wrong call. Today should’ve been a fun day that brought everyone in the community together for the first time in years.
This was perfectly put. There's people from this website and just people I've met in line at shows and keep in touch with on Facebook, that I've been reconnecting with. Today was supposed to by my personal LP community coming together and being with each other whatever this turned out to be.
I not going to stop supporting the guys because of this. But I wish they had been kinder to us diehards. Oasis really is the perfect example.

Long time fan here. Agree 100%
Also, the LP Discord is a dumpster fire. As are most communities when band let fans run things. They really need someone on staff to run it. It’s not welcoming at all.
I have to go to my BTS and sports discords to have a normal convo on LP.
I tried to post there and give it a chance but today was really my last straw. I'm glad for LPLive and other communities.

some people even move their schedule from their job to be able to witness the countdown to zero.
it isn't like we are in high-school
I know lp staff check our forum so fuck you for making fun of us and wasting our time.
The discord has been a cesspit of mods making fun of people upset how this is handled. Idk if they just got post 2017 people to mod or what.
Even reddit is handling it better. And LPLive I knew would have people with reasonable takes.
It is fine is people are having fun with this. But there are a lot of us who are not. And that's really sad. And everyone I've seen who isn't are the long time fans. Not the post 2017 ones.

I wasnt attacking you man.
I know, im having a bit of fun and being sarcastic.
Your meant to support them no matter what guys !! Hillarious that the marketing campaign has made people be this mad.
We are not children. I've been a fan since before MTM. We can criticize the band or the promo team when warranted.
I've been saying I support them continuing to use the name, to continue with another singer.
But not giving us fans who have been in mourning and then lost the band for 7yrs a little grace by taking away this suspense... People are allowed to be upset how this is being handled.

This makes so much sense to me. Such a radio friendly song. I hope it blows up!

fuck, the closest show I'll get is a 5 hour flight away.... on mid-week. I really want to go, but i'm 80% sure I won't be able to make it
Look at the other shows. Sometimes it can be cheaper to fly to somewhere further away.

Any details on the VIP package? Can't find anything.

I've only listened once in full, listened to the EP a bunch and Ghosts a couple of times before the album dropped.
First impression is to be impressed. It was only a year ago OML came out. And Mike didn't start working on this till July/August. It is truly stunning the production value and quality for such a short time. Mike is amazing.
I pretty much liked everything. I haven't ever really enjoyed other vocalist collabs except Rakim. Was pleasantly surprised by K Flay and of course Chino killed it. Need an edited version of Lift off without MGK. And the other collabs I wouldn't miss if they were gone.
Thats really the only part I didn't like. I need to listen to this a lot more before I do rankings. No immediate favorite either.
Overall thrilled for Mike. But this one will of course have a bittersweet cloud overhead.

I didn't realize the visuals were going to be music videos. Listened on Spotify on my way to work and that wasn't a smart decision. Mike's anger and sadness definitely pulled at my heart. I started to cry with the voice mails and didn't stop until the end of Over Again.
For how I'm feeling now, Over Again is the best for me. I was lucky enough to go to the Hollywood Bowl show and I am still amazed at Mike's and the whole band, being able to get through without breaking down on stage.
When I go home I'll watch the videos and probably have another good cry.
I think we all knew in our hearts that Mike would continue creating music. As a personal preference I'd love either his solo work or any future LP work to sound more like Watching As I Fall.

FYI you have to buy a minimum of 2 tickets if you try for box seats. Clear your cache/history/cookies and try again. Or change browsers. Notes from someone who took 5 hours to get a ticket.
Luckily was still able to get TERR2 so I'll see you there.

Some FYIs from Lorenzo,
- Credit card holder must be present
- No VIP Packages or Early Entry
- Pit will be filled with chairs
- 2 ticket limit per code
- Asked people not to share codes, but didn't say anything else
They are being very strict for this show. Be wise about this.

I really liked Good Things Go. It felt like a song that was more of a new direction vs the others that felt like a nod to the past.
