  1. I was at this show too. The 99 bottles of beer moment was fucking awesome and funny. I remember when everyone kept walking by and asking who was performing and one person said Lady Gaga and the person believed us. So funny. Haha. I waited in like for like 10 hours that day just to get front row, it was crazy. Great show, too. So much fun. And the only show ever to have The Requiem/The Radiance/New Divide, as well as the debut of Wretches and some other ATS songs. Good show, I had so much fun. Did we ever meet at the show?

I don't think so. Once I got into the venue I went straight for a spot and all 10 people I had been talking too went in different directions from me. lol

Though it's funny because a guy I met at the 2011 MSG show was standing a few people away from me in line at Best Buy, but we never talked. You and I were also probably right by each other because I totally remember the Lady Gaga thing. I was right beside the sidewalk barricade.

  2. if they start recording after the Asian Tour, what can be the reason not to release it in 2014?

Just experience says that they're a bit slow, and that when they go fast we get LIVING THINGS. So I'd rather them take their time.

So I think it'll be later 2014, but I wouldn't be shocked if it got pushed back.

  3. Where's the love for Stuttgart 2009?

You had Points of Authority with High Voltage/Bloc Party intro and RME outro

What I've Done with AMBO intro

Mike's keyboard transition between Numb and Breaking the Habit

    Breaking the Habit acapella outro

Kwling intro with HHH before Crawling

    Rob's drum solo during BIO

    Rock AM Ring 2004

This one is so hard to argue with. Crazy amounts of energy and a fantastic crowd.

    Best Buy 2010

My first LP show where I met all my amazing LP friends. This show was awesome, from singing 99 bottles of beer (the whole thing!) while in line, to the actual show which was fantastic. This show is why I'll always wonder why the hell they dropped Wretches and Kings because Chester owned it. And it was really cool to hear people having the lyrics down for the ATS songs, even though it dropped that morning.

    MSG 2011

Walking into MSG there's some sort of energy there. It was a really loud show, regardless of what the dumb Fuse video showed. Chester and Mike came down to the crowd. My first time getting barricade (even if it was only for the last 5 songs). First time I met the band. Got to hang out with everyone from the Best Buy show. I just remember the band seeming to really enjoy themselves.

    Houston 2008

This one for more personal reasons. My first LP show. Chester sang The Outsider which is one of my favorite covers he's done. He also sang with Chris Cornell, "Hunger Strike" which was amazing. I know a lot of people weren't fans of the supporting bands, but 10 Years, Armor for Sleep, Street Drum Core, The Bravery, Ashes Divide, and Chris all brought it in 100+ degree weather when the crowd was barely hanging on during the day. Plus the Woodlands is a fantastic arena.

My favorites are more shows I went to, but its hard for me to judge shows I didn't. RAR was just too obvious of an epic show not to be here, and Stuttgart had one of my favorite setlists.

  4. I will attend this to ask if LP will play something special for the Sunset Strip show.

Good question. I hope he answers. I might be able to go, and if they decide to pull out RME or something then I will hitchhike there if I must lol.

  5. Stone Temple Pilots is going to headline the 2013 Stars of the Season Fundraiser benefiting the Cardon Children's Medical Center, as Stars of the Season just announced on their facebook.

Chester and his wife Talinda, have both been heavily involved in this Medical Center, Chester by visiting the children and performing at the fundraiser, and Talinda by visiting with their therapy dog Bruiser and being on the board for the fundraiser to help organize it.

According to this article, it will be his fourth year to headline the event.

[Three] years ago, Bennington shared the benefit's spotlight with Art Alexakis of Everclear. [Two years ago], his other musical project, Dead by Sunrise, performed. [Last year], he assembled an all-star band with the Cult's Billy Morrison, Billy Idol guitarist Steve Stevens, Elias Andras of Dead by Sunrise and Robbie Merrill of Godsmack.

The show will be on October 26, 2013.

  6. My biggest LP NOOB moment was singing the wrong lyrics to Leave Out All the Rest. It took me a while to put all the MTM songs on my mp3, so I never looked at the jacket for the what the proper lyrics were. I can't remember what I thought they were, but I remember is was "I shed by I'm me" that I couldn't get lol. I think it was something like "of shit that I made" :P

I believed that the "Hardly Breathe" track by Hydroponikz which "featured" Chester was a real legit song, not a fan made thing. although that said, when and why were his parts to that "song" recorded? they must have been intended for use somewhere...?

that and when I first heard Mmmm Cookies! i deleted the tracks because I thought I'd downloaded another band's EP by accident.

My second NOOB moment just happened 2 minutes ago when I read this. Wow. It was a really fantastic fanmade mix. I always got confused when the Handsome Boy Modeling Track becomes involved. I thought Hardly Breathe was just a section of that big track. Oops.

  7. So apparently Mall is based on a novel. I found the excerpt and WHOA

From the award-winning avatar of contemporary urban theater and author of such modern classics as Talk Radio and Drinking in America comes this outrageous novel about five suburbanites whose lives intersect in one violent and life-altering night -- at the local mall. Mal, a thirtysomething speed freak, shoots his mother, torches his house, and heads to the local mall with a sack of weapons and a plan for more mayhem. Danny, a voyeuristic businessman with a fetish for young underwear models, is caught by mall security peeking in dressing rooms at JCPenney. Jeff, a teenager with existential troubles, drops acid and departs on a philosophical nightmare. Donna, a hungry, unsettled housewife, is on the lookout for a one-night stand. Michel, a Haitian immigrant and mall security guard, seeks salvation. All long for a kind of satisfaction, and this longing leads them to the modern plaza of possibility, the shopping mall, where their appetites converge in explosive ways. Satirical and provocative, Mall is an eye-opening look at suburban life and the idea of "normalcy." In this, his first novel, Eric Bogosian delivers a dark, hilarious and biting commentary on an American culture fraught with sex, drugs, violence and congested thinking.

  8. I'm preparing for this thread to turn into a "X is holding up the album" list

At this point I don't care if STP holds up the next album. I'm so excited to hear Chester singing this kind of music without any electronic elements. Plus STP fans have been saying that they think the next STP album could drop this year. Apparently they don't takes as much time as LP :P

Also because of that^ I don't think there's anyway LP releases an album this year. If they did I would be wary that it would be worse then LIVING THINGS. I'd rather they take their time and give us another MTM/ATS mixed record, since a Hybrid Theory/ATS record really didn't have the staying power I thought I might. My predication is late 2014 for the 6th studio album.

And like people have said, we still have the Mall and if all else fails LPU13.

  9. Again I was just curious. I honestly don't think this would happen anytime soon because the band is so solid.

I think Mike is Linkin Park and they would never be the same without him, but I think Brad as a co-founder has some rights to the name, and Chester to an extent since they didn't really go anywhere till he became the singer, and the rest of the group having been their since day one.

So I don't think I'd freak out about the name so much if they miraculously found a half way decent replacement for Mike. Would it ever be the old Linkin Park sound? No. But do I think the other 5 members deserve to use the name? Yeah.

But in reality I think if Mike left they probably wouldn't even try to continue as Linkin Park.

Remember this is all just HYPOTHETICAL!

  10. Ok so I've been keeping an eye on the STP fans reaction to this new move of Chester now being the official frontman for STP, and it seems their biggest problem is that they won't change the name.

I don't know too much about STP, but from what I read Scott (lead singer of STP) was heavy into drugs, stopped singing well, and was unreliable in shows and even showing up 2 hours late. I also saw someone say that the remaining 3 members of the band would record in one studio and Scott in another. So obviously they have problems, and so Scott was fired in March.

I've read A LOT about this and it made me curious about LP. This is just a little HYPOTHETICAL curiosity.

If Chester left the band, do you think they should still be called Linkin Park with whatever new singer they got?

If Mike left the band, do you think they should still be called Linkin Park with whatever new rapper/guitarist they got?

I'm pretty sure I know what you guys would say about Joe, Rob, Brad, and Dave.

Just curious because the STP fans are so incensed about it. Personally, I think regardless of who left, if the majority members are there then they should get the name. I know Linkin Park is Mike's baby, but LP does a lot more equal sharing of the work (with their voting methods and whatnot) then most bands.

Just curious what you guys thought.

    Full Post from Adam Here.

Who's thinking about going? Summits are an awesome experience for any LP fan!

  12. They should drop BID if it's causing him problems. I never liked it live. I think because it got WAY overplayed before the album released.

Someone correct me on this, but I feel like I remember an interview where Chester was talking about his screaming, and how he doesn't do it as much because his screaming was a product of all the crap that had happened to him. That's why there's less of it in the recent albums.

Also please LESS ELECTRONIC in the 6th album. PLEASE.

I also think it might be time to drop Rubin, and get someone new or let Mike finally take over.

  13. I still wanna know what this means: "@phoenixlp Anyone going to be in the Hollywood area today"

    And then Adam answered: "@heydudeimadam @phoenixlp i will!! #soldierforlyf"

It would be cool if they were doing something, since Adam said this show was a big deal.

Edit: Here's my answer: @linkinpark LA fans: want to help us promote our Sunset Blvd. show today? Come hang out with us this afternoon.

  14. I think that i can confirm this. Megumi and Jim Digby are working with Stone Temple Pilots.

They are showing pictures from last night and tonight's shows.

I feel like Digby must be. He said earlier things had been quiet because he'd been working on it.

Ok checked Megumi's twitter and she might be involved too. Wouldn't STP have their own people?

  15. Quite an intersting conversation here. But don't forget that everything is time consuming so either STP & LP or STP & maybe FM which takes us to another long break from LP (either good for the band or not, as they have mentioned in err ATS? era that they would like to release a new album every 2 years? Something like that, if I got it wrong, sorry :P ) Don't forget to add promotion, TV appearances etc. + world tours (LP, FM cause I don't think STP would go outside USA). Impossibru. And this takes us where? Yes, the global why-no-insert.country.name.here crying. IMHO it would be awesome to get a proper US->EU->Asia->EU->US tours again. Is there any chance that due to STP "plans" for an album and MAYBE a tour the new LP album will be released late 2014/early 2015?

I think it's too early to tell about timelines. And LP did say 2 year/18months, but we know how LP is about timelines.

However, who knows if LP will go back to the US-EU-Asia-EU-US tour again. They seemed really happy with the way the last tour went.

  16. Do Julien-K still talk to Chester at all? Chester said last night in that interview that he ''did Dead By Sunrise'' and that he is now the lead singer of TWO awesome bands, I am thinking that maybe DBS is dead and they won't make music again.

This is interesting. Being the front man of two very successful bands will be crazy time consuming, so I it could be the end of DBS.

Which to be honest I guess I'm not too sad about. I want more Chester stuff, not the warped thing Julien K and Howard Benson turned DBS into. But I remember someone from Julien K saying they were still writing stuff for DBS, so idk. Certainly not expecting anything from DBS in the near future.

Also I doubt Mike will do anything related to Fort Minor. His most recent answer to any FM questions has been that he's channeling everything into LP right now. But I think this proves that if Mike wanted to do FM that the band would probably let him.

  17. I've barely seen anyone on LPL say anything about Chester leaving LP. I made a preemptive comment on how I highly doubt it would happen, as others have.

I think it's a bit telling because LPL has always been ready to speak their minds, rather than being pandering fans who think everything the band does is rainbows and sunshine. So if we thought this was a move for Chester to leave, we'd say so.

I think this is just a brilliant move by STP. Some of their fans are hoping this will be a kind of intervention with Scott. If by the off chance it is, then who else could they have picked to do this more successfully? Chester is a FAN of STP so I imagine if Scott wanted back in then he'd bow out gracefully. And while the other members were laughing at Scott, Chester made a point to say how much he admired him and wished him the best.

And on the more likely chance it has nothing to do with Scott, then we get to here Chester do some more rock, which as a DBS/GD fan I'm THRILLED with.

  18. FUCK

lol sorry I couldn't post it faster :P

I felt like during the interview that Chester was bursting to say that "HELL YES I'M THE NEW SINGER OF STONE TEMPLE PILOTS!" And then at the end he didn't seem to want to get Scott upset, even though the other band members didn't seem to mind.

It is a bit of a different matter now that we know he is the officially the lead singer of STP, but I'm going to trust Chester. I highly doubt he'd screw us over, and he keeps saying in interviews that LP is his number one priority.

I think I'll save my money for Sunset Strip and check out STP if they hit Dallas.

Also whoever said LP would tour with STP. Chester had a hard enough time doing the one show, I can't imagine him doing both. Though I haven't heard many STP songs, they seem to be easier on his throat, but I still doubt they'd do a Fort Minor/LP type thing with STP and LP.
