  1. Wow woke up to 15 texts on my phone lol. I can't believe they did all of this without it getting leaked.

Basically so happy that everyone here is happy for Chester. We know he's been a STP fan since he was a kid, so this is HUGE for him. I'm so happy for him!!

I love DBS so much, more for the potential of hearing Chester do more rock stuff (because I think Julien K/Benson ruined OOA) then the actual stuff they've put out so far. Chester working with the remaining members of STP I think will give him that opportunity and it will produce some amazing stuff. Out of Time is really good.

And I looked on BelowEmpty and I think they're entitled to be pissed/not embrace Chester. I know for sure I'd be pissed at first if LP did the same. But you can see more people coming around to the idea. I hope someone can go to the Mountain View show and report a setlist.

  2. The rumor I've heard is that as of right now, they have studio time booked until summer 2014. Who knows what that exactly means, but I assume it means they plan on recording for the rest of 2013 at the very least and likely a good part of the beginning of next year.

I think Asia is a one-off tour before they go back to the studio. But with all this studio time before August, I think it's very possible that they'll play a new song in August.

This is the best description of LIVING THINGS I've heard yet. I always have a hard time trying to explain why I don't like LT at the end of the day, and this is exactly what I mean. The replay value just isn't there. Don Gilmore's comment about Meteora songs having the same impact the first time you hear it versus the 100th time "for the little kid in Cleveland" is very true about that album. Lying From You, Don't Stay, From The Inside, Figure.09, etc all hit you in the face every time you hear it. LT is not nearly as epic since I tend to skip most every song when I try to listen to it. Only 2-3 on there I listen to continually. Even ATS and all other albums by LP I tend to listen to just about every song and LT is the first one where I find the replay value is very low, like you said.

I agree. I really did like LIVING THINGS when it first came out, but a lot of the songs like Burn It Down and Lies Greed and Misery, I continually skip on my iPod whereas when ATS Full Experience comes on I listen to the whole thing.

I'd still like to hear more LT live because most of my favorite songs weren't played, but new music would be nice. I think LT has now dropped to my least favorite album. Hoping this 6th album is different, which from the interview if SEEMS like it, but as Mike said about QWERTY we really won't know till we hear it.

I think it's interesting that Joe said they're not doing their usual melody and then lyrics method.

Perhaps now is the time for Mike to step up and produce the album himself.

Also "You can never really put a timeline on it". lol more like the band has a problem sticking to the timelines they set. We'll see if they can release an album as quickly as they seem to want.

  3. What exactly does that mean?

And I actually am going to be buying a LPU ticket for this because I want to go. I have family in CA and we may be going. If so, I can't wait.

I assume that means that tickets will be at the Will Call window instead of being mailed, so you have to pick them up at the venue.

The LPU section sounds great. Just wish I had the money to go.

  4. Am I the only one who loves COG live? I think it sounds awesome. My favorite performance of it is from the VGA's, but the other rips I have are great as well. I wish we got a DSP rip of it.

I am. Vegas was SO MUCH better then the other live versions I had heard. Though I'd drop it for something faster.

  5. Given Up - No More Sorrow

Burn It Down - I'll Be Gone

    LGM - Blackout

    New Divide- Wretches and Kings

Really would love to see Wretches and Kings back in the setlist. I only got to see it in NY, but WOW did Chester go off during that song. So much energy. I have no idea why they dropped it.

  6. Pooch did say they have the DSP? I always wondered this. It was definitely a great show, and I really do wish we got the DSP for it. I was front row and the band was spot on. Cool little set, too. I think still to this day, the only show that opened with The Requiem/The Radiance/New Divide. I know they opened with The Requiem/New Divide before, but never with The Radiance.

I can't remember when, but I think he said it. I do remember for sure he said he didn't think LP would ever release it. But yeah with the album version of The Radiance, and just personally how much I enjoyed the show in general, I'd love to have a proshot/DSP of this. But I think the older stuff is more likely.

  7. These all sound awesome, especially the Webster Hall footage. I'd love for a Pre Orlando/Xero show.

Though I will say my personal Holy Grail will forever be the ATS Release Show in New York. It kills me that Pooch said they have the DSP, but LP just didn't release it.

  8. I don't think I could add anything dealing with demos. All I really want is a full b-side from Meteora.

And to say something different, I'd LOVE an acoustic cd. Not the ones we had before like My December and Pushing Me Away, but others.

  9. I'm surprised they didn't extend the Australia / NZ leg to Asia to be honest.

    Seriously that's what I thought they'd do.

I hope if there are more shows, that'll mean that they might play more of LT. Though since Asia hasn't gotten any of the new LT stuff (not counting those two promo shows) I'm not very hopeful.

  10. From LP.com:

Linkin Park has added a show at Taipei Arena in Taipei, Taiwan on August 17. LP Underground members will have access to pre-sale tickets starting April 17 at 12 pm (local time) at LPUnderground.com. Tickets go on sale to the general public on April 18 at 12 pm (local time).

In addition to pre-sale tickets, members of the LP Underground, Linkin Park's official fan club, have opportunities for meet & greets with Linkin Park, early entry at shows, access to the members-only website and more. Visit LPUnderground.com to join today.

The Last time Linkin Park was in Taipei was September 19th, 2011. Another Asian show to add to the Summer Sonic shows in Japan.

Do you think they'll add more shows?

  11. I don't consider a live DVD to be good on the basis of bonuses. RTR's "extra" parts of the set at the end is just annoying, why not put the whole show as one continuous video? same goes for the CD, I understand space constraints on a disc, but... yeah, having to buy the DSP so you can have the whole show is pretty shoddy.

RTR not being a continuous show makes me so pissed. And they took out some of the best songs.

I mean I like the DSPs more then most of the DVD audio because I like to hear how loud the crowd was, so I'd probably get both if they did a US DVD. However, it is extremely annoying that they can't seem to put it all on one disc or even give us two discs with all the audio.

It is sad to see how LP doesn't seem to care anymore when you compare Frat Party to Live in Berlin, or even RTR.

I don't think asking for extras on a DVD is too much.

  12. Given past history with this event, I'd say there's a good chance Chester winds up performing at least one song.

I hope that a LPU member can snag a video if this happens. Chester's always sounds great at this events.

Besides that though, it's pretty cool that Chester is getting this award. :)

  13. I feel like this will just turn into favorite shows, not venues haha.

lol I tried not to do that in my answer.

What do you guys consider a good venue? I like getting pit tickets, so I'll usually be hanging outside the venue a lot and barely see the inside when I sprint to the pit :P

But things like security, food/bathroom nearby, comfortable place to sit (if you can sit), how organized the venue is about WHERE to line up, the stage (intimate or not), and I guess if you get seats you'll wonder about maybe food inside the venue and how well you can see from the seats.

Planet Hollywood was a HORRIBLE venue because even though food/bathroom was close and we were inside, we had to stand the whole time (14hrs for me) and then they messed up pit entrance so people who were there only a few hours got in front of those who were in front of me. Saying that Vegas was one of my favorite SHOWS performance wise.

So what do you guys like about a venue, or do you not care?

  14. Based on shows I've actually been too my favorite venues have been: The Woodlands Pavilion (beautiful venue and great sound), Madison Sqaure Garden (because it's MSG), Toyota Center (great security and a lovely hotel nearby for bathroom needs), and Best Buy Theater (small venue, food everywhere, great spot)

Least favorite: Gexa Energy Pavilion (dirty and unorganized), Planet Hollywood (would not let us sit and very unorganized) and Jones Beach (no pit section).

From proshots and stuff, I'd love to go to a Rock am Ring show or a South American show. Milton Keyes had a cool looking venue too.

  15. Adios to a USA tour until like mid 2014 or later. Damn.

Really fooled us with the clues :/

Yeah. Funny to see most of the comments on the HCT FB page are negative. Bad marketing choice alienating fans, but I guess most fans who would see LP/Blink/New Found Glory, wouldn't see Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson anyways.

And they're playing the Gexa here in Dallas again so I'm glad for the skip. Lame venue. I'll have a good cash pile for the 2014 tour. (please let their be a 2014 tour)

  16. Yay, they won't be touring so we will get a new album soon

    lol

it's a shame that they only played half of the album

why would you record songs that you won't perform? lol

This. Especially since Mike said the purpose of Living Things was that the songs were meant to be played live. I guess they could play the other HALF of the album in Japan. I just wanna hear it live. Let them do another AOL Sessions like show.

TBH I think I'd rather they take a break and tour the rest of LT then go back to the studio for the 6th album. It seems ridiculously fast considering LT isn't even a year old yet.

  17. How far in advance does LP's crew (other than the people involved directly in booking the shows) find out about tour plans anyway? HCT would still be 4-5 months away at this point. I would assume Adam is normally one of the first people to know, but I don't know how far out that is.

I had hoped that someone had an idea about this. Because maybe LP didn't know in Feb when they did Vegas that they might do HCT later this year. But as of now both Adam and Sean either don't know, or can't tell.
