  1. That's so strange that someone would get all of Chester's tattoos, especially the ones of his family. And I think Chester was more upset at the fact that only reason that people would get similar tattoos to him is that he thinks there should be a deeper meaning to it.

Good article though. I always did wonder if he thought about actually doing some tattooing himself. That is crazy pressure to know that your work will last a long time, potentially the rest of that person's life.

I did laugh at the last bit. I couldn't imagine what that fan would do if Chester did laser and redo some of his stuff.

  2. Personally, I think it's unfair that the US only is getting one tour for the album and we only got to see about half of the new album performed live. Like wtf. I would have loved to see I'll Be Gone, Castle Of Glass, Roads Untraveled, Skin To Bone, Until It Breaks and Powerless live. I like those songs more than the other half of the album. If it were up to me, the touring schedule should have been like this...

    Spring/early Summer 2012: The European/Russian tour

Summer 2012: Honda Civic Tour with more dates

Fall 2012: South America, South Africa

Winter 2012: AAC and some other off shows

    Winter 2013: European/Australia tour

    Spring/early summer 2013: European spring/summer tour

Summer 2013: Japan and a few off shows, maybe Russia, then another US summer tour

Fall 2013: Ending the tour in south America or some other places

Then by November/December, begin writing new LP album, take some of 2014 off it need be.

I think LP has shown that the shorter tour agrees with them more. I think the quality of shows in 2012/2013 are much higher then 2011. Plus pretty sure their wives would argue vehemently against that schedule.

I'm sure though that they will do something else in 2014, tour or not, because the band (Mike especially) likes to work a lot.

They said that their new idea was to tour less, but get an album out faster. So maybe they are going to the studio in 2014/late 2013.

Also while this tour was shorter, they did hit a lot of significant places, South America, South Africa, New Zealead, etc..

And I'm sure they'll play the rest of Living Things (with maybe the exception of UIB because it's so funky). Plus the US technically did get COG live in Vegas, though IMO I'd drop it for IBG. COG really slows it down. That or drop the Medley.

  3. The frustration from people comes from Shinoda saying that they were changing the three sets after 2012 for the 2013 tour and then they haven't changed anything. I believe he said new setlists for 2013 and it hasn't happened yet so that's why people are upset right now.

I don't remember when Mike said it, but he must have because it was in the back of my mind while I was in Vegas. Sean also said new setlist. So really Shinoda kind of dropped the ball here because if they hadn't changed the setlist then they could have argued what I said before. One song difference does not make a new set, but not gonna lie, I didn't expect too much in Vegas. Was really just hoping for IBG.

It also may have something to do with the fact that NZ/Australia is, for all intents and purposes, the end of the Living Things touring cycle, and as short as it's been, it'd be nice to see SOME kind of variety. This tour started out so promising in Europe and just completely crashed and burned after the first couple HCT shows. One song from the first four albums COMBINED that was never played live...and now 5 songs from Living Things that most likely will never be played. How can you NOT be disappointed by that?

Living Things touring cycle = Way too short/inconsistent, way too many places left out, way too many missed opportunities.

I think it's because they spaced out their touring, and did less of it, that it seems so off right now. Like I was honestly surprised at the fact that they didn't hit anywhere twice 2012/2013, and how long it's been for NZ.

I'm not going to be disappointed until their new album tour. Maybe they'll do another Europe/US for Living Things that will cover the other 5 songs in 2014. There doesn't seem to be any indication that after Japan they're heading back to the studio. However, if that's the case then I'll be the first person bitching lol. But I think I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for right now.

And I said this in the Summer Sonic thread, keep in mind that the band is mostly made up of dads now, and Jim and Sean have kids too. I think shorter tours are going to be the norm from now on.

  4. Just did a quick check and this will be the first time NZ and Japan would see these setlists, as the band hasn't been back in years.

So why would they create a new setlist? I mean NZ hasn't even seen ATS, so they missed out on WTCFM, The Messenger, Wretches and Kings, etc.., Japan's last setlist was the awful nonsense from 2011.

Until they hit the states or Europe again, the band has no real reason to change the setlists. Which the way the scheduling is going I think will be a while. Definitely 2014 for the US.

  5. The only way I could see LP opening for Muse would be if it was at a big festival in England like Reading or Glastonbury, stuff like that. Muse are basically considered gods over there. I'd say Japan is a pretty neutral ground for both bands though.

Also, food for thought: LP's playing Summer Sonic in the middle of August, after what's looking like it'll be at least a couple months off from touring, and we know they're going back into the studio a bit later this year. With these 2 shows likely being "on an island" between the end of this touring cycle and album #6, could we see a second new song debuted 7 years (SEVEN YEARS?! My god.) after QWERTY?

Holy mackerel I can't believe it's been seven years. Maybe they will, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

More likely I would think is that Mike will continue doing the hundreds of things he does, and the rest of the band will just chill with their family. Remember that 4/6 of them are dads, a lot of them with little kids.

  6. In case people were curious, people were already lined up when I got to PH (at 5:30am) and only 85 of the hundreds lined up got a wrist band to see the band. They also had the LPU M&G there before the Club Tattoo people.

From what I heard it was both good and bad. Obviously they had to go quick because the show started at 9pm (and they actually started at 9 on the dot). So some people somehow didn't get the whole band to sign things, while others got a chance to chat a bit.

I don't think it was worth my barricade spot, but a lot of people enjoyed it.

  7. Whoa lots of complaining from people who weren't even there. They put on a great show! More crowd interaction then I've seen them do in a long while. Including: A strip tease from Phoenix, Chester noticing his fly down after a while into the show and Mike making fun of him, Mike interacting with 70% of the barricade during ITE, Phoenix leaning over for fistbumbs, Brad kneeling down to sing with the crowd, Chester shaking lots of hands (mine included :P ), and Chester and Mike just talking to the crowd.

I didn't have internet access while in Vegas, but I did get tweets to my phone saying a new setlist for the night. Plus I met Sean the day before the show and he said a new setlist too. However, knowing the band I really wasn't expecting much of a change, and that opener was BADASS. Sure to LPL people the setlist is annoying, but I was limping after the show because I jumped so much, and my voice was horse from screaming. Whoever said they wouldn't go to this show even if their flight and ticket were payed for... well I would have gladly taken it.

Though to what LGraham was saying, I do think it's a bit odd that they have been dragging their feet about playing the rest of LT, ESPECIALLY since Mike said they purposely had the idea of live shows in mind while making it. I was praying for I'll Be Gone in Vegas, and not gonna lie, I'm gonna be pretty pissed if they get it overseas, especially since I'm not going to see another show till 2014 at the earliest. I still want them to play it though, and I'm glad I got to see COG live.

Also a bad setlist/encore? Please let me remind you of the 2011 show (from Houston).

As you can see they've gotten MUCH better. Odds are there won't even be a DSP from this show, so no one should be upset at the set. And they're not playing for the DSP listeners anyways, they're playing for the people who go to the show. And as a person at the show I pretty happy I went!

  8. Good show. LP was very interactive with the crowd, something I have missed in past shows. I thought COG was miles better then the last time I heard a live video of it, though I might not have heard it the best from the pit.

Crowd was a bit weak, which was disappointing, but to those of us who were there for 14hrs+ in line were awesome! I'd love to know what someone thought who wasn't barricade. I could hear barricade guys singing, but the people behind me were not very loud.

PH did a really good job (after a while) organizing us. Only down sides was that we couldn't sit down, and they epically messed up getting people into the pit.

But the show was a rehearsal and they did well. I'll admit I was hoping for I'll Be Gone, but no such luck. I'm still glad I went because they sound very adamant that this really will be the only US show of 2013.

  9. I can't believe this show is almost a month away. I'm hoping like crazy that they'll premiere I'll Be Gone.

And they just put up the M&G option, so if you guys are going then you can try for a M&G. Odds will be good I'd think, since it's a smaller show.

I don't need to stay at PH. But I was planning on driving up a day early too. I recognize your username from FMMB, can't place you though lol. I was fearishowifall there. Maybe I could meet up with y'all, let me know :) It's Linkin Park, I'll figure it out :)

Must have been someone else because I've never been a big FM fan and I never went to the boards. :P You have facebook? We have a group on there. Just message me your info and I'll add you!

And I'm staying at Harrah's. Try googling places near by, or since you have a car you'll have more options. I just have my two feet and maybe cash for the bus/shuttle.

  10. I heard Numb on Youtube in 06. I few days later I heard Faint, and then I started to look up all the different videos. It was actually pretty quick for me. I got Hybrid Theory and Meteora and put them on my old mp3 and then joined the countdown for Minutes to Midnight.

It wasn't until after my first show that I started to join the online community. I thought I could have gotten pit seats in the regular sale lol

  11. A GA ticket huh? Like pit? I didn't see that option when I purchased mine livenation presage. I'm in section 105. I would like to meet someone there and/or share a hotel room possibly. I'm driving up from Phoenix so i could pick someone up at the airport or whatever :) I'm not some crazy person - Mark will vouch for me :)

If interested, please email me hmjackson03@gmail.com. I respond fairly quickly :)

Pretty sure it's pit. The "Golden Circle". They were on sale in the LPU presale, and sold out in a minute, no joke. Unfortunately I don't have the tickets anymore.

I know a LOT of LPUers are going so finding people shouldn't be hard. Personally going a day early to hang out in Vegas. :P

I already maxed out my hotel room, but maybe someone else could help out. Though I advise you to book sooner rather then later because the rooms are pricey.

  12. Very emotive. Can see a very emotive message from Mike Shinoda.

Say whatever you want, to me is one of the best LPTV.

Agree. I thought that was a lovely little speech by Mike. I haven't listened to any of the South African DSPs so I wasn't aware the band had said something, but I'm not surprised. LP is always a class act.

Also GORGEOUS visuals. What a beautiful country.

  13. Mike looked so happy to get that mini vuvuzela. And I didn't recognize Debris for a second there.

One of my favorite parts of the new LPTVs are all the new quotes Pooch finds.

And this video really makes me want to see them do Roads Untraveled Live!

  14. Yes, Paris was one day after the anniversary. Them doing something special for every anniversary every very would be stupid and nothing special anymore. 10th anniversary is something you might wanna celebrate as a band. For example Slipknot released 10th anniverary editions of their albums with bonus DVD's.

There's no show set for the date in March yet but you never know. But they doubt that they'll do something special since they havent really done anything special for HT.

    I agree.

Personally, Meteora is my favorite album so I'd flip if they did something, but they barely acknowledged HT, which was more of an nod to the fact that the BAND was 10 years old, not the album.

But if for some reason LP did do something, realistically I'd say it would be Don't Stay. I'd love to hear Easier to Run though.
