  1. Mike said earlier that the extra stuff (globe thing/sculpture) were to cost.

But it is strange because I really don't know who they're trying to market it to. I'm sure if it was under $200 a significant amount of people would buy it. I would say a lot of LP fans are in their twenties dealing with living on their own for the first time and/or college, and then teens who won't be able to get that amount of cash. I remember the auction items would sell pretty high, but charity might have been an incentive there. And then casual fans might get the cd, I highly doubt they'll spend $500 for an art book and stuff.

As for the cd (the only thing I might afford lol) I'm waiting. I was so disappointed by the remixes that have already been released, and I'm not excited enough to actually buy the cd. Probably will eventually just to have all of them, but I'd rather spend my money elsewhere right now.

  2. Anyone thinking about going?

I do wish STP would hit a major Texas city with a solo show, but I'm seriously considering this one. Only down side is the ticket prices. But the Woodlands is one of my favorite venues, so I'll see. :)

Also a concert in November in Texas I'm pretty sure is the same for anyone else in September temperature wise lol.

  3. I started listening to them when I was 15 and now I'm 21, so it's been a while.

I'm also a firm believer that Hybrid Theory and Meteora are really two completely different albums. Meteora was the first one I listened to, and it's what hooked me into the band so even now I never skip any of the tracks when I hear it on my iPod.

The others are interesting. As I've grown older I have gravitated more to listening to MTM/ATS then Hybrid Theory. I don't think Hybrid Theory has a bad song on it, but I think there are better songs on MTM/ATS.

LT is like a outlier. It was too rushed and the large majority of the songs I have to be in a specific mood to listen too.

Like Geki, I'm not thrilled with the electronic emphasis as of late. I was never a hiphop/electronic fan, Mike and LP pretty much being the only exception on my iPod. So I do miss Chester getting a chance to do, what I feel is his more natural area of rock. It's also why I don't mind at all that he takes the time to do STP since really that's where his voice shines IMO.

I think I'm still a pretty big fan, but I left fangirl a long time ago. I think the majority of us on this site are huge fans, but are willing to admit the band and everything they do isn't perfect.

  4. If they do change up the setlists like STP fans think they might, then I hope Chester mentions it to the rest of LP lol.

I can't wait to see video from this show. I saw THIS article that mentioned that STPWCB is the first show to play the Starland Ballroom since they closed to do renovations after Hurricane Sandy hit. I bet they'll be an extra special energy there tonight.

So jealous of everyone who can make this tour. They look like they're having a blast performing together, so I'm hopeful that they'll tour again, maybe closer to me :D

  5. You guys think Chester is going to fly back to LA for this? He's have to come in from NY either after the show on the 10th or leave the day of on the 11th, and then leave for the OKC show on the 13th.

Personally getting tired of LA events being sponsored by LPU. Only purpose of LPU for non LA fans is the early entry into shows IMO.

  6. Changed up the post to make it cleaner and easier to read.

I'm crazy proud of Chester. He's handled this situation with so much class in the midst of a lot of people who haven't, and if you read the rest of the article you can see how much of a toxic environment it was for both Scott and the rest of STP, and I'm happy that STPWCB is going well.

Very excited to know that Cry Cry is the song that is written by Chester. We never truly know what the input is on the LP albums, so as a DBS/GD fan I'm extremely pumped to hear it. Also cool to know that Black Heart is probably going to be the next single. The lyrics looked good, so I can't wait to hear the melody.

  7. I personally see the Dean, Eric, Robert + Chester section as a passive aggressive way of the site owner showing that he's on Scott's side, especially since it was actually named STPWCB first.

Plus Chester doesn't have a section in the "band members" so yeah I think that a large part of it is personal.

I go every now and then to see if I missed any new STP info, but really I just want to bash my head when I read a lot of the posts. StoneTempleBrett created stpfans.com which was way better IMO. However, it seems they all jumped back over to BelowEmpty when it reopened.

  8. I know a lot of people on BelowEmpty are morons, but let's not stoop down to their level.

It is INCREDIBLY frustrating to me to read their posts too, but just remember that we're the ones with the talented, reliable singer, and they have to deal with a guy who cares more about drugs then his fans. Seriously look on ticketmaster at his reviews. No way I'm spending a dime on someone who is constantly late to shows, slurs his way through a song, and then leaves after a piss poor performance.

So I HIGHLY advise against going on there. All the LP people there can be easily seen apart from our coherent posts (that mostly get ignored), and I'd like to keep our imagine that way and not do any childish things.

As to the rehearsal, it sounded great to me. I haven't actually heard Scott's versions, but personally I don't care. This is now Chester's band and I'm only listening because I love his voice. I'm so excited for the EP!!

  9. Black Heart lyrics

Black heart comin he's a cold machine

    Cuts like a knife

    Gentle and Clean

    Face like an angel

    Mind of a killer

Nobody else gonna love her better

    Lay down now stay down

Took her life with a quick pull trigger

    Well I don't mind, I don't mind

Said I don't mind if you don't mind

The colors have all but faded

Out of a dead mans eyes

    Down to his blackened heart

Black hearts kickin like a beating drum

Shooting her down the sound of his gun

    No compassion

    Hard as an assassin

Falling deeper still in that wreck less fashion

    Lay down now stay down

Deeper and deeper with a blind mans passion

    Well I don't mind, I don't mind

Said I don't mind if you don't mind

The colors have all but faded

Out of a dead mans eyes

    Down to his blackened heart

    Rescue Me

    If you don't mind

The colors have all but faded

Out of a dead mans eyes

    Down to his blackened heart

  10. It wasn't until now that it's legally STPWCB. Remember Scott has been saying for months that the DeLeo Brothers and Eric can't use the name.

Personally I'm frustrated that this is how it ended up. I know checking the STP boards that this is huge deal, but I wish that it was just STP.

I hope Chester is getting some pleasure out of being in the band, and that the rest of the band is keeping him out of the drama.

  11. I feel like I should apologize in advance for how excited I'm going to get when this drops.

Especially since one song is going to be mostly Chester: "There's actually a song on here that Chester wrote musically, lyrically, and melodically."

The art is very nice too. I like the whole vibe this is giving off already.

    October can't come fast enough.

Edit: And I can't even describe how much I hate the drama involved. I can't even imagine how you could call yourself a fan, but want the band to be miserable just so you'd get music. Fans have said how much happier the rest of the band looks now. I have zero respect for Scott.
