  1. ...No. Linkin Park aren't ones to play non-singles, I'll give you that, but they've been playing Papercut at every single show this year. Mike Shinoda knows the definition of "surprise," I assure you.
  2. No offense but Mark has done plenty to raise money for MFR. Over $700? Sounds great to me. $500 is a lot to give to a charity. There's nothing wrong with considering the show he'd be going to see, especially if he already helped raise as much as he claimed, AND if I'm correct, Mark lives on the east coast. That's a lot of money coming from the help of one person. With all due respect, how much have you done for MFR?
  3. I don't think Mike would bother mentioning a "surprise" if it was Robot Boy. They debut songs from their current album live all the time without making a big deal out of it. An old song? Maybe. Normally I don't think Mike would bother calling an old song a "surprise" either, but talk of playing old songs live has been coming up a lot more recently with Mike. He's mentioned With You a couple times, so maybe. A Thousand Suns in full? Could be. More of a "surprise" worth hyping up then the last two. Still have the problem of Robot Boy though. A totally new song making its debut? They're playing at an iTunes festival that will be live streamed and available on demand afterwards. Sounds like a good opportunity to play something new. I hope its this one, but who knows? A portion of the setlist will be acoustic like they did at KROQ in 2001? They've been doing it at the summits, they said its an intimate venue. Or maybe they have an announcement to make. Basically, me typing up this post has hyped me up significantly and I will be skipping out on any 4th of July tomfoolery that could interfere with my watching of this stream.
  4. I'm gonna try for it. I'm a bit tight on money right now but this seems worth it for more than one reason.
  5. An example of the vocal minority, ladies and gentlemen.
  6. I love it. It's made me appreciate him a lot more. I'm glad he's constantly getting on the band and making sure that they're keeping the art form of the music as the #1 priority. Besides most of the fans agree that they would much rather see the album version of Iridescent live.
  7. So this is just the Kerrang interview.
  8. Random note to self: Whenever Linkin Park does both RME and APFMH over Bleed It Out, I will refer to it as the Wombo Combo. because that^^^ is pretty much my reaction every time they do it.
  9. I hope Reading My Eyes becomes a permanent part of Bleed It Out like APFMH has become. Maybe they can keep adding little bits to it over time so that BIO becomes this big long jam of Linkin Park nostalgia.
  10. I wouldn't call it "just money-making." The ATS tour was their best tour to date in my opinion, in terms of the overall experience. The visuals, longer sets, etc. I do agree though, that they should start choosing shows with "different" songs in it.
  11. Most any popular bands that put out a DVD or have any proshot video/audio will have some digital improvements made. It's not that the band demands it or anything, their mixing guys just do it to fix any glaring mistakes. It's not a big deal.
  12. Glad someone posted this, I was going to if no one else had. Plus, for Figure.09, the flow of the rap wouldn't work with BIO. BIO needs lyrics that are meant to be rapped straight through, like RME, APFMH. Figure has a lot of pauses in it, and it would have to be rapped faster than normal to go with BIO. And it would be over really quickly. Dedicated could work over BIO. It would be a tad fast for Mike to rap but I think he could manage. The Figure.09 bridge...maybe could work? I'm not sure how good it would sound to be honest though. The By Myself bridge wouldn't work.
  13. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt and thinking that maybe it was translated from a foreign MTV site. Mostly because I don't get why someone even wastes their time doing this.
  14. The intro sounds like a remix/sample of the New Divide drums/beat or breakdown section. Good to see a new opening/setlist. Come to think of it, the ATS touring cycle hasn't had very many new intros/outros like the MTM cycle did. I guess they were just focused on getting the songs tight the way they are.
  15. You're using the word "experimental" a bit liberally. It was experimental for a nu-metal album. It wasn't experimental in the grand scheme of music.
  16. Sounds good to me. Any link to where we can read this?
  17. This isn't a song that just anybody can cover. Chester did a great job. I like that they did this, a nice random acoustic cover for the summit.
  18. You're right, this DOES come off extremely ignorant sounding. Seriously what the fuck? Chester has always believed in God. Brad is jewish. None of this has any fucking effect on the music so I don't see why you're so offended by it.
  19. Can't wait for the video of the Adele cover.
  20. Absolutely a good thing. Rick Rubin is basically an artist himself, and let's the band take whatever direction they want.
  21. I voted for When They Come For Me, Blackout, and In Between and my top 3 LP songs. And I was being completely serious.
  22. =/ I think it's great that they're asking our opinions, but the fans shouldn't help define the future of the band. That's the band's job. Just do whatever you want guys.
  23. I wouldn't say that. From The Inside has made its fair share of appearances in recent years. It's the most common older song that they play.
  24. Wow. This is REALLY funny coming from you. You complain in these setlist threads more than anyone I can think of. I love how Linkin Park adding a song that has been a fairly common song during this cycle has gotten everyone cheering like this. Granted, the set is awesome, but it's amazing how there's so much bitching and then they throw in a song they always planned on playing at some point, and everyone jizzes everywhere.
  25. This is a random guess, but it might have been a piano outro. During soundchecks in 2010, Mike would play the piano chords after the song ended. And that would make a good fade in intro to New Divide with the 09 intro.
