Lost has that sound to it that leans more toward Meteora but also sounds a bit like an MTM demo. It was probably early influence for the album, similar to the “Attached” demo. It’s strange though too because it also has a kind of Hybrid Theory singing style Chester does too. It’s like all three eras in one song.

Someone mentioned Meteora “sequels” to songs on Hybrid Theory so here’s my personal list on how I feel about which 13 songs are kind of “sequels” to HT tracks. This is split between some being more similar instrumentally and others more similar lyrically. 1 Papercut - Faint 2 One Step Closer - Figure.09 3 With You - Somewhere I Belong 4 Points of Authority - Hit The Floor 5 Crawling - Easier To Run 6 Runaway - Don’t Stay 7 By Myself - From The Inside 8 In The End - Lost 9 A Place For My Head - Lying From You 10 Forgotten - Nobody’s Listening 11 Cure For The Itch - Session 12 Pushing Me Away - Numb 13 My December - Breaking The Habit

Lost was certainly not used for an album promo. I think people would remember if it was. He’s totally bs’ing. Hardcore fans have already dug up/talked about every surfaced clip of Lost. That guy must be thinking of A.06. If not he’s either totally bullshitting or he works at NRG, and I doubt he does.

I’ve listened to that Lost snippet on soundcloud a couple times now, and I think the song actually would’ve fit fine on Meteora. Personally, I think it’d fit best on the album between Faint and Figure.09. I can tell the difference in it, but there’s a few songs on Meteora that are pretty different from the rest, take Nobody’s Listening, Breaking The Habit, and Numb for example. Still it feels very Meteora, so it could very well have fit in with the album, and it was probably very close to making the album. I’m just glad we’re finally getting to hear it after all these years. Also, the chorus, if it was rewritten, it’s slightly better than “Thoughts That Take Away My Pride, trapped in places deep inside” In my opinion. I can see why they might have thought that chorus was a bit bland. It makes the same point that the final lyrics do, but isn’t quite as depthful, and just a little too wordy for the song (in my opinion, again). That’s something that comes with writing every song to make it the best it can be, is sometimes rewriting when something isn’t fully there yet. In Making of Meteora, producer Don Gilmore mentions stuff similar to this.

I kinda disagree in that he has that same singing he does on Numb in the verses, so I can tell it’s young Chester from 2002. Chester’s voice did change a bit over the years, but he always did kind of sound the same. also check out this vid and go to the 0:50 mark: “LOOOST” lol. Probs was just a coincidence tho. It sounds like he might have been referencing it a bit. or he was just simply joking about baggage getting lost. It’s all in the way Mike said it lmao. Maybe it was a double entendre

I am beyond hyped for this after hearing that new clip. This is a dream come true. Not only does this song sound relatable as hell to me, personally, because it sounds like it’s gonna be about feeling lost when you’re all alone. This has always been a way LP has always resonated with me. But THE INSTRUMENTAL is something else, and i’ve always been dying to hear it without Brad joking about touring in small vans and Chester mocking Brad’s signature XD. I cannot wait for Friday. That’ll probably be on repeat in my headphones on Spotify for a couple hours at least. Man, Chester was such a talented mf. I miss him so damn much.

I said specifically that I really don’t think Resolution is Lost. I said it seemed like it because of how the video was setup. Resolution probably is gonna be a different demo we never heard, though we don’t know yet. It might be a demo/early version for one of the full unreleased songs on Lost Demos. The first three tracks on Lost Demos are likely not demo versions, but fully realized tracks (still technically demos but finished in their entirety). You can kinda tell by the titles of them.

Resolution seemed like it would be a demo for Lost because of the timing of the video. The clips that were shown sounds like Resolution is mentioned by someone can’t tell who (sounds like either Mike or Phoenix). Second we hear someone humming a melody (sounds like Lost) and it’s probably Phoenix or Brad, still can’t tell. Resolution might be a completely different track though, and I have a feeling it is. Ever since “Husky” was revealed to be Hit The Floor, I’ve thought “Serpent” was the Lost demo, because I made the connections that it could have been one of the two. Still we don’t know, but I think Resolution or Serpent, one or the other, was Lost. I really don’t think it’s Resolution though. For one the demo is like 4 and a half minutes and Lost didn’t turn out to be anywhere near that long (3:19). But also, Serpent would make much more sense to be Lost, that it’s not a demo in itself on lost demos CD. There’s also “Nocturnal” but I still think that’s Nobody's Listening, because for 1, it was mentioned in that SPIN magazine, and Nobody’s Listening made the album so it makes sense, and 2, the lack of live drums recorded for it, with every other track having bass and most having guitar, kinda gives it away that it can’t really be any other track than Nobody’s Listening. But maybe i’m wrong. Maybe it could also be the Lost demo, if “Serpent” is actually Nobody’s Listening.

LP is very experimental, and do a wide variety of things and there’s a ton of songs that do things no other LP song does, so honestly it probably doesn’t have to do with vocals. It’s a possibility that it received vocals at one point. My favorite early Meteora demos are “Halo”, “Soundtrack” and “Cumulus”. Wish those 3 had vocals too. Another thing I’ve mentioned before, the demo “Cumulus” made it to the final process of the album recordings, as it’s on the song board at NRG. so clearly it’s got to be another unreleased song possibly with vocals we haven’t heard, and I think there’s a chance the final product became either “Fighting Myself” or “More The Victim”
