  1. Yes I’m aware of what remastering means. A little mistake on my behalf, I know the Lost demos 2-14 were not mastered before, I just forgot to specify that. My bad There are numerous sales I have now seen of the 3CD stating the album has been digitally remastered on that release. So that answers that.
  2. Is it actually said the Deluxe CD holds all the original 2002-2003 mastering? Because from what I heard the songs were remastered with the release. Everything in Lost Demos was, so if no word on it, the original Meteora album and most else, at least studio tracks on Meteora20 probably were too. I don’t think LP has ever given their stuff “remastered” labels on re-issued remastered songs and things very often get remastered on a re-release.
  3. I don’t actually think it’s the mix Andy did but actually rather the mastering in the deluxe CD Lost is the reason it sounds the way it does. Maybe they did it like that on purpose to make it stand out a little more as it is labeled “2002 mix”, or give it a more “demo” feel, or some other reason idk but it’s a possibility the actual mix itself could sound cleaner than the one on the Meteora20 CD. But we’ll never know that for sure, unless ITF they include it on a Meteora re-release again, and it actually sounds a little better.
  4. What a way to put it. Some emotional shit fr Makes me remember that I miss the guy a lot, wishing he was still here to make albums man. He was a legend, though and we’ve still got all this awesome stuff in the vault which is awesome, like getting brand new songs every time. Hearing Lost felt sort of like a brand new Linkin Park song because they gave it a modern touch, which was a really smart choice on that release and not just throwing the old track itself to the public. It makes me happy knowing we’re getting and will continue to get releases from the band to put out that unheard stuff that’s great.
  5. Friendly Fire sounds great. Sounds perfectly like an OML album track. I’m excited to hear this one. Felt that feeling all over again seeing that instagram post, of when Lost first got announced last year lol
  6. Rob said they had initially 18 songs entering NRG and recording drums on, so it was probably A.06, Healing Foot and one other, I’d guess Massive, maybe even Soundtrack or something was in there if A.06 didn’t count as a song then, were the 3 that got taken out very early on (likely about just after or during recording drums) while the band was narrowing down, then to the decision of working on 15 full songs. Likely that particular red song board was first made when the band decided on 15. Previously it was thought the blank space with only drums marked was HF, but no it’s probably Numb. No working title known, it probably didn’t even have one, and they said it came together quickly and effortlessly so they might just not have bothered to track the progress after finishing drums because of how fluently it came together afterward. Now I don’t know if it’s been revealed what the song on the blank space was, so if it has let me know
  7. Yea, I forgot to specify this but obviously they would of course have to publicly specify that it is exclusively the original mix of the song, not just slap the 2002 mix on the collection and call it a day. My idea was I think because it’s their newest successful single, and Meteora 20 just happened, using the other version of it now, more publicly would be a cool addition and also for the sake of matching the other tracks that it sits in the same boat as historically, and this time to present how the song originally was back in the day, and also mix in a bit more of the classic early 2000’s vibes into the collection. The mixes of a lot of these songs are older anyways, so it wouldn’t be far off for anyone to care I don’t think. Also I don’t think anyone who doesn’t know about the old mix would think “ew, this doesn’t sound right, I hate linkin park now”. They might realize it sounds a bit different, but in reality most people immersed in the collection probably wouldn’t care or even acknowledge it, and still be vibing with the song. Saying it doesn’t sound right is like saying the old mix sounds poor quality. No. This is a collection of songs dating back to 2000 up to 2017. Andy’s mix is as finished of a mix as Manny’s. Both are finished mixes of the same 3 minute 20 second length song, that might be different sonically but retaining identical structure. And most listeners would not be that harshly critical of the mix, just saying. Really, I thought it’d be a cool addition for the close OG fans of the band, because it was my wrongful assumption the long time fans who knew the 2002 mix loved it, but I kinda learned today that’s not really true. It was just a personal idea… I thought it was cool, but I know it’s not needed, but it would be a cool touch also just to give credit where credit is (somewhat) due to the original version.
  8. No, not necessarily. I don’t think PB would’ve made it that far either. Also keep in mind High Voltage has been confirmed for a while now to be one so that means there’s only two other ones not three, i think.
  9. I agree on that they needed to do a little touch up. The original mix though, is the same song at the end of the day, but it’s very different sonically from the newer mix, so since they have 2 mixes on the table, some variety is always nice, especially if this is like a historical collection of hit songs from their discography. All i’m saying is it would be cool if they used that version on this upcoming release, only upsides i see and no downsides to it this time around I know That 808 you’re talking about and I agree. It’s a drum machine sound and it does sound like a bit of a car wreck, in combo with the guitar and bass but it’s meant to, to give a certain heaviness in the context of the song’s structure, that isn’t really acceptable by today’s mixing standards, but would be in 2003. The volume of that track is turned down in the newer mix. You know what’s interesting is that Mike said, it wasn’t so much about Andy as it was the sounds they gave him to work with to work with. so the band was in the year 2002 where mixing standards are different, but also the song was being mixed for the first time. So I believe at least most songs that have been revisited and mixed again for a second time, the original version would start to show its flaws, especially if it’s a mix that’s 20 years older.
  10. The most likely case is it’s probably literally those 3, which is what I had originally been thinking. Step Up and And One versions that are the farthest along they got would be actually dope to hear.
  11. They were definitely recorded. Chester Vox on Resolution (Lost) had one slash over it, which means recordings were partially done. Two slashes (X) was for fully finished and decided tracks. So it was in partially completed form at that time, but not settled on, and still receiving rewrites though so not necessarily meaning they saved the vocal recordings that were taken out and replaced from the songs.
  12. Interesting. I mean if theres a rough version saved of that even, it might not though sadly. Don’t think they would put a demo of a song in this release, also. correcting myself from earlier, MOST of us hardcore fans love the Andy Wallace mix, but I guess not all of us. I grew up with early 2000s music so maybe that’s why
  13. Couldn’t disagree more. But I respect your opinion. We all have different taste after all
  14. again, and I’ve said this before to someone who said the same thing, no he never abandoned Lost’s mix. It made it to sequencing which came after all the songs were fully mixed and mastered so It was fully finished and ready to be put on the album. Mike called the song “a done deal”. Brad said they took it out of the album because they didn’t know where it would go on the tracklist. I think that issue is because it’s only the CD rip that’s online, which doesn’t deliver the fullness of the song through a lot of modern speakers, aside from stereo systems. Ive listened to the 2002 mix in my home studio and it sounds way better than it does through a laptop speaker and even airpods I could be wrong and stupid though, and misinformed about how things work. But I think CD quality has its limitations in today’s modern CD-less world.
  15. nahhh, that’s wild. Literally it’s the album mix of the song. That’s like saying all the Meteora tracks suck.
  16. Yeah that’s what i said earlier, we all love the Andy Wallace mix. I mean if they are including Lost, having that version on there would be awesome and get it on streaming and stuff. But idk if that’d seem unnecessary, or interfere with it being exclusive to the CD version of Meteora 20 that’s still available
  17. For the album’s full extra songs, Meteora had Lost, and then (the 90% completed) Fighting Myself and More the Victim, but we don’t know what the ones Hybrid Theory had other than High Voltage, whether they were completed or only partially completed we don’t know but now that I think of it, that could be why they aren’t released if they were less finished than FM and MTV, like if they were only 60 or 70% there or less.
  18. Probably right about that. If it could get sorted out somehow, it might happen. But no hopes, and certainly not any time soon most definitely.
  19. Maaan i’d love to hear Friendly Fire. Another unreleased track is always so exciting. Id love to see What Are You Worth on here too. That song is kind of a banger Somewhat odd that they’re including Lost in this, but ok, I mean it is a big single. Imagine if the version included is the Andy Wallace mix as a little wink for the super close close fans. That’d be the coolest lol, but I know that’s likely unrealistic, plus the label probably wants to keep that a CD exclusive right now anyways.
  20. I just kinda really had a realization going through this thread again that i actually predicted A LOT about Lost without realizing it. I predicted it probably didn’t have the thoughts that take away my pride line in a more finished version, I think I might’ve even said somewhere back in like 2020/21 or so that it could’ve been a full track that got mixed by Andy. That’s really crazy man, I guess it was some lucky guesses honestly, cause I literally knew just as much as everyone else lol.
  21. Wow! I've never seen that studio report before. That confirmed it definitely though. 13 finished mixed and mastered songs and 12 made the album. Also, I'm sure the Andy mix of Lost will eventually be officially released like on streaming services and all, at some point, maybe it'll even be as a bonus track on the album there too, but we'll have to wait a few years for that probably. Right now there's not reason to, since it's available exclusively on the deluxe CD right now.
  22. Yeah but it wouldn't have been mixed during finals in December 2002, with everything else because It was made two months later. Brad said 14 songs in an interview so it could mean either way really, I guess, but we'll know if we do get a 2002 mix of More the Victim or not. EDIT: It wasn’t? made two months later, no idea where the idea came from but I must’ve been tripping
  23. Adds up. Fighting Myself didn’t get a finished mix in 2002, as confirmed by Mike. More the Victim I don’t think we know whether it was put aside and didn’t get mixed or if Andy did mix it with the others back at that time. All we know is that the version out is “the farthest we got with it” as Mike says. The idea given seems like Lost was the only mixed and finalized unreleased track from the album session, but that’s never been clearly stated. Either way, they only had a max of 15 songs they could have finished and mixed. All i’m saying is a 2002 finished mix of More the Victim might have existed, which if it did that would be awesome to hear. If it does exist i’m sure they’ll put it out at some point for the close fans. Logically, I think probably it would make more sense it didn’t get mixed back in 2002 though.
