  1. He looks like a guy who drinks 3 Monster Energy per day and thinks 5FDP is the best band in the world šŸ˜‚
  2. Totally agree on this, absolutely makes sense. I mean I totally get the fact that he basically hasn’t got the ā€œstrengthā€ to put out whatever he wants with the risk of it being a super super niche release. PT was a totally different thing IMO because he would have put it out no matter what, despite me being not big on the album I recognize he needed to put it out for himself first as a part of his grieving process.
  3. My problem is that if he releases an album in the mood/style of Happy Endings (and even Open Door) my interest is like super super low, and that’s sad. I mean I’m not comparing him to LP it would be very wrong to do it, but new Mike doesn’t excite me as it should (and as I hope it would). I mean I see some of you being excited for the jams and even Happy Endings and I totally lost track with that feeling. So that’s why I wish Mike would go ā€œfuck I want to go full experimental even if this sells 5000 copiesā€.
  4. I know and I don’t like this way of thinking, I’m the first one who expressed many times his disappointment for Mike’s material in terms of quality and the first wishing he’d release a weird experimental record with stuff like ā€œit goes throughā€ or UIB or rap battle stuff like IOU, so yeah it’s sad
  5. I think he’s pretty cold on making a new album right now, I don’t know, if he is more satisfied in putting out single songs it’s probably the best way
  6. Agree on the fact that he’s not gonna out an album with press, cd, vinyls, etc just due to the demand of a strict fanbase. He’s smart enough to estimate and consider the situation as a whole with its pros and cons and then go for the cleverest thing to do.
  7. Happy Endings to me is not bad because it’s selling out, it’s just that I don’t like the sound. But I totally agree with you that calling the song a sellout is wrong, as much as I don’t think ATS and OML we’re just the band wanting to sellout and achieve a bigger audience (to me OML is A LOT braver and boundaries- pushing than Meteora and LT, because it’s totally different from the other records by the band).
  8. How much did PT sell ? IIRC it did like 33k first week in the US, it’s not that bad. It even charted top 30 in many countries. It was not a flop
  9. HT20 did pretty well, like it peaked #12 on billboard and generated buzz about the band so I guess it could justify a M20 in 2023
  10. Definitely this
  11. So he’s not trolling about ā€œif the song goes big, I’m gonna make an album even tho i didn’t plan itā€. Ehm ok, not a big fan of this, TBH. But I hope he drops a great album and proves me wrong (pun intended lol).
  12. Meteora 20 is THE thing man. We literally have no demos with vocals from that era except for like Figure 09 and faint. Imagine them dropping for M20 a FTI demo with different vocals and Thoughts that take away my pride. It’d blow the fan base mind out of the fucking water
  13. So basically they just muted ā€œfuck sanityā€ in the bridge IIRC.
  14. Is there a difference between this version and the standard one you can find everywhere (except for the fact that it’s clean version) ? I’m curious
  15. This is material for new Mike memes definitely šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
  16. Lol 2050 is a long run, I’ll be 58 and I see myself rocking a brand new Xero demo on my super technological device that still doesn’t exist today šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
  17. Yeah but it was like 15 years ago. It’d have been interesting at that time.
  18. Mike is Mike, he loves being ā€œI wrote a song with <Insert an underground artist name you never heard> he/she is very coolā€. Apparently he likes working with unexpected artists, and I respect his choice. In addition to that, a collaboration with a super huge name would probably generate hype and great expectations, like imagine a collab with, say, Eminem turning out to be ā€œmehā€.
  19. Lorde vibes on this one. Also, the sounds remind me a bit of WAIW
  20. That My Suffering demo is really dark and angry compared to those very formuliac verses. That ā€œeverybody’s gonna dieā€ and the way he screams ā€œmy sufferingā€ are a lot darker
  21. ā€œFireā€ and ā€œMy Sufferingā€ are a lot darker and less radio friendly IMO.
  22. Good point on the collabs, the did a song with Rakim that was nearing 50 and then with Kiiara that was 19 at that time.
  23. Yeah basically like 6 songs off OML are based on Chester’s feeling translated into songs by the band, therapy sessions. I believe that Chris Cornell’s death really destroyed the progress he made in 2017...
