  1. I thought the Disney Mike meme was super fun TBH, and it all would have stopped there as of me. You talk like I spend every single day here making jokes about how bad Mike’s music is while I clearly don’t. Lol. If you look at my serious comment I made yesterday, I clearly said that even tho I don’t like the song at all I’m happy to see him feeling good.
  2. I don’t accept you telling me I can’t make a full argument without comparing things. The OML comparison was to justify the fact that I’m not in the “no screaming =Disney shit” state of mind. But the fact you and other people act so defensive on a post that was 100% meant to be a joke (and a funny meme) about Mike showed me that maybe I’m out of touch with the feelings of this forum nowadays. The conversation in the shout box has been constructive in the past few weeks and fun, so I don’t see all this negativity being spread all over the forum. Peace
  3. People can post the dollar sing under any Grey Daze related post made in the last year or say every single time that they are milking Chester’s legacy but how do we dare making a single innocent joke about the Disney thing regarding a song. I LOVE OML and I don’t think the album sounds Disney, I like blackbear and he doesn’t sound Disney, Mike is in a specific mood that you call uplifting but I find hella cringy. i saw people here calling Crawling cringy, I think HE is 10.00000 times a lot more cringy than that, Disney or not.
  4. Yeah I faced this thing yesterday ...
  5. Legendary and iconic, the album proved the world that the band was able to go big and make another quality record, adding elements to the recipie of HT (mainly thinking about BTH and experiments like Nobody’s listening, even tho the latter is not that good). I remember I was on holiday with my parents in France and bought the album in a giant Virgin store. Fans will never agree on which album is better between this and HT, but we can say that their nu metal phase was a hell of a ride with 2 massive records that shaped a generator of kids’ taste in music. Happy fucking birthday !
  6. As much as I don’t like the song and I think I’ll never listen to it again on purpose, if he’s up to this sound and is happy with it, I’m glad he found a way and he’s not stuck in a “I don’t want to write music anymore after 7.20.17” (as an example). Him taking about drugs and guns wouldn’t be Mike yeah
  7. I fucking love the Don Broco meets BMTH vibe of the second song
  8. Instantly saved in my iPhone gallery 😂😂😂😂
  9. I remember this 😂😂 TBH I never understood how a song about mental health issues, depression, anxiety, with specific lyrics about paranoia, panic attacks was labeled as a Disney song just for the melody and due to Kiiara’s presence 😂
  10. So here’s the Disney thing exposed in all its beauty 😂😂 next step is ShinodaxPeppaPig
  11. I thought it was a hint to the remaining songs, my bad
  12. Lol you’re right 😂😂 I didn’t manage to link the post don’t know why 😂😂😂
  13. “new”song titles teased for album 2!
  14. Shit a demo package of DBS demos would be gold 😍😍
  15. He looks like a guy who drinks 3 Monster Energy per day and thinks 5FDP is the best band in the world 😂
  16. Totally agree on this, absolutely makes sense. I mean I totally get the fact that he basically hasn’t got the “strength” to put out whatever he wants with the risk of it being a super super niche release. PT was a totally different thing IMO because he would have put it out no matter what, despite me being not big on the album I recognize he needed to put it out for himself first as a part of his grieving process.
  17. My problem is that if he releases an album in the mood/style of Happy Endings (and even Open Door) my interest is like super super low, and that’s sad. I mean I’m not comparing him to LP it would be very wrong to do it, but new Mike doesn’t excite me as it should (and as I hope it would). I mean I see some of you being excited for the jams and even Happy Endings and I totally lost track with that feeling. So that’s why I wish Mike would go “fuck I want to go full experimental even if this sells 5000 copies”.
  18. I know and I don’t like this way of thinking, I’m the first one who expressed many times his disappointment for Mike’s material in terms of quality and the first wishing he’d release a weird experimental record with stuff like “it goes through” or UIB or rap battle stuff like IOU, so yeah it’s sad
  19. I think he’s pretty cold on making a new album right now, I don’t know, if he is more satisfied in putting out single songs it’s probably the best way
  20. Agree on the fact that he’s not gonna out an album with press, cd, vinyls, etc just due to the demand of a strict fanbase. He’s smart enough to estimate and consider the situation as a whole with its pros and cons and then go for the cleverest thing to do.
  21. Happy Endings to me is not bad because it’s selling out, it’s just that I don’t like the sound. But I totally agree with you that calling the song a sellout is wrong, as much as I don’t think ATS and OML we’re just the band wanting to sellout and achieve a bigger audience (to me OML is A LOT braver and boundaries- pushing than Meteora and LT, because it’s totally different from the other records by the band).
  22. How much did PT sell ? IIRC it did like 33k first week in the US, it’s not that bad. It even charted top 30 in many countries. It was not a flop
  23. HT20 did pretty well, like it peaked #12 on billboard and generated buzz about the band so I guess it could justify a M20 in 2023
  24. Definitely this
  25. So he’s not trolling about “if the song goes big, I’m gonna make an album even tho i didn’t plan it”. Ehm ok, not a big fan of this, TBH. But I hope he drops a great album and proves me wrong (pun intended lol).
