I was hoping maybe someone could find out why we have no new LPTV, maybe Lorenzo or Mark Fiore could answer us. It's very odd.
-
Well, we know that GATS was the first piece of music that they ever wrote for the album, the riff at the beginning of the track. Then we saw the demo board in the LPTV teaser video, which was excluding a few of the songs. Mike said ''The Summoning'' was wrote at the end of the process to give the listener a break. Drawbar and Final Masquerade were the same song at one point, but when they were jamming with Morello, they decided to keep one of the jam sessions and put it on the album as a reminder of the time they had with him. Until It's Gone was made for Transformers in mind, but they ended up going with Imagine Dragons instead and I assume LP just threw it on the album anyways. Rebellion was written with Daron, no idea when they had him in the studio as far as timeframe goes. All For Nothing was already written and the band thought it sounded like Helmet when Mike sang the chorus so they figured why not have him come in and sing to pay tribute. Rakim came in late in the process I believe to do his verse on GATS . The rest of the songs on the album were the songs written in 2013 probably. Coffee, True Chainz, Warrior, Artillery, Plato, Drawbar and Odyssey.

That's pretty cool. From the Download rehearsals, no doubt.

LP wrote all of 2011/half of 2012 for LIVING THINGS. LP also wrote on the road the whole time. They wrote on the road during the LIVING THINGS cycle as well, but Mike decided to scrap literally everything in October of 2013, which they were no longer on tour during that point. That is what I was trying to say. I know that the band will only release music that they are proud of and that they love, but The Hunting Party seemed like it had a goal in mind, like it was sort of a ''passion project'' type thing to kind of combat the current rock radio music. Do you understand what I mean?

I think the main page should be updated since we found out that the ''Opening Credits Song'' was definitely from THP sessions because the lyric sheet for it was shown in the album trailer.

Awesome. I remember the rumor going around that Chester had been replaced with Steven Tyler, I'm glad that is not true. I have come to appreciate STP a lot. High Rise is great. I can't wait to see what they release next.

Part of me kind of hopes that THP was just a one-off type thing. I don't want them to continue to make this same style of music for each record coming after this. I mean... I guess I could deal with it... I'd rather see them kind of pick up from where they left off after LIVING THINGS. They had a natural direction of where they wanted to go; the folk driven, more acoustic mixed with synth pop type stuff that Mike decided to throw out last year and start writing heavier music. It seems that the band kind of made THP out of whim. They made and released the album in a fairly short amount of time. They threw out all the demos they wrote over a year and a half and started writing the heavier stuff in October of 2013. They then released the album in June 2014, that is a very short amount of time for LP to do that in, it seems that they wrote the songs in about a 2 or 3 month period and then came mixing and release and all that stuff which took a few months as well. It seems the band created THP because Mike was pissed at the current state of rock music and he wanted to make a statement and they just went with it. Say whatever you want about LIVING THINGS, that it sucks or whatever you think, but it definitely WAS a natural progression from A Thousand Suns, the band has said that themselves on numerous occasions. Most fans would have deemed that whatever they put out after A Thousand Suns sucked just because of the high statue that they hold A Thousand Suns on. What I am saying is that it seemed LP NATURALLY was writing more indie type of songs with the synth-pop influence and I hope they continue on their natural path, whatever it may be, after this album. THP definitely made the statement that they wanted to make, so maybe it is out of their systems at this point. Honestly, my hunger is fed with THP, with the screaming and heavy songs, etc. I wouldn't mind personally if LP wrote stuff that sounded similar to Castle Of Glass, Roads Untraveled, Warm Spell (from Mall), Ammosick (from Mall), Luna (from Mall), etc.) I might actually like seeing them write folky indie synth-pop type stuff.

So this show is coming up, I wonder what LP is gonna play. Definitely gonna watch the MTV special on the 27th, I hope they air some footage from it.
-
No, LP did not release a making of for the album in physical form like they did on previous albums (except for LIVING THINGS, which did not have a physical form of a making of, either). I was almost positive that we were going to get some LPTV episodes from the process, but we still have not got anything and the album has been out quite a while now, almost a full month. We might get some stuff in upcoming LPTV episodes, I just find it strange that for every other album cycle since MTM, we have got studio footage episodes leading up to the album and after the album dropped. For LIVING THINGS in particular we had footage of them making certain songs way before the album even coming out, the first episode dating at April 2012 when the album came out in late June 2012.

They used a lot of LPTV footage (all the live show clips) and they also featured Steve Aoki's part from a LPTV episode. I think Mike is the most involved here because he worked with the company helping them make speakers and stuff.

Looks cool, I want to watch this.

LP Live In Texas 2003 - The Best Show Ever?
Geki replied to sasa95's topic in Everything Linkin Park
I love LIT, the audio is perfect to me. I still listen to it all the time. I do wish they just recorded one show, mess ups and all, it would have felt more genuine. Still cool, though. I like the DVD, too, the band looked awesome back in those days. It was the first LP show I ever listened to basically. -
It's interesting that UIG was also at the very top of the ''demo board'', almost like it was not meant to be included with the other batch of songs that all had working titles. We even found out the demo title for GATS, it was ''Blinky'' or ''Binky''. I wonder if the song in THP extended trailer that we heard that never made the cut was supposed to be in the place of UIG originally. It kind of bugs me as well that it was intended to be for Transformers, yet Bay chose the Imagine Dragons song instead. It does feel very different from the rest of the album, sonically, and lyrically it could have fit very well with the storyline of Transformers 4, IMO. Mike also built the song around the idea of working to a drop, something he learned with Steve Aoki, very interesting?

CHVRCHES Respond to Mike Shinoda's comments

Me too. I don't mind the girl's comment. The guy really pissed me off with his sarcastic approach towards Linkin Park. -
Sounds nothing like DTA...

Chester said recently on Loveline last month that he doesn't think LP will bring back Projekt Revolution and they want to keep doing new things with their tours. This is of coarse even if you count the Europe ''Projekt Revolution'' dates back in 2011 as actual Projekt Revolution dates, but it's been a while. They can sell out their own tour nowadays with just 1 or 2 support acts like they have been doing.
-
In my experience with Meet & Greet in the past, I have had to piss the other headlining act. For example, I had to miss Incubus's set at the Honda Civic Tour for the Meet & Greet, I also had to miss My Chemical Romance's set at Projekt Revolution 2007 for the Meet & Greet as well. It is worth it if you are a super LP fan and have never met the band before, trust me. If you have a friend up front at the barricade, they can save your spot for you during the Meet & Greet.

Mike is friends with Of Mice & Men, I knew they would tour with them eventually.

I literally have no idea what Linkin Park is planning to do for their 7rd album, I just hope it's good. I would have never expected them to go in the direction they did with The Hunting Party after LIVING THINGS, so literally, anything is possible, I think. I'm not sure if they will go back to writing softer, ''indie'' type songs because of the bold statement they made about not wanting to write that kind of music and stuff. I think maybe they will just go in a hard rock direction for a while, maybe a few more albums worth of that stuff.

I think there will be a bunch of new songs from THP in the set. I don't think it will be like the Europe set because that tour was before THP even came out. They always add songs from the album for the US tour after the promo tour is done (we saw this with MTM and LT).

CHVRCHES Respond to Mike Shinoda's comments
Geki replied to rsw2010's topic in Everything Linkin Park
This seriously has to be the gayest band of all time. I'm convinced. -
Hmm.. Valentine's Day is definitely one of my favorite songs off of Minutes To Midnight and I love Blackout, too. I also like SKIN TO BONE, which a lot of people hate. Mark The Graves is average, I don't love it or hate it. But I do notice a bit of a pattern, all of those songs are a bit experimental for LP and different than a lot of other songs on their respective albums.

They could drop every one of those songs if they just play Keys To The Kingdom. That would make me so happy.
