Minutes to Midnight B-Sides reincorporated
Geki replied to leftshoe18's topic in Everything Linkin Park
It's stupid if somebody doesn't include Across The Line or Blackbirds. Blackbirds was very close to making the album probably, they recorded live strings for it as seen on the DVD, and the ending sounds exactly the same on the DVD as the final version released this year. I don't think they reworked it much, it's probably virtually the same song as it was in 2007, they may have just touched it up a little to make it sound more professional. EDIT: I'm sorry, but it just pisses me off when people say Blackbirds was written solely for 8BR. How can you say such an idiotic statement when you can hear Blackbirds on the MTM DVD?!?!? You can clearly hear ''I'm giving back what I gave'' and it sounds exactly the same. Obviously it was intended for MTM if they completed enough to recorded strings and vocals that weren't just jibberish. Damn. -
What are all the LP songs that they recorded live strings for? From all albums + b-sides.
-
I really like the interactive layout of the site...it's pretty sick.
-
A Thousand Suns actually would be a cool album title IMO...idk about anyone else but I like it. If the lyrics on this album are conceptual about mythological stuff like this, this album is going to be FUCKING AMAZING.
-
I have never seen that shirt before...had NO idea it was out for over a year. I thought it was the new logo! It's a really sick looking logo anyways.
-
He went through a lot of fucking bullshit from the span of 2004-2007 pretty much. Out Of Ashes isn't really 'emo' at all. It's more dark sounding. If you take away Fire, Give Me Your Name, Into You and In The Darkness, the album has a very dark, deep sound to it. http://www.revolvermag.com/features/post/w...nington-on-div/ If everyone hasn't already seen this article, read it. It's my favorite DBS interview and IMO, it's the best of all. You'll see what the fuck he went though.

Am I the only one who actually liked Blackbirds?

I just listened to the 320 kbps rip...and I love Blackbirds infinitely more than I did 5 minutes ago. The quality made all the difference. It sounds amazing. -
I'd love to have the show where Chester was drunk and said have fun getting lung cancer to the Camel promoter and B.O.W. got forcibly removed from the stage and kicked off the tour. Video or audio would be awesome. But nothing exists. - About six songs into the set, Chester made a sarcastic comment about lung cancer and liver disease, and the band was kicked off stage and then kicked off an entire Camel Cigarettes Tour. Bucket Of Weenies was going to play all of the company's parties around the United States, but got booted! Hilarious! - From an interview with Sean Dowdell: "And we get there and we’re playing in front of…I don’t know…fifteen hundred, twenty five hundred people, something like that and Chester…this was when he was drinking…so he was pretty happy up on stage and we’re all playing and about six, seven songs into the set he raises his bottle of Jack Daniel’s…he’s got a cigarette in one hand and a bottle of Jack Daniel’s in the other--mind you, we’re at an RJ Reynolds party; this is a cigarette party--he gets up on stage and says, “Hey, is everybody having fun?” and it was kind of a dead response and he said, “Alright all you mother-f-ers, how’s it feel to be getting lung cancer and liver disease?” And it was like…you could hear a pin drop. Our power got cut, security guards came out of nowhere. They just appeared, grabbed all of us, escorted us off stage. Three lawyers came out of the back alley with our contract, highlighted fifty-two points of interest we violated and we got kicked off an RJ Reynolds tour for saying the word cancer. So that, to me, was like the funniest thing and he was so upset because we lost a ton of money and I thought it was the most punk rock moment of my musical career…to be able to tell the tobacco companies to shove it up their…" - From Tyler Fyre's review: "The show is a lot of fun – the crowd is liquored up and having a blast – and they’ve gone all out with entertainment – bringing out the Albuquerque Roller Girls, a casino, a whole gang of gorgeous go-go girls in lingerie, Grindergirl, Black Maria, and Bucket of Weenies – a compilation band of killer musicians featuring Chester Bennington (Linkin Park), Mike Brown (TSOL), Sean Dowdell (Grey Daze), Ryan Shuck (Orgy), and Mike Rouse (The Johns). They get into a fight with the audience because somebody threw a piece of ice at them and then start dissing Camel – always a good move when you’ve just been paid $20,000 to perform."

It's not that great of quality really...I would love to have Wish from that show in SBD quality.
-
I'd like: Faint (Live from any PR04 show with Bert) Reading My Eyes (From any 2008 show) Don't Stay (Live from any PR04 show) Wish (Live from Mountain View PR04...the vocals are better than any other Wish) And One (HQ live from any show) That's really it. That and I wish I had the 2006 B.O.W. in SBD quality...as well as the 2008 DBS Club Tattoo show.

I don't understand how anyone thinks this is fake. Obviously if it was fake, Warner would not have cared about it being posted. We all know the album will more than likely be released in September, so August is when the first single would be out. The album could also be released in October, but usually LP releases singles about a month before the album is released. For example, WID was released in April and MTM was released in May.
-
I'm pretty sure that the 2006 show isn't released in full...I think there was actually a couple 2006 B.O.W. shows. I could be wrong though. I know there's a 2005 B.O.W. in full from Chester's stalker...

I don't like Blackbirds that much...same goes for Not Alone and Lockjaw too. I never can really get into them at all...Across The Line and New Divide are awesome though. -
You never know, maybe the album was originally going to have 10 songs. I could see Give Me Your Name and another track not being on it.
-
I have a lot of music that I love that is electronic and heavy, I just do not think LP would do that. If they did, I might like it more than MTM! Chester never screams anymore though...that's why I'm thinking the whole album will sound like fucking Not Alone...
-
Blackbirds was from the MTM era, but they recently reworked it. It has a electronic, progressive sound...
-
It's not just that, but the way that the new album has been described so far doesn't make me excited either. I'm not really into progressive music, or electronic music or 'heavy without metal' or anything like that. I don't think this album will have any screaming vocals at all, not even heavy guitar or drums. Something tells me the album will sound like Blackbirds, which wasn't that great IMO. It sucks but I guess I'm going to have to deal with the fact that LP has completely changed once again, this time not in my favor. I really love Minutes To Midnight, it's probably my favorite album of all time by any artist, but something tells me the news album will be very different from the MTM sound. It seems like they're becoming Muse with the way they are describing it, plus we a know how much Chester loves them.
-
It feels like I've waited so long for the new LP music and new LPTVs that I'm not even really excited for them anymore...which is weird because I have never felt this way about an LP release...
-
I like the 2006 Remix of Morning After...that's my favorite of all.
-
Basically, Cheste got really drunk and high and lost the keys to his Dads house. He tried to break in through the back window, but fell through it and had to get 21 stitches. This is why the song Given Up by LP was originally called '21 Stitches' because it basically sums up his drinking problems.
-
I never wanted more rapping to be honest. I was content with the amount of rapping on MTM to be honest. I always want screaming on LP music. I don't want the whole album to have screaming, but definitely a few songs.
-
Not gonna judge this album from reviews and stuff before the album. It does sound pretty interesting though. I want screaming and rapping, I probably will not enjoy this album if there isn't at least some screaming or aggressive screaming.
-
Albums are only released on Tuesdays in the US...so I'm assuming the 28th here if this is true. My birthday is September 21st and it's a Tuesday so that would be sick if it came out that day!
-
I highly doubt it will be harder...I mean, they described it with terms like 'heavy without metal' or 'electronic driven' so I don't think there will be any screaming or anything like that which sucks.
-
4.0 is really awesome!!! Good job with everything guys.
