LP wouldn't take it to a dark level like NIN did. LP would probably do a much more watered down, almost lame, version of what NIN did if they decided to do it. The event in LA is probably just like a LP Recharge release party or something like that for LPU.

Nah, those songs suck. Black Heart is better. -

It's probably because they can't play songs from every single album and have it all fit in one set. If they did that, we'd have less of their ''big singles'' and stuff like that. Also, their 2010 album was horrible, so I could see why the band wouldn't want to play anything from that album. I think the set is solid, I know most of the songs and I think it flows well. If they add anything, it should be 'Black Heart'. -

Church On Tuesday is from the album No. 4. There are a few songs in the set from No. 4 which is awesome. Great album. The set is a good mix of all STP's albums except for their 2010 self titled album, which wasn't very good IMO anyways. -

Great setlist!!! Down is one of my favorite STP songs, it's awesome that Chester is singing it! I think Black Heart will debut maybe sometime during the tour, whether it be the next few shows or later on. I hope they play it in Boston, but either way, this will be awesome! -
I'm gonna buy one of the bundles, the hoodie, button pack and mystery prize. The hoodie looks cool.

No, I feel like Mike really took the forefront with ATS and then with LT. In the past albums, he wasn't as present, especially with MTM. With ATS, he kind of directed the band in that direction and he did a lot of rapping and singing on the album, as well as writing a lot of the stuff, etc. He also is a very present on LT in almost the same way. I guess what I'm saying is that I never really viewed Mike as the main person of LP, or ''the guy who writes the songs'' up until ATS. And yes, I'm not gonna lie that I love HT, Meteora and MTM a hell of a lot more than ATS or LT. I'm not saying Mike isn't talented, it's just that it's not really my cup of tea.

I probably wouldn't really ''shit talk'' LP on social media, I would just stop listening to LP and stop caring about the band. I would probably write my 2 cents worth and leave it at that. I would listen to Chester's other bands. Even now, I listen to DBS, BOW, Grey Daze, Camp Freddy and now STP more than I do LP's music. The thing I love the most about LP is Chester's voice. I don't really care all too much for Mike's rapping or singing, and I don't really care much about the ''music'' without Chester's vocals. I guess I'm more of a Chester fan than I am a Linkin Park fan. I was a huge LP fan up until ATS and LT, I didn't enjoy those releases as much. I feel like Chester used to be the leader of the band up until ATS, and now Mike is the leader of the band. So I realized it's really Mike's band, seeing as how everyone says he writes all of LP's music and decides what direction they take, etc.

Eh, maybe for some people. I wouldn't listen to LP at all anymore if Chester was no longer a part of the band. It's all subjective for people. I can see where STP fans are coming from. Scott was their singer and they won't accept a new one. We are all biased and we can all easily say they are immature and stupid, etc. But if another singer replaced Chester, I would probably shit talk the band to no end (especially on social media) and everything because I would be upset. I wouldn't accept a new singer. I can see where they are coming from. I think it's best for LP fans to just ignore what STP fans and Scott have to say about Chester and LP, etc. It's not worth getting upset over, because you will never get through to them, they won't accept a new singer.

Older Stone Temple Pilots songs recommendations
Geki replied to Skipees's topic in Stone Temple Pilots
I think LP fans would probably say this, it'd be more in the style of LP's music for them. I think their harder songs kick ass. It's just great rock music. It's not overly complex or weird structures or anything like that. STP is just a rock band. This is what rock bands do, they make music like STP's discography. I'd say the 5 best STP songs for people to check out are 1. Dead And Bloated 2. Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart 3. Down 4. Wicked Garden 5. Pop's Love Suicide -
YES!!! GREAT lyrics!! I really like them. I also love Out Of Time's lyrics, too. I think this EP will be amazing.

I bet they will play ''Black Heart''. I don't think that ''Out Of Time'' will be the only new song they will play in the set. I can't wait to hear some of the stuff from the EP!! If they do end up playing other new songs, Boston will be even better than I thought! Great news!! -

Cool in depth interview. I can't wait to hear the EP, especially the track Chester wrote, ''Cry, Cry''. Sounds promising. -

Wow, this sounds awesome. I like when Mike does stuff like this, just not with LP music. -

Cool rehearsal, the usual rich LP fans attended, must be nice for them. I think the best song they played so far is Pops Love Suicide. -

Great songs that they are playing. Can't wait to hear them. Pops Love Suicide is especially great. -
Another thing that annoys me about how they basically only play singles is the fact that they have TONS of singles. Surely, In The End, Numb and What I've Done are probably their biggest hits in terms of sales and popularity and stuff, so keep those always. That's only 3 songs. They could sacrifice some other singles that fans wouldn't care as much about in favor of other awesome songs. But this is LP, I guess they don't think like that or something.

Stone Temple Pilots - Tour Rehearsal Video Chat
Geki replied to SergSlim's topic in Stone Temple Pilots
Not too great of a chat, but fun I guess. You guys didn't expect some huge thing with tons of serious answers and stuff, did you? -
No, they're just afraid to play non-singles, or songs that are a bit harder to pull off. Incredibly boring. This is why that the SSMF might be the last LP show I attend. When I go to see my favorite band, I expect to have fun and see some new songs from the new album, stuff like that. Look at Muse's set for example. Matt is a genius and Muse isn't afraid to take risks, especially live. They get worldwide praise for their live show, and they don't just only play singles. They play non-singles, b-sides and singles from long ago that aren't ''popular'' in the mainstream anymore. LP did bring back some old HT songs for the LT tour, but I expected to hear some more of the actual new album as well, and I'm willing to bet that all those HT songs will not last with the next touring cycle. Basically, LP would rather choose In The End or Numb, every single show, rather than try a older song or a non-single even ONCE. It's also funny that one of the few non-singles in the set is LIES GREED MISERY, which is absolutely horrible live. They could definitely replace that one with a better choice.

Older Stone Temple Pilots songs recommendations
Geki replied to Skipees's topic in Stone Temple Pilots
I love Core, Purple, Tiny Music and No.4, all fantastic albums. I didn't like Shangri-La Dee Da much, and I didn't like their 2010 release at all. I recommend the first 4 albums. Core is probably the best. -
Oh, I love the 'on a valentine's day' part, such a great song. Much better than the insanely overly hugely electronic shit LP is doing nowadays.
