  1. Ok, so I only have a 8GB iPhone. I have a LOT of music on my phone, my GB is almost all used up from all the music I have on it. However, I have tons of LP stuff that I don't listen to on my phone. I also have tons of other artists and bands that I'd rather not delete off of it. The question here is, what do you guys (people who use iTunes + iPhone/iPod) put on for LP? I was going to do the main 5 albums and the other official releases, but I ended up putting on tons of demos, singles, shows, etc. I feel like some kind of n00b or something when I have hardly any LP on my phone besides their main stuff. What do you guys do to manage it?
  2. No, I didn't mean if LP were to make the same style of DBS music that the hating would commence. I meant that any time DBS or Out Of Ashes or anything related to the band (DBS) is always hated on to the EXTREME here. It sucks because Out Of Ashes is one of my favorite albums of all time. People say it sucked because of Howard Benson, but it's not that bad. It's just not the same style as LP, so people didn't like it here, and they act like The Rising Tied is this sacred album that can never be criticized.
  3. I remember this video first coming out before LIVING THINGS was released, I figured it was a trailer for the making of LIVING THINGS, kind of like LP did with the trailer for The Meeting Of A Thousand Suns in 2010. I guessed wrong. I think the making of LIVING THINGS sucked compared to this 3 minute trailer. I love this trailer. A fan somewhere should make our own fan-made making of LIVING THINGS since we never got a proper release, and the other one released online left out tons of footage from LPTV and stuff. It would be cool.
  4. Let the DBS hating commence. Everyone on this site loves to shit all over DBS. If you even so much as mention anything related to DBS, people freak out. With that being said, I agree. I wouldn't want LP to make albums that sound like FM or DBS, I think LP has their own unique going (at least with their 5 albums) and I don't think an entire EDM direction would really be all that unique, and like you said above, it wouldn't utilize all the band members.
  5. Great news for Australia/New Zealand people. Good line-up, although I do prefer the 2013 line-up a little more. I have a feeling STP with Chester will be a bigger thing than a lot of people think. It won't be just a little side project.
  6. Yo it matters to me. I don't care what other people think, because it's my opinion. I'm allowed to have my own opinion. For me, it would absolutely suck if LP were to head into a EDM direction. FOR ME. Not everyone else or the band themselves. I don't understand why people post things like you do. You get mad when other people complain or bitch about something. So what? This is what a forum is for, to discuss things. I think it would be INCREDIBLY boring if every single person had the same view and same opinion on everything the band does. Your whole post also states the obvious; if you don't like it, don't listen. I said I wouldn't like it if they go into a EDM direction, so obviously I wouldn't be listening to it all the time.
  7. I listen to non album songs quite a lot. I guess this song isn't too bad. I just don't want LP to head in the EDM direction for their new album, but I guess they will do it regardless.
  8. - The very first thing I remember for the LIVING THINGS cycle was the news that the first single would be called ''Burn It Down'' and that they were currently shooting a music video for it. It took me by surprise because it came out of nowhere, I didn't think we would get a new album that soon after ATS came out. I remember some of the video stills (like Chester discussing the song in that black tanktop) and stuff. - I remember the very first clips of Burn It Down surfacing and the fans were going crazy. Then of coarse, the infamous ''potato rip'' came about. I must have played that like 100 times, despite the shitty quality. Then LP actually leaked the song before the official release date on their YouTube page and I remember just replaying that over and over again, I loved it. - I remember when the HCT was first announced and I freaked out about making sure I could get pit tickets. I got pit tickets for Uncasville and Mansfield. I wasn't originally going to go to Camden, but then the Summit got announced and I got a lawn ticket for Camden. I was super excited. - I remember all the awesome promo shows the band played before the album came out. I watched all the webcasts live almost religiously, I specifically remember Rock in Rio and the X-Games show in particular, those were amazing days and nights for me. Also, Jimmy Kimmel was pretty awesome, watching that on TV. - Then of coarse, the infamous scavenger hunt, and Lies Greed Misery premiering on Zane Lowe... I remember listening live on the internet and I was like ''wtf?'' immediately after I heard it, then I downloaded some low quality rip of the song and played it in my car and it grew on me. The screaming is what I missed from ATS, I loved it. - Next up, the album leak. I guess someone leaked the album on iTunes stream, right? Was it the band themselves? Anyways, it was a EPIC first listening. I was sitting in my room just going crazy. I remember head banging to Lost In the Echo at first. I loved all the songs. All the teaser videos and stuff from weeks before got me pumped up. I was most excited for Victimized because of that one critic who said it was LP's heavier song yet, even heavier than Qwerty. I remember hearing the drums at the intro and just went nuts. I loved that song. Short, but awesome. I thought it would be a bit heavier but still awesome. Powerless really hit me by surprise, it was definitely my favorite song at the time. The lyrics definitely hit me, I connected so well with what I was going through at the time it was almost scary. No song has ever been able to connect with me like that before. That situation and those lyrics just fit extremely well. - Once the HCT came, that was amazing. Uncasville wasn't the greatest because of the situation with my girlfriend at the time, but the show was actually pretty awesome and I was front row. With You with Game Of Thrones intro was epic. Then came Mansfield, which was my favorite. Front row again, and I also had a meet and greet and got my LPU6 newsletter signed by the band. The band was on fire that night, I still haven't found a better performance of Victimized. Then was the Summit and Camden. I remember driving like 6 hours in the middle of the night to get there early to wait in line. The Summit was epic. I met tons of LP fans in the community, and the whole thing was fun. The lunch was an awesome addition, and riding in the trolley across Camden was both funny and entertaining at times, especially when our driver got lost somewhat. Lol. Adam was like wtf. Then was the meet and greet, I got to show Chester my Bucket Of Weenies shirt that I made and I got to give him a letter I had written for him. The band also played The Messenger and In My Remains, both acoustic, earlier in the day for us which was epic. Then next up was the group pic, I was right up front with Chester in the pic. So awesome.. The show was great, too. Great set. It was interesting because I had never seen LP in the lawn before. It was pouring rain and everyone started singing along and going crazy, I felt a connection that I never felt before at a concert. It's like we all bonded, singing LP, with LP, in the rain and just not caring. One of the best concert experiences I've ever had actually. - Next up was the South America and South Africa shows, all great and awesome shows. I really enjoyed them. The whole MOH thing was during this time too, that was cool. After those shows, LP played the VGA's and performed Castle Of Glass for the first time, really epic. The AAC show was also really cool, I loved how Chester wore that santa hat. - Next up was Soundwave... all EPIC shows. The Las Vegas show was before this as well, that was a really cool show. Soundwave was sick though. I wish I could have went. I loved a lot of the bands that played. Really fun times. Remember when Chester stopped POA for the fan that fell? Reminded me of Docklands 2001, so epic. - Next up was the announcement for SSMF. I couldn't believe I was able to go. The excitement killed me for a few months, because LP news was so slow, too. Finally, it was July 31st and I was in the airport getting ready to head to LA. I was so excited. When we got there, I got to do tons of awesome stuff. I got to see the Laurel Canyon house where LP made MTM, we pulled in and I took a bunch of pics and stuff and got to see the entire yard before some guy asked what we were doing there. I wish we could have got to go inside... would have been a dream come true for me. Anyways, we then went to Santa Monica Beach, Hollywood Blvd, House of Blues LA, tons of really cool places in LA over the coarse of our trip. The day of the show was HECTIC. Had to wait SUPER early (8am to 11:30am) just to get our tickets at will call. Then I went to line up in line, we had to wait there until 2PM before getting let into ANOTHER line, where we waited ANOTHER hour. 3PM we finally got let in and everyone ran to the stage. I couldn't run as fast, I wasn't able to get the barricade at the LPU section, but directly behind the person at the barricade. I have really bad back problems so I really struggled all day not being able to lean and stand all day. Street Drum Corps opened up and was crazy. Next was Finch who were alright. Next was Black Rebel Motorcycle Club who wasn't really my cup of tea, but played a few good songs. Next up was AWOLNATION who actually were really good. The crowd loved them. Chester was watching them and people were going CRAZY because he was standing next to us. Haha. Finally, it was time for LP. The first thing we heard was the APFMH intro and people were going crazy. The band brought it, all the performances were spot on. The screams, raps, etc. They talked about their past as a band and stuff. COG was really good. Once LP was over, I couldn't walk and fell over. Like I said, my back has severe problems. I got up and barely made it to the car. Needless to say, we got some drive thru (in and out burger) and I drank a shit ton of water and gatorade, and we went back to the hotel and I crashed. Haha. - After we got back from LA, I was surprised by the Steve Aoki collaboration in Japan, I never expected that. Not much else to say about the Asia tour except that the shows seemed good and the band obviously had fun. Overall, this was a good album cycle. I feel bad for the people in Europe who didn't get a proper tour, that sucks... I still love the album, but my favorite song is definitely I'LL BE GONE, which I didn't even like that much back when the album came out. Haha. A lot of good times.. I'm ready for album 6.
  9. I don't care about old songs returning, it doesn't really interest me. The energy of the band is what interests me at live shows. I didn't include old songs returning because it didn't interest me and because it didn't have anything to do with the cycle for me. This wasn't a review, it was just what your own invidual memories and thoughts were looking back on the cycle, it can be anything.
  10. Yeah, but I've never heard this bootleg before. It sounds different. I like the way it sounds actually.
  11. Yeah, it was a Korn and Chester collaboration, it was a cover of Head Like A Hole by NIN. Chester did the vocals I am pretty sure. It was supposed to be on a Korn cover album, but that album never saw the light of day, and was confirmed either last year or the year before that it will never be released. It would have been epic. Imagine Chester singing Head Like A Hole... he would have tore that shit apart, especially back in 2004/2005. I bet the vocals were sick.
  12. So as many of you know, the LIVING THINGS cycle has come to an end recently with the last show in Asia being completed. This thread's purpose is to look back on the album cycle as a whole; what interested you the most, fond memories, discuss tours, etc. I usually do this after each album cycle is completed. - The very first thing I remember for the LIVING THINGS cycle was the news that the first single would be called ''Burn It Down'' and that they were currently shooting a music video for it. 13. Astat said in 2008 that it was an extended version.
  14. I wish I had a CD of this exact bootleg.
  15. LP doesn't deserve shit from either of those bands. LP has never done or said anything bad about Limp Bizkit, and Limp Bizkit is honestly just probably really jealous of LP's success. I remember when DJ Lethal called Chester a ''skinny jean wearing faggot'' and made an entire diss track called ''Crack Your Skull'' about Mr. Hahn because they apparently thought a demo from 1999 was written about them in 2011. Somehow that made sense I guess. LP doesn't deserve shit from Scott just because Chester replaced him as the lead singer of STP. Scott should be adult enough by now to realize how much of a problem he has with drugs. He was canceling shows and tours left and right, wasn't showing up to writing sessions, refused to play STP songs live, and more. He wonders why they kicked him out; they had no other option except to break up, and that is totally selfish and unfair. If the BAND wants to make music, they should be able to, just because the high lead singer doesn't want to cooperate doesn't mean they should suffer as well. Chester has been a fan of STP since he was 13 and was friends with them for years. Chester is a phenomenal singer and one of the best singers in the world as of right now. Of coarse they would choose him. He can handle the songs live and loves and appreciates their music. To let your crowd chant ''FUCK YOU CHESTER'' at a show is just stupid, especially after he told Rolling Stone earlier in the month that he had no beef with Chester, just the DeLeo brothers. Honestly, I don't even know why Scott Weiland fans hate Chester. I don't understand how anyone can think that Scott should have not been kicked out, but I guess he has some pretty crazy loyal fans or something. Not trying to diss you Pez or anything, I just think unnecessary hate is stupid and pointless.
  16. I think it should be forgotten about or just never be released, kind of like Head Like A Hole cover was for example.
  17. I seriously hope the 6th LP album isn't an entire dubstep/EDM album. I might not even be a fan of the band after all these years if they do that. The song sounds decent, but only for a one off collaboration. Not the DJ Fresh shit and all that. As long as this doesn't interfere with the new Linkin Park music for the 6th album, I'm cool with it. I like Chester's vocals in this song, as well as the effects. Not a big fan of Mike's rapping. Meh. Chester > Mike anyday. Decent sounding track, though. Will be cool when we get the final version.
  18. Sounds a lot different than the live version. I got the email with the preview for download. I actually don't mind it. I certainly don't want tons of EDM collaborations with LP, but this one was pretty decent sounding because it still has the original LP elements in the music somewhat. I'll say my final judgement when I hear the full studio version.
  19. I wonder if Scott was high on heroin, like he was so many times before. Anyone remember when STP was about to come on stage in minutes, and they had to cancel the show with tons and tons of fans already at the stage because Scott was too high to perform? Wouldn't you be mad? Imagine you were seeing LP, front row, you were super excited. They were coming on stage in like 5 minutes. Then, all of a sudden, you have to leave and go home because Chester was too high too perform. Like wtf? The way Scott talks and sings now, he always sounds fucked up on something.
  20. LP has experimented enough. I don't understand why they ''HAVE to prove they can be DIFFERENT at ALL costs''. Seriously. They've done tons of different types of music since 2006 and I think that they should shape what their ''sound'' is and just stick with that sound. At this rate, LP will be forgotten and only remembered for Hybrid Theory and that ''Jay-Z CD''. That's it. MTM proved they could be different by far, they lost a shit-ton of fans. It may not sound too different nowadays, but in 2007, MTM was drastically different from Hybrid Theory and Meteora, with songs like Hands Held High and The Little Things Give You Away for good examples. Then came New Divide, which wasn't very different, maybe a little MTMish sounding. Huge single. Then came ATS in 2010 and that further changed their sound. They lost even MORE fans that hung on through the MTM times. With ATS, they proved they can do anything. It's a masterpiece album (I'm just not a fan of it in live settings unless they played it in full). No one knew what to even classify LP. That is exactly what LP had worked hard for, and wanted badly. Then they make LIVING THINGS in 2011/2012 and it's basically all albums mashed up into one (except not really). All they did IMO was blend their old ''nu-metal'' sound with the electronic stuff from ATS and go back to pop song structures. It wasn't groundbreaking or different, but it was a great album. It's like what you would expect from LP. Now in 2013, they release a bunch of one off EDM collaborations (there are more to come, trust me). FURTHER alienating the fanbase. I don't think anyone even cares about LP anymore to be honest, that aren't hardcore fans. Sure, people like the huge hit singles, but they aren't fans like us. What I'm saying is, they proved they could do anything in 2010, yet must have been unsatisfied or something. I honestly do not know what to expect from LP on the next album and it's scaring me. I don't want it to suck. You can only do so many styles, and it's obvious they won't touch the real ''metal'' realm or country realm (folk was the closest they would go). Even then, they said LT had folk style LP songs. No, it didn't. COG, STB and RU do not sound like folk songs at all, maybe the original demos did, idk. What else can they do? Become an EDM band? They have tackled rock, hip-hop, electronic, EDM (now), folk (I guess), old school metal (a few songs like NMS), alternative, dance, like wtf. What can they do? Country? Polka? Ska? Classical? Death metal? I can't see them doing any of those genres. EDIT: Also, I'm not trying to offend anybody, but I've been seeing something that is pissing me off lately in the LP community. People saying that EDM music isn't new to LP. Wtf? It is. Trust me. Reanimation is a REMIX ALBUM, not a MAIN STUDIO ALBUM, and even then, it's a different kind of electronic and honestly more hip-hop oriented than anything. ATS has electronic elements, none really similar to EDM or Dubstep at all. Neither did LT, it was a different kind of electronic. EDM and Dubstep are not the only kind of electronic music. That's like saying Death Metal and Rock are the same. Dubstep/EDM is like the extreme version of electronic music, while Death Metal is like the extreme version of Rock. Get it? Also, the LT remixes don't mean shit. They're remixes. They are not on a main album. I don't judge bands based off of remixes. That's like saying ''I guess BMTH is dubstep, because Skrillex remixed a few of their songs for Cut-up''.
  21. So.. The LIVING THINGS world tour is over. Crazy how fast this album cycle went by. I had a lot of fun on this tour, though. Last summer was awesome. I remember the entire cycle, so many great shows, so many great memories. Then of coarse the Summit in Camden, and traveling to LA earlier this month to see LP play.. I think an album wrap up thread may be coming, so I won't type too much here.
  22. - Joe honestly probably doesn't have a say in what they play. I read somewhere on this site that someone said LP has become 'pop stars', especially Mike and Chester, that they are the center of all the attention. I feel like the other LP band members have no say a lot of the time. Nobody can know for sure except the band. - That LPTV caught me off guard as well. I was like, ''wtf, why would Mike ask what they can and can't drop''? And then Brad says ''well that's the single, we have to play that one''. No, you don't HAVE to play anything. I like COG live a lot, I'm just saying, that's probably the attitude towards all the singles LP has. - I don't think Brad has ever said he doesn't like the old material. He definitely seems to have taken a liking to the MTM, ATS and LT music, though. He acts like that in tons of interviews and stuff. He also seems VERY uninterested in playing old songs live, which was also brought on on this site before.
  23. It's not that, but I think LP definitely has this chip on their shoulder that basically says ''We can do whatever the fuck we want, and if our fans don't like it, oh well. Who cares what they think, we'll just make music that we want''. While it's fine to have that attitude, I think it comes to an extent. You shouldn't deliberately WANT to make music that will divide your fans. If you happen to be making music that is different, it's a whole different story IMO. It's kind of weird to make music for the sole fact that you want to divide your fans. I don't know any other bands that do that. I've also heard a lot of horror stories (especially recently) about the band being dicks at meet and greets and shit. Sometimes their responses on Twitter can come across dickish, too. But that's just my opinion I guess. I just think LP has definitely changed over the past year in crazy ways, both as people, and as a band.
  24. No offense, but I don't see why people are comparing these collaborations to 'We Made It' at all. Busta Rhymes and Dubstep/EDM music are not the same at all. For example, I like Busta Rhymes and I like some hip-hop, but I despise Dubstep/EDM music for the most part. They are not the same. We Made It was also made in 2008, this is 2013, and it seems as though LP are doing more than one collaboration with artists in this genre, not to mention they seem to be taking an extreme liking to tons of DJ's and shit on Twitter. LIVING THINGS was also really electronic, but not like this. Honestly, LP (to me) has always had a very unique style of electronic music within their songs. I don't find Dubstep/EDM music to be unique. It's a trend. It's a trend much like nu-metal was back in the day. It will die out eventually. Quote this post and years down the road you will see I was right. Anyways, I seriously LP doesn't pull a Korn and release that kind of album, complete with special guests and all that. I would be so disappointed that it might make me ponder on if I'm still a fan of the band, which is saying a lot. I've been a LP fan since I was 10 years old and I have spent so much money on LP and LP merch it's sickening. I've traveled tons of places to see LP. LP is a big part of my life. I've even stuck by them through crazy changes, like MTM and ATS were at the time, and even LT to an extent. But I will not stick by them if they continue down this road.. They honestly picked the genre of music that I hate the most. I hate this type of music almost as much as I hate the Justin Beiber type of music.
  25. I think the label may honestly push them to play as many hit ''singles'' in the set as possible. Like Mark said, the set length is 100% OK with me and is reasonable considering we want Chester's voice to be protected. I honestly can't see anyone in the band complaining about the band playing older songs (except maybe Brad) or new songs from LT that haven't been played yet. I think even Brad would want to play some of those. Which leads me to believe that possibly someone at the label or management is having some sort of control. Maybe the same people who control the DSP's and how they stopped selling them and the band didn't even know? Idk.
